Analysis

Wild Charge allows Zacian-C to break through Flying- and Water-types that would otherwise resist its attacks, such as Ho-Oh, defensive Kyogre, and Arceus-Water. Close Combat is a strong option to damage Necrozma-DM, as it 2HKOs when boosted by Tera Fighting. It also allows Zacian-C to OHKO Arceus and Kingambit while dealing heavy damage to any Pokemon that uses Tera Fire to resist its STAB moves, notably Tera Fire Koraidon. Crunch can be run as a coverage option to damage Lunala, Skeledirge, and Necrozma-DM. Tera Flying allows Zacian-C to ignore Ground-type attacks from Landorus-T, Arceus-Ground, and Groudon, giving it a free turn to set up. Tera Electric can be used to avoid paralysis from support Arceus and boost Wild Charge damage if Zacian-C is unboosted or has lost the Intrepid Sword boost. On a set with Crunch, it can prevent Imposter Ditto from turning the tables on it. Tera Fire grants resistance to Koraidon's Flare Blitz and opposing Zacian-C's Behemoth Blade, as well as preventing burns from Sacred Fire and Will-O-Wisp. Zacian-C's Fairy typing allows it to prevent opposing Scale Shot Koraidon from boosting its Speed, denying setup for one of the most dangerous sweepers in the metagame. Ribombee is a fantastic partner for Zacian-C, as its Sticky Web provide much-needed speed control, allowing it to outspeed opposing Choice Scarf Koraidon and Kyogre as well as preventing Speed ties in the mirror matchup. Zacian-C's main roadblocks are physical walls like Landorus-T and Necrozma-DM, so it appreciates the support of strong special threats like Kyogre, Lunala, Arceus-Flying, and Arceus-Ghost, which help break them down. Physical sweepers such as Scale Shot Koraidon, Necrozma-DM, Kingambit, and Extreme Killer Arceus benefit greatly from Zacian-C forcing foes to Terastallize and weakening enemy walls. On bulkier teams, sturdy defensive options like Ho-Oh and Arceus-Water can status opposing Pokemon, while Choice Scarf Koraidon provides additional speed control. Entry hazards from Deoxys-S, Landorus-T, Ting-Lu, and Glimmora wear down foes, allowing Zacian-C to revenge kill or sweep.

Analysis

Trailblaze Zacian-C carves itself a niche away from the standard Swords Dance attacking set by being a phenomenal anti-hyper offense set. With Tera Electric, Zacian-C doesn't fear Stun Spore from Ribombee or Thunder Wave from Deoxys-S and can set up multiple times on them with Trailblaze to prevent revenge killing and Swords Dance to still be a powerful wallbreaker. Zacian-C completely shuts down Ribombee on Sticky Web teams with Terastallization and an immunity to Trick, presenting a major threat if it can set up on a predicted Ribombee lead. Deoxys-S can still use Taunt to prevent Swords Dance, but in exchange Zacian-C is still able to use Trailblaze and then attack to prevent any Spikes or Stealth Rock from going up, while still being in a prime position against incoming Pokemon. Behemoth Blade and Wild Charge are the most natural coverage options, with Tera Electric-boosted Wild Charge dishing out high damage, OHKOing Tera Fire Koraidon and having a very favorable roll to OHKO offensive Necrozma-DM at +3 Attack. This Zacian-C set prefers to have teammates that don't enjoy dealing with many entry hazards and also aren't very reliant on Terastallization against hyper offense, since Zacian-C plans to use it early with this set. Usually against hyper offense, it can force minimal entry hazards and also the opponent to either Terastallize in response or give up multiple pieces, so teammates that can clean up an offense team from there are generally beneficial. Pokemon like Extreme Speed Arceus or Choice Scarf Koraidon appreciate the bulkier offense Pokemon being weakened and entry hazards not being as prevalent, making them strong partners to cover for the hyper offense matchup as a core very well. Since this Zacian-C is tailored for the offense matchup, it may find itself struggling more than a standard wallbreaker set against balance teams featuring Pokemon like Groudon, Landorus-T, or stall with Skeledirge. This makes strong wallbreakers like Choice Specs Kyogre, Swords Dance Necrozma-DM, and Taunt variants of Arceus also very useful as teammates. Entry hazard users like Ting-Lu and Groudon also work to make this set into a late-game cleaner rather than an early-game wallbreaker against balance teams where the Trailblaze aspect isn't needed on turn one. Since this Zacian-C can mainly be dealt with by offense with Terapagos using Roar, these entry hazard setters will also have an easier time keeping hazards up with Terapagos weakened, helping them in the offense matchup.
