Lokix Movesets & Competitive Sets

Lokix uses First Impression to effectively remove offensive Pokemon like Ogerpon-C, Greninja, Latios, and Zarude. Tinted Lens prevents some of the aforementioned threats from Terastallizing to survive First Impression and lets Lokix still do considerable damage to Bug-resistant foes such as Thundurus-T. For example, Tera Bug First Impression will still be able to KO Tera Steel Latios after a bit of chip damage. Knock Off is good for punishing common switch-ins such as Skarmory, and Sucker Punch allows Lokix to pick off faster threats even after its first turn on the field. This can be important for many fast defensive Pokemon that can sponge a First Impression, like Tornadus-T. Taunt allows Lokix to keep foes like Skarmory and Fezandipiti low. Tera Bug is crucial in order to effectively KO threats such as Excadrill and Thundurus-T. Heavy-Duty Boots is important, as it allows Lokix to come in multiple times even in the presence of Stealth Rock. An Adamant nature is used to maximize First Impression damage. Lokix fits very well on balance and offense structures, playing the important role of revenge killing many threats. Pokemon like Latios and Greninja appreciate Lokix using U-turn to safely bring them in versus Cobalion, Skarmory, and Heatran. Lokix enjoys being paired with Slowking, as Slowking is able to use Chilly Reception to safely bring Lokix in on Pokemon that threaten Slowking, like Zarude and Greninja. In return, Slowking can help handle Pokemon that Lokix struggles with, like Heatran and Keldeo. Lokix, in general, likes to pair with other pivots. Heavy-Duty Boots Thundurus-T and Tornadus-T are able to check Skarmory and Cobalion for Lokix. Defensive pivots such as Slowking and Rotom-W can check threats such as Tornadus-T for Lokix and bring it in on Pokemon like Zarude. Entry hazard setters, such as Skarmory and Gastrodon, appreciate Lokix's ability to remove foes' Heavy-Duty Boots, and they can check Pokemon like opposing Lokix, Revavroom, and Heatran.

Swords Dance Lokix is a powerful sweeping threat in UU by virtue of its access to Tinted Lens and highly useful STAB moves. Sucker Punch provides Lokix with strong priority against faster foes such as Latios, Thundurus, and Keldeo. Knock Off pressures slower Pokemon such as Sinistcha and wears down defensive switch-ins such as Fezandipiti and Cobalion by removing their items. Protect prevents opposing Lokix from revenge killing Swords Dance Lokix with First Impression. Alternatively, First Impression can be used as a powerful revenge killing tool against Latios, opposing Lokix, and Weavile, among other fast threats. Black Glasses powers up Lokix's Dark-type attacks, allowing +2 Sucker Punch to OHKO Thundurus. Heavy-Duty Boots patches up its weakness to entry hazards at the cost of some damage output. A Jolly nature maximizes Lokix's Speed stat, though an Adamant nature can boost its power even further at the expense of no longer outspeeding Pokemon like Excadrill, Hisuian Arcanine, and opposing Adamant Lokix. Tera Dark is the optimal choice for powering up Lokix's Dark-type STAB moves, allowing it to OHKO Tinkaton and Tera Fairy Slowking at +2. Swords Dance Lokix fits well on various offensive teams capable of maximizing its potential. Lokix fits particularly well on screens-based hyper offenses thanks to dual screens allowing it to set up more reliably, making Alolan Ninetales and Grimmsnarl alluring teammates. Entry hazard support from Pokemon like Sandy Shocks and Hisuian Arcanine can help Lokix more reliably break through opposing teams. The latter can additionally provide early-game wallbreaking support, allowing Lokix to clean up with Sucker Punch late-game. Other wallbreakers, such as Latios and Choice Specs Hydrapple, can also be helpful partners for this reason. Entry hazard removal is helpful if Lokix isn't running Heavy-Duty Boots, making Excadrill and Donphan useful teammates.

Thanks to Tinted Lens, Swords Dance Lokix can break through the sturdiest walls the tier has to offer such as Toxapex and Gliscor. Although First Impression can only be used once per switch-in, it remains a solid option to revenge kill Roaring Moon and Ogerpon-W. Conversely, Leech Life forgoes the priority effect for consistency, being able to 2HKO Toxapex and defensive Gouging Fire at +2. Sucker Punch OHKOes Choice Specs Dragapult, Latios, and Choice Scarf Iron Boulder while also OHKOing Meowscarada and Greninja at +2. Lastly, Knock Off deals with Gholdengo, can OHKO specially defensive Heatran and Hisuian Goodra at +2 with Stealth Rock up, and removes Heavy-Duty Boots and Leftovers from walls such as Toxapex and Archaludon. Heavy-Duty Boots can be chosen to improve Lokix's longevity and let it switch in multiple times, although its raw power will be hampered in the process. An Adamant nature lets Lokix secure an OHKO on Barraskewda with First Impression, as well as OHKOing specially defensive Corviknight with Knock Off at +2 after Stealth Rock, but this comes at the cost of being outsped by Ceruledge, Jolly Mamoswine, and Great Tusk. Lokix benefits much from its teammates breaking holes in the opposing team. Thanks to Bullet Punch and great physical coverage options in Close Combat and Trailblaze, Scizor can lead the offensive in matchups that Lokix struggles with such as Fairy and Rock as well as be a driving force in the Steel matchup. In return, Lokix helps Scizor to break the Steel defensive core by taking care of Gholdengo. Choice Scarf Kleavor supports Lokix's rampage with Stone Axe and provides an edge in the Fire matchup by wrecking Volcarona, Cinderace, and Ninetales. Bulky Quiver Dance Volcarona is an incredible teammate for Lokix, as it can set up on Pokemon that would otherwise prove deadly for Lokix such as Skarmory and Iron Hands, spread burns to physical attackers to facilitate Lokix's setup, and swiftly remove opposing Scizor and Archaludon. Similarly, Frosmoth can set up on special sweepers that Lokix cannot reliably OHKO like Raging Bolt, Kyurem, and non-Choice Specs Flutter Mane, eliminating the physical walls that would prevent Lokix from sweeping in the process. Being prone to entry hazard damage, Lokix appreciates Forretress's ability to remove them from the field. Forretress also supports Lokix by setting up Spikes and slow pivoting in Lokix while being bulky enough to come in on opposing Lokix. Araquanid is another key support Pokemon for Lokix, as it can set Sticky Web to let Lokix outspeed Choice Scarf Kleavor as well as checking Volcarona and Ninetales and KO them back. Other Sticky Web users include Galvantula and Ribombee. Galvantula improves the Water matchup with its access to Energy Ball to hit Swampert and Gastrodon, while Ribombee comes with a solid Speed tier to guarantee Sticky Web setup and the ability to paralyze targets.

Lokix is a strong, albeit niche revenge killer and setup sweeper thanks to its STAB combination with priority in First Impression and Sucker Punch. Leech Life provides healing for Lokix, letting it gain longevity that consequently helps it set up and snowball more easily. Knock Off neuters Pokemon that are reliant on Heavy-Duty Boots, especially Toxapex and Moltres that try to switch in on it. Sucker Punch allows Lokix to pick off Dragapult, Flutter Mane, and Spectrier as well as Psychic-types, notably Iron Boulder, and revenge killers such as Choice Scarf Meowscarada. Silver Powder boosts Lokix's STAB Bug-type moves with +2 Leech Life OHKOing Ting-Lu after Stealth Rock and First Impression OHKOing bulky Darkrai. Life Orb is an alternative option that lets it obtain the KOs it wouldn't normally obtain with Silver Powder, like Sucker Punch OHKOing Choice Band Excadrill at +2. An Adamant nature can be used for maximum damage output, but Jolly ensures that it outspeeds Timid Gholdengo and Hisuian Samurott. Mandibuzz is an excellent partner, providing entry hazard removal via Defog and slow U-turn support to bring Lokix in safely, and it checks foes that Lokix struggles with, particularly Ogerpon-H and Scizor with Foul Play. In return, Mandibuzz appreciates Lokix checking opposing Meowscarada and Weavile. Lokix appreciates entry hazard support from Ting-Lu and Hisuian Samurott, letting it grasp the KOs it wouldn't normally get, namely First Impression having a roll to OHKO Ogerpon-H after Stealth Rock with Life Orb. Ting-Lu's titanic Special Defense lets it check such foes as Heatran, Choice Scarf Iron Valiant, and Choice Scarf Archaludon. Hisuian Samurott's excellent Ceaseless Edge and Water typing also provide a ton of utility. Not to mention, its access to Sacred Sword lets it threaten Archaludon and Heatran, and Aqua Cutter allows it to weaken Moltres and Skarmory, all of which Lokix struggles with. Choice Specs Greninja and Choice Scarf Meowscarada form a great offensive core with Lokix. Greninja destroys Fire- and Fairy-types such as Volcarona, Primarina, and Iron Valiant and can support Lokix by luring in special walls, notably Hisuian Goodra and Galarian Slowking. On the flip side, Lokix can threaten Flutter Mane and Meowscarada with its STAB moves. Choice Scarf Meowscarada provides excellent speed control, and with its coverage selection, it can threaten Dragon- and Flying-types, such as Dragonite, non-Choice Scarf Dragapult, Enamorus, and the Landorus formes.

Armed with its unique Dark typing, Lokix can look to KO dangerous threats to Bug like Dragapult, Roaring Moon, and Choice Scarf Gholdengo with its powerful priority moves in Sucker Punch and First Impression. U-turn allows Lokix to pivot against walls or checks to it like Toxapex and Heatran, allowing its teammates to come in safely. Knock Off is used as its primary Dark-type STAB move due to its overall power and utility in removing key items from Pokemon like Skarmory's Rocky Helmet or Leftovers and Archaludon's Leftovers. Life Orb allows Lokix to hit the hardest it can against Pokemon like Brambleghast and Gholdengo, which it cannot threaten OHKOs against without it. Heavy-Duty Boots can be used instead to allow Lokix to operate with entry hazards present on the field. Silver Powder is also a strong option that allows Lokix to get a good power boost to its Bug-type STAB move without needing to suffer from Life Orb recoil while also allowing Lokix to bluff having a Choice item. Lokix appreciates the support of Pokemon that give it opportunities to come into the field safely, so Forretress and its Volt Switch work very well with it. Forretress also comes with the added benefit of removing entry hazards and giving Lokix hazards to work with, notably three layers of Spikes allowing Lokix to comfortably check Flutter Mane. Offensive pivots like Scizor, Kleavor, and Slither Wing all work well with Lokix, as they form a strong U-turn core that bombards the opposing team with strong U-turns as well as their powerful secondary STAB moves. Scizor hits Fairy-types like Flutter Mane and Iron Valiant incredibly hard, while Choice Scarf Kleavor destroys Fire- and Flying-types like Ninetales, Ogerpon-H, and Tornadus-T with ease. Slither Wing can also assist with the First Impression pressure while also using its Fighting-type STAB move to break down troublesome Steel-types like Hisuian Goodra and Heatran. Volcarona in particular appreciates Lokix getting rid of offensive checks to it like Roaring Moon and Gallade, as they can stifle its sweep very easily. Araquanid is also an excellent teammate, as its invaluable Sticky Web support allows Lokix to outspeed several Pokemon that would normally outrun it, such as non-Choice Scarf Flutter Mane and Iron Crown.

Lokix functions as a revenge killer, leveraging its strong priority options to keep offensive threats in check. First Impression is Lokix’s main weapon, boasting immense power and benefiting from Tinted Lens, which allows it to deal heavy damage even to Bug-resistant foes. Knock Off provides excellent utility by removing key defensive items such as Heavy-Duty Boots and Leftovers from common switch-ins like Corviknight and Zapdos, making them easier to wear down throughout the game. Sucker Punch complements First Impression by granting Lokix a secondary priority move, and U-turn rounds out the set by allowing Lokix to maintain momentum and safely bring in teammates like Hisuian Electrode and Gholdengo that can threaten Lokix's checks. Heavy-Duty Boots ensures Lokix can pivot in and out throughout the match, although Silver Powder can be used as an alternative when the team has entry hazard removal. Tera Bug further enhances Lokix's revenge killing power, turning First Impression into a nuke that can even threaten neutral targets after minimal chip damage. Lokix appreciates high-Attack gods such as Ho-Oh and Necrozma-DM, which greatly amplify its First Impression damage and improve its revenge killing reliability. However, Lokix can also pair well with lower-Attack gods like Kyurem-W and Arceus, as it benefits from any Attack boost while offering valuable priority and pivoting support in return. Lokix fits best on slower balance and bulky offense teams that struggle with faster offensive threats, as it provides a reliable emergency button against sweepers like Roaring Moon, Ogerpon-W, and Darkrai. In return, the defensive teammates give Lokix the turns it needs to wear down opposing checks. Lokix thrives alongside pivoting partners that can get it onto the field safely. Offensive pivots like Hisuian Electrode form strong VoltTurn cores that apply continuous pressure, while defensive pivots such as Rotom-W and Corviknight can take hits and bring Lokix in safely for revenge kills. Because of the lack of a boosting item, Lokix appreciates chip damage to push targets into OHKO range. Thus, teammates able to provide passive chip damage such as Garganacl and Sinistcha make good partners. Furthermore, entry hazard support from setters such as Skarmory, Clefable, and Ting-Lu are very appreciated, especially since Lokix's Knock Off removes foes' Heavy-Duty Boots, allowing its team's hazards to be more effective.

Lokix stands out as an offensive pivot thanks to Tinted Lens allowing it to pressure standard U-turn switch-ins such as Buzzwole and Aegislash far more consistently than other pivots. Its powerful offensive typing also lets it wear down threats such as Scizor, Tyranitar, and Slowbro. Lokix sports good priority moves such as First Impression and Sucker Punch, which allow it to revenge kill threats such as Mega Latias, Iron Boulder, and Alakazam. Knock Off allows Lokix to force progress against Buzzwole, Clefable, and Celesteela by removing their Leftovers while also being able to punish more offensive checks such as Iron Moth and Mienshao for switching in. Leech Life can be an alternative to Sucker Punch to retain Lokix's longevity against bulkier teams. As a pivot, Lokix values Heavy-Duty Boots to prevent it from being worn down from entry hazards as it comes in and out of the field. Lokix typically runs an Adamant nature to maximize its power, but a Jolly nature can be run to pivot against Excadrill more easily; however, it doesn't have many uses aside from that. Despite having Tinted Lens and a solid offensive typing, many physical walls like Skarmory, Clefable, and Mega Venusaur can still easily halt Lokix's progress, so strong special attackers such as Victini, Alakazam, and Iron Moth can easily serve to deal with them. Other Pokemon that 4x resist Lokix's moves like Iron Moth can still be a chore for Lokix to face, since they can switch in on its Bug-type moves and immediately threaten Lokix and its team with their high-powered attacks. To rectify this, partnering Lokix with threats such as Iron Boulder is necessary to properly deal with with those respective foes. All of them greatly appreciate Lokix's ability to pivot and safely get them onto the field in return. Magnezone in particular is a great partner to easily dispatch Skarmory, Celesteela, and Scizor for Lokix. Entry hazard setters such as Skarmory and Clefable are also good partners to help Lokix break threats such as Mega Venusaur.

Access to Swords Dance, a nearly unresisted STAB combination thanks to Tinted Lens, and priority options in Sucker Punch and First Impression make Lokix an excellent wallbreaker and cleaner for Bug teams. Leech Life allows Lokix to take advantage of and beat passive walls, 2HKOing Gliscor, Blissey, and Ting-Lu at +2 while keeping itself healthy. Knock Off lets Lokix makes progress against defensive switch-ins like Archaludon, Skarmory, and Great Tusk by removing their items. Alternatively, First Impression is an excellent tool to pick off faster threats like Alolan Raichu, Greninja, and Ogerpon-W. Sucker Punch lets Lokix function as an effective late-game sweeper, picking off weakened threats like Iron Boulder, Sneasler, and Tapu Koko or outright KOing them at +2. Furthermore, when boosted by Darkinium Z, it allows Lokix to KO or heavily dent walls like Heatran, Mega Sableye, and Celesteela. Choice Scarf Kleavor uses its Rock typing to serve as a revenge killer that targets Flying- and Fire-types like Tornadus-T, Mega Charizard Y, and Cinderace while also setting Stealth Rock with Stone Axe. Araquanid and Galvantula provide Sticky Web support, allowing Lokix to outspeed threats like the Ogerpon formes, Mega Gallade, and Nidoking. Araquanid leverages its high special bulk and Fire resistance to handle foes like Volcarona and Iron Moth, while Galvantula pressures Flying- and Water-types like Skarmory and Toxapex. Volcarona threatens Steel-types like Skarmory, Celesteela, and opposing Mega Scizor. Mega Scizor eliminates Rock- and Fairy-types like Mega Aerodactyl, Mega Diancie, and Iron Valiant. Mega Pinsir eases Fighting matchups, threatening foes like Keldeo and Kommo-o, and it can also break through walls like Toxapex and Mega Venusaur that Lokix struggles with.

The combination of First Impression and Tinted Lens make Lokix one of the most threatening revenge killers in the format, able to outprioritize and KO foes regardless of resistance. First Impression is Lokix's most important attack, but it can only be used as the first attack after it switches in. U-turn can be punishing against offensive and slow teams as the lack of resists means Lokix can keep switching in and dealing big damage with First Impression, at the cost of making it vulnerable to hazards. Leech Life is the strongest Bug-type move Lokix learns outside of First Impression, with the added benefit of healing recoil damage. Sucker Punch is a powerful STAB priority move, enabling Lokix to outprioritize foes even after it has used First Impression. Axe Kick is the only coverage move of note in Lokix's moveset due to its high Base Power. Be wary of the low accuracy and recoil that occurs should it miss. Throat Chop is the most powerful Dark-type move Lokix learns. It also has the side benefit of disabling Roar from Hippowdon and Hyper Voice from Sylveon. Swords Dance is an option to make Lokix a sweeper instead of a revenge killer. Items Life Orb: Life Orb enables easier revenge kills at the cost of recoil. Silver Powder: Silver Powder raises the power of First Impression without the recoil from Life Orb, and it also frees up Life Orb for a teammate to use instead. Tera Types Bug: A Bug Tera Type increases the damage of First Impression, allowing Lokix to OHKO foes it could not otherwise, such as Dragapult.
