Aside from allowing Cinccino to hit Rock-types meaningfully, Bullet Seed is super effective against a large number of physically defensive Pokemon that would otherwise switch in, like Jellicent, Sandaconda, and Quagsire. With Knock Off, Cinccino can support its team by removing important items from its checks, such as Ferroseed's Eviolite or Aggron's Leftovers. It also targets Ghost-types like Doublade. U-turn is useful for racking up chip damage; it also hits switch-ins like Eldegoss hard. Rock Blast is an option to better function as a revenge killer without a damage-boosting item, notably OHKOing Charizard and Archeops. Triple Axel also works to hit Archeops as well as Grass-types like Eldegoss and Gourgeist-S. Cinccino can also utilize Encore to break past some walls, locking them into status moves, and be a situational safety net against bulky setup sweepers like Calm Mind Mesprit. Protective Pads helps Cinccino against the tier's numerous Rocky Helmet, Iron Barbs and Rough Skin users, such as Togedemaru and Druddigon. Heavy-Duty Boots is another way of limiting the amount of passive damage Cinccino suffers. Choice Band vastly improves Cinccino's prowess as a revenge killer by allowing it to OHKO offensive Charizard, Gallade, and several less common Pokemon like Galvantula. If Cinccino is not required to outspeed anything faster than Charizard, an Adamant nature can be used over Jolly for some additional power. With its pitiful defenses, Cinccino needs to be brought in with pivoting moves of teammates like Togedemaru and Wishiwashi. Wishiwashi, in particular, can also deal with bulky Rock-types like Regirock and walls such as Weezing and Sandaconda. Wallbreakers such as Choice Specs Jellicent can take advantage of the likes of Aggron and Garbodor, and Cinccino can bring them in safely with U-turn on a predicted switch. Spikes from setters like Sandslash and Ferroseed works very well with Cinccino, as most of its checks lack reliable recovery and get worn down quickly after Knock Off removes their Leftovers or Heavy-Duty Boots. By removing items from the likes of Doublade and wearing down Steel- and Poison-type walls, Cinccino can also benefit sweepers like Quiver Dance Ribombee and Swords Dance Silvally-Fairy.

Cinccino can outpace fast Pokemon such as Heliolisk and attempt to power through more offensive teams and special walls like Druddigon, Slowking, and Delphox with the combination of Choice Band, Skill Link, and its many multi-hit moves. Cinccino can also remove items such as Steelix's Leftovers and Weezing and Druddigon's Rocky Helmet with Knock Off or pivot out of bad matchups with U-turn. However, its lack of options to hurt Steel-type Pokemon super effectively like Steelix and inability to break physically defensive Pokemon like Weezing make Cinccino a horribly outclassed Pokemon in NU.

Moves Tail Slap is a strong STAB attack that can reliably break Focus Sashes and Substitutes. Bullet Seed hits Rock-types such as Rhyperior and Omastar for solid damage. Rock Blast takes down Accelgor as well as Flying- and Fire-types such as Golbat and Delphox. Knock Off hits Ghost-types such as Cofagrigus and is a good move in general for removing foes' items. Alternatively, U-turn can be used to bail Cinccino out of a bad matchup and maintain momentum for your team. Set Details Maximum Attack and Speed investment is necessary so that Cinccino can hit as hard and as quickly as possible. A Jolly nature allows Cinccino to outspeed fast Pokemon such as Virizion. Choice Band maximizes Cinccino's damage output, while Life Orb can be used if the ability to switch attacks is preferred. However, the recoil from Life Orb will wear Cinccino down very quickly. Skill Link allows Tail Slap, Bullet Seed, and Rock Blast to always hit five times, thus maximizing their damage output. Usage Tips If the opponent packs an obvious entry hazard lead such as Omastar, lead with Cinccino and break the foe's Focus Sash with the appropriate move. Upon defeating the opponent's lead, feel free to preserve Cinccino for the late-game. Once in the late-game, however, do not switch Cinccino into anything; only bring it into the battlefield on a free switch. Moreover, be sure to significantly weaken opposing Steel-types and physical walls before attempting a sweep, as Cinccino struggles to get past them. If you predict the foe will switch out, use U-turn or Knock Off on the switch to maintain momentum or directly punish the switch-in, respectively. Team Options Fire- and Fighting-types such as Delphox and Hitmonlee will annihilate the Steel-types that give Cinccino significant trouble. Pokemon that resist Fighting-types such as Aromatisse and Spiritomb can easily absorb Mach Punch from the likes of Hitmonlee and Gurdurr. Entry hazard setters such as Qwilfish will give Cinccino an easier time landing KOs. A slow U-turn or Volt Switch user such as Eelektross can be used to safely bring Cinccino into the battlefield. A Dark-type such as Drapion or Houndoom checks the Ghost-types that are immune to Cinccino's Tail Slap. Pokemon susceptible to entry hazards, such as Fletchinder, appreciate Cinccino's ability to thwart opposing entry hazard leads.

While a Life Orb provides Cinccino with late-game sweeping prowess, a Choice Band gives Cinccino enough power to be able to break through most defensive cores. A Choice Band also does not wear down Cinccino like a Life Orb does; hence, it can utilize U-turn more effectively, allowing it to serve as an effective hit-and-run attacker and hard hitter at once. This set also scores KOs on bulkier Pokemon such as Amoonguss and Slowking. Tail Slap is Cinccino's STAB move of choice, hitting with great power against many Pokemon. Choice Band allows Cinccino to deal with threats it would be unable to break through otherwise, such as Amoonguss and Slowking. Technician is significantly less useful, as with it, Cinccino must rely on a higher degree of luck as opposed to Skill Link guaranteeing five hits out of every move. Technician can, however, be useful in some situations for the extra power provided in each hit. Aqua Tail is a usable option in the final moveslot to hit Steelix. However, because it can only achieve a 4HKO at best, it isn't particularly useful. An Adamant nature is a viable alternative if the extra power is needed, especially given that Cinccino outspeeds base 100 Speed foes such as Typhlosion and Charizard regardless. However, with an Adamant nature, Cinccino loses the ability to outspeed Archeops and Scolipede. Cinccino will very often struggle with Steel- and Ghost-types such as the aforementioned Escavalier, Steelix, and Spiritomb. This makes a Fire-type such as Entei or Moltres important, as they can severely damage the former, while absorbing Will-O-Wisp from the latter. Users of Pursuit, such as Spiritomb and Absol, are also very helpful to keep Ghost-types that keep Cinccino at bay. Magneton is also a good teammate, trapping Steel-types, while Volt Switch can allow it to form a VoltTurn core to keep up offensive momentum. For this reason, along with attaining KOs on bulky Pokemon such as Amoonguss, entry hazard support from the likes of Qwilfish, Smeargle, or Crustle is greatly appreciated. Qwilfish also serves to check the Fighting-types that may give Cinccino trouble.

This set functions as an anti-lead and revenge killer. With Choice Scarf along with the multi-hitting moves Cinccino packs, it can defeat common leads such as Aerodactyl and Accelgor while maintaining decent power. A Choice Scarf also grants Cinccino the ability to outspeed foes it normally wouldn't be able to, such as Choice Scarf Emboar and Rotom-C as well as Sceptile. Tail Slap is the preferred STAB move for its extra power over Return. Bullet Seed, as previously mentioned, is a great coverage move to maim incoming Kabutops and Rhydon. A Fire-type such as Entei or Moltres is also useful to severely damage Steel-types while being able to safely take on Ghost-types. Alternatively, Magneton can trap the Steel-types and hit them while taking little damage from most Ghost-types, and its access to Volt Switch also allows it to keep offensive momentum. Finally, users of Pursuit, such as Absol and Spiritomb, are helpful to keep Ghost-types at bay.

This is Cinccino's standard cleaning set. Its high Speed allows it to outpace a vast majority of Pokemon in RU, while its solid Attack allows it to sweep weakened teams. Its good coverage also complements its cleaning ability, meaning it can hit many Pokemon except for Steel- and Ghost-types for at least neutral damage. That said, Tail Slap is the STAB move of choice here, taking advantage of Skill Link and hitting for a massive 125 Base Power. Bullet Seed is the preferred coverage move, hitting Kabutops, Rhydon, and Slowking for heavy damage. Rock Blast is a great move to use with Skill Link as well, hitting Moltres and Crustle in addition to dealing decent damage to Escavalier. Finally, Aqua Tail is chosen to dent weakened Steelix and Aggron. Maximum investment has gone into Attack and Speed to be as fast and powerful as possible. A Jolly nature is chosen in order to be able to outspeed Jolly Scolipede and Archeops, two Pokemon Cinccino wouldn't be able to outspeed with an Adamant nature. A Life Orb is the chosen item here to increase Cinccino's likelihood of successfully executing a sweep. King's Rock is usable, as with Cinccino's use of multi-hit moves and high Speed, it can cause flinches; however, the loss in power without Life Orb is very noticeable. Finally, U-turn can be used to switch out of common counters such as Steelix and Spiritomb, but the Life Orb damage along with entry hazards will quickly rack up. As Cinccino very often struggles against Steel-types, a Pokemon such as Magneton or Magmortar can be immensely helpful. The former can trap the Steel-types and eliminate them, while the latter simply roasts them while providing offensive synergy with Cinccino as well as absorbing Will-O-Wisp. Pursuit support from the likes of Spiritomb and Absol is great in order to eliminate Ghost-types such as Rotom and Misdreavus. Finally, entry hazard support from Pokemon such as Scolipede, Roselia, and Qwilfish aids Cinccino in nabbing KOs on some bulky Pokemon such as Druddigon and Slowking.
