Analyse

Roselia is a niche defensive entry hazard setter thanks to having Spikes, Toxic Spikes, reliable recovery, and a good defensive typing that allows it to check common attacker in Sawk and Thwackey. Spikes is Roselia's main method of dealing consistent damage to wear down the opposing team; however, Toxic Spikes is more powerful against bulkier builds or in conjunction with Pokemon that use Hex such as Rotom. Poison Point is used over Natural Cure to punish Pokemon such as Thwackey and Sawk. The EV spread avoids getting 2HKOed by Sawk while outspeeding Adamant Rhydon and Carracosta. Roselia fits well on balance teams, providing Spikes support to wear down the opposing team and checking common Pokemon such as Thwackey and Sawk. Coalossal and Poliwrath make excellent teammates for Roselia, forming a Fire / Water / Grass core. Coalossal provides Stealth Rock and entry hazard removal with Rapid Spin, while Poliwrath can phaze foes out with Circle Throw, racking up Spikes damage. Both partners also resist Fire and Ice, which Roselia is vulnerable too. Psychic- and Flying-types are still problematic, however, so teammates such as Alolan Persian and Klinklang work well to help cover them. Kangaskhan works great as a teammate, reaping the benefits from entry hazard support by making Fake Out more threatening and taking advantage of the additional chip damage needed to 2HKO bulky foes such as Miltank and Tangela once its Eviolite is removed. Pawniard can help by using Knock Off to remove opponents Heavy-Duty Boots, in addition to threatening entry hazard removers such as Articuno and Altaria thanks to Defiant.
