Moves Solar Beam allows Weepinbell to hit Rock-, Water-, and Ground-types such as Golem, Lumineon, and Stunfisk, and it is Weepinbell's most spammable move, hitting most targets for solid damage. Sludge Bomb allows Weepinbell to hit Grass-types that resist Solar Beam, such as Tangela and Leafeon, for super effective damage, and Fire-types, such as Monferno and Rapidash, for neutral damage, and it is also Weepinbell's only attack that works outside of sun. Weather Ball allows Weepinbell to hit Roselia, Gourgeist-XL, and Steel-types such as Pawniard and Klang for super effective damage when sun is up. Sleep Powder puts specially defensive walls such as Grumpig and Audino to sleep, allowing Weepinbell to 2HKO or 3HKO them more easily, and it also allows Weepinbell to deal with Sucker Punch users, such as Pawniard and Golem. Growth is an option over Sleep Powder so that Weepinbell can sweep more easily and get past special walls such as Grumpig, but it finds it hard to set up Growth because of its low bulk. Set Details This EV spread combined with a Modest nature maximizes Weepinbell's sweeping abilities and allows it to outspeed as much as possible during sun. Chlorophyll is the chosen ability in order for Weepinbell to outspeed threats during sun. Life Orb maximizes Weepinbell's damage output and allows it to hit as hard as possible. Usage Tips Weepinbell should not be attempting to sweep outside of sun, as it is very slow outside of it, and it should only be switching in on Grass-type attacks, Toxic, or on free switches. Weepinbell is great for breaking walls early- to mid-game, but it is also useful for cleaning up late-game. If Weepinbell has Sleep Powder, it should use it on special walls that it has trouble getting past, such as Audino, or on Sucker Punch users, like Pawniard. If Weepinbell has Growth, it should set up on Pokemon that cannot do much to it, such as Tangela and Roselia. Weepinbell also should be wary of faster Pokemon such as Choice Scarf Mr. Mime and strong priority attacks from Pokemon such as Cacturne, as they can deal quite a bit of damage to Weepinbell and limit the amount of turns it gets to attack. Team Options Weepinbell should only be used on sun teams, as it relies on Chlorophyll to sweep. A sun setter, such as Onix or Golem, is absolutely mandatory to provide Stealth Rock and sun support in order for Weepinbell to sweep. Volbeat provides both Sunny Day support and a slow U-turn in order to get Weepinbell safely on the field. Other Chlorophyll users, such as Sawsbuck and Leafeon, pair well with Weepinbell and appreciate Weepinbell's ability to breaking through walls to help them sweep late-game. Fire-types, such as Rapidash and Monferno, benefit from the sun and can switch into Fire-type attacks if necessary. A Pokemon that can check Jumpluff, such as Zebstrika, is beneficial, as Chlorophyll Jumpluff threatens to outspeed and KO Weepinbell with Acrobatics.

Sludge Bomb is Weepinbell's strongest attack, severely damaging top-tier threats such as Hitmonchan and Flareon. Hidden Power Ground hits Rock-, Poison-, and Steel-types such as Magcargo, Arbok, Mawile, and Metang. Solar Beam helps Weepinbell break through Water-types and is the best attacking option against physically defensive Pokemon such as Lairon and Graveler. Alternatively, Swords Dance boosts Weepinbell's Attack stat to absurd levels, allowing it to OHKO a significant portion of the metagame if successfully used, while Sleep Powder generates free turns for Weepinbell to set up sun once more or fire off extra hits. Maximum Attack and Speed EVs allow Weepinbell to fire strong attacks and outspeed the entirety of the metagame under the sun. An alternate spread of 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe and a Jolly nature can be used if one opts not to run Solar Beam. Poison Barb boosts Weepinbell's strongest and most spammable attack, Sludge Bomb, to enable important KOs such as a 2HKO on physically defensive Tangela. Suicide leads such as Glalie and Swalot can assist not only Weepinbell but also other members of a sun hyper offense team by setting up Spikes or Sunny Day and then using Explosion to allow the next Pokemon to switch in safely. Bellossom, Tangela, and Flareon make fantastic partners as well, forming a solid offense core that takes advantage of the sun activating Chlorophyll and boosting Fire-type STAB attacks. Pokemon that can beat both Golbat and Pelipper such as Sudowoodo, Pikachu, and Plusle can help Weepinbell sweep. Weepinbell should be brought in late-game, as it lacks the power to immediately break through bulky Pokemon such as Sableye without a Swords Dance boost but excels at cleaning up thanks to its high Speed in the sun and mixed capability, making it rough for offense teams to face.
