戦術解説

Despite its NFE status, Sneasel is a real threat in PU due to it being one of the fastest Pokemon in the tier. When holding Choice Band, Sneasel packs a punch with its relatively high Attack stat and can break through even some of the best walls in the tier such as Venusaur and Amoonguss with Triple Axel. Ice Shard helps Sneasel by KOing low-HP foes such as sweepers like Espeon and Oricorio, or getting damage on faster Pokemon such as Hisuian Electrode and Choice Scarf Zoroark. Low Kick allows Sneasel to hit Steel- and Dark-types such as Alolan Sandslash and Alolan Persian for good damage. Sneasel typically runs Tera Ice to amplify the power of Triple Axel and Ice Shard, making it so that Triple Axel always OHKOes Florges no matter how much bulk it has invested. Tera Dark also benefits Sneasel by removing its weakness to Stealth Rock and Fire-type moves. Sneasel typically appears on teams ranging from hyper offense to bulky offense, where it acts as a wallbreaker alongside Pokemon such as Paldean Tauros-F and Hoopa. Sneasel benefits these partners by providing chip damage on opposing Pokemon such as Florges and Amoonguss, while also removing their item, making them easier to deal with for the rest of the team. Sneasel likes partners that can deal with Fighting- and Fire-type Pokemon such as Paldean-Tauros-F, Delphox, and Arcanine; such partners include Espeon, Bruxish, and Hisuian Braviary. However, even with a Choice Band, Sneasel still can't muscle through bulkier walls such as Milotic and Qwilfish, so Sneasel enjoys having partners that check them such as Pawmot and Palossand, respectively. When using Sneasel, entry hazard control is imperative, as it cannot function well without it, so having teammates such as Espeon, Tatsugiri and Alolan Sandslash really help Sneasel. Sneasel profits off having other wallbreakers such as Dudunsparce and Arcanine, since it can often struggle to OHKO opposing Pokemon. Since Sneasel is so frail, it really enjoys having teammates that are slow pivots so Sneasel can safely get in to threaten opposing Pokemon such as Florges, Hariyama and Goodra. Some such teammates are Uxie, Milotic, and Frosmoth.

戦術解説

Sneasel is an effective Swords Dance sweeper in PU thanks to its incredible STAB combination alongside a decent Attack stat, which both let it hit threats such as Espeon, Hisuian Decidueye, and Delphox, and a great Speed tier that allows it to outspeed all of the previously mentioned Pokemon. With Knock Off, Sneasel can hinder common switch-ins such as Paldean Tauros-F and Hariyama by removing their items. Ice Shard is useful to pick off Choice Scarf users such as Florges and Pawmot while also stopping setup sweepers like Oricorio-F and Jolteon. While Heavy-Duty Boots is generally preferred due to Sneasel's Stealth Rock weakness, Life Orb is an option on some hyper offense teams to allow Sneasel to ensure rolls such as OHKOing Calm Mind Florges and Rhydon at +2. Inner Focus is chosen as Sneasel's ability, as the immunity to Fake Out and Intimidate is helpful against Ambipom, Arcanine, and Paldean Tauros-F. In terms of Tera type, Tera Ice boosts the power of Triple Axel to nuclear levels, allowing Sneasel to OHKO Mudsdale after a Swords Dance and 2HKO even Pokemon that resist Ice-type moves, like Arcanine and Qwilfish. It also boosts Ice Shard to make Sneasel a more reliable revenge killer. Alternatively, Tera Ghost benefits Sneasel defensively by giving it immunity to priority such as Arcanine's Extreme Speed and Pawmot's Mach Punch while allowing it to set up in the face of Pokemon that would otherwise threaten it out, like the aforementioned Pawmot and Choice item-locked Paldean Tauros-F. Sneasel is used almost exclusively on offense and hyper offense teams as a secondary sweeper and cleaner and is usually paired with another sweeper like Arcanine or Espeon to help it in its sweep. Espeon's Magic Bounce also comes in handy if Sneasel is running Life Orb. Sneasel's ability to rip holes through common Ground- and Grass-types like Mudsdale, Rhydon, and Venusaur helps enable teammates such as Rotom-H, Salazzle, and Golurk to more easily steamroll an opposing team. Since Sneasel's poor defenses keep it from coming in safely, offensive pivots that can bring it onto the battlefield like Jolteon, Ambipom, and Bruxish are excellent teammates. Even after a Swords Dance, Sneasel still needs help chipping walls like Milotic and Terastallized Rhydon so they can be in range of its attacks. As such, Goodra and Delphox are excellent teammates in this role.
