전술 분석

Set Details Body Press utilizes Avalugg's Defense stat to threaten 2HKOs or 3HKOs on most offensive threats while hitting bulky Steel-types for super effective damage. Body Press also threatens attackers such as Tera Steel Flygon and Incineroar. Since Avalugg is slower than nearly the entire metagame, Avalanche is a great STAB option. However, Ice Spinner can sometimes be preferable for more consistent damage and can remove Terrain, which helps Avalugg and its team against Psychic Terrain offense teams. Earthquake deals super effective damage to Fire-, Poison-, and Electric-type wallbreakers that try to take advantage of Avalugg, such as Chandelure, Munkidori, and Raikou. Sturdy allows Avalugg to always survive a single attack in a pinch and retaliate. Tera Poison gives Avalugg a great defensive typing, providing it with a resistance to Fighting and making it immune to poison and Toxic, which would otherwise cripple it, from Bellibolt and Amoonguss. Alternatively, Tera Water grants Avalugg important resistances to Fire, Steel, and Water, letting it better withstand attacks from threats like Incineroar, Copperajah, and Basculegion-M. Avalugg's entry hazard control and high Defense is appreciated by many teamstyles from balance to stall. However, Avalugg's abysmal Special Defense means that it benefits greatly from blanket special walls such as Bronzong, Chansey, and Porygon2, which can switch into the many special attackers that force Avalugg out like Dudunsparce, Sylveon, and Chandelure. Fire- and Fighting-type wallbreakers like Paldean Tauros-F, Flamigo, and Infernape can overwhelm Avalugg, meaning Pokemon that can switch into their attacks, such as Chandelure, Gligar, and Amoonguss, are good partners. Avalugg struggles to threaten Ghost-types like Chandelure with its attacks, especially if it lacks Earthquake, making Dark-types such as Incineroar good partners for it. These two can also burn and poison wallbreakers, making it much easier for Avalugg to outlast them. Water-types, such as Vaporeon, Basculegion-M, and Inteleon can pose a huge problem for Avalugg, as they have strong special attacks and are difficult to switch out of due to the risk of Vaporeon's Scald burning an incoming Pokemon, Basculegion-M's Adaptability boosting its STAB attacks, and Inteleon's U-turn giving it momentum. Water-immune Pokemon such as Vaporeon and Toxicroak can help immensely, while status-immune wallbreakers, such as Facade Braviary and Guts users like Heracross as well as Hariyama, can force them out or set up on them. Alolan Ninetales outspeeds many Fighting-type wallbreakers that threaten Avalugg, such as Flamigo and Paldean Tauros-W and can KO them with Moonblast. It also sets snow for Avalugg, boosting its Defense considerably. In return, Avalugg can draw in and dent Steel-type walls, such as Duraludon and Copperajah, which are difficult for Alolan Ninetales to get past, by using Body Press and Earthquake.
