Analisi

Larvesta's typing, high natural bulk, ability to spread burns, and access to reliable recovery make it a strong defensive pivot. With its high physical Defense and Flame Body, Larvesta can check physical attackers such as Mienfoo and Alolan Sandshrew. Alternatively, Will-O-Wisp offers a more consistent way to burn foes. With Morning Sun, Larvesta can reliably heal itself, helping it continuously check foes while pivoting. This EV spread maximizes bulk, allowing Larvesta to repeatedly fish for burns. Tera Fairy retains Larvesta's Fighting resistance while gaining a Dark resistance, which can be useful against foes such as Vullaby and Mienfoo that use Knock Off. Additionally, Terastallizing removes Larvesta's 4x weakness to Stealth Rock. Because of its weakness to Stealth Rock, Larvesta requires hazard control, making options such as Rapid Spin Toedscool and Alolan Sandshrew strong partners. In return, Larvesta can check Mienfoo and opposing Alolan Sandshrew. Larvesta is an excellent partner for Gothita, gaining momentum by using U-turn on resists such as Glimmet and Mareanie to bring Gothita in safely so it can trap them. Larvesta's burn support can also help setup sweepers like Nasty Plot Vullaby find more setup opportunities.
