Synthesis is vital, as it provides one-turn recovery, which is one of Flabebe's only niches over other Fairy-types; however, be aware that Synthesis is dependent on weather and has low PP. Psychic is a powerful coverage option to hit many Poison-types such as Gastly and Croagunk hard, while Hidden Power Fire heavily damages Steel- and Grass-types such as Ferroseed, Pawniard, and Foongus. Usage Tips Beware of weather conditions such as rain and sandstorm, as they halve Flabebe's healing from Synthesis. Even though Flabebe can be used to counter Fighting-types, sweeping becomes much more difficult if they Knock Off its Eviolite. Try to weaken or KO Flabebe's checks and counters before setting up with Calm Mind. Team Options Fire-types such as Vulpix and Ponyta can deal with Steel-types such as Pawniard.; Vulpix also boosts Flabebe's healing from Synthesis with its ability Drought. Ground-types like Drilbur and Diglett threaten Steel-, Poison-, and Ground-types that might impede Flabebe from sweeping. Flabebe can take on Fighting-types and thus allow Normal-types such as Porygon to flourish. Pokemon that can switch into Knock Off, such as Trubbish, Shellos, and Mienfoo, can help Flabebe retain its bulk and allow it to sweep more easily. Fighting-types such as the aforementioned Mienfoo can also check Pawniard and weaken Poison-types like Foongus with Knock Off.
