Analyse

Slurpuff can act as a suicide lead on hyper offensive teams using Sticky Web and its myriad of crippling moves to support its teammates. With a Focus Sash, Slurpuff can survive a hit to set up Sticky Web, and it will often move first next turn due to Unburden. Yawn is used to force switches and prevent opposing Pokemon from using Slurpuff as setup fodder. Endeavor is used to bring down a foe's HP once Slurpuff's Focus Sash has been activated. Alternatively, Magic Coat can be used to bounce back entry hazards from Pokemon such as Bronzong, Golisopod, and Klefki. Finally, Misty Explosion is used to damage an opposing Pokemon while maintaining momentum. 0 IVs in HP, Defense, and Special Defense allow Slurpuff to activate its Focus Sash more consistently. Because Slurpuff's role is to set up Sticky Web, Pokemon that can take advantage of Sticky Web to sweep, such as Mimikyu and Lucario, make good teammates. Mimikyu, in particular, can also block Rapid Spin attempts from the foe. Common Defog users such as Togekiss and Crobat may try to remove Sticky Web, so teammates that can pressure them such as Xurkitree, Raikou, and Toxtricity can help. Furthermore, Toxtricity and Raikou can break through teams much more easily with Sticky Web support. Sticky Web can also help slower wallbreakers such as Pangoro, Regidrago, and Bewear break through teams. Finally, Knock Off support from Pokemon such as Incineroar, Golisopod, and Heracross is helpful, as it can remove Heavy-Duty Boots from opposing Pokemon.

Analyse

Slurpuff has a niche as a sweeper in RU that can use the combination of Unburden + Belly Drum to break through teams late-game. In addition, its Fairy typing allows it to set up on common Pokemon such as Noivern, Flygon, and Choice Scarf Heracross. Unfortunately, Slurpuff faces competition from other setup sweepers such as Mimikyu, Cloyster, and Dragon Dance Flygon, as they have an easier time setting up because of their respective speed and bulk, which allows them to break through teams more easily. Slurpuff also faces stiff competition as a Belly Drum sweeper from Linoone, which has an amazing movepool that is resisted by very few Pokemon. Drain Punch is used to hit Steel-types such as Registeel, Stakataka, and Steelix, while Facade is used to hit Poison-types such as Crobat, Vileplume, and Galarian Weezing. Because Slurpuff is a late-game sweeper, it belongs on hyper offensive teams. Galarian Weezing can support Slurpuff with Misty Terrain, preventing it from being crippled with status. In addition, Galarian Weezing can also provide Memento support, allowing Slurpuff to set up on a weakened foe. Entry hazard support from Roserade, Golisopod, and Metagross can ease Slurpuff's ability to sweep through teams. Other setup sweepers, such as Cloyster and Toxtricity, are good teammates, as they can set up on Pokemon such as Steelix, Vileplume, and Crobat. Slurpuff fails to break past Steel-types such as Metagross and Doublade, so checks to these Pokemon such as Incineroar, Chandelure, and Entei are important. Haze users such as Milotic prevent Slurpuff from setting up, so checks such as Celebi and Toxtricity are appreciated. Entry hazards can decrease Slurpuff's ability to sweep, so spinners such as Dhelmise and Starmie make good partners.
