These Bug- and Grass-types in return can beat Electric- and Ice-types such as Zeraora and Kyurem, both of which can easily OHKO Togekiss. Togekiss benefits from teammates that can deal with special attackers like Mega Gardevoir, Tapu Lele, and Magnezone, such as your own Magnezone, Chansey, and Magearna, as it takes care of primarily physical attackers such as Golem, Mega Charizard X, and physically attacking Dragonite for them. Magearna is an especially notable partner, as it loves Togekiss's ability to deal with Mega Charizard X and Y. In return, Magearna can beat Tapu Lele and Mega Gardevoir for Togekiss.

In return, Togekiss can beat Water- and Grass-types like Primarina and Mega Venusaur for them. Pokemon such as Kyurem and Dragonite that benefit from Togekiss dispatching uninvested Mega Gardevoir, Mega Gyarados, and Greninja are good teammates, especially if they match up well versus the Steel-, Electric-, and Rock-types that hold Togekiss back such as Golem, Zeraora, and Celesteela. A Choice Scarf boosts Togekiss's speed so that it can outspeed everything up to maximum Speed Zeraora. Usage Tips In particular, use Air Slash against Pokemon that you cannot OHKO with a coverage move and will lose against barring flinches, such as Mega Tyranitar, Golem, and Magnezone, as a small chance of winning is better than no chance of winning. It's a good idea to use Togekiss when your opponent has a way to beat both other Pokemon on your team or if they use a lot of Pokemon that do not resist Air Slash. Team Options Pokemon that can beat Rock-, Steel-, Poison-, and Electric-types such as Magnezone, Naganadel, Mega Gengar, and Golem are good teammates for Togekiss. Ground-types cover all of these tremendously, so teammates like Zygarde-C, Donphan, and Golem are great. In return, Togekiss can beat most Water- and Grass-types like Mega Venusaur, Primarina, and Ferrothorn for these Ground-type teammates. Strong wallbreaking Pokemon such as Incineroar, Mega Gardevoir, and Mega Charizard X and Y can beat beefy Pokemon that take too many turns for Togekiss to KO such as Celesteela and PP stall Deoxys-S. Choice Scarf Togekiss acts as a good panic button, as it can beat threats to the main core of the team through luck, which can allow it to support generally strong cores such as Mega Gardevoir + Heatran and Mega Altaria + Heatran.

Moves Fire Blast allows Togekiss to take care of Steel-types like Mega Scizor, Ferrothorn, and Excadrill after some chip damage. Aura Sphere gives Togekiss a way to hit Heatran and Bisharp. In the Grass-type matchup, Togekiss is able to pressure most Grass-types like Mega Venusaur and Ferrothorn with Air Slash and Fire Blast. Keep it healthy with Roost when facing resisted attacks from Tapu Bulu, passive Pokemon like Toxapex, or a predicted switch. Togekiss should switch into resisted attacks like Tapu Bulu's Horn Leech for its teammates or attacks that Togekiss is immune to like Hippowdon's Earthquake. Air Slash can be used to wear down Pokemon that Togekiss's teammates struggle with like Hippowdon and Mega Venusaur. Try to preserve Togekiss's Babiri Berry if Mega Scizor is alive because Togekiss cannot take its boosted Bullet Punch once the Babiri Berry has been used. Be careful around common Pokemon that use status moves, as Togekiss getting burned by Will-O-Wisp from Rotom-W or badly poisoned by Toxic from Chansey and Porygon2 make it difficult to keep itself healthy. Klefki can also set up Spikes and slow down Pokemon with Thunder Wave, which can help Togekiss take on faster Pokemon like Latios and Greninja. Foul Play Klefki can help check Swords Dance Mega Scizor if Togekiss is unable to. Clefable can be used to set Stealth Rock to wear down Pokemon like Tapu Koko and Alolan Raichu and soak up status for its teammates. It can also be used as a Calm Mind sweeper if Mega Diancie is already being used for Stealth Rock. Life Orb Swords Dance Mimikyu can use its Ghost-type STAB attacks to help with the Psychic matchup and take down Pokemon that Togekiss struggles with like Gengar.

Serene Grace is the preferred ability because it doubles the chance of secondary effects occurring, which allows Togekiss to easily spam Air Slash. Usage Tips Although Togekiss may be bulky, it is usually best not to take unnecessary hits because it needs to be at full health to survive powerful attacks such as Bolt Strike from Victini. Since Choice Scarf Togekiss is fast, it should be used to sweep late-game. Use Trick to cripple bulky Pokemon such as Chansey and Porygon2. However, be wary of using Trick, as Togekiss may need its Choice Scarf to revenge kill certain fast threats. Be careful when locking Togekiss into a coverage move because they are weak, meaning that certain Pokemon can then utilize it as setup bait. Avoid status ailments, especially paralysis and poison, as paralysis halves Togekiss's Speed, while poison slowly wears it down. Do not be afraid to spam Air Slash, as with its high flinch chance it can render foes helpless. Use pivots such as U-turn Landorus-T and Volt Switch Zapdos to bring Togekiss in safely. On offensively based Flying-type teams Togekiss should try to remove Stealth Rock as soon as possible. Although Togekiss may be able to take Dark-type attacks, it is usually best to avoid Knock Off, as without its Choice Scarf it is easily revenge killed. Special walls should be removed before attempting a late-game sweep. Team Options Skarmory, Aerodactyl, Gliscor, and Landorus-T can all set up Stealth Rock for Togekiss, making it much easier for Togekiss to sweep late-game. Skarmory and Mantine can switch into Ice-type attacks while being able to remove Stealth Rock with Defog. Zapdos is a great Defog user while also being able to switch into Electric-type attacks for Togekiss. It can also run Substitute + Toxic to cripple special walls such as opposing Zapdos and Lanturn for Togekiss. Mega Charizard Y and Landorus can eliminate Steel-types that threaten Togekiss such as Scizor and Heatran. They can also wallbreak for Togekiss, allowing it to easily sweep late-game. Since Togekiss is an excellent Choice Scarf user, Landorus-T is a great partner because it allows Landorus-T to run other viable sets. Celesteela can take Ice-type attacks while also providing passive recovery for Togekiss with Leech Seed. Dragonite can KO special walls that wall Togekiss such as Chansey and Zapdos, which allows Togekiss to sweep late-game. Thundurus can paralyze fast Choice Scarf users such as Latios and Victini, and Togekiss can eliminate bulky Grass-types like Mega Venusaur for Thundurus. Gliscor is an Electric-immune Pokemon that can also absorb status for Togekiss. Salamence and Gyarados can wallbreak with a Dragon Dance boost under their belts, enabling Togekiss to clean late-game.

Serene Grace increases the chance of secondary effects, which Togekiss strongly takes advantage of with Air Slash's high chance to flinch. Usage Tips Thanks to the Babiri Berry, Togekiss can take any one Steel-type move, but it should still not be switched into one. It is one of the few Mega Scizor checks that Fairy teams have to offer, and it can also check other Steel-type threats such as Excadrill and Cobalion if they have taken prior damage. It struggles to get past specially defensive Steel-type Pokemon such as Heatran and Empoleon due to its lack of Special Attack investment. It can switch in on neutral or resisted hits well thanks to its decent bulk, but it needs to be kept healthy if the opposition has a Mega Scizor so it can check it as effectively as possible. Togekiss can switch into Ground-type attacks thanks to its immunity. It has to be played carefully if Stealth Rock is up due to its weakness to it. Team Options Thanks to its Magic Bounce ability, Mega Diancie can prevent Stealth Rock from going up and pressuring Togekiss. Klefki is a great partner for Togekiss, as it resists many of its weaknesses, has an immunity to Poison, and is neutral to Steel. Klefki can also spread paralysis, allowing Togekiss to have an easier time incapacitating the foe. Clefable sets up Stealth Rock and is also able to spread paralysis and check Steel-type Pokemon with Fire Blast if Togekiss has already used its Babiri Berry. Azumarill is able to break through some Pokemon that Fairy-types don't like facing such as Heatran and Empoleon thanks to its high Attack and access to Superpower. It can also deal with specially defensive Pokemon such as Chansey, which this set struggles to beat. Gardevoir is a common Choice Scarf user on Fairy-type teams that can outspeed Choice Scarf Magnezone and take it out with Focus Blast, removing a big threat to Togekiss and its team. It also checks Sand Rush Excadrill thanks to its Trace ability. Mega Gardevoir and Choice Specs Sylveon are two strong wallbreakers that can assist Togekiss in breaking walls that take a lot of flinches for Togekiss to beat. These two Pokemon do particularly well against bulky Electric-type Pokemon such as Zapdos, Lanturn, and Rotom-W, which wall Togekiss.

Togekiss can be used as a revenge killer thanks to its Choice Scarf and access to Serene Grace Air Slash, which has a high chance to flinch. It's able to cripple defensive Pokemon such as Zapdos, Skarmory, Chansey, and Porygon2 with Trick. It can deal massive damage to Steel-type Pokemon such as Ferrothorn and Bisharp with Fire Blast or Aura Sphere; however, it cannot switch in on a Steel-type attack. Togekiss has to be played carefully if Stealth Rock is up due to its Rock weakness. Team Options Mega Diancie can prevent Stealth Rock from going up with its Magic Bounce ability, giving Togekiss more freedom in switching in. Klefki is a great answer to many of Togekiss's weaknesses, as it has a resistance to Ice and Rock, an immunity to Poison, and neutrality to Steel. Klefki is also able to spread paralysis, which Togekiss takes advantage of by combining it with Air Slash flinches. It can also set up dual screens to let Togekiss take hits better, allowing it to survive a Iron Head from Excadrill or a Bullet Punch from Mega Scizor to OHKO it with Fire Blast. Clefable can set up Stealth Rock and, like Klefki, spread paralysis. It's also able to help Togekiss deal with Steel-types if it's carrying Fire-type coverage, because otherwise Togekiss is under serious pressure when it comes to beating teams with cores such as Mega Scizor + Doublade + Bisharp, (pluses) which all take advantage of priority and have access to Swords Dance. Azumarill can break through Heatran and Empoleon, two Pokemon that switch into Togekiss easily and wall a lot of Fairy-types. Mega Gardevoir and Choice Specs Sylveon help in breaking walls that require many flinches for Togekiss to beat.

This set works really well against bulkier types such as Psychic, Water, and Normal, as it can get past Togekiss's usual checks such as Lanturn, Chansey, and even Heatran thanks to Heal Bell and Nasty Plot. Fairy lacks a good Water-resistant Pokemon, so the difficulties Togekiss provides for Water-types is very useful. It's the only Ground-immune option Fairy has, which is useful due to the lack of Fairy-type Ground-resistant Pokemon. It has to be played carefully if Stealth Rock is up due to its weakness to it. Team Options Klefki's resistances to many of Togekiss's weaknesses, as well as an immunity to Poison and a neutrality to Steel, make it a great partner for Togekiss. Klefki also has the ability to set up dual screens, allowing Togekiss to take hits even better. Clefable can set up Stealth Rock, spread paralysis, and check Electric-types such as Zapdos, Thundurus, and Rotom-W, which threaten Togekiss. Togekiss's ability to deal with Water-types makes Belly Drum Azumarill a great partner because it hates facing Water-types. Mega Diancie prevents the use of Stealth Rock thanks to its Magic Bounce ability, which Togekiss appreciates because it has a weakness to Rock. Choice Scarf Gardevoir can deal with Poison-types that outspeed and threaten Togekiss such as Gengar and Nidoking.

Moves Air Slash is Togekiss's best attacking option, as it gets a STAB boost and, with Serene Grace, has a 57% chance to cause a slower target to flinch, factoring in accuracy. Follow Me allows Togekiss to give its partner a free turn to attack or set up safely, without fear. Tailwind and Thunder Wave are Togekiss's options for speed control, either of which allows it to support the team as well as outspeed more foes. Tailwind is unique to Togekiss as a redirector and supports Togekiss's whole side. However, unlike Thunder Wave, it isn't permanent and doesn't have the additional chance to prevent the foe from moving. Thunder Wave should be used to check specific threats for the full game, whereas Tailwind supports the entirety of the team for its limited duration. Encore locks a foe into innocuous moves such as Protect and Fake Out, leaving them unable to hurt Togekiss or its partner. It also goes through Substitute, which can prevent common users like Heatran and Aegislash from being effective in battle. Roost allows Togekiss to stick around longer by providing reliable recovery, whereas Helping Hand takes a more offensive approach and can turn Togekiss's partner's attacks from 3HKOs to 2HKOs and 2HKOs to OHKOs in the right situation. Set Details The listed HP and Defense EVs allow Togekiss to survive a Life Orb Bisharp's Iron Head, letting it redirect the move once from full HP. 60 Speed EVs are used to outspeed Adamant Choice Scarf Landorus-T under Tailwind, with the remainder placed in Special Defense for extra bulk. Togekiss's decent base 120 Special Attack means that Air Slash still hits decently hard without investment. Equipping Safety Goggles allows Togekiss to safely redirect Spore from Amoonguss or Breloom, as well as ignore the effects of Rage Powder, making it a perfect answer to both, as Togekiss resists their STAB attacks and can hit them back with a super effective Air Slash. Sitrus Berry is another option and provides Togekiss with an extra HP buffer to survive more hits. This is especially important for turns where Togekiss needs to take two strong attacks for its partner. If using Thunder Wave over Tailwind, you can move the Speed EVs to Special Defense to allow Togekiss to survive a Life Orb Aegislash's Flash Cannon. Usage Tips Togekiss's goal is to be a disrupter or supporter in whatever way best aids its team. There are many different ways to accomplish this: Follow Me, Air Slash flinches, speed control, and either Encore or Helping Hand, depending on the chosen moveset. Try to avoid switching Togekiss in on any strong neutral or super effective attacks—a healthier Togekiss is a much more effective user of Follow Me. Use Follow Me to help Togekiss's partner when it is threatened to give it a chance to either set up or attack. For Togekiss, outspeeding opposing Pokemon is especially useful, granting it a good chance to immobilize them with Air Slash. Thus, setting some form of speed control in either Tailwind or Thunder Wave before attacking is usually a good idea, as getting a flinch with Air Slash can really help generate momentum for Togekiss's team. However, remember that Air Slash flinches are not guaranteed and shouldn't be treated as such. Use Helping Hand if Togekiss's partner is reasonably safe to attack and the boost is absolutely necessary to get the KO. Helping Hand is usually the best option on a turn where Togekiss will likely be outsped and KOed, as its +5 priority provides Togekiss a last-ditch way to support its teammate. Team Options Togekiss partners well with many different Pokemon in the metagame. Notable options include setup Pokemon, especially ones that appreciate speed control like Mega Kangaskhan, Substitute Heatran, and Substitute Kyurem-B. All Pokemon that don't share Togekiss's weaknesses and have lots of offensive presence to make up for Togekiss's lack thereof make for good teammates, especially if they appreciate the speed control it provides. Some examples that fall into this category are Breloom and Hoopa-U. Wide Guard users such as Aegislash protect Togekiss from Rock Slide and Icy Wind as well as discourage spread moves that Togekiss cannot redirect. Togekiss operates best alongside a teammate with the ability to beat Rock-, Steel-, Electric-, and Poison-types that threaten Togekiss out, so Pokemon with Ground-type attacks like Landorus-T, Heatran, Kyurem-B, and Rhyperior are great. Earthquake users such as Landorus-T and Rhyperior get a special mention because Togekiss avoids Earthquake. Pokemon with Intimidate make it easier for Togekiss to do its job redirecting attacks by weakening the incoming physical attacks, so again, Landorus-T works very well beside Togekiss.

Moves Follow Me is the main support move that you will be using the most often on Togekiss. Togekiss frequently runs only one attacking move, which is usually going to be either Air Slash or Dazzling Gleam. Air Slash, combined with Serene Grace, is great for netting flinches, while Dazzling Gleam is great for spread damage and inflicts more chip damage than Air Slash. Togekiss has two great options for speed control: Tailwind and Thunder Wave. Tailwind is a good option because it gives a blanket boost to your team as well as allowing your team to possibly outspeed Ground-types such as Choice Scarf Landorus-T, while Thunder Wave is a more permanent form of speed control because it doesn't end, unlike Tailwind. Roost is for longevity and instant recovery and is a nice option over speed control if you are using Togekiss on a Trick Room team. Protect is here as it can provide protection for a turn should your opponent choose to double target Togekiss. Set Details The HP and Defense EVs allow Togekiss to survive an Iron Head from Life Orb Bisharp and Jolly Mega Metagross. With Sitrus Berry, it is also only 4HKOed by Rock Slide from Landorus-T. The Speed EVs allow Togekiss to outrun Rotom-W outside of Tailwind and Adamant Choice Scarf Landorus-T under Tailwind. A Relaxed or Bold nature with 0 Speed EVs for Trick Room works. A Calm nature can be use to sponge special attacks. If you're running Air Slash, Serene Grace is the best ability, while Dazzling Gleam is best paired with Super Luck. Usage Tips Togekiss should spam Follow Me until its partner no longer needs redirection support or Togekiss faints. If your opponent has a Pokemon that uses spread moves, such as Mega Charizard Y or Tyranitar, it is better to just use an attacking move or status them if you choose to run Thunder Wave. Togekiss is pretty predictable, as it mainly spams Follow Me, so it is likely that your opponent will double target Togekiss in anticipation of this. In that case, it is a good idea to use Protect. Team Options Pokemon that benefit from speed control and redirection support, especially those that are weak to Fighting- or Dragon-types, such as Mega Kangaskhan, are great partners for Togekiss. Pokemon that spam Earthquake, such as Mamoswine, Excadrill, and Landorus-T, are great partners too. Examples of Pokemon benefiting from redirection support are Trick Room setters, such as Cresselia and Jellicent, and frail Pokemon such as Breloom. Setup attackers, in general, are great partners too. Examples are Mega Gyarados, Mega Tyranitar, and Mega Salamence; the latter is a great partner due to Togekiss's immunities to Dragon and Ground, which allows Salamence to use Earthquake freely.

Unlike most Togekiss, this set aims to immediately outrun the opponent and start firing off Air Slashes. Aura Sphere is a great coverage move, especially against Moody Smeargle with a few Evasion boosts, and against Pokemon that resist Air Slash such as Tyranitar. Heat Wave is a great spread move, especially considering the fact that it has a 20% chance to burn a Pokemon, but Tri Attack gets a STAB boost and has many different effects that are also boosted by Serene Grace. The last slot is generally preferential; Hidden Power Ice hits Dragons such as Garchomp and Dragonite super effectively, which is always handy for a team. Follow Me is again always a good option, and with Choice Scarf, it can stop Fake Out more effectively, though Follow Me isn't the best move to be Choice-locked into. Trick can lock opposing Pokemon into undesirable moves, possibly removing beneficial items such as Eviolite and miscellaneous Berries. Togekiss doesn't have many more offensive options, but Fire Blast can be used over Heat Wave for a little extra power. As odd as it may sound, Twister is also an option. With Serene Grace it is essentially a perfectly accurate weaker Rock Slide with a higher flinch rate. As this Togekiss is more offensively inclined, and it might be locked into an unfavorable move from time to time, its teammates should be ready to cater to its needs. Wide Guard users such as Hitmontop, Swampert, and Conkeldurr make great teammates, as they protect Togekiss from Rock Slide and Discharge, and can also take on the hail and sand teams that Togekiss doesn't particularly care for. Choice Scarf Togekiss also enjoys harsh sunlight, which boosts Heat Wave, but it isn't required.

This is any Togekiss's user's bread-and-butter set, and it's not hard to see why. Great defenses combined with Follow Me and Air Slash make Togekiss one of the premier supporting Pokemon in VGC, so much so that it is often the first thing an opponent would want to eliminate. Consequently, Protect is the main option in the last slot, keeping Togekiss alive for an extra turn so its partner can take out the offending Pokemon. Togekiss has many more options to use in the third slot, but the two listed are the picks of the litter. Thunder Wave cripples fast attackers such as Latios, who would otherwise be problematic, while also forming the ever-so-annoying paraflinch combination. Tailwind is a bit more support-oriented, allowing Togekiss's team members to outrun the opponent; increasing Togekiss's Speed also makes Air Slash more deadly. A The listed specially defensive EV spread allows Togekiss to take powerful Blizzards and Thunderbolts with HP to spare; alternatively, a Bold nature with 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD can be used to let Togekiss survive powerful Rock Slides and Stone Edges from Rock-types such as Tyranitar and Rhyperior. If you have access to a Togepi from Pokemon XD Gale of Darkness, Helping Hand is a very viable option, as the combination of Follow Me and Helping Hand is surprisingly useful. While you're dabbling in ADV, Body Slam and Soft-Boiled can be used over Thunder Wave and Roost respectively. If you want to cram as much support as you can on Togekiss, you can forgo the third slot's listed options in favor of moves such as Encore, Safeguard, Reflect, and Light Screen. Be careful about doing this, however, as without Roost or Protect, Togekiss tends to go down rather quickly. If you're using Togekiss to help set up Trick Room, be sure to avoid also running clashing moves such as Tailwind and Thunder Wave. Encore is perhaps the most useful replacement, as most teams rely on double Protecting to stall out Trick Room. If all your team needs is Follow Me support, you can consider more offensive options such as Aura Sphere, Tri Attack, and Heat Wave. Without Aura Sphere, Togekiss generally struggles against Rock-types such as Tyranitar. It also can't do much to most Electric-types, especially Thundurus and Zapdos. Terrakion makes a fine partner, taking out said Pokemon in one or two hits while Togekiss directs attacks to itself so Terrakion remains relatively untouched. As previously stated, Wide Guard users make excellent teammates. When running Trick Room, Togekiss enjoys a boosting teammate that can take out problematic Pokemon such as Porygon2 and Bronzong. However, note that it is not a good idea to pair Togekiss with a Trick Room user that shares a weakness with it, such as Chandelure, Slowking, and Slowbro.

This Togekiss set works wonderfully on bulky offense teams due to its ability to Thunder Wave a majority of the opponents and slow them down for your sweepers. Air Slash is a great move in combination with Thunder Wave, granting the paraflinch combo. Not to mention Togekiss also has Serene Grace, being able to double the rate of flinching from Air Slash and therefore being able to keep the opponent immobile for longer. Follow Me is Togekiss's advantage over other Thunder Wave users such as Thundurus—the ability to lure attacks aimed at your partner and tank them with great special bulk is a huge selling point. Protect, as usual, is to defend Togekiss from attacks that are aimed at it. Helping Hand is a great move to give your partner a 50% power boost, allowing it to annihilate the already paralyzed opponents. The EVs are specially tailored to allow Togekiss to survive a multitude of powerful attacks, namely Rock Gem Terrakion's Rock Slide, Dragon Gem Latios's Draco Meteor, Thundurus's Thunderbolt, and Choice Specs Rotom-W's Thunderbolt. The HP EVs are given an odd number in order to reduce damage taken from sandstorm and hail. A Sitrus Berry is used to grant greater longevity, helping Togekiss take two attacks in one turn and is overall more useful than Leftovers in this metagame. Togekiss works great with bulky offensive Pokemon that benefit from opponents getting paralyzed, allowing them to go first and wreak havoc. These Pokemon include Metagross, Landorus-T, Heatran, and Kyurem-B. Hitmontop is once again a good partner with Intimidate to cover Togekiss's weaker Defense and can also use Wide Guard to protect Togekiss from the likes of Rock Slide, Blizzard, and Discharge.

This set invests in bulk in order to maximize sustainability for Togekiss, permitting it to set up multiple Tailwinds throughout the match. Tailwind is an obvious option to double the Speed of all your teammates for three turns, granting a tactical advantage that has been the staple of many Doubles cores. Air Slash is an option to deal with slower and bulkier threats, such as Cresselia, while your sweepers wreak havoc on the other opponent. It also boasts a 60% chance to flinch opponents, rendering them motionless for that turn. Follow Me is a great option to grant setup opportunities for your teammate, as it lures all the opponents' attacks onto Togekiss's giant bulk and keeps your teammate safe. Protect is a classic option in Doubles to defend Togekiss from attacks, possibly leaving your teammate free to attack the opponent or to shield it from multi-hit moves. Helping Hand is a wonderful option to grant a 50% power boost to your teammate, allowing it to deliver powerful blows to the opponents. The Speed EVs allow Togekiss to outspeed Cresselia, minimum Speed Rotom-W, and some faster Hitmontop variants. 248 HP EVs are used so Togekiss can attain an odd HP number to receive less damage from hail and sandstorm. The rest of the EVs are put into its already stellar Special Defense as an extra boost. 176 Speed EVs can be used to outspeed maximum Speed neutral base 70s, specifically Hitmontop and Ludicolo. 16 Defense EVs can be given to allow Togekiss to survive a Choice Band- or Helping Hand-boosted Rock Slide from Tyranitar. A Sitrus Berry is given instead of Leftovers as it is more useful in sand and hail, being able to restore 25% of Togekiss's health instead of being nullified by weather. Additionally, it is more helpful in allowing Togekiss to tank two attacks in a turn. Togekiss usually aids teammates instead of having teammates aid it; it works well with powerful teammates with middling Speed such as Kyurem-B, Hydreigon, Breloom, Metagross, and more. Mold Breaker Excadrill is a great partner for Togekiss, with Follow Me to allow a Swords Dance boost; it can also use Earthquake freely, as Togekiss is immune to Ground-type attacks. Hitmontop is also a good partner thanks to Intimidate, helping to cover Togekiss's weaker Defense while providing Wide Guard support to protect Togekiss from Blizzards, Rock Slides and Discharges. Heracross and Mamoswine are also decent partners, having good synergy with Togekiss and appreciating Tailwind support. Heracross can defeat the Rock- and Ice-types that threaten Togekiss, while Mamoswine handles Electric- and Ice-types. Landorus-T can also be used, but has to beware of Blizzard.

Togekiss isn't only meant to function defensively; it can also go offensive thanks to its useful base 120 Special Attack. Tailwind is on the set in order to increase the Speed of the whole team, while Air Slash is for a reliable STAB and helpful flinches. Heat Wave is a good Fire-type move that can hit both opponents for decent damage and has a nice 30% chance to burn them. Aura Sphere is another reliable option to induce solid Fighting-type damage onto the opponent. Protect is useful in this instance to stall out Trick Room turns, while Helping Hand is good for boosting allies, especially when Togekiss's coverage is ineffective in that particular situation. 208 HP EVs are used to give Togekiss an odd HP number to reduce damage from sandstorm and hail. 48 Speed EVs are given to allow Togekiss to outspeed 4 Speed base 85s, most notably Cresselia. Sitrus Berry is given to grant Togekiss greater longevity and to take more hits, while Flying Gem can give Togekiss a cool one-time damage boost. Fire Blast or Flamethrower can be used instead of Heat Wave for greater damage on individual opponents. Good teammates should have good coverage in tandem with Togekiss so they can take out bulkier opponents such as Cresselia. Tyranitar and Chandelure are good choices in this regard, and also benefit from Tailwind. Mamoswine and Heracross are also good partners—Mamoswine has good coverage and enjoys the flinches that Togekiss deals onto the opponent, while Heracross enjoys the Helping Hand support which permits it to OHKO Cresselia, and also beats the Ice- and Rock-types that trouble Togekiss. Hitmontop's Intimidate comes in handy to cover up Togekiss's weaker Defense, and its Wide Guard support grants protection against Blizzard, Rock Slide, and Discharge.

This set doesn't focus as much on Serene Grace, but instead aims to set up and pull off a sweep. Nasty Plot doubles Togekiss's Special Attack in one use, letting it quickly get very threatening. With its excellent bulk, it can often find an opportunity to set up. There are two ways to go with this set: defensive and offensive. The defensive variant focuses on Togekiss's excellent bulk to find an opportunity to set up a Nasty Plot or even two, while the offensive variant focuses on Togekiss's great base 120 Special Attack along with its excellent coverage. Air Slash is a given on both variants, as it's Togekiss best STAB move, and further packs a 60% flinch chance. Aura Sphere is the best option in the third slot, as it provides great coverage and hits notable Pokemon, such as Tyranitar and Heatran, hard. Defensive variants can also consider Heal Bell in this slot, as the ability to cure itself of status lets Togekiss set up on Blissey. Roost is a mandatory last move for the defensive variant, but offensive sets can use Fire Blast for more coverage, as KOing Jirachi among others can be very useful. The choice of item and EV spread depends on the variant. The defensive variant is better off using Leftovers, an EV spread of 252 HP / 4 SpA / 252 Spe, and a Modest nature for good bulk and power. The offensive variant, on the other hand, should use a Life Orb to boost the power of its attacks, along with a 112 HP / 4 Def / 156 SpA / 236 Spe EV spread and a Timid nature. Those EVs let Togekiss outspeed Adamant Lucario and always KO Gliscor at +2, while also providing it with a Life Orb number. While this set is rather powerful, certain Pokemon are still able to wall it reliably. Chansey and Blissey can take on Togekiss without Heal Bell thanks to their incredible special bulk and Toxic. Specially defensive Dragonite can take a hit, especially if Multiscale is intact, and use Dragon Tail to phaze out Togekiss and rack up entry hazard damage. Mamoswine makes for a good teammate as it is able to take down both of these threats thanks to its high base Attack and powerful STAB moves.

This set aims to make the most of Serene Grace. The combination of paralysis and a 60% flinch chance leaves the opponent with only a 30% chance to actually do something. Togekiss can usually take out several Pokemon all by itself if luck is on your side, as it can be hard to KO especially due to Roost and its good bulk. Thunder Wave provides a reliable way of spreading paralysis, unlike Body Slam, which only paralyzes 60% of the time. Body Slam also doesn't hit Ghost-types, but has the advantage of hitting Ground-types such as Excadrill and Landorus, and is not shut down by Taunt. Air Slash is Togekiss's main STAB move, as it has a high flinch rate as well as good power. Aura Sphere is the best option in the third slot, as it provides great coverage alongside Air Slash, and hits Pokemon such as Tyranitar and Heatran for super effective damage. However, Flamethrower hits several notable Steel-types, such as Jirachi, Genesect, and Skarmory, for greater damage. Roost is in the last slot to enhance Togekiss's longevity, especially when combined with the fact that the opponent will rarely be able to attack every turn. The EVs are geared towards maximizing Togekiss's excellent special bulk; in conjunction with its typing, this lets Togekiss take on DW behemoths such as Genesect and Chandelure. The Defense EVs ensure that +2 Jolly Air Balloon Excadrill will not KO Togekiss with Rock Slide, which can be useful if your team has some problems with it. However, you can drop the Defense EVs and instead go with a simple 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD EV spread. If you feel that mono-Flying coverage is enough for Togekiss to take down most Pokemon, Nasty Plot is an option over the coverage move. Togekiss can often find a free turn to set up, and this lets it take down opposing Pokemon with Air Slash a lot more easily. While this set doesn't have that many counters considering most Pokemon can usually be taken out by a couple of flinches, there are some threats that do give this set a lot of trouble. Zapdos takes little damage from both Air Slash and Aura Sphere and can threaten Togekiss with a powerful Thunderbolt. Jirachi isn't bothered by anything but Flamethrower and can take down Togekiss with its own paraflinching combination thanks to its higher Speed. Specially defensive Heatran makes for a good partner, as it can take both Zapdos's and Jirachi's assaults quite easily and threaten them with Toxic and Lava Plume, respectively. Jirachi is another good partner for Togekiss, not because it is able to deal with the aforementioned problem Pokemon, but because it makes for a good "hax" core with it—both Pokemon are able to paralyze opponents and flinch them to death.
