Analysis

Set Details Defog is best used once Pokemon like Mudsdale and Rhydon are out of commission, since both of them reliably set Stealth Rock on Silvally-Steel. Flamethrower hits opposing Steel-types like Copperajah, Doublade, and Escavalier, as well as Rotom-C, for decent damage. Parting Shot lets Silvally-Steel pivot on Silvally-Ground, Mudsdale, and Copperajah to bring in a wallbreaker and force them out. Alternatively, U-turn stops Magic Bounce Xatu from blocking Silvally-Steel's pivoting and gaining momentum. The given EV spread with a Jolly nature allows Silvally-Steel to outspeed Jolly Tyrantrum. Since Silvally-Steel lacks any kind of recovery, Wish-passing partners like Vaporeon and Sylveon are appreciated to give it more longevity. Talonflame, Ninjask, and Heliolisk form a VoltTurn core with Silvally-Steel to lure in and pivot on Diancie. Fighting-types like Choice Scarf Passimian and Toxicroak offensively pressure Silvally-Steel with their respective STAB moves. Therefore, having a partner like Vileplume or Garbodor to eat up said moves is appreciated. Wallbreakers like Starmie and Alolan Exeggutor can take advantage of Mudsdale and Copperajah by coming in via Silvally-Steel's pivots. Conversely, special wallbreakers with Fire- or Fighting-type coverage, like Exploud and Choice Specs Sylveon, can be problematic for Silvally-Steel if they predict it switching in. A teammate like Diancie or Vaporeon can give you more leverage when switching around their attacks.

Analysis

Set Details Swords Dance and 120-Base Power Multi-Attack combine to make Silvally-Ground a massive offensive threat. Rock Slide takes down Flying-types like Xatu and Talonflame; it also hits Mantine super effectively but does not OHKO at +2 without prior damage. U-turn chips down checks like Rotom-C, Vaporeon, and Tsareena, making it easier for Silvally-Ground to sweep later. Alternatively, Flame Charge buffs Silvally-Ground's late-game potential, giving it a Speed boost and making it harder to revenge kill with Pokemon like Choice Scarf Passimian. Spikers like Garbodor, Froslass, and the more niche Ferroseed can pave the way for a Silvally-Ground sweep, especially when paired with Knock Off users like Drapion and Passimian. Teammates that struggle with Water- or Grass-types, such as Swords Dance Talonflame and Nasty Plot Rotom-C, appreciate U-turn Silvally-Ground's ability to weaken those walls. Silvally-Ground appreciates having Flying-types like Xatu and Mantine weakened or removed before attempting to sweep; Fighting-types like Passimian and Toxicroak can force damage onto them and put them in range of +2 Rock Slide.
