Analyse

Thanks to its high Speed tier and access to Nasty Plot and a pseudo-priority move in Prankster Copycat, Liepard separates itself from other Nasty Plot sweepers such as Skuntank and Alolan Persian. Copycat is mainly used to call Dark Pulse and prevent faster foes like Froslass, Choice Scarf Rotom, and Alolan Dugtrio from revenge killing a Nasty Plot-boosted Liepard. Encore provides Liepard setup opportunities by locking foes such as Piloswine and Articuno into undesirable moves. Heavy-Duty Boots are preferred on VoltTurn teams to help Liepard avoid entry hazards and potentially pivot. Black Glasses are an alternative that makes up for Liepard's average Special Attack, making it require less chip damage to clean. VoltTurn support from pivots such as Uxie, Articuno, and Rotom helps Liepard come on the field in spite of its lackluster bulk. Special wallbreakers such as Exeggutor, Rotom, and Jynx can soften opposing special walls in order to let Liepard clean late game. Checks to Fighting-types such as Uxie, Qwilfish, and Altaria take on Sawk and Gurdurr, which force Liepard out. Likewise, checks to Fairy-types like Klinklang, Silvally-Poison, and Rapidash are great partners that handle Alcremie and Clefairy. Checks to Dark-types such as Alcremie, Gurdurr, and Sawk are also appreciated, as Silvally-Dark and Skuntank can take on Liepard. Kangaskhan is a threat because of Fake Out outprioritizing Copycat, letting it easily revenge kill a weakened Liepard; therefore, checks like Uxie, Tangela, and Cofagrigus are appreciated.

Analyse

The combination of Prankster and Sunny Day lets Liepard act as an excellent mid-game sun setter. U-turn lets it pivot into a teammate that benefits from sun, such as Shiftry and Ivysaur. Knock Off helps Liepard further support its teammates by removing Heavy-Duty Boots from Articuno and Altaria. Encore locks foes such as Silvally-Poison and Uxie into unfavorable moves like Work Up and Stealth Rock, giving Liepard free turns to set up sun and pivot with U-turn. Heat Rock is necessary to provide as many sun turns as possible to Liepard's partners. Liepard is a must-have on sun teams and is appreciated by sun sweepers such as Shiftry, Ivysaur, and Rapidash. Uxie's sun setter set also fits well on sun teams for its capacity to reliably set Stealth Rock and sun for its team. Furthermore, a third sun setter such as Exeggutor provides more possibilities to set up sun.

Analyse

With excellent Speed, STAB Knock Off, and great coverage choices, Liepard makes for a potent all-out attacker. U-turn pivots from switch-ins like Poliwrath, Tangela, and Alolan Persian. Prankster Copycat revenge kills naturally faster Pokemon and Choice Scarf Pokemon locked into certain moves, like Froslass, Alolan Dugtrio, and Choice Scarf Sawk and Rotom. Sucker Punch alongside Life Orb provides more consistent priority. Gunk Shot targets Alcremie and Tangela, while Play Rough hits incoming Fighting-types like Sawk, Throh, and Gurdurr. If Liepard chooses not to run Copycat, then Limber should be chosen to avoid paralysis from Stunfisk. Liepard fits well on VoltTurn teams, being able to use Prankster Copycat to copy slow Volt Switches and U-turns. Pivots like Articuno, Thwackey, and Choice Scarf Rotom can work with it to wear down the opposition. Liepard's Knock Off helps cripple entry hazard removers like Articuno and Cryogonal, allowing Stealth Rock setters like Palossand and Rhydon to keep up hazards more consistently. While some of Liepard's checks, like Gurdurr and Tangela, hate losing their items to Knock Off and getting pivoted on by U-turn, Liepard can still struggle to break through them by itself. Special attackers, like Jynx and mixed Silvally-Poison, can ease its need for prediction and give it switch-ins to fall back on. Spikes setters like Qwilfish and Froslass can make Liepard increasingly difficult to switch into.
