Moves Stealth Rock damages all foes switching in and breaks Sturdy and Focus Sash. Toxic is Wormadam-S's best way to deal any damage, as it puts foes on a timer. Protect allows Wormadam-S to scout for moves while also racking up Toxic damage and recovering some health with Leftovers. Iron Head is Wormadam-S's only attacking move and allows it to both function while Taunted and hit Rock- and Ice-types such as Armaldo and Cryogonal super effectively. Set Details 252 EVs in HP maximize Wormadam-S's overall bulk. 252 EVs in Defense along with an Impish nature add to Wormadam-S's physical bulk, allowing it to better handle physical attackers such as Stoutland and Sawsbuck. Leftovers provides passive recovery each turn, which is important because Wormadam-S has no form of reliable recovery. Overcoat is the preferred ability to keep Wormadam-S from being sleep fodder for the likes of Jumpluff and Tangela. Usage Tips Wormadam-S's primary objective is to set up Stealth Rock for its teammates. Toxic should be used often to put opposing foes on a timer. Protect should be used mostly to rack up Toxic damage and to scout for any attacks aimed at Wormadam-S, but it must be used carefully, as foes can use this turn to set up entry hazards or use boosting moves. Because of its typing, Wormadam-S can switch in on attacks from Pokemon such as Stoutland and Jumpluff and either use Toxic or attack with Iron Head. Team Options Due to its lack of offensive presence, Wormadam-S only fits on defensive and stall teams. Pokemon that can take of Fire-types, such as Lumineon and Altaria, make good partners for Wormadam-S. Spikes and Toxic Spikes support from Pokemon such as Quilladin and Roselia complements Wormadam-S's Stealth Rock support to wear down the opposing team faster, but keep in mind that all these Pokemon are weak to Fire-type attacks. Wish support from Pokemon such as Lickilicky and Audino is greatly appreciated, as Wormadam-S is easily worn down.

Wormadam-S fits best on stall and balanced teams. It primarily sets up Stealth Rock, providing its team with a reliable damage source. Stealth Rock also limits the amount of times Fire-types can switch into it, which is nice considering that Fire-types counter this set. After setting up, Wormadam-S spends the rest of its time crippling opponents with Toxic. It also uses Protect to rack up Toxic damage and Leftovers recovery. Gyro Ball is the STAB attack of choice as Wormadam-S needs the highest damage output possible to leave any sort of dent in the opponent. Wormadam-S uses a Relaxed nature and 0 Speed IVs is to power up Gyro Ball. Wormadam-S can use a more specially defensive spread to counter Psychic-types better. Anticipation is the most helpful ability because it warns Wormadam-S of any surprising coverage moves the opponent might carry. Iron Head is an option instead of Gyro Ball because it has more PP, but the lack of power is disappointing. Pokemon that resist Fire-type moves, such as Seismitoad, Camerupt, and Carracosta, make great defensive partners for Wormadam-S, and Camerupt can also phaze Pokemon trying to set up on it. Toxic Spikes support from Garbodor is very helpful to Wormadam-S as it aids in its stalling capabilities. Roselia can also set them up reliably, but stacking Fire-type weaknesses is not a safe idea. Lastly, Wish support is common in stall and balanced playstyles from teammates such as Lickilicky, Alomomola, and Audino and keeps Wormadam-S alive longer.

This is Wormadam-S at its best. Wormadam's main strategy will be to set up Stealth Rock as early as possible, and then attempt to cripple a few Pokemon before it faints. Gyro Ball is its main attacking move, as it gains STAB and is quite powerful due to Wormadam's low Speed stat. Wormadam-S has access to both Toxic and Protect, allowing it to effectively Toxic stall opposing Pokemon. Protect also has the added benefit of enabling Wormadam-S to scout for Hidden Power Fire, as Wormadam's ability, Anticipation, does not allow it to detect the type of Hidden Power. Wormadam-S's resistances are more suited to "countering" special attackers, and thus the EVs and nature have been chosen to reflect this. Max HP and 240 Special Defense EVs give it a considerable amount of bulk on the special side, and allow it to survive two +2 Thunderbolts from Mismagius, whilst 16 Defense EVs allow Wormadam-S to never be 2HKOed by a +2 Double-Edge from Leafeon, factoring in Leftovers recovery from Protect. Leftovers is chosen to complement Wormadam's bulk, whilst Sassy is the chosen nature to maximize Special Defense and maintain a low Speed stat, in order to give Gyro Ball more power. Milotic is a great partner to Wormadam-S, as it is able to switch in on the Fire-type Pokemon who threaten Wormadam-S and strike back with Surf. Omastar is also an excellent teammate thanks to its 4x resistance to Fire-type moves and ability to set up entry hazards. Slowbro is also a good switch-in, as it resists many of the moves that would normally fatally wound the pink-bagworm, and heal itself with Slack Off or set up dual screens to support the team. Houndoom and Arcanine appreciate Wormadam-S's ability to cripple bulky Water-types with Toxic, and can also switch in on Fire-type moves and receive a boost thanks to Flash Fire, turning them both into deadly sweepers.
