Moves Wish allows Spritzee to restore its own HP and pass 13 HP boosts to teammates. Protect allows Spritzee to receive its own Wishes when it would otherwise be KOed by a foe's attack, and it can also ease prediction against Choice-locked Pokemon. Moonblast provides Spritzee with a STAB move that hits the Fighting-type Pokemon it aims to check, and it hits most of the metagame at least neutrally, making the most of Spritzee's limited offensive presence. Additionally, Moonblast carries a decent chance to lower the foe's Special Attack, which can come in handy against checks. Covet allows Spritzee to regain an item after switching in on Knock off, which it will do frequently. Alternatively, Psychic allows Spritzee to almost always OHKO Croagunk as well as 3HKO Foongus and Mareanie, making it more difficult to switch into. Calm Mind is used to allow Spritzee to sweep late-game if its checks have been eliminated, as it can slowly boost up while healing itself with Wish. Aromatherapy heals Spritzee's team from status moves, making it the better option on teams that are susceptible to burns or paralysis. Set Details The given EV spread and a Bold nature maximize Spritzee's physical bulk and allows Spritzee to pass the largest Wishes possible to its teammates. Spritzee prefers physical bulk over special bulk because its role is to check Fighting-types, which are predominantly physical attackers. The remaining EVs go into Special Attack, Special Defense, and Speed. Eviolite boosts Spritzee's Defense and Special Defense stats, giving it greater bulk and longevity. Aroma Veil is the preferred ability because it gives Spritzee an immunity to certain stallbreaking moves, such as Taunt and Encore. Usage Tips Spritzee should be brought in against the Pokemon it checks, most notably Fighting-types that aren't Croagunk. From there, Spritzee can heal itself and its teammates with Wish and Protect. Despite its good bulk, be careful of allowing Spritzee to take super effective hits, especially if its Eviolite has been knocked off, as it can get worn down quickly. However, Spritzee can take most neutral hits, so don't be afraid to attack. If you're running Calm Mind, Spritzee should wait until late in the game to set up, after its checks have been weakened and it has a safe opportunity to set up. If Spritzee is acting as a wincon in a given battle, be careful about letting it get hit by Knock Off, which will limit its eventual setup opportunities. If you're using Aromatherapy, Spritzee can take advantage of the switches it forces by coming in on the Pokemon it checks to quickly heal its team. Be aware of the fact that Spritzee often requires using Protect the turn after using Wish to heal itself, which can give the opponent a free switch or setup opportunity, especially late in the game, and predict accordingly. Team Options One of Spritzee's greatest attributes is its ability to form defensive cores. Munchlax and Ferroseed both appreciate Spritzee's ability to take care of opposing Fighting-types and the recovery that Spritzee's Wish passing can provide, and in return, they can handle Steel-types, except Pawniard, and Poison-types, respectively. Mudbray can handle the Steel-, Poison-, and to a lesser extent, Fire-type Pokemon that give Spritzee trouble, and it appreciates the recovery that Spritzee provides it. Hippopotas also makes a good defensive partner for Spritzee, checking Poison-, Fire-, and Steel-type Pokemon and wearing down opposing teams with weather damage, entry hazards, and Whirlwind. Bulky Pokemon without recovery appreciate Spritzee as well. Skrelp, Timburr, Mienfoo, and Croagunk easily take on most of the Pokemon that threaten Spritzee and appreciate Wish support, as they tend to get worn down. Pursuit trappers such as Alolan Grimer synergize well with Spritzee on all team types, as they are able to remove Gastly, which would otherwise render Spritzee useless for a match. If you're running the Calm Mind set, Spritzee appreciates partners that can break down the Pokemon that resist Moonblast for an eventual late-game sweep. Diglett makes a fantastic partner, as it is able to trap nearly all of the Fire-, Steel-, and Poison-types in the metagame and remove them from battle. Ponyta and Larvesta double as Pawniard checks and can check many of the Pokemon that threaten a Spritzee sweep, most notably Foongus, but both are vulnerable to Skrelp and Mareanie. A Pawniard check is essential when using Spritzee, however, making Fighting-types and Flame Body users good partners.

Moves Nasty Plot is Spritzee's method of boosting, quickly allowing its attacks to do more damage. Moonblast is Spritzee's most powerful STAB move, OHKOing even defensive Vullaby sets after a Nasty Plot boost. Psychic hits Poison-types like Croagunk, Mareanie, and Foongus. Trick Room makes Spritzee even harder to stop, allowing it to outspeed most viable Pokemon, but it requires Spritzee to have two free turns of setup, which are often hard to find. Hidden Power Fire hits Steel-types like Magnemite and Ferroseed, which otherwise wall this set; however, the required IVs force a Special Attack drop, and the speed control from Trick Room is near required, especially on the Eviolite set. Draining Kiss is an option over Moonblast if you want Spritzee to have some more longevity, but the lack of power is very noticeable when compared to Moonblast. Set Details The EVs aim to invest as much into Special Attack as can be afforded. Spritzee's Special Attack is maximized, but enough defensive investment is given to hit Eviolite numbers and optimize bulk. 16 Speed EVs let Spritzee outspeed Foongus, allowing it to use Psychic before getting hit by Spore or Sludge Bomb. If running Hidden Power Fire, use an EV spread of 52 HP / 116 Def / 176 SpA / 76 SpD / 16 Spe to fill the requirements of running the move. This will cost an extra Special Attack point, however. Aroma Veil is Spritzee's most useful ability, making Taunt and Encore non-issues. Eviolite increases Spritzee's already impressive natural bulk, allowing it to tank a hit before setting up or attacking or bluff the normal set and set up on a U-turn. Berry Juice lets Spritzee avoid a 2HKO from Pokemon like Life Orb Staryu, Life Orb Diglett, and Mareanie, but makes it more difficult to set up on Knock Off users. Usage Tips This set is a bit less bulky than others and lacks Wish recovery, so it functions less as an emergency blanket check to Fighting- and Dark-types and more like a regular setup sweeper. Thus, try not to switch it into attacks as often, as it will need to take a couple just to set up and attack. Try to keep entry hazards up, as Spritzee can't secure KOs on Pokemon like Foongus and Mareanie without them, even at +2 Special Attack. If using Trick Room, don't use it if Pokemon like Foongus are still healthy, as they will go before Spritzee under Trick Room and KO it. Spritzee doesn't need to sweep to be successful. Don't be afraid to use it to simply break a core or clean up late-game. Team Options Entry hazard setters like Mudbray and Onix allow Spritzee to secure KOs more easily; they are also good at checking Fire- and Poison-types. Knock Off users like Mienfoo, Timburr, and Pawniard can soften up the opposing team further, especially Poison-types, allowing Spritzee to sweep. Slow Mienfoo sets can benefit from Trick Room and provide a slow U-turn to Spritzee. Diglett is very helpful for trapping all sorts of Poison-, Fire-, and Steel-types and dispatching them with Earthquake. It can also provide Memento support to aid a sweep. Magnet Pull Magnemite can trap Ferroseed, and Spritzee can get rid of Fighting-types for it in return. A secondary Fighting-type check, like Mareanie or Foongus, may be helpful, as this Spritzee lacks the longevity to consistently check them. Pokemon like Snivy and Corphish appreciate Spritzee's ability to break through Pokemon that normally check them, like Croagunk.

Moves Wish provides Spritzee with a form of recovery and can be used to heal its teammates. Protect ensures Spritzee can heal itself with Wish, and it can provide other situational uses, such as scouting opposing Choice item users and avoiding damage from Fake Out. Calm Mind allows Spritzee to set up late-game and attempt a sweep. Spritzee can also run Aromatherapy in this slot, trading the ability to set up for the ability to remove status effects from itself and its teammates. Moonblast is Spritzee's best STAB move, scoring a super effective hit on the Fighting-types that Spritzee checks while also providing good neutral coverage on a large portion of the metagame, which is ideal for sweeping. Set Details Maximum investment in HP and Defense alongside a Bold nature allow Spritzee to check physical attackers as effectively as possible. Maximum investment in HP is also useful for passing the largest possible Wishes to Spritzee's teammates. The remaining EVs give Spritzee another point in Special Attack, Special Defense, and Speed, while Eviolite is used to enhance Spritzee's bulk even further. Aroma Veil gives Spritzee an immunity to Taunt and Encore, which is invaluable for a supporting Pokemon. Usage Tips Spritzee should mainly be switching in on Fighting-types beside Croagunk and Pancham and Dark-types beside Pawniard. Once Spritzee is in safely, it can use Wish to heal itself or its teammates and can also clear its team of status effects if it runs Aromatherapy. If Spritzee is carrying Calm Mind, bring it in late-game once its checks and counters are weakened enough to begin setting up. Spritzee's Eviolite should be preserved if attempting a late-game sweep, as this maximizes Spritzee's potential setup opportunities. Be cognizant of the mechanics of Wish and Protect, as being too reliant on Protect can sometimes allow the opponent to switch in a dangerous offensive Pokemon late-game and use Spritzee as setup bait; always consider the possibility of switching to a teammate or predicting a switch-in with Moonblast after using Wish. Team Options If Spritzee carries Calm Mind, its best partners are Pokemon that can defeat Steel-, Poison-, and Fire-types, giving Spritzee a much better shot at sweeping late-game. Porygon has excellent synergy with Spritzee; together, the two can check a huge portion of the metagame and provide a defensive backbone for several team archetypes. Porygon can run an offensive set with Download to lure in and KO opposing Steel-types; Hidden Power Fire KOes Ferroseed after Tri Attack and Hidden Power Fighting OHKOes Pawniard. Diglett and Gothita can trap numerous threats to Spritzee and KO them. Diglett can trap most Fire-, Steel-, and Poison-types, but misses out on Foongus and Ferroseed. Gothita can trap Foongus and Ferroseed as well as Poison-types, but has more difficulty trapping several Fire- and Steel-types. Fire-types such as Ponyta and Numel can defeat several of Spritzee's checks, notably Steel-types and Foongus, with ease. Ponyta and Numel can also break through Poison-types such as Gastly and Croagunk, as these Pokemon cannot tank strong Fire-type attacks. Numel can also handle opposing Fire-types thanks to Earth Power, which Ponyta struggles to do. However, Ponyta can be used as a check to Fighting-types so that Spritzee doesn't have to risk switching into a Knock Off. Spritzee can form defensive cores with a large number of Pokemon in the metagame, courtesy of its typing and great bulk. Normal-types such as Munchlax and Lickitung have good synergy with Spritzee; Munchlax is able to handle opposing Steel-types with Fire Punch or Earthquake, while Lickitung can form an incredibly bulky double Wish core with Spritzee. In return, Spritzee will be able to take on the Fighting-types that trouble these Normal-type partners. Hippopotas and Ferroseed also synergize well with Spritzee, providing residual damage on the opposing team with entry hazards, and in Hippopotas's case, Sand Stream. Hippopotas provides an answer to Fire-types and grounded Poison-types, although it dislikes being burned or poisoned. Ferroseed handles Foongus and Skrelp that lack Hidden Power Fire and can also check opposing Shell Smash users and offensive Water-types that may threaten to sweep the team. In return, Spritzee offers these partners valuable Wish support. Thanks to Bulletproof, Chespin can easily handle Foongus, Bellsprout, and Gastly. Bulky Pokemon that are being worn down and Pokemon that hate status effects will appreciate Spritzee's cleric support. Mienfoo, Pancham, Chinchou, Skrelp, and Timburr are all great examples of Pokemon that can benefit from having Spritzee as a teammate.
