戦術解説

Appletun is a Choice Specs wallbreaker that cleanly OHKOes a great spectrum of the metagame, including fast Miltank, Tangela, Rhydon, and Gurdurr. Dragon Pulse is a no-drawback alternative to Draco Meteor that allows Appletun to still nail switch-ins without being locked into the momentum-draining Draco Meteor long-term. Recover gives Appletun invaluable longevity at the cost of momentum; it also works well versus Knock Off users like Tangela and Thwackey. Thick Fat is the ability of choice, allowing Appletun to take weak Ice-type moves like Silvally's Ice Beam while assisting it in dealing with Fire-type attackers like Rapidash and Ninetales more easily. Choice Specs Appletun puts out phenomenal offensive pressure and can switch into Pokemon that it resists common attacks from with ease such as Rhydon, Galarian Stunfisk, Kabutops, Palossand, and Raichu. VoltTurn users like the Silvally formes, Rotom, and Uxie all make for useful teammates, creating momentum and giving Appletun easy entry onto the field. Physical wallbreakers like Klinklang, Sawk, and Rhydon that can threaten the special walls Appletun struggles with like Articuno and Clefairy are also invaluable for its team. In turn, Appletun threatens out physically defensive staples like Palossand, Rhydon, Miltank, and Altaria.

戦術解説

Physically Defensive Appletun is an excellent physical wall; thanks to its solid bulk, unusual typing, and Thick Fat, it has a unique set of resistances that allows it to absorb hits from the likes of Rhydon, Gourgeist, Alolan Dugtrio, Kabutops, and standard Rapidash. Its Eject Pack also allows it to act as a one-time pivot, hitting hard with Draco Meteor, especially if Apple Acid is used beforehand, as it pivots out. Body Press allows Appletun to beat Steel-types like Klinklang and Pawniard while Leech Seed is useful for allowing it to sustain through physical variants of Silvally, Sawk, defensive Qwilfish, and Kangaskhan. The given EV spread lets Appletun outspeed uninvested Rhydon and Gurdurr. Special walls like Galarian Stunfisk, Miltank, and Articuno make for great partners, covering for each other's weaknesses. Physical wallbreakers like Klinklang, Sawk, and Rhydon and special wallbreakers like Skuntank, Thievul, and Jynx appreciate being able to come in through Draco Meteor to continue to apply offensive pressure. Rotom, Skuntank, Silvally-Poison, and Morpeko all appreciate Appletun's ability to put pressure on common Ground-types, while Appletun appreciates both the momentum they generate and the pressure they put on opposing Fairy- and Ice-types. Lastly, Appletun is greatly appreciated as a Knock Off absorber by Eviolite users like Gurdurr and Rhydon and Heavy-Duty Boots users like Rapidash, Articuno, and Altaria.
