This set attempts to set up Stealth Rock and, if possible, status the opposing Pokemon it can check, such as Flying-types like Oricorio-G and Swanna, or switch out to take advantage of Regenerator. Unfortunately, Corsola doesn't really accomplish anything besides setting Stealth Rock and fainting. Omastar, Clefairy, and Regirock fulfill this role with a lot more success because of their better stats and, with the exception of Omastar, typing. Regirock is especially noteworthy because it fills the same role, checks very similar Pokemon, and generally has more to offer in a team slot.

Moves Stealth Rock breaks foes' Focus Sash and Sturdy as well as weakening them for Corsola's teammates. Recover allows Corsola to regain its health and can help it stall foes until they are KOed by Toxic or another status condition. Scald is Corsola's only attacking option and offers chip damage and the potential to burn a foe, which can stop physical attackers in their tracks. Toxic weakens foes to the point where Corsola can stall them out or a teammate can come in to take them out. Toxic is also beneficial to take on Grass- and Water-types that try to switch in against Corsola. Set Details Maximum HP and Special Defense EVs allow Corsola to function as a specially defensive wall and better take on special attackers such as Floatzel and Kadabra. Leftovers offers a bit of recovery per turn, which can be important when paired with Recover. Regenerator restores Corsola's health as it switches out, allowing it to come back onto the field with more HP. Usage Tips If Corsola is on the field with low HP and you need to save it to take on a threatening Pokemon, switch it out if possible to allow for a Regenerator boost. Just because this Corsola set uses Stealth Rock doesn't mean that you always have to use it as your lead, although setting up Stealth Rock is its primary objective. If needed, before Corsola sets up Stealth Rock, it can opt to go for Toxic or Scald against a setup sweeper or when you predict a threatening or bulky Pokemon to switch in. After it sets up its entry hazard, Corsola should attempt to weaken the opposing team with Scald and Toxic. Attempt not to get Corsola statused, as it can get weakened fairly easily when afflicted with Toxic or a burn. Corsola can switch into threatening Pokemon in the metagame such as Kadabra, Floatzel, and Simipour. Team Options Corsola fits best on defensive teams, as it lacks an offensive presence and needs teammates to support it, in taking on status and super effective hits. Grass-types such as Gogoat, Roselia, Gourgeist-XL, and Tangela assist Corsola by resisting Electric-, Ground-, and Grass-type moves, while Corsola resists Fire- and Ice-type moves for them. Electric-types such as Stunfisk and Rotom-F can take on Electric-type moves for Corsola, although they share a weakness to Ground-type moves, bar Rotom-F. Rotom-F can also damage Grass- and Ground-types with Blizzard. Ghost-types such as Misdreavus and Gourgeist-XL can take on Ground- and Fighting-types, which threaten Corsola. Flying- and Fire-types such as Jumpluff, Dodrio, Ninetales, and Simisear can take on Grass-types for Corsola. Rest users such as Zweilous and Munchlax can absorb status for Corsola and allow it to survive longer, although Munchlax and Zweilous have to be running a RestTalk set to do so. Similarly, clerics such as Grumpig and Audino can heal off Corsola's status. Setup sweepers such as Duosion, Clefairy, and Klang appreciate Corsola's entry hazards, which weakens the opposing team. Quilladin and Roselia can set up Spikes, which work well in conjunction with Stealth Rock in weakening foes. Misdreavus and Gourgeist-XL can block foes from removing Corsola's Stealth Rock with Rapid Spin, while Pokemon such as Grumpig and Zweilous appreciate entry hazards and status from Corsola, as they can force a switch with Whirlwind and Dragon Tail, respectively.

Corsola can take quite a few physical hits without trouble, partly thanks to its good defensive typing and access to reliable recovery in Recover. This set doesn't just beat Braviary, but also checks a lot of other Normal- and Flying-types such as Swellow, Kangaskhan, and Tauros. Regenerator is also extremely useful, as it enables Corsola to stay alive for much longer and act as a decent pivot. Power Gem is the attacking move of choice as it prevents Braviary from setting up Substitutes against Corsola, breaking them 100% of the time with four Special Attack EVs. Toxic is an essential move for Corsola, as it is the main way of wearing down most Pokemon due to Corsola's lack of offensive presence and its low Base Power moves. Toxic is also vital in defeating Substitute + Bulk Up Braviary, as, alongside Power Gem breaking its Substitutes, Braviary will eventually go down. Stealth Rock is Corsola's move of choice if your team doesn't have a Pokemon with the move, but otherwise Scald is the best choice, as it provides some useful coverage to get decent damage off and a chance to burn on anything it hits. Good Pokemon to pair alongside Corsola include those that beat the numerous Fighting-, Ground-, and Grass-type Pokemon that reside in NU. Solid candidates for this role include Pokemon such as Musharna, Ludicolo, and Roselia. Musharna provides Heal Bell support, which can heal Corsola of annoying status conditions that reduce its longevity. Roselia can take on special attackers that trouble Corsola while setting up Spikes, which are useful for the stall teams that Corsola often finds its home on. Ludicolo does well against Ground-types, specially attacking Water-types, and Eelektross, all of which give Corsola trouble, while Corsola handles the Flying-types that beat Ludicolo. Either Rock Blast or Rock Slide can be used over Power Gem, as Rock Blast breaks through Substitutes and Rock Slide is more powerful. Power Gem is the preferred option though, as the other two moves aren't guaranteed to break Braviary's Substitutes due to the fact that it uses Bulk Up to boost its Defense, and Braviary has no way to boost its Special Defense. A more specially bulky spread can be run instead, but the main purpose of Corsola in the first place is to beat Normal- and Flying-type Pokemon, and a physically defensive spread is far better at accomplishing that.

Corsola generally isn't a Pokemon you'd want to use competitively, but if you choose to do so, this set is her best option. She has usable defensive stats, as well as access to Recover, an important asset that Omastar lacks. Corsola also resists Fire-, Flying-, Ice-, and Normal-type attacks, making her a decent supporter. Stealth Rock and Toxic allow Corsola to support her teammates, while Natural Cure allows Corsola to absorb status moves aimed at her teammates, as it removes any status inflicted on her upon switching out. Corsola can run Explosion with a Relaxed nature to go out with a bang, hopefully removing one of the opposing Pokemon from the game in the process; however, her poor Attack stat means that even Explosion does not deal much damage. Sandstorm support from Hippopotas and max EVs in Special Defense may be helpful to turn Corsola into somewhat of a specially defensive "tank"; however, the types she resists are normally physically based, therefore investing in Defense is more suitable to Corsola's typing. Finally, a spinblocker is necessary to prevent Stealth Rock from being removed from the field, making Mismagius and Spiritomb good partners. Bulky Water-types, such as Milotic and Slowbro, cause problems for Corsola, so packing an Electric-type like Magneton or Rotom would be smart. Venusaur and Cacturne are also good teammates, hitting bulky Water-types super effectively or draining their health with Leech Seed. Toxic Spikes are also helpful, slowly wearing down bulky Pokemon with increasing poison damage if you can get both layers down. Fire-types such as Moltres and Arcanine are helpful, as they can blast through Grass-types like Venusaur, who can otherwise cause huge problems for Corsola. RestTalk Arcanine is an excellent choice due to his ability to switch into Sleep Powder with ease. Mixed Blaziken is another excellent choice who is able to destroy both physical and special walls. Finally, Altaria can switch into Grass-type attacks with her 4x resistance and set up with Dragon Dance.

Pure support set. Toxic, either confuse the enemy or pseudo-pass Reflect or Light Screen, then Mirror Coat if you can. You can also put one of the pseudo-passing move over Mirror Coat, or use both and no Confuse Ray, but Mirror Coat is its best way to do damage. Probably won't do very much, but its worth a shot.

Choose your favorite Rock-type move, but remember that Hustled Rock Blast only has 64% accuracy. Explosion is powerful but extremely risky with Hustle, so you may want to go with Earthquake. Hidden Power Fighting is really just for Tyranitar, though it hits Blissey harder than anything but a Rock Blast with 4 or 5 hits. Psychic for Weezing, Surf for Skarmory, standard CB fare. Always use Hustle with this for the extra pop, though I will admit a Natural Curing CBer is interesting. Too bad he doesn't have the Attack to back it up.

Weird set, but here's how it works: Reflect will bring in a Special Attacker. Light Screen or Amnesia on the switch, then Mirror Coat the subsequent attack and get the hell out of there. Focus Band to try and survive a Grass-type attack and Mirror Coat it back. Recover is there to get your HP back when you find a safe time to switch in. Toxic because once they know what you're up to, all this can do is pseudo-pass. Not too bad of a set, and it takes advantage of Corsola's good defenses.

The best you're going to get. All of his movesets except a very select few should use Recover. His Special Attack is better than his Attack, so use his best STAB move, Surf, and Ice Beam for Flying- and Dragon-types, then Toxic to help wear things down. Use Psychic if you want more of a pure sweeping set or Calm Mind if you think you can pull it off. Leftovers because Natural Cure takes care of status recovery. Switch out at the sight of Sceptile and Zapdos etc., but try and hit with an Ice Beam on the switch in.

This is probably the best you can do with this useless Pokemon. Corsola has average defenses, but bad typing. Start Cursing up, and if you're lucky, that will bring in a special attacker. If it's something you can survive, Mirror Coat it back for the KO, then Recover to get health back. When they catch on, attack with Ancient Power until you can't do any more. If you really want to use it, Surf can go over Mirror Coat for the inevitable Ground-type switch-in, but you'll need a Curse or two to take an Earthquake from something like Rhydon or Thick Club Marowak, and your Surf won't OHKO a lot of stuff. Grass-types still beat this as well.

More of a support set, and at least you can Toxic Grass-types without a secondary Poison typing. Surf any Ground-types who come in to kill you, and Mirror Coat other stuff that you can.
