Drain Punch provides good coverage against Ferroseed and OHKOes Pawniard. Knock Off is a noteworthy mention that lets +2 Grookey OHKO Natu, but it worsens Grookey's matchup against Pawniard. The Defense boost from Grassy Seed allows Grookey to survive Trapinch's First Impression. This set works exceptionally well when paired up with Mienfoo, which can bring Grookey in safely with U-turn and help soften up checks in Koffing, Natu, and Ponyta.
