Calyrex (Shadow Rider) Movesets & Competitive Sets

Set Details Focus Sash Calyrex-S is a strong attacker and disruptor capable of swinging games around, threatening many common Pokemon such as both Calyrex formes, Amoonguss, and Koraidon. Encore is great in scaring off many moves such as Fake Out from Rillaboom and Incineroar, Calm Mind from Terapagos, Protect, and much more. Disable, on the other hand, is useful to shut down powerful moves that can easily stop Calyrex-S, most notably Wide Guard from the likes of Lunala and Zamazenta-C. Nasty Plot can boost Calyrex-S's sweeping power, letting it OHKO Assault Vest Iron Hands with Psychic. Encore and Disable help Terapagos in particular, helping it to set up even in the face of threatening Fighting-types like Urshifu-R and Koraidon. Focus Sash increases Calyrex-S's survivability, allowing it to survive the many attacks that can OHKO it such as Moongeist Beam from Lunala and Electro Drift from Miraidon. Calyrex-S will be able to hit hard, live an attack, and then retaliate. Tera Ghost boosts the power of Astral Barrage, letting Calyrex-S always OHKO Tera Ghost Incineroar and Ursaluna while also OHKOing Lunala most of the time. Teambuilding Dark-types like Incineroar and Chi-Yu are issues for Calyrex-S, as Calyrex-S has no good way of breaking through them. Farigiraf is another struggle for Calyrex-S thanks to Farigiraf's immunity to Astral Barrage and access to Foul Play. Even with Disable, Zamazenta-C and Lunala are still bothersome for Calyrex-S, with both using Wide Guard and Lunala in particular threatening huge damage into Calyrex-S with Moongeist Beam. Urshifu-R can threaten Calyrex-S, using Tera Water or Tera Stellar to OHKO Calyrex-S with Surging Strikes. Fighting-type Pokemon such as Urshifu-R and Zamazenta-C are great partners for Calyrex-S, providing good coverage into Dark-types while threatening opposing Zamazenta-C, letting Calyrex-S more freely use Astral Barrage. Calyrex-S is able to help these Fighting-type Pokemon by using Astral Barrage to break through Ghost-types like Flutter Mane. Dark-type Pokemon like Chi-Yu and Incineroar are able to break down Farigiraf and Lunala with Dark Pulse and Knock Off, respectively. Chi-Yu has the added benefit of threatening Zamazenta-C thanks to Overheat. Additionally, Chi-Yu's Beads of Ruins allows Calyrex-S to OHKO bulky Calyrex-I with Tera Ghost Astral Barrage and 2HKO Zamazenta-C with Psychic or Astral Barrage. Calyrex-S, in return, can threaten Pokemon like Iron Hands and Urshifu-R, which normally scare off the aforementioned Dark-types. Terapagos and Koraidon both heavily appreciate Focus Sash Calyrex-S's presence, as it threatens Fighting-types for Terapagos and helps out into Ghost-types for Koraidon. With Disable, Calyrex-S can also deny Wide Guard from the likes of Lunala, letting Terapagos freely Terastallize and use Tera Starstorm. This, in conjunction with Encore, can force the Wide Guard user to use Struggle. In return, Terapagos is able to be a reliable switch-in for Ghost-type attacks that heavily threaten Calyrex-S. Koraidon, on the other hand, is able to chunk many threats to Calyrex-S such as Lunala, Zamazenta-C, and Farigiraf, helping create openings for Calyrex-S to sweep. Rillaboom is a good partner to threaten Urshifu-R while also providing Fake Out support. Rillaboom can also use U-turn to chip down Lunala and Farigiraf, notably breaking Lunala's Shadow Shield.

Set Details Calyrex-S is an excellent sweeper, taking advantage of its high Speed and Special Attack coupled with a powerful spread move in Astral Barrage. Calyrex-S is often oppressive because it pressures Pokemon like Koraidon, both Calyrex formes, and Amoonguss to Terastallize to survive its STAB moves and threatens to snowball through teams if allowed to set up with Nasty Plot. On more offensive compositions, such as those with Miraidon and Chi-Yu, Encore can be opted for over Nasty Plot to punish defensive archetypes with Pokemon like Calm Mind Terapagos by discouraging setup. The damage boost from Life Orb is important for securing OHKOs on certain Pokemon such as Koraidon and Amoonguss with Psychic and non-Assault Vest Miraidon and Raging Bolt with Astral Barrage after a Nasty Plot. The Defense investment allows Calyrex-S to survive Tera Fire Flame Charge from Koraidon in the sun and almost always survive Tera Water Surging Strikes from Urshifu-R. Max Speed and a Timid nature are important for at least guaranteeing a Speed tie against opposing Calyrex-S and, by extension, outrunning Chien-Pao, Miraidon, and Koraidon. The remaining EVs are put into Special Attack to maximize its damage output. Tera Dark grants Calyrex-S a resistance to Dark- and Ghost-type moves, which is helpful for Chien-Pao's Sucker Punch, Lunala's Moongeist Beam, Incineroar's Knock Off, and opposing Calyrex-S's Astral Barrage. Teambuilding Many common Pokemon have Ghost- or Dark-type moves that force Calyrex-S to Terastallize, including aforementioned threats like Chien-Pao, Incineroar, and Calyrex-S, as well as others like Miraidon with Snarl and Chi-Yu with both Snarl and Dark Pulse. Choice Scarf Chi-Yu is a major problem because it can outspeed and OHKO Calyrex-S with Dark Pulse or threaten significant damage with Overheat. In sun, Flutter Mane is also a threat because it outspeeds Calyrex-S and can OHKO it with Shadow Ball or Moonblast after Calyrex-S Terastallizes. Farigiraf is problematic because Calyrex-S can't deal much damage to it, while Farigiraf can set up Trick Room, which Calyrex-S struggles to operate under. Grimmsnarl can wall Calyrex-S and set up Light Screen to weaken its damage output while also being able to slow Calyrex-S down with Thunder Wave. Brute Bonnet can easily tank Calyrex-S's attacks and threaten it with Sucker Punch or put it to sleep with Spore. Pokemon with Wide Guard like Zamazenta-C and Lunala prevent Calyrex-S from sweeping with Astral Barrage. Incineroar and Rillaboom are great partners for Calyrex-S, as they provide Fake Out utility that helps it set up. Additionally, Incineroar can reduce foes' damage output with Intimidate and Parting Shot, while Rillaboom can help Calyrex-S withstand Miraidon's attacks by overriding its Terrain. Zamazenta-C is the most common Restricted Pokemon paired with this set because, with Body Press, it threatens Dark- and Normal-types that Calyrex-S struggle to hit like Terapagos, Incineroar, and Brute Bonnet. It also blocks spread moves with Wide Guard, protecting Calyrex-S against moves like Astral Barrage from opposing Calyrex-S, Glacial Lance from Calyrex-I, Heat Wave and Snarl from Chi-Yu, and Water Spout and Origin Pulse from Kyogre. Miraidon is a solid Restricted partner for this set, as both it and Calyrex-S apply fast offensive pressure. Typically, with Chi-Yu on the team boosting their damage, the two special wallbreakers can immediately overwhelm teams. Urshifu-R can also threaten the aforementioned Dark- and Normal-types with Close Combat and Incineroar and Chi-Yu with Surging Strikes. Choice Scarf Urshifu-R can outspeed and deal massive damage to opposing Calyrex-S. Additionally, it can break Chien-Pao's Focus Sash, allowing Calyrex-S to finish it off and receive the Grim Neigh boost. Amoonguss and Ogerpon-H protect Calyrex-S by redirecting attacks with Rage Powder and Follow Me, respectively. Amoonguss can help against Trick Room teams by outspeeding Pokemon like Calyrex-I in Trick Room and putting them to sleep with Spore. Additionally, Amoonguss can redirect Thunder Wave from Grimmsnarl, which isn't as much of an issue for Amoonguss because it is naturally slow. Ogerpon-H can safely redirect Spore from Brute Bonnet and Amoonguss as well as pressure both with Ivy Cudgel.

Nasty Plot Calyrex-S is a superb wallbreaker and sweeper that provides a ton of incredible utility by virtue of its nigh unmatched Speed tier and immense power, keeping an armada of different threats, most notably Necrozma-DM and Koraidon, in check. Grass Knot is crucial coverage that hits Ting-Lu hard, which would otherwise comfortably wall Calyrex-S, and deals extra damage to Arceus-Ground, Arceus-Water, and Kyogre. Psychic OHKOes Koraidon, 2HKOes Eternatus, and is Calyrex-S's strongest option against Arceus. Life Orb is an alternative on hyper offense teams that gives Calyrex-S ludicrous power, letting it OHKO supposed answers like Ho-Oh and Ting-Lu after a Nasty Plot. Tera Stellar boosts Calyrex-S's power just enough to hit multiple important thresholds once boosted, OHKOing Ho-Oh and offensive Arceus, as well as Ting-Lu after two layers of Spikes. Sets lacking a Psychic-type attack can run Tera Ghost to 2HKO Eternatus and Ho-Oh while the lessened Ghost- and Dark-type weaknesses enables Calyrex-S to survive Arceus's Shadow Claw and Ting-Lu's Payback. Balance and bulky offense teams love it for its potency as a wallbreaker that provides immense utility as a revenge killer and by potentially using Encore, whereas it is borderline mandatory on hyper offense due to its unmatched explosivity and Speed. Koraidon is Calyrex-S's best partner on every kind of team, terrifying Arceus and Ting-Lu while amplifying the pressure placed upon Ho-Oh; on bulkier teams, it takes the mantle of being the team's Choice Scarf user that Calyrex-S must forfeit by opting for Nasty Plot, whereas on hyper offense, it backs up Calyrex-S as one of the core setup sweepers and wallbreakers. Ting-Lu is a great partner for its overall immense defensive utility and capability to answer Choice Scarf Calyrex-S, and its Spikes can wear down opposing Ting-Lu and defensive Arceus formes into range for Calyrex-S to KO them. Ho-Oh provides refuge from Choice Scarf Calyrex-S and Koraidon, the most common revenge killers of Calyrex-S, as well as checking Arceus and Ting-Lu. Ho-Oh is a major nuisance for Calyrex-S, so switch-ins to it like Eternatus or Arceus-Water are important to have. On hyper offense, suicide leads like Deoxys-S, Ribombee, and Glimmora can set entry hazards to weaken foes for Calyrex-S and its teammates or—in Ribombee's case—hinder revenge killers.

Most forms of balance and bulky offense should consider adding Choice Scarf Calyrex-S, as it provides teams with a reliable option to revenge kill Scale Shot Koraidon. Calyrex-S being a team's Choice Scarf user can give Koraidon the freedom to use a different item. Calyrex-S synergizes well with Pokemon that can take advantage of Astral Barrage switch-ins like Arceus, Arceus-Dark, and Ting-Lu. Powerful wallbreakers such as Koraidon, Zacian-C, and Kyogre are capable of this. Partners that can wear down Ting-Lu throughout the game, such as Eternatus and Miraidon, can help ease the burden on Calyrex-S. Because Ho-Oh can pivot into Calyrex-S's moves, wallbreakers such as Swords Dance Koraidon, offensive Ho-Oh, and Necrozma-DM that can wear Ho-Oh down serve as excellent teammates. Calyrex-S appreciates support from entry hazard setters, namely Ting-Lu and Eternatus, in order to secure KOs late-game. Arceus-Water is a reliable defensive switch-in to Arceus and Ho-Oh, and it can stop any offensive momentum they gain at Calyrex-S's expense.

Grass Knot most importantly 2HKOes Ting-Lu, as well as pressuring neutral targets like Arceus and OHKOing Arceus-Water and Arceus-Ground after entry hazard damage. Psychic 2HKOes Arceus, while Psyshock 2HKOes offensive Ho-Oh, has a better chance of OHKOing Eternatus, and hits Pokemon such as Blissey. Trick + Choice Specs debilitates Calyrex-S's checks like Ho-Oh, Ting-Lu, and Arceus by removing the longevity their items grant them and forcing them to attack. Tera Ghost allows Astral Barrage to 2HKO Ting-Lu with less chip damage, OHKO Ho-Oh with an As One boost, and OHKO Necrozma-DM with a neutral Tera type, in addition to 2HKOing Ho-Oh and defensive Arceus formes after Calyrex-S loses its Choice Specs because of Trick. Tera Grass gives Grass Knot a good chance of OHKOing Ting-Lu after hazard damage and lets it 2HKO Arceus; Tera Grass also grants Calyrex-S a resistance to Dragon Dance Arceus-Ground's Earthquake. Tera Normal prevents revenge killing attempts from opposing Calyrex-S. All three Tera types also allow Calyrex-S to survive attacks like Ting-Lu's Payback and Arceus's Shadow Claw, though the latter two make it vulnerable to Arceus's Extreme Speed. Calyrex-S is best used on balance and bulky offense teams, where it can pressure various defensive Pokemon and rely on its teammates to deal with revenge killers. Koraidon can threaten Ting-Lu and Arceus for Calyrex-S and use U-turn to safely bring it in against Pokemon it threatens like Arceus-Water and Arceus-Ground; additionally, the pair can wear down Ho-Oh for each other. Similarly, Zacian-C and Calyrex-S can deal with each other's checks and overwhelm Ho-Oh together. Kyogre threatens Ting-Lu and Ho-Oh for Calyrex-S, which can pressure Eternatus for it. Necrozma-DM appreciates Calyrex-S weakening Ting-Lu and Ho-Oh and threatening its checks like Arceus-Water and Arceus-Ground; in return, it can somewhat deal with Arceus and potentially lure in and KO Ho-Oh with Stone Edge. Ho-Oh can switch into Arceus, Choice Scarf Calyrex-S, and Ting-Lu, and Calyrex-S can deal with two of Ho-Oh's primary checks in Eternatus and Arceus-Water. Ting-Lu can also check Choice Scarf Calyrex-S, as well as wearing foes down into Calyrex-S's KO range via Spikes, which it potentially trades with opposing Ting-Lu. Miraidon and Calyrex-S can weaken Ting-Lu for each other, and Miraidon can switch into and threaten Ho-Oh. Defensive Arceus formes—namely Arceus-Water, Arceus-Ground, and Arceus-Fairy—can check Choice Scarf Koraidon and Arceus, and the former can also deal with Ho-Oh.

Tera Fairy Calyrex-S is one of the most threatening setup sweepers on hyper offense and offense teams that trades immediate pressure and firepower for the ability to slowly overwhelm and snowball through opposing teams. Tera Fairy removes Calyrex-S's weakness to Ghost- and Dark-type moves like Extreme Killer Arceus's Shadow Claw, Giratina-O's Shadow Sneak, Ting-Lu's Payback, and Kingambit's Sucker Punch while also making it immune to Koraidon's Outrage and Scale Shot. Draining Kiss and Leftovers allow Calyrex-S to out-heal damage from Ting-Lu's Ruination and Arceus's Extreme Speed after a Nasty Plot and Terastallization, simultaneously inflicting heavy damage to both. Astral Barrage enables near-perfect coverage with Draining Kiss, hitting Steel- and Fire-types like Necrozma-DM, Zacian-C, and Ho-Oh for massive damage, notably OHKOing the former two at +2. Taunt prevents Ting-Lu, Ho-Oh, and Mandibuzz from phazing Calyrex-S by Whirlwind and Arceus from setting up Swords Dance on Calyrex-S. It also stops status spreaders like Thunder Wave Arceus-Fairy, Toxic Eternatus, and Toxic Mandibuzz from crippling Calyrex-S with paralysis and poison, letting Calyrex-S set up freely on the latter two with Tera Fairy. The EV spread lets Calyrex-S survive Adamant Choice Scarf Koraidon's Flare Blitz from full HP while sun is up, and maximum Speed investment allows Calyrex-S to outspeed Zacian-C and speed tie with opposing Calyrex-S. However, this set is overly reliant on Terastallization and setup to break past checks like Ting-Lu, Arceus, and Mandibuzz, as it cannot do significant damage to them without Terastallizing due to non-STAB Draining Kiss's low Base Power. Tera Fairy Calyrex-S fits primarily on hyper offense teams where it can utilize dual screens to set up safely. Thus, Grimmsnarl is an excellent partner for Calyrex-S, providing dual screens support with Prankster safely bringing in Calyrex-S with Parting Shot. As Calyrex-S is not holding Heavy-Duty Boots, it is prone to entry hazards. Glimmora helps to patch this weakness by clearing entry hazards via Mortal Spin and also switching in to Choice Scarf Koraidon's Flare Blitz, Arceus's Shadow Claw, and Ho-Oh's Sacred Fire while setting up Toxic Spikes to help Calyrex-S wallbreak easier. Similarly, Hatterene's Magic Bounce prevents Spikes and Toxic Spikes from the aforementioned hazard setters like Ting-Lu, Eternatus, Glimmora, and Gliscor. Hatterene also helps to maintain the momentum with Baton Pass, bringing in Calyrex-S safely and also passing on Calm Mind boosts. Due to the reliance on Terastallization to properly function as a sweeper, Calyrex-S appreciates teammates that can punch holes early-game without needing to Terastallize such as Life Orb Miraidon, Swords Dance Zacian-C, Arceus, Swords Dance Koraidon, and Dragon Dance Arceus-Ground. In particular, Miraidon heavily pressures Ting-Lu and threatens Ho-Oh, paving the way for Calyrex-S to sweep late-game. Tera Normal Arceus with Mental Herb also ignores Taunt and threatens an OHKO on Calyrex-S at +2 with Extreme Speed if Reflect is not up. As such, Zacian-C is a great partner that forces Arceus out due to the latter fearing boosted attacks from Zacian-C. Calyrex-S is also unable to OHKO bulkier variants of Kyogre at +2, and Kyogre deals huge damage to Calyrex-S back with rain-boosted Origin Pulse or cripples it with Thunder Wave. Choice Scarf sets can outspeed and OHKO Calyrex-S with Water Spout, hence Koraidon that can switch in on Kyogre's Water-type attacks is a good teammate. Similarly, Miraidon can take a few hits from Kyogre and is immune to Thunder Wave. However, Ice Beam is capable of 2HKOing both. Calyrex-S is vulnerable to getting reverse swept by Ditto and gets forced out by opposing Choice Scarf Calyrex-S; therefore, Arceus makes up for a valuable partner by switching in to Astral Barrage. In return, Calyrex-S can take advantage of common switch-ins to Arceus like Arceus-Fairy, Arceus-Water, and Alomomola to set up Nasty Plot.

Calyrex-S is a a devastating user of Encore thanks to its regal Speed stat, which when combined with Substitute, lets it turn the tables on common Sucker Punch users like Chien-Pao and Urshifu-S! Draining Kiss: While Tera Blast Fairy is certainly feasible, Draining Kiss's healing factor, when combined with Leftovers, makes it worth the power drop. Leftovers: While Calyrex-S doesn't tend to focus on bulk, Encore and Substitute work together to make it last long enough on the field for Leftovers to have an impact. Tera Types Tera Dependency: Medium: Calyrex-S can effectively use Encore and Substitute to avoid the worst of its common Dark and Ghost weaknesses, but Terastallization provides an extra layer of flexibility that still makes it a strong option. Fairy: While other Tera types like Normal are feasible, Draining Kiss is important enough on this set that Tera Fairy is by far the best option, especially for the important resistance to Dark.

As One combines with a Choice item to either turn Calyrex-S into a revenge killer or potent cleaner. Psyshock versus Psychic: Psyshock is usually the best option for a secondary STAB move, since it allows even Choice Scarf Calyrex-S to usually 2HKO Blissey, a problem for Calyrex-S on stall teams otherwise. Psychic is much stronger against Koraidon though, with Choice Scarf sets being able to OHKO offensive Koraidon that aren't Terastallized with it. Draining Kiss versus Tera Blast: Despite its low Base Power, Draining Kiss is still enough to cleave through Chien-Pao and restores a good amount of HP when using Tera Fairy. However, Tera Blast's higher Base Power makes it a reasonable alternative for this set, with Tera Blast Fairy letting Choice Scarf Calyrex-S 2HKO Chi-Yu in particular. Trick: Trick is an effective way of punishing Calyrex-S's more defensive checks, with Ting-Lu in particular loathing it. Just note that most Blissey can get around Trick by using Fling, so this is not entirely reliable against stall teams. Choice Scarf versus Choice Specs: Calyrex-S's insane Speed might make Choice Scarf seem like overkill, but gaining the ability to outspeed Choice Scarf Koraidon and Miraidon, as well as Speed-boosted Flutter Mane and Iron Bundle, is an extremely rare and valuable quality for a Choice Scarf revenge killer. Choice Specs is still worth considering for its impressive wallbreaking power though, especially since Psyshock cleanly 2HKOes Blissey. Other Options Future Sight: Future Sight is an interesting tool against defensive teams, as if you force out special walls with strong physical Pokemon, Calyrex-S's Future Sight is likely to deal a huge amount of damage to their response later! Expanding Force: If using Calyrex-S on a Psychic Surge team with Indeedee-M, Expanding Force outdamages even Astral Barrage! Just note that Miraidon and Rillaboom are common enough that maintaining the boosted Expanding Force can be tricky. Nasty Plot or Calm Mind: If using Trick, it's feasible to carry a setup move over a Psychic-type STAB move, especially if certain defensive foes like Ting-Lu have been saddled with it. However, setting up still should not be the main purpose of this set, as Encore does a better job of facilitating that. Tera Types Tera Dependency: High: With no Encore or Focus Sash to get around this, Calyrex-S's Dark and Ghost weaknesses are highly exploitable, meaning Terastallization is often key to stopping a revenge kill. Fairy: Tera Fairy is the best crown to be wearing against Dark-types like Chien-Pao, making Draining Kiss viable as a bonus. Fighting: Tera Fighting is an alternative to Fairy, making Calyrex-S more vulnerable to Flutter Mane in exchange for OHKOing Chi-Yu with Tera Blast. Just note that being locked into Tera Blast Fighting is a problem against other Ghost-types. Normal: Tera Normal is a niche option, since it provides no offensive benefit, but it can be useful for Choice Specs Calyrex-S to dodge an OHKO from Choice Scarf Calyrex-S and Flutter Mane with a Speed boost.

With absurd offensive stats and an ability that takes that further, Calyrex-S is the king of sweeping in Battle Stadium Singles! Draining Kiss: Despite the low Base Power, Draining Kiss deals plenty of damage to Dark-types like Chien-Pao, especially if using Tera Fairy. Psyshock versus Psychic: Psyshock is preferred for the massive damage potential against Blissey, but Psychic will OHKO Koraidon. Encore: Calyrex-S is able to outspeed any relevant foe without a Choice Scarf, making Encore an especially dangerous option even if it comes at the cost of a Psychic-type STAB move or setup option. Lum Berry: Lum Berry severely punishes bulky users of Yawn such as Ursaluna-B and Hippowdon, as well as stopping Booster Energy Flutter Mane from hitting Tera Fairy Calyrex-S with Thunder Wave. Spell Tag: While mostly outclassed by Life Orb, Spell Tag makes sense if another teammate needs Life Orb more. Tera Types Tera Dependency: Medium / Low: Calyrex-S's typing makes it extremely vulnerable to Sucker Punch from the likes of Chien-Pao and faster Ghost-type attacks from foes like Booster Energy Flutter Mane, making Terastallization a gateway into opening up sweeps. However, if using Focus Sash, this becomes less important. Fairy: Tera Fairy Calyrex-S's crown jewel for Tera types, giving it a key resistance to Dark, as well as turning Draining Kiss into a reasonable secondary armament. Fighting: Tera Fighting is a good alternative to Tera Fairy because it offers similar advantages against Dark-types with the bonus of dealing massive damage to Ursaluna-B and Chi-Yu with Tera Blast, as well as not being weak to Scizor's Bullet Punch. Normal: While a more niche Tera type due to its lack of offensive benefits, Tera Normal can be paired with Encore to ambush Ghost-type revenge killers like Flutter Mane and opposing Calyrex-S. Ghost: Tera Ghost makes Astral Barrage into a terrifying sweeping move, but the lack of any defensive benefits makes it a niche option, especially when not using Focus Sash.

With access to both Calm Mind and Agility, Calyrex-S can become a terrifying sweeper capable of outspeeding even opposing Choice Scarf Pokemon while maintaining exceptional power and good bulk. Draining Kiss versus Giga Drain: Draining Kiss and Giga Drain both provide coverage and a form of recovery. Draining Kiss allows Calyrex-S to threaten the Dark-types that would switch into Astral Barrage, while Giga Drain threatens the likes of Ursaluna-B more immediately. Calm Mind versus Nasty Plot: Calm Mind trades out Nasty Plot's more immediate boost to give Calyrex-S more survivability. Agility: Agility lets Calyrex-S punish switches to faster threats like Choice Scarf Koraidon, Miraidon, and Booster Energy Flutter Mane by suddenly outspeeding them and threatening a sweep. Items Sitrus Berry: Sitrus Berry allows Calyrex-S to set up more safely in the face of threats like Ursaluna-B, giving it a better shot at a successful sweep. Lum Berry: Lum Berry lets Calyrex-S set up in the face of status users like Eternatus, Dondozo, and Gliscor, allowing it more opportunities to mount a sweep against bulkier teams. Tera Types Tera Dependecy - High: Although its base typing has advantages like an immunity to Extreme Speed, Calyrex-S will often need to Terastallize to maintain its longevity and mitigate its weakness against common threats. Fairy: Tera Fairy grants Calyrex-S a valuable resistance to Dark-type attacks such as Chien-Pao's Sucker Punch and boosts the power of Draining Kiss, allowing it to more easily threaten foes like Ting-Lu. Grass: Tera Grass strengthens Giga Drain's power, dealing solid damage to Ting-Lu and Ursaluna-B. It also grants Calyrex-S the benefit of resisting Miraidon’s Electro Drift and Ground-type attacks. However, it becomes more vulnerable to Ice-type moves like Calyrex-I's Glacial Lance and Chien-Pao's Icicle Crash and Ice Shard. Water: Tera Water grants a resistance to Koraidon's Flare Blitz and Scizor's Bullet Punch and can be used with Tera Blast to deal massive damage to threats like Ursaluna-B and Chi-Yu. EV Spreads 172 HP / 252 Def / 60 SpA / 4 SpD / 20 Spe with Modest: With Sitrus Berry, this spread can allow Calyrex-S withstand Chien Pao’s Icicle Crash and Ice Shard.
