戦術解説

With a Choice Scarf, Frogadier becomes the fastest Pokemon in the tier and can act as an excellent pivot, revenge killer, and late-game cleaner. Surf threatens Choice Scarf Monferno and Trailblaze Pignite, while Ice Beam hits Drakloak and Scale Shot-boosted Gabite. U-turn is critically important to pivot on defensive answers to Frogadier like Quaxwell and Tinkatuff. Switcheroo + Choice Scarf can cripple setup sweepers like Wartortle, Duosion, and Girafarig and a few key defensive pieces like Quaxwell and Clefairy. Spikes supports Frogadier's team and is a more valuable way to punish its checks in longer games. Choice Scarf Frogadier can easily slot into a variety of team structures. Faster builds appreciate its revenge killing capabilities, but slower, more defensively oriented structures can still strongly take advantage of the utility Switcheroo and Spikes give and the potential late-game wincon Frogadier provides. Frogadier synergizes very well with Stealth Rock setters like Piloswine and Tinkatuff, as Frogadier can stop their common offensive checks like Monferno and Gabite. Frogadier also naturally forces a lot of switches, which helps rack up entry hazard damage. Fire-type offensive pivots like Raboot and Monferno can both maintain offensive momentum with U-turn while threatening walls like Dunsparce and Tinkatuff. They also offensively check Thwackey, which is a natural predator to Frogadier thanks to Grassy Glide. Grass-types like Thwackey and offensive Ivysaur both function as strong wallbreakers that punish Quaxwell and Clefairy for switching in and can easily be brought in with U-turn. Ivysaur also functions as a solid defensive check to opposing Thwackey. Despite sharing the same type, Quaxwell is a great teammate, as hazard removal makes Frogadier's pivot-centric playstyle less taxing, and, after a Flip Turn, Frogadier can punish the Ghost-types that Quaxwell invites in like Drakloak with Switcheroo or Ice Beam. If running Spikes, a spinblocking Ghost-type is nearly essential to keep it up.

戦術解説

Choice Specs Frogadier is an extremely threatening wallbreaker that has few long-term checks. Surf and Protean-boosted Ice Beam have few Pokemon that resist both moves, and U-turn allows Frogadier to gain momentum on anything it can't blow past immediately. Spikes is another way to punish Frogadier's defensive checks like Quaxwell and Hisuian Sliggoo by wearing them down with indirect damage. Hydro Pump is worthy of strong consideration with Choice Specs, as it OHKOes Piloswine, which can otherwise OHKO Frogadier back. Switcheroo is a great disruptive tool against both defensive staples like Tinkatuff and Quaxwell and setup sweepers like Dunsparce. While not limited to hyper offense, Choice Specs Frogadier prefers to be on faster teams that can take advantage of its early wallbreaking power. Thwackey is an excellent offensive partner to pivot to, as it can immediately threaten Quaxwell, Frogadier's most common switch-in. Late-game setup sweepers like Girafarig and Duosion can take advantage of the early-game progress that Frogadier makes against defensive cores. If running Spikes, then a Ghost-type like Drakloak is essential to block Rapid Spin. Piloswine and Tinkatuff can both serve as checks to Hisuian Sliggoo while also being capable of setting Stealth Rock to chip at Frogadier's checks. Lastly, a Grassy Glide switch-in like Girafarig or Ivysaur is important, as Thwackey is a natural revenge killer for Frogadier.

戦術解説

Spikes lets Frogadier heavily pressure the opposing team while also making it immune to Thunder Wave due to Protean. Ice Beam hits Grass- and Dragon-types like Thwackey, Ivysaur, Fraxure, and Drakloak and removes its Grass weakness, allowing it to always survive Eviolite Thwackey's Grassy Glide. U-turn allows it to escape problematic matchups, such as Quaxwell and Wartortle, and generate momentum by bringing its teammates in on advantageous matchups. Frogadier fits on offense and balance teams focused on setting entry hazards. Ghost-types are nearly mandatory teammates for Frogadier, providing spinblocking support to ensure Spikes stay up on the field in a metagame where Rapid Spin is the primary hazard removal method. Drakloak is a good consideration due to its good typing, Speed tier, and movepool. Pawniard is also a decent partner for Frogadier, punishing Defog attempts from Vullaby with Defiant—even though Defog is relatively uncommon—and using the Attack boost to potentially clean or dent the opposing team. Frogadier pairs excellently with other hazard setters like Tinkatuff, Piloswine, Gabite, and Koffing, supporting it in relentlessly pressuring the opposing team with hazards and other utility or damage-dealing moves. Tinkatuff and Koffing also help Frogadier in dealing with Grass-types, most notably Thwackey, which can easily revenge kill Frogadier with Grassy Glide. Strong Pokemon such as Thwackey, Pikachu, Raboot, Pignite, and Girafarig heavily appreciate Frogadier's Spikes support, which enables them to wallbreak or clean with ease. Thwackey assists Frogadier by dealing with threats like Quaxwell and Wartortle, while Frogadier threatens Fire-types like Raboot, Monferno, and Pignite for Thwackey. Pikachu is a good partner for similar reasons, and it appreciates Frogadier threatening Ground-types such as Piloswine and Gabite. Setup variants of Dunsparce and Duosion are also terrific teammates, being excellent wincons through their bulk, helpful abilities, and reliable recovery. Defensive teammates for Frogadier include Pokemon like Quaxwell and Ivysaur. Quaxwell provides the much-needed Rapid Spin support, ensuring Frogadier's team is unaffected by hazards while the opposing team writhes in agony due to them. Ivysaur fends off pesky Grass- and Water-types for Frogadier.
