전술 분석

Precipice Blades is less accurate than Headlong Rush and requires Sword of Ruin, which hits Imposter users for less damage due to the ability cancelling out, but it is valuable as a non-contact move to avoid Rocky Helmet and moves like Burning Bulwark; Headlong Rush should be used with Tough Claws. V-create is the best option to hit Fur Coat Celesteela and Levitate Steel-types like Arceus-Steel and Melmetal. Sunsteel Strike allows Mega Garchomp to OHKO Fur Coat Mega Audino and Arceus-Fairy after Stealth Rock, while Bolt Strike 2HKOes Fur Coat Mega Slowbro and Dondozo. First Impression offers useful priority that can let Mega Garchomp threaten faster Pokemon like Ultra Necrozma and Mega Alakazam, though other priority moves like Extreme Speed or Shadow Sneak are also options depending on desired targets. Mega Garchomp is most commonly seen on slower balance teams that can repeatedly pivot it in to gradually break down opposing teams. Thus, slow pivots, including RegenVest users like Dialga-O and Teleport users like Blissey, are excellent to safely bring it in. Mega Garchomp's slow Speed mandates teammates that can deny Strength Sap healing from its checks; Chansey and Blissey can block Strength Sap from most Fur Coat Arceus formes, but they cannot handle other users like Zamazenta and Secret Sword users, making Pokemon like utility Flutter Mane and Magic Bounce Clodsire or Arceus-Poison more reliable. Mega Garchomp also can pair well with Doom Desire and Future Sight users like Dialga-O and Mega Slowbro, with the former threatening Fairy-types and the latter hitting Zamazenta. Paralysis support from Pokemon such as the aforementioned RegenVest users can be helpful to slow down fast walls like Fur Coat Zamazenta as well as Imposter users. Mega Garchomp also appreciates Knock Off users removing items like Leftovers and Rocky Helmet. Imposter users can be useful to scout for Burning Bulwark and Beak Blast, and they also can take advantage of Fur Coat users that use Shore Up over Strength Sap. Thanks to its high damage output, Mega Garchomp can in return offensively Imposter-proof Pokemon weak to its STAB moves, such as the aforementioned Dialga-O, Blissey, and Poison-types. Mega Garchomp can be Imposter-proofed by most Fur Coat users that are not weak to its moves, such as the Arceus formes, Zamazenta, and Yveltal.

전술 분석

Shift Gear helps patch up Mega Garchomp's low Speed, and, unlike Tidy Up, it allows Adamant Mega Garchomp to outspeed Mega Alakazam after a boost. Precipice Blades is an option over Headlong Rush to avoid Burning Bulwark mind games. Bolt Strike and Electro Drift hit numerous targets, notably Celesteela and Fur Coat Mega Slowbro, with Bolt Strike being stronger against Levitate Steel-types, while Electro Drift OHKOes Mega Slowbro and Fur Coat Celesteela with the Life Orb boost. Alternatively, V-create also hits Celesteela while OHKOing Levitate Steel-types like Arceus-Steel but has the drawback of reducing Mega Garchomp's Speed, leaving it more susceptible to being revenge killed. Tough Claws should be used with Headlong Rush or Electro Drift, while Sword of Ruin should be used with Precipice Blades. Life Orb offers a crucial damage bonus, letting Mega Garchomp hit benchmarks like OHKOing Ho-Oh and Primal Kyogre unboosted as well as OHKOing non-Fur Coat Arceus formes at +1. 132 Defense EVs is an option for Tough Claws sets to ensure that Eviolite Imposter is always OHKOed at +1. Setup Mega Garchomp has limited longevity considering its reliance on Life Orb, making it more suited to be used as a cleaner when opposing walls have been conditioned to be broken through. Mega Garchomp can soften up walls for itself in the earlier stages, but support from teammates is necessary due to its lack of sustain. Teammates that can greatly limit Strength Sap healing like Chansey, Blissey, and Magic Bounce users such as Arceus-Poison and Clodsire are almost mandatory to keep physical walls chipped, and in return Mega Garchomp serves as a decent offensive Imposter-proof for the mentioned Pokemon. Entry hazard support from the likes of Arceus-Ghost, Flutter Mane, and RegenVest users also help chip Fur Coat Pokemon into range of being KOed. RegenVest users can also provide Knock Off and Nuzzle support; the latter is particularly useful to neutralize Imposter users and provide potential setup opportunities. Mega Garchomp can be Imposter-proofed by most Fur Coat users that carry Strength Sap or Topsy-Turvy and are not weak to its moves, such as Arceus-Fairy, Zamazenta, Yveltal, and if it is not running an Electric-type move, Water-types like Mega Slowbro and Dondozo.
