Usage Tips Oricorio-E should take advantage of the Pokemon it checks and forces out to set up with Calm Mind, attack, or heal itself with Roost if it's weakened, which can also be used to reduce damage taken from Electric-type attacks from the likes of Lanturn and Eelektross. In order to prevent a momentum loss, it should wear down its checks such as Regirock and Alolan Sandslash before trying to set up with Calm Mind, although the latter struggles against Hidden Power Fighting variants. However, if the opponent only has checks unable to switch into Oricorio-E, such as Aggron, setting up with Calm Mind allows it to pressure the opposing team more easily. It's important to keep Oricorio-E away from status ailments, as they greatly cripple Oricorio-E and hinder its ability to check threats like Oricorio-G and clean with Calm Mind. Oricorio-E should be played differently depending on its last moveslot. Lurantis is another good partner, as it can also pressure Regirock for Oricorio-E. Pokemon that appreciate Oricorio-E's ability to check threats like Gurdurr, Hitmonchan, Bellossom, and Oricorio-G work well alongside it. An example of this is Regirock, which can set Stealth Rock for Oricorio-E, cripple opposing Regirock with Toxic, and chip Alolan Sandslash. Oricorio-E also appreciates partners such as Substitute + Toxic Kangaskhan and Stoutland, which soften up walls like Regirock, Eelektross, and Lanturn for Oricorio-E; Stoutland can even Pursuit trap the latter two. Entry hazard setters like Aggron, Ferroseed, and Qwilfish make for decent partners to ease Oricorio-E's job; Qwilfish can also act as a secondary Fighting-type check, which reduces pressure on Oricorio-E. Oricorio-E often finds itself forced out by faster Rock-types like Lycanroc and Choice Scarf Kabutops. Due to this, it appreciates having a partner able to deal with them, such as Gurdurr, Mudsdale, and Tangela. In a similar vein, it also struggles against faster Ice-types such as Jynx and Choice Scarf Aurorus, which means that Pokemon able to switch into them such as Cryogonal and Lanturn or even Pokemon able to check them, like Choice Scarf Dodrio and Primeape, make for good partners.

Status from Pokemon like Altaria, Audino, and Gastrodon should be avoided, especially Toxic, as Oricorio-E struggles to stallbreak or check threats as effectively when crippled. Team Options Pokemon like Omastar, Simisear, and Dodrio appreciate Oricorio-E wearing down and beating defensive behemoths such as Lanturn, Audino, and Regirock. Lycanroc is another solid partner, as it appreciates Oricorio-E's ability to weaken Mudsdale and check Fighting- and Ground-types like Gurdurr and Gastrodon. In exchange, Lycanroc is able to set Stealth Rock and can pressure threats like Cryogonal, which gives Oricorio-E a hard time. Entry hazard removal lets Oricorio-E check what it's supposed to check more easily, so Pokemon like Skuntank and Alolan Sandslash work well with it. The former appreciates Oricorio-E wearing down Regirock for it, and they both can check Grass-types like Bellossom, taking pressure off Oricorio-E. They also both appreciate Oricorio-E dealing with Ground- and Fighting-types like non-Rock Slide Mudsdale and Gurdurr. Entry hazards ease Oricorio-E's job, as they help it chip down walls like Mudsdale and Gastrodon faster while also easing its matchup against threats like Regirock, which otherwise walls it with little to no difficulty. Therefore, setters like Qwilfish and Golurk work well alongside it. These also appreciate Oricorio-E's ability to use Taunt on Defog users like Skuntank, and they also act as secondary Fighting-type checks.
