Farigiraf can reach great heights as a setup sweeper thanks to its great bulk and solid Special Attack. Psyshock hits specially bulky Pokemon such as Naclstack and Articuno and ignores Special Defense boosts on sweepers like Lilligant and Jolteon. As Farigiraf accumulates multiple boosts, though, Stored Power helps it become a taller order for teams to check, and it hits physically bulkier Pokemon like Regirock and Sandaconda harder. However, Stored Power provides less immediate damage for breaking teams and is more inflexible by requiring Farigiraf to spend multiple turns boosting. Dazzling Gleam covers Dark-types like Spiritomb and Sneasel, and after Terastallizing Tera Fairy Farigiraf, it becomes even stronger. Armor Tail aids Farigiraf's sweep by denying priority attacks like Aqua Jet from Accelrock from Lycanroc and Ice Shard from Sneasel. Armor Tail also saves Farigiraf from being locked into its setup by Prankster Encore from Whimsicott and Sableye. Farigiraf can invest fully in its Special Attack to become immediately more threatening, potentially sweeping just off of Agility, but full investment in HP gives it better opportunities to use multiple setup moves; Psyshock is better tailored for sets with maximum Special Attack investment, compared to Stored Power, which works better on maximum HP sets where it can more comfortably accumulate multiple boosts. Farigiraf fits on hyper offensive teams as a setup sweeper. Fellow setup sweepers such as Virizion and Toxicroak greatly appreciate partnering with Farigiraf, given its positive matchups against Prankster disruptors like Whimsicott and Sableye. Powerful offensive partners like Clawitzer, Virizion, and Typhlosion can break holes in teams for Farigiraf to more easily sweep. Farigiraf has to exhaust Terastallization in order to beat Spiritomb, so it appreciates partners that can deal with it, such as Whimsicott and Magneton. Hyper offense leads like Froslass and Lycanroc can set up entry hazards to help weaken foes like Regirock and Dipplin to better enable Farigiraf to sweep. Orthworm is a tough target for Fargiraf to break on its own, so it appreciates help from Fire-type teammates like Charizard and Typhlosion that can pressure it. Fighting-type partners like Primeape, Virizion, and Hitmontop can handle Orthworm as well as another obstacle to Farigiraf in Regirock. Hisuian Sneasel is a standout partner for Farigiraf by checking all three aforementioned stops to it, while Fargiraf pressures its defensive answers such as Weezing and Muk.

Hyper Voice activates Throat Spray to inflict a lot of damage and boost subsequent Psychics. Psyshock deals less damage than Psychic overall, but it allows Farigiraf to hit Flutter Mane and Assault Vest Pokemon like Rillaboom harder. Throat Spray allows Farigiraf to put really good amounts of pressure unlike other Trick Room setters. Life Orb allows for more immediate damage and more pivoting ability, as you wont lose the damage boost when switching out, but provides less damage overall. The HP and Special Defense EVs allow Farigiraf to survive Tera Fairy Moonblast from Choice Specs Flutter Mane, Tera Normal Helping Hand-boosted Hyper Voice from Life Orb Ursaluna-B, as well as non-Tera Life Orb Blood Moon. The heavy amount of Special Attack investment allows Farigiraf to serve its role as an offensive Pokemon very well, especially after a Throat Spray boost. The Defense investment allows Farigiraf to take Surging Strikes from Tera Water Choice Scarf Urshifu-R.

Farigiraf functions well as a supportive and offensive Pokemon. After a Throat Spray boost, Psychic OHKOes Amoonguss and 2HKOs Flutter Mane. Twin Beam reliably OHKOes Focus Sash and Psychic-weak Pokemon like Urshifu-R and Mienshao. Hyper Voice deals consistent damage and activates Throat Spray. The EV spread allows Farigiraf to survive Adamant Koraidon’s Flare Blitz and Kyogre’s Water Spout. Throat Spray powers up Farigiraf's already powerful attacks after a Hyper Voice. This allows it to then pick up KOs on foes like Koraidon. Tera Fairy is used on Farigiraf to resist powerful super effective attacks from Dark-types like Urshifu-S and Chi-Yu along with Fairy being a great neutral type in the metagame. Tera Normal sheds Farigiraf's Dark weakness and allows it to deal massive damage with Hyper Voice, 2HKOing on Pokemon like Miraidon and Clefairy. Farigiraf has to be careful of powerful Dark-type attacks from Chi-Yu and Incineroar. A great partner for Farigiraf is Kyogre because it appreciates Farigiraf blocking powerful Grassy Glides and Thunderclaps as well as Fake Out. Other Pokemon like Incineroar and Rillaboom are also great partners, as they offer Fake Out support, allowing Farigiraf to set up Trick Room and, through Hyper Voice, Throat Spray. Urshifu-R is another amazing partner because it can hit the annoying Steel- and Dark-types that keep Farigiraf in check while also synergizing well with the aforementioned partners. It also appreciates Farigiraf's nullification of Fake Out, Thunderclap, and Grassy Glide as well as it removing Amoonguss.

Farigiraf's main role is as a bulky support piece and Trick Room setter, and its ability to block priority is incredibly valuable in a format full of moves like Fake Out, Grassy Glide and Thunderclap. Due to its typing, it has a good matchup into Calyrex-S, and its Psychic-type STAB moves are generally good into the metagame but especially into Amoonguss and Urshifu-R. Tera Blast is often used in the second moveslot, as both before and after Terastallization, it gives Farigiraf a consistent single-target STAB move. Foul Play is used to give Farigiraf a way to hit both Calyrex formes for super effective damage, being able to 2HKO both. Electric Seed is used in tandem with Miraidon and gives Farigiraf more bulk, allowing it to stick around longer to support the team with Helping Hand and Armor Tail. Sitrus Berry allows Farigiraf to disrupt the opponent for longer than it would be able to without it. It can also help it take some double-ups to help safely get Trick Room up, such as Surging Strikes + Knock Off from Urshifu-R and Incineroar. Safety Goggles is viable if your team has a particularly bad matchup into Amoonguss and you want Farigiraf to be able to set up Trick Room without being put to sleep without Electric Terrain support from Miraidon. The HP and Special Defense EVs allow Farigiraf to tank a Choice Specs Beads of Ruin single-target Tera Starstorm from Terapagos, and the rest is put into Defense. Tera Ground is used next to Miraidon to allow it to freely use Discharge, and Tera Fairy allows it to resist the Dark- and Bug-type moves it'd otherwise be weak to like Knock Off and U-turn from Incineroar and Rillaboom, while also resisting Fighting-type attacks and gaining an immunity to Dragon-type moves, like Collision Course and Draco Meteor from Koraidon and Miraidon, respectively. Farigiraf really doesn't like Restricted Pokemon that can OHKO it and potentially prevent Trick Room, such as Kyogre or Tera Fire Koraidon. It also struggles against fast Taunt users, such as Speed Booster Energy Flutter Mane, due to them being able to prevent Trick Room from going up, and bulky Dark-types like Incineroar, as Farigiraf can't hit them very hard without Tera Ground. Incineroar in particular can force it to Terastallize with Knock Off. Miraidon and Farigiraf are great partners for each other, as Farigiraf stops Miraidon from being interrupted by Fake Out, which is particularly important for the Choice Specs set, and Miraidon can activate the Electric Seed to make Farigiraf even bulkier; furthermore, as previously mentioned, Farigiraf can even Tera Ground so Miraidon can freely click Discharge next to it, while the Electric Terrain makes Farigiraf immune to Amoonguss's Spore. Farigiraf itself benefits from partners that can help it set Trick Room, such as bulky Fake Out users like Incineroar and Rillaboom as well as redirectors like Amoonguss and the Ogerpon formes. Trick Room sweepers also like having Farigiraf as a partner; for example, Calyrex-I loves the boost from Helping Hand, and so does Ursaluna-B. Another great partner is Iron Hands on the aforementioned Miraidon teams, as Farigiraf enjoys having a Fake Out user as a partner, and its Helping Hand lets Iron Hands do insane levels of damage with Quark Drive.

Set Details Farigiraf is a great supportive pick for a team. Its good defensive typing makes it a solid Calyrex-S check, and with Electric Seed, it can also match up well into Calyrex-I. Farigiraf also has the ability to block various priority moves such as Fake Out, Sucker Punch, and Thunderclap, keeping Farigiraf and its partners safe. Foul Play can hit both Calyrex formes for heavy damage while dealing solid damage to other strong physical attackers such as Koraidon, Ogerpon, and Ursaluna. Psychic can be used to reliably hit Urshifu-R and Amoonguss, while Psychic Noise can stop recovery from Rillaboom's Grassy Terrain and Terapagos's and Ho-Oh's Leftovers and prevent Iron Hands from using Drain Punch. Electric Seed helps Farigiraf have a much better matchup against strong physical attacks such as Wood Hammer from Rillaboom and Throat Chop or Crunch from Chien-Pao. Electric Seed can also weaken the power of Knock Off from Incineroar, which Farigiraf would normally struggle against. The EV spread allows Farigiraf to live a Crunch or Throat Chop from Chien-Pao, Flare Blitz from Life Orb Koraidon, or Body Press from Zamazenta-C comfortably while letting it take a Draco Meteor from Special Attack Booster Energy Raging Bolt. Tera Water is great against Urshifu-R because it will resist Surging Strikes, and it lets Farigiraf more comfortably take Glacial Lance from Calyrex-I. Tera Dark packs a resistance to Wicked Blow from Urshifu-S, while letting Foul Play OHKO low bulk Calyrex-S and deal hefty damage to Calyrex-I, though it can be vulnerable to Close Combat from both Urshifu formes and Koraidon and Body Press from Zamazenta-C. Teambuilding The Urshifu formes can bypass the Electric Seed Defense boost with Surging Strikes and Wicked Blow, with Urshifu-S being able to OHKO Farigiraf. Farigiraf can also be vulnerable to strong special attacks like Electro Drift from Miraidon, Dark Pulse from Chi-Yu, and Water Spout and Origin Pulse from Kyogre. Dark-types such as Incineroar, Chien-Pao, and Grimmsnarl are good checks, since Farigiraf does negligible damage back. Taunt from Flutter Mane and Incineroar can also shut down Farigiraf's supportive capabilities. Miraidon is mandatory to pair alongside this set, helping Farigiraf activate Electric Seed and easily removing the Urshifu formes with Electro Drift and Dazzling Gleam while greatly appreciating Farigiraf's ability to block Fake Out and Sucker Punch, which may hinder Miraidon. Iron Hands and Calyrex-I like Farigiraf's ability to reliably set Trick Room and support with Helping Hand while having a good matchup into opposing Iron Hands and Calyrex-I. In return, Iron Hands can remove the Dark-types that Farigiraf struggles against.
