Análisis

Set Details Sludge Bomb hits opposing Grass-types like Rotom-C and Tsareena. Knock Off punishes most switch-ins and also weakens walls like Talonflame, Mantine, and Weezing. Sleep Powder is another way to pressure some of these targets, but it falls short versus some of Tangela's counters like Escavalier and Vileplume. Synthesis instead allows Tangela to perform well directly after taking a +2 Silvally-Ground's U-turn. 16 Special Defense EVs prevent Life Orb Starmie's Ice Beam from OHKOing at full health, and another 16 EVs into Speed let Tangela outpace Adamant Copperajah. Regenerator allows Tangela to scout for certain attacks and sets, so after sponging a hit, be ready to switch Tangela back out to its teammates. Mudsdale and Sylveon are good partners for taking Knock Off so that Tangela may retain its Eviolite. Steel-types like Stakataka and Copperajah may switch into STAB special attacks from Alolan Exeggutor, Exploud, and Indeedee-F, and they rely on Tangela switching into Ground-types. Offensive teammates like Duraludon and Salazzle appreciate Tangela luring in walls like Vileplume and Weezing, which lets them get in safely. This also works for when Tangela uses Sleep Powder on targets like Copperajah and Sylveon, which allows offensive partners like Silvally-Ground and Toxicroak to get in safely.
