Analyse

Facade lets Obstagoon 2HKO many slower defensive Pokemon like Amoonguss and Hippowdon after Stealth Rock damage. Knock Off slams Normal-resistant foes like Celesteela and Scizor. Rest gives Obstagoon some longevity against defensive teams that try to wear it down with residual damage and Sleep Talk lets it call moves when it's asleep while still being boosted by Guts. Unfortunately, the inconsistency when calling moves can make it tough to use when asleep. Due to Obstagoon's lack of coverage, it gives free set up opportunities to Cobalion, making it very difficult for it to force progress against most teams. Obstagoon can run a set with Close Combat and Switcheroo or Obstruct over RestTalk to remedy its coverage issues and cripple defensive Salamence, but this leaves it far more vulnerable to chip damage than it already was. Conkeldurr's better bulk and coverage make it a much more straightforward Pokemon to use. Obstagoon's higher Speed doesn't justify its far lower damage output as well, killing any viability it has.
