Analysis

Assault Vest turns Copperajah into a solid wallbreaker and allows it to better handle special attackers such as Meloetta and Goodra. Knock Off lets Copperajah remove Heavy-Duty Boots from Scyther and Tornadus while catching Chandelure and Uxie on the switch in. Earthquake is a vital coverage move to hit Electric- and Poison-types such as Bellibolt and Galarian Slowbro while allowing it to pick off Incineroar, Duraludon, and opposing Copperajah. Supercell Slam provides a way to damage Flying- and Water-types like Tornadus and Vaporeon, whereas Play Rough is an option to better hit Fighting- and Dragon-types such as Flamigo, Flygon, and Goodra. Copperajah can run two different EV spreads; the first one ensures that it outpaces defensive Sylveon and non-Speed invested Incineroar. Alternatively, the second spread provides Copperajah more bulk to tank hits from Inteleon and Munkidori while still outspeeding Bellibolt. Tera Dragon lets Copperajah resist Fire-type attacks from Chandelure, Incineroar, and Salazzle, but this comes at the price of failing against bad matchups such as Sylveon, Duraludon, and Goodra. Tera Fairy provides an immunity to Dragon-type attacks from Goodra while improving the matchup against Fighting-types like Paldean Tauros-W and Flamigo. However, Copperajah loses the ability to check Munkidori and Galarian Slowbro. Due to Copperajah's lack of recovery, it appreciates Wish support from the likes of Vaporeon and Scream Tail, allowing it to repeatedly switch in on Dudunsparce's Boomburst, Duraludon and Goodra's Draco Meteor, and Munkidori's attacks. Scream Tail can also provide Thunder Wave support to paralyze the likes of Brambleghast and Meloetta, as well as Encore to cripple Bulk Up Scrafty and Calm Mind Raikou. In return, Copperajah is able to switch in on the Poison-type attacks from Munkidori while checking both it and Uxie with Knock Off. Physically defensive teammates such as Houndstone and Galarian Slowbro can complement Copperajah's Assault Vest-boosted Special Defense by helping against the stronger physical attackers like Choice-locked Flygon and Tidy Up Cinccino. Houndstone, in particular, can neuter the former two with Will-O-Wisp. In return, Copperajah is able to threaten attackers like Munkidori and Raikou that otherwise threaten Houndstone. Since Copperajah finds itself forced out by Fire-type attackers such as Chandelure and Incineroar, it appreciates Water- and Dragon-type teammates such as Vaporeon, Swampert, and Goodra to independently check them. It is also complemented by Ghost- and Psychic-types like Basculegion-M, Brambleghast, and Uxie, which are able to check Choice item Infernape and Paldean Tauros-W that are locked into Close Combat. Ground-types like Flygon and Rhyperior force Copperajah to switch or use its Tera; thus, it partners well with Grass- and Water-types like Brambleghast, Tsareena, and Vaporeon to handle the aforementioned threats. It also appreciates entry hazard support from Flygon and Gligar, utilizing its Knock Off to remove Heavy-Duty Boots from hazard-weak foes like Incineroar while wearing them down with Stealth Rock and Spikes, respectively.

Analysis

Set Details Knock Off allows Copperajah to target item-reliant foes like Chandelure, Kilowattrel, and Incineroar. For its last move, Copperajah commonly runs Whirlwind, allowing it to phaze bulky setup sweepers like Calm Mind Dudunsparce and Sylveon. Alternatively, Protect allows Copperajah to scout out Choice item attackers like Flygon, Flamigo, and Munkidori and gives it more Leftovers recovery. Earthquake hits Fire- and Poison-types like Chandelure and Galarian Slowbro and Steel-types like Duraludon, Klefki, and opposing Copperajah. The Speed investment allows Copperajah to outpace Bronzong. Tera Dragon gives Copperajah a useful resistance to Fire-type attacks from foes like Chandelure and Scovillain, while Tera Fairy gives it a better matchup against Flygon and Fighting-types like Flamigo and Scrafty. Wish passers like Vaporeon and Sylveon provide massive recovery for Copperajah, letting it repeatedly switch into foes like Munkidori and Dudunsparce. Copperajah best synergizes with physical walls like Galarian Slowbro, Bellibolt, and Vaporeon, as they can handle physical wallbreakers like Toxicroak, Paldean Tauros-W, and Basculegion-M. In return, Copperajah checks special wallbreakers like Munkidori, Kilowattrel, and Sylveon. Copperajah is forced out by Fire-types like Chandelure and Hisuian Typhlosion, as they can destroy it with their Fire-type attacks. Thus, it pairs well with Water- and Dragon-types like Vaporeon and Goodra to check them. Copperajah also appreciates partners like Sylveon, Gligar, and Swampert, as they can handle checks like Heracross, Flygon, and Incineroar. Wallbreakers such as Flygon, Overqwil, and Paldean Tauros-W appreciate Copperajah's strength, since unlike other Steel-types such as Bronzong and Klefki, it can wear down physical walls like Gligar, Galarian Slowbro, and Swampert.
