Moves Boosted by Sheer Force, Mega Camerupt's Fire Blast can rip neutral targets like Gliscor and Zapdos to shreds, and Earth Power is a great complementary STAB move to hit the likes of Toxapex and Heatran, both unbothered by Fire Blast. Toxic lets Mega Camerupt punish common switch-ins like Mega Latias and Rotom-W. Substitute eases Mega Camerupt's need for prediction on the many switches it can force. Rock Slide lets Mega Camerupt OHKO Mega Charizard Y and Volcarona, letting it check them in a pinch. Nature Power opens up a new world of coverage for Mega Camerupt, with Grassy Terrain granting a Sheer Force- and Terrain-boosted Energy Ball to dispatch Rotom-W, Electric Terrain giving Mega Camerupt access to a Thunderbolt for Pelipper and Gyarados, and Misty Terrain gifting Moonblast to 2HKO Mega Latias and Dragonite. Set Details The given Speed EVs let Mega Camerupt outspeed uninvested base 35 Speed Pokemon, mainly Toxapex. This also outspeeds other slower Pokemon like Quagsire, Mega Sableye, and Slowbro. Mega Camerupt is given maximum Special Attack EVs and a Modest nature to maximize its damage output, with the remaining EVs put into its HP for better bulk. Usage Tips Mega Camerupt makes use of its typing to gain safe entry against Volt Switch users like Tapu Koko and Magearna to unleash its powerful attacks. Because Mega Camerupt isn't very bulky and is very slow, positioning is key for using it, so VoltTurn cores help it hit the field safely. Mega Camerupt is generally only sent out in situations where it completely walls the opposing Pokemon, such as against Tapu Koko, Magearna, Zapdos, and Magnezone, as making trades is often unfavorable for it due to its terrible Speed. However, in a pinch, Mega Camerupt can make trades against Pokemon like Volcarona and Mega Charizard Y. Team Options Mega Camerupt appreciates pivots like Tapu Koko and Landorus-T to position it to punch holes in the opposition. Faster Pokemon like Ash-Greninja can clean up teams weakened by Mega Camerupt's onslaught. Tapu Bulu is a great partner for Mega Camerupt, taking on Water-types while Mega Camerupt takes on Steel- and Fire-types like Magearna and Heatran. Tapu Bulu's Grassy Terrain reduces the power of any Earthquake aimed at Mega Camerupt and grants it access to Energy Ball through Nature Power. Mega Camerupt can be found on semi-dedicated Trick Room teams with Trick Room setters like Magearna, though it can also be used on full Trick Room teams with extra Trick Room setters like Uxie and Cresselia alongside other Trick Room attackers like Alolan Marowak.

Moves Overheat serves as a backup STAB move for when Camerupt lacks the health to utilize Eruption, OHKOing Pokemon like Mudsdale and Gurdurr with enough chip damage beforehand. Flamethrower is a safe STAB option that offers consistent damage output, while Earth Power covers for Pokemon resistant to Camerupt's Fire-type moves like Regirock, Jellicent, and Gastrodon. Hidden Power Ice is an option over Overheat to cover Altaria, which can otherwise switch into any of Camerupt's attacks with ease, but it has no other applicable use. Set Details A Modest nature boosts Camerupt’s damage while still letting it outspeed defensive Pokemon such as Jellicent and Alolan Sandslash as well as uninvested base 50 Speed Pokemon like Regirock. Solid Rock reduces the power of Water- and Ground-type moves directed at Camerupt, allowing it to take less damage from moves like Qwilfish's Scald and Metang's Earthquake. Usage Tips Camerupt should find any safe opportunity possible to enter the field and apply pressure to teams with its powerful moves; it can notably switch into Pokemon like Silvally-Fairy and Stealth Rock setters such as Regirock attempting to set up entry hazards. However, it should avoid directly switching into most Pokemon, as taking excessive damage weakens the power of Eruption and generally makes it easier to pick off due to its poor defenses. To circumvent this, try to find openings for Camerupt to switch in, whether through a pivot or an aggressive double switch where it can exploit Pokemon such as Alolan Sandslash and Metang. If the opponent lacks a sturdy Fire-resistant Pokemon, Camerupt is often free to spam Eruption for the most optimal damage output, 2HKOing the vast majority of the tier including dedicated special walls like Audino. However, if this isn't the case, Camerupt may be forced to predict Pokemon like Jellicent and Gastrodon to switch in and take a hit, where Earth Power can be used to 2HKO them on the switch. Be careful when using Overheat and Eruption against more offensive teams, as their power is drastically weakened upon use or taking enough damage, which can leave it vulnerable to setup sweepers like Oricorio-E and Lycanroc. Once Camerupt has fulfilled its role or has been significantly weakened, it's advised to sacrifice it, as its abysmal Speed and inability to take most attacks prevent it from being effective late into a match. Team Options Pivots such as Lanturn, Primeape, and Alolan Persian are notable for keeping Camerupt healthy when sending it in to maximize Eruption's damage output and drawing in Pokemon for it to exploit like Ferroseed, Sableye, and Gurdurr. Lanturn also deals with Water-types like Jellicent and Swanna, while Alolan Persian can utilize Z-Parting Shot to bring Camerupt back up to full health. Entry hazard control aids Camerupt significantly; Stealth Rock and Spikes setters such as Regirock and Ferroseed wear down teams and punish Water- and Rock-types attempting to repeatedly switch into Fire-type moves, while Pokemon like Cryogonal and Swanna can clear entry hazards so Camerupt stays as healthy as possible. The previously mentioned Lanturn, Regirock, and Cryogonal are also important partners for their ability to come in and take hits from wallbreakers that can overwhelm Camerupt like Rotom-F, Stoutland, and Aurorus. Setup sweepers and late-game cleaners like Alolan Sandslash, Dodrio, and Oricorio-G enjoy having roadblocks such as Regirock and Eelektross removed or chipped while appreciating Camerupt's ability to whittle at defensive teams. Teammates like Alolan Raichu, Victreebel, and Poliwrath are great answers to Pokemon that may try to take advantage of Camerupt being locked into a Fire-type attack such as Regirock and Omastar, and Pokemon such as Eelektross and Lycanroc act as immediate answers to Earth Power switch-ins like Swanna and Oricorio-E.

Mega Camerupt can tank hits from Pokemon like Raikou and Salazzle while staying healthy with the combination of Rest and Sleep Talk. Unfortunately, Mega Camerupt's subpar stats outside of its Special Attack and weak defensive typing mean that it will rarely ever succeed in a serious RU battle. Seriously, use any Mega Evolution other than Mega Camerupt.

Moves Eruption is extremely powerful when Camerupt is at full health and is quite spammable, as even frailer Pokemon that resist it like Swanna and Simisear are OHKOed after Stealth Rock. Fire Blast allows Camerupt to still use a strong Fire-type STAB attack after its health has been reduced. Hidden Power Ice prevents Camerupt from being walled by Altaria, which is one of the few Pokemon that can confidently switch into Camerupt's STAB attacks. Set Details A Modest nature is preferred for maximum power output. Timid can be run if outspeeding Adamant Golem and Crustle is really important to your team, but it isn't recommended. Solid Rock allows Camerupt to take some weaker Ground-type attacks that would otherwise KO it. Notably, it allows it to survive Choice Scarf Electivire's Earthquake from full health in a pinch. Usage Tips Camerupt is generally an excellent option early-game, when it can fire off its powerful attacks to blow a hole in the opponent's defensive core; defensive entry hazard setters like Bronzor and Mareanie, for example, will be forced to flee from Camerupt, preventing them from getting their hazards up early and allowing Camerupt to fire off one of its powerful attacks. Camerupt's unique typing also grants it the ability to switch into Choice Scarf users such as Rotom-S and Electivire locked into an Electric-type move. Take advantage of these opportunities, as Camerupt can have some issues getting in, especially against offensive builds, due to its low bulk and somewhat exploitable defensive typing. Pivoting or aggressively double switching can allow Camerupt to get in against such offensive teams. Getting rid of entry hazards on your side of the field is important when using Camerupt, as losing health cuts into Eruption's Base Power and Camerupt needs Eruption at its maximum damage output if it wants to seriously dent Pokemon such as Lickilicky. Refrain from using Eruption if it looks like Camerupt will have to take a hit before moving, and use Fire Blast instead if this is the case. Team Options Cleaners appreciate Camerupt's ability to wallbreak early-game, as it allows them to clean up late-game with greater efficiency. Options such as Z-Rain Dance Swanna, Rock Polish Torterra, and Z-Me First Pinsir work well in this regard. Grass-types like Silvally-Grass, Gourgeist-XL, and Leafeon pair well with Camerupt, as they comfortably switch into both types that hit it super effectively. Camerupt, meanwhile, can take a few Fire- and Bug-type attacks, though it would be unwise to do so if Eruption is still needed. Silvally-Grass stands out in particular, as it can also remove entry hazards with Defog and use U-turn to get Camerupt in safely. It is worth noting, however, that this type pairing needs a check to Swanna, which hits both Camerupt and the Grass-types with its STAB attacks. An offensive Electric-type such as Electivire or a defensive answer like Bronzor can work in this regard. Camerupt in general greatly appreciates pivots that can get it in safely. Other options such as Silvally-Water, Electivire, and Komala can work in this regard, as they can use U-turn, Volt Switch, and Parting Shot to get Camerupt in safely. Entry hazard removal is imperative, as Camerupt must be as healthy as possible if it wants Eruption to be at full power. Defog support from the likes of Altaria, Silvally-Water, and Swanna can work well.

戰術分析
Moves Camerupt is a decent Stealth Rock setter thanks to its ability to force out common Pokemon such as Rotom-S and Bronzor. Toxic allows Camerupt to punish common switch-ins, such as Swanna, Silvally-Water, and Altaria. It also allows it to punishes bulkier Pokemon that might look to take advantage of Camerupt. Earth Power is generally the superior option in the last slot, as it allows Camerupt to immediately threaten Pokemon such as Combusken, Electivire, and Raichu. Protect can also work to scout for Choice item users and rack up Leftovers recovery, but it can allow threatening Water-types to get in safely. Will-O-Wisp can be used to spread burns, and Yawn can be used to potentially spread sleep and force switches, but Lava Plume and Toxic take care of that as is, and the utility provided by the other moves is generally better. Set Details Camerupt works best as a specially defensive wall, as its purpose is to check threats such as Raichu and Rotom-S. Solid Rock is the preferred ability, as it allows Camerupt to take a couple of weaker super effective attacks, such as Earthquake from Choice Scarf Electivire and Jolly Torterra. Usage Tips Camerupt should be used throughout the game to set up Stealth Rock and check certain special attackers like Rotom-S, Silvally-Dragon, and special Combusken. Switch into Pokemon that Camerupt can deal with, such as Rotom-S, Raichu, and Muk, to set up Stealth Rock or stop the latter two from setting up with Earth Power. Camerupt's reputation as a fearsome wallbreaker can help force some switches until the set is revealed. This can give Camerupt some opportunities to set up Stealth Rock early-game or cripple a normal switch-in like Swanna or Lickilicky with Toxic. Camerupt rewards scouting for powerful attacks and potentially deadly coverage moves. Be cautious to not overestimate Camerupt's bulk, as even invested it has issues taking powerful attacks from the likes of Exeggutor, Beheeyem, and Simisear. Camerupt should mainly look for opportunities to check certain Electric-types and set up Stealth Rock. Team Options Camerupt fits well on balance teams that need a bulky check to the aforementioned Electric-types that can also set up Stealth Rock. Water-types such as Silvally-Water and Floatzel pair very well with this set, as they appreciate Camerupt's ability to take Electric-type attacks and can take the Water-type attacks that threaten Camerupt in return. Grass-types such as Leafeon and Silvally-Grass also work well with Camerupt, as they resist both Water- and Ground-type attacks that could be thrown Camerupt's way. Strong wallbreakers such as Exeggutor, Choice Band Torterra, and Beheeyem appreciate Camerupt setting Stealth Rock up for them in order to break the opposing team down. Choice Band Torterra in particular can take Ground-type attacks for Camerupt and appreciates Camerupt's favorable matchup against Pokemon such as Bronzor and Gourgeist-XL. Camerupt appreciates entry hazard removal from the likes of Silvally-Water, Altaria, and Komala to prevent itself from getting worn down too quickly.

戰術分析
Heat Wave is a good STAB spread move that hits Grass- and Steel-types such as Tapu Bulu, Kartana, and Celesteela, which has an immunity to Earth Power, hard. Heat Wave also gets a power boost from Sheer Force. Eruption does slightly more damage than Heat Wave, has higher accuracy, and has synergy with Grassy Terrain recovery, but Heat Wave is more consistent because Eruption's damage depends on Mega Camerupt's HP. Mega Camerupt is able to threaten the Grass-types that resist Ground with its STAB Fire-type moves. Earth Power is a single target move that can hit Steel- and Rock-types such as Aegislash, particularly if it runs Wide Guard, and Tyranitar for heavy damage. Nature Power in Grassy Terrain transforms into Energy Ball, which is a good answer for opposing Water-types. Flamethrower is a single target move that can hit Wide Guard Celesteela. It's also useful as a backup move if Mega Camerupt is using Eruption and is low on HP. Fire Blast OHKOes specially defensive Amoonguss and Celesteela, but its bad accuracy makes it less consistent than Flamethrower. Protect is a very important move. It allows Mega Camerupt to protect itself from double targeting and gives it a free turn for a teammate. Solid Rock is the pre-Mega ability of choice because it reduces damage from super effective attacks and allows Camerupt to switch into attacks more freely. The given EV spread with a Quiet nature and 0 Speed IVs maximizes Mega Camerupt's damage output and minimizes its Speed, which is important for successful use under Trick Room. Mega Camerupt is good mid-game when Trick Room is set up and threats are weakened or eliminated. Mega Camerupt can also be used early-game to punch holes in the opposing team, but Trick Room must be set up. For successful use, Mega Camerupt requires Trick Room, so a Trick Room setter such as Porygon2, Gothitelle, or Oranguru is necessary in tandem with Mega Camerupt. Oranguru works especially well because with Instruct, it can provide Mega Camerupt with two attacks instead of one. Tapu Bulu is an excellent teammate because it sets up Grassy Terrain, which turns Nature Power into Energy Ball and weakens Earthquake. Tapu Bulu is useful outside of Trick Room if you failed to set it up. In return, Mega Camerupt can take on Poison-type attacks and threatens Steel-types. Ferrothorn is also a good teammate. It can take on Water-types such as Tapu Fini, switch into Ground-type attacks, and function under Trick Room. In return, Mega Camerupt can freely switch into a Fire-type attack.

Moves Heat Wave is Mega Camerupt's main STAB attack, which, when boosted by Sheer Force, deals massive spread damage to both foes. Earth Power is also boosted by Sheer Force and has good coverage with Heat Wave. Substitute can be used to take advantage of free turns gained by foes trying to stall out Trick Room and the occasional switch-in. Alternatively, Nature Power turns into a Sheer Force-boosted coverage move depending on the active Terrain. The most helpful options are Energy Ball, from Grassy Terrain, and Moonblast, from Misty Terrain, which help Mega Camerupt deal with Tapu Fini and Zygarde, respectively, which would otherwise give it trouble. Protect scouts for the foe's move, lets an ally deal with threats or set Trick Room, and stalls out field effects. Set Details Maximum Special Attack investment is encouraged so Mega Camerupt can hit as hard as possible. The investment in bulk lets Mega Camerupt take an Earthquake from Adamant Landorus-T after the spread reduction. 0 IVs and a Quiet nature minimize Mega Camerupt's Speed, allowing it to underspeed everything in Trick Room, including Amoonguss. Solid Rock is the best ability before Mega Evolution, letting Camerupt take less damage from super effective hits on the switch. Usage Tips Using Trick Room is a near-requirement for Mega Camerupt, as its bulk is very valuable and it will put more pressure on the opposing team with Trick Room active. If Trick Room isn't up, the safest way you can ensure it is set safely is to use Protect and let Mega Camerupt's ally set it up. Once Mega Camerupt is in play, the goal is typically to use Heat Wave as many times as possible before Mega Camerupt is forced out, as Sheer Force-boosted Heat Wave takes large chunks of HP out of both opposing Pokemon, assuming they do not resist it. Mega Camerupt forces a lot of switches; your opponent will likely switch in a bulky Water-type if they have the opportunity to, and if they're expecting you to use Earth Power, they will probably consider switching in a Flying-type or a Pokemon with Levitate. Substitute is best used when Mega Camerupt forces a switch and on the last turn of Trick Room, when foes are more likely to use Protect to stall it out, thus reducing their reliance on prediction. For sets using Nature Power, you're most likely to get value out of Grassy and Electric Terrain, as these allow you to counter opposing Water-types. Try to keep Tapu Bulu or Tapu Koko in the back so you can switch them in once a bulky Water-type like Tapu Fini is on the field. Team Options Trick Room setters are necessary for Mega Camerupt to take advantage of its low Speed. Having a bulky option like Bronzong, Porygon2, or Cresselia as an ally is crucial, since the priority of Mega Camerupt teams is getting Trick Room set regardless of the opponent's attempts to stop it, and Mega Camerupt is absolute deadweight if Trick Room can't be set. Pokemon that struggle with Steel-types such as Tapu Bulu and Diancie benefit from Mega Camerupt's presence. Tapu Bulu is the ideal Island Guardian for Mega Camerupt's team because it forces out Water-types and summons Grassy Terrain, which converts Nature Power to Energy Ball, halves Earthquake damage, and provides recovery that is especially useful to Substitute variants of Mega Camerupt. Tapu Fini is also a worthwhile partner that can provide Heal Pulse recovery and extra defense against Amoonguss's Spore. An Amoonguss of your own is able to redirect Scald or Waterfall for Mega Camerupt and threaten the opposing team with Spore.

戰術分析
Moves Stealth Rock is essential for every competitive team, and Camerupt can provide it thanks to its typing that allows it to beat Pokemon such as Weezing and Rotom, to which nearly every Stealth Rock user in the tier loses. Lava Plume is the main STAB move on this set thanks to its chance to burn foes, which is more useful on a defensive set, potentially allowing Camerupt to cripple Thick Fat Hariyama and bulky Rock-type switch-ins such as Rhydon. It also helps prevent Xatu from trying to bounce back Stealth Rock with Magic Bounce, as a burn drastically decreases its longevity. Earthquake hits Pokemon that resist Fire such as Lanturn and bulky Rock-types. Earthquake is preferred over Earth Power because Camerupt will often be taking on Magmortar, which takes much more damage from physical attacks. Toxic and Will-O-Wisp are both useful for wearing down bulkier switch-ins. Toxic is preferred because it wears down Mantine and Pelipper more quickly while also not being completely useless against Charizard. It is also useful for crippling Calm Mind Musharna, even though it comes at the cost of poisoning Camerupt too. Will-O-Wisp is still useful if crippling Thick Fat Hariyama and Rhydon is more important for your team. Rock Slide can have use in the last slot if your team is very weak to Charizard, as it allows Camerupt to defeat it with much more ease. Finally, Protect is helpful for letting Camerupt gain additional recovery through Leftovers, as well as scouting choiced locked Pokemon such as Mesprit, Pyroar, and Primeape. Set Details Maximum special bulk alongside a Calm nature is necessary so that Camerupt can tank hits from the likes of Rotom, Mismagius, Magmortar, and other special attackers and set up Stealth Rock or retaliate appropriately. Leftovers is important so that Camerupt doesn't get worn down too quickly over the course of the match. Solid Rock allows Camerupt to take various super effective hits, such as non-STAB Earthquake from the likes of Tauros and Archeops, and potentially set up Stealth Rock or put the foe in range of a revenge killer. An offensive Stealth Rock set with an EV spread of 140 HP / 252 SpA / 116 Spe is viable if you specifically need both Stealth Rock and Camerupt's wallbreaking ability. In this case, Hidden Power Electric is preferred in the last slot, as it does heavy damage to Mantine and Pelipper and can deter them from trying to come in immediately to Defog away Stealth Rock. Usage Tips Use Camerupt's ability to come in on Rotom, Weezing, Mismagius, Garbodor, and bulky Grass-types to set up Stealth Rock. Using status moves on predicted Mantine and Pelipper switch-ins is often very beneficial, as it will be difficult for them to continuously use Defog over the course of the match. Likewise, if you have Will-O-Wisp on Camerupt, it can be very useful for your team to opt for this move on the switch to cripple an incoming Thick Fat Hariyama or Rhydon. Although defensive Camerupt does not hit very hard, it can also be more beneficial for your team to fish for Lava Plume burns or hit Lanturn switch-ins with Camerupt's Earthquake, depending on the circumstance. Team Options Camerupt pairs well with sweepers that dislike Rotom's presence in general, as a large draw to using Stealth Rock Camerupt is because it is one of few Stealth Rock setters in the tier that don't lose to Rotom. Barbaracle in particular likes Camerupt as a partner, as Stealth Rock helps Barbaracle clean, and Camerupt helps Barbaracle deal with Rotom and Gourgeist-XL, with the former giving it a very difficult time in the early- and mid-game and the latter being a hard counter. Scyther also appreciates defensive Camerupt, as its bulk allows it to stay around longer to come in on Scyther's checks and counters. Fighting-types such as Primeape and Hitmonchan pair well with Camerupt, as it beats a lot of their checks one-on-one, including Rotom, Gourgeist, Weezing, and Garbodor, and provides Stealth Rock, which helps them break past their counters. Xatu must also risk taking a Lava Plume burn and damage if it wants to try to reflect Stealth Rock with Magic Bounce, meaning it won't be able to check Fighting-types for the opposing team. Strong checks to Water-types are necessary on the same team thanks to Camerupt's weakness to them.

Moves Fire Blast is a powerful STAB move that at least 2HKOes pretty much everything that doesn't resist it. Earth Power is a great secondary STAB move that hits bulky Rock-types such as Rhydon and Regirock, other Fire-types such as Magmortar and Ninetales, and Lanturn super effectively while hitting other Water-types hard. Lava Plume is the most spammable move on the set in part because of its perfect accuracy, which can be useful when Camerupt doesn't need Fire Blast's power, as well as its chance to burn foes, which can cripple certain counters. Hidden Power Electric 2HKOes Mantine, which otherwise hard counters Camerupt. It also deals with Charizard, which resists Camerupt's STAB moves. Set Details Choice Specs, a Modest nature, and 252 Special Attack EVs allow Camerupt to hit as hard as possible. The Speed EVs allow Camerupt to outspeed Gourgeist-XL. It also ensures that Camerupt will be able to outspeed uninvested base 50 Speed Pokemon even if they run some Speed creep EVs. The rest of the EVs go into HP to help it tank various attacks. Solid Rock allows Camerupt to survive various super effective attacks, such as Earthquake, that would otherwise OHKO it. Usage Tips Bulky Rotom, Weezing, and Garbodor are all common threats that Camerupt can easily switch in on. Don't be afraid to double switch to punish these Pokemon for switching in. Utilizing slow Volt Switch and U-turn users can also be effective in bringing Camerupt onto the field safely. Once Camerupt hits the field, proceed to annihilate the opposing team by clicking the appropriate coverage move. Lava Plume is generally the safest play to make, such as when the opponent has Hariyama or has absolutely nothing to take Camerupt's attacks. It is also useful for scouting switch-ins and burning counters. Use Earth Power when you predict your opponent to go into Lanturn or a bulky Rock-type, but be mindful that being Choice locked into the move can be risky due to it not hitting Levitate users and Flying-types. When it looks like your opponent's best switch-in to Camerupt is a bulky Pokemon that doesn't resist Fire such as Musharna or Audino, use Fire Blast. Use Hidden Power Electric to catch Mantine on the switch, but beware that Camerupt becomes very exploitable if it locks itself into the move. Team Options Scyther can get Camerupt into the battle easily thanks to U-turn. Camerupt also has a very good matchup against most Scyther checks, which include Steelix, Rotom, Weezing, Garbodor, and Rhydon. Bulky Grass-types such Vileplume and Ferroseed deal with Water-types that threaten Camerupt, a lot of which, such as Samurott, Kabutops, and Barbaracle can freely set up on Camerupt locked into a Fire-type move. Electric-types such as Lanturn and Rotom can help Camerupt deal with Mantine. They can also use Volt Switch to get Camerupt onto the field. On the flip side, pairing Camerupt with late-game cleaners in general is beneficial to take advantage of the mess that Camerupt makes of the opposing team. Both Mixed and Swords Dance Shiftry, two notable sets capable of cleaning late-game, work well with Camerupt. Mixed Shiftry helps with wearing down Hariyama and Sliggoo, while Swords Dance Shiftry appreciates Camerupt's ability to switch into and destroy Weezing. Likewise, Pokemon such as Swords Dance Samurott and other sweepers that are walled by Mantine and Pelipper appreciate Camerupt's ability to lure them in and weaken them with Hidden Power Electric.

Moves Eruption acts as a nuke, OHKOing or 2HKOing most of the tier including many Fire-resistant Pokemon such as Lumineon. Fire Blast is a secondary STAB attack for when Camerupt is too low on health for Eruption to be worth using. Earth Power acts as a secondary STAB attack to hit the few foes that can survive multiple Eruptions like Ninetales and Golem. Hidden Power Ice allows Camerupt to OHKO Altaria, Vibrava, and Gabite, but Hidden Power Electric is an option to OHKO Pelipper. Set Details Maximum Special Attack EVs, a Modest nature, and Choice Specs allow Camerupt to hit as hard as possible, while maximum Speed investment lets Camerupt outspeed everything up to Vibrava. Solid Rock helps to take less damage from the few super effective hits Camerupt can survive, such as Scald from Chinchou or Lumineon without Stealth Rock damage. A slightly bulkier spread with 164 Speed and 88 HP EVs can be used to survive the aforementioned Scalds after Stealth Rock as well as a single Leaf Blade from Choice Band Leafeon while losing out on very few things other than Vibrava. A Timid nature can also be used to beat out neutral-natured Golem and Marowak, but at the cost of significant firepower. Usage Tips Camerupt should be brought in as frequently as possible early-game to break down the opposing team for its teammates to clean late-game. Camerupt pivots into defensive Pokemon lacking attacks that can do significant chip damage and weaken Eruption, so try double switching into Pokemon like Muk and defensive Mawile. Try to avoid switching into everything but weak defensive Pokemon like Vullaby, as taking damage early on can make Eruption a much less effective wallbreaking tool. Camerupt can beat some offensive Pokemon such as Zebstrika or Rapidash one-on-one, but doing so can leave it weakened and unable to take advantage of Eruption, so avoid doing this if Camerupt's wallbreaking is still necessary. If Camerupt is not facing a Flash Fire Pokemon like Ninetales, predictions are often unnecessary, as Eruption can 2HKO most of the tier. However, it is occasionally useful to catch Camerupt's few switch-ins with Hidden Power Ice or Earth Power. Once Camerupt has done its job wallbreaking, it can be used as death fodder unless specifically needed for something such as walling Zebstrika. It has very little late-game use due to its poor Speed and defenses. Team Options Healing Wish support from Mr. Mime or Clefairy can be useful for getting Camerupt's health back up to be able to use Eruption effectively again. Stealth Rock support from Prinplup or Mawile helps Camerupt change some rolls into 2HKOs and keep pressure on Altaria. Entry hazard removers such as Swanna are also useful for keeping Camerupt at a high enough percentage to use Eruption most effectively. Sticky Web support helps patch up Camerupt's Speed by beating out everything up to Adamant Stoutland. Timid Camerupt can also beat Jolly Monferno and Gabite with Sticky Web up. Special sweepers like Regice and Floatzel benefit immensely from Camerupt's strong special wallbreaking. Pivots such as Pelipper and Mawile can be useful for getting Camerupt on the field more safely, and the former also provides entry hazard removal. Monferno is a good offensive partner, as the pair can wear down Water-types and Grumpig while shutting down Rotom-F, although the two Fire-types stack weaknesses. Misdreavus is another good offensive partner that can check Ground- and Water-types for Camerupt as well as functioning well on Sticky Web teams. Water-immune Pokemon such as Lumineon and Politoed are useful to check Pokemon like Floatzel that can force Camerupt out, as well as baiting in many passive Pokemon that Camerupt can take advantage of like Clefairy. Stoutland checks and other physically defensive Pokemon such as Mawile are also useful, as many physical wallbreakers can OHKO Camerupt without super effective moves.

Moves Camerupt can use its free turns from checking Electric-types to set up Stealth Rock to cripple opposing teams. Fire Blast is Camerupt's preferred Fire-type attack, as it hits fairly hard even without investment, but Lava Plume can be used for better accuracy and an increased chance to burn. Earth Power provides excellent neutral coverage versus Pokemon that resist Fire such as Gabite and Simipour. Protect is helpful to give Camerupt extra Leftovers recovery and scout moves for Choice sets, but Toxic is a viable alternative to cripple bulkier foes such as Audino. Roar can also be used to phaze setup sweepers such as Clefairy and Huntail as well as rack up extra chip damage. Set Details Solid Rock helps Camerupt take slightly reduced damage from super effective hits, although most strong super effective attacks will still OHKO regardless; nevertheless, it can help Camerupt take weaker attacks such as Stunfisk's Earth Power better. A specially defensive EV spread is used to better take on Rotom-F, although the HP investment is slightly reduced to take less damage from Stealth Rock. Usage Tips Camerupt should be used to block Volt Switches and take on opposing Electric-types and should be kept healthy as long as opponents still have an Electric-type to prevent them from gaining free momentum. However, be wary of Life Orb Rotom-F and Surf Raichu, which are still capable of breaking through Camerupt. Set up Stealth Rock as early as possible to wear down foes quickly. Avoid taking physical hits as much as possible, as Camerupt is very frail and takes significant damage from every physical attacker in the tier. Protect can be used for additional Leftovers recovery, but avoid overusing it, as it provides opponents a free turn to set up or switch. Team Options Camerupt supports Pokemon weak to Electric that give the opponent free opportunities to use Volt Switch such as Vullaby and Politoed. It also helps wallbreakers such as Stoutland and Dodrio by providing Stealth Rock support to wear down foes. Water-type switch-ins such as Politoed and Roselia are required thanks to Camerupt's extreme weakness to those attacks, and Ground-type checks such as Leafeon and Tangela can help mitigate Camerupt's other weakness. Pawniard is a good offensive partner, as Camerupt weakens Gabite and Water-types on the switch in and checks Stunfisk, while Pawniard checks Choice item Normal-types for Camerupt.

Moves Fire Blast does tremendous damage against nearly all foes that are weak or neutral to it. It OHKOes Virizion, Mega Glalie, Escavalier, Rotom-C, and Sigilyph, it has a chance to OHKO Scrafty after Stealth Rock damage, and it 2HKOes Aromatisse and most Meloetta sets. Earth Power hits the Fire- and Rock-types that resist Fire Blast super effectively, as well as Electric- and Poison-types. It OHKOes Emboar, Delphox, Houndoom, Choice Band and Rock Polish Rhyperior, Qwilfish, Swords Dance Drapion, and Jolteon, and it 2HKOes Alomomola, Seismitoad, and Jellicent, though Jellicent can use Recover repeatedly to stay ahead of Mega Camerupt's damage output and has a high chance to OHKO Mega Camerupt with Scald after Stealth Rock damage. Stealth Rock provides valuable team support. Toxic cripples many of Mega Camerupt's switch-ins, such as Alomomola, Flygon, and Seismitoad. Hidden Power Ice is a guaranteed OHKO against offensive Flygon and has a good chance to OHKO defensive Flygon after Stealth Rock damage. Flamethrower can be used over Fire Blast for greater accuracy at the cost of power. Will-O-Wisp could also be used to cripple foes, but Toxic is better at wearing down Alomomola and Jellicent. Set Details 176 EVs in Special Attack and a Modest nature allow Mega Camerupt to do massive damage and secure a 2HKO on Alomomola. 84 EVs in Speed allow Mega Camerupt to outspeed uninvested Cofagrigus. On the turn that Camerupt Mega Evolves, it outspeeds uninvested base 50 Speed Pokemon, such as Rhyperior and Registeel. 248 EVs in HP improve Mega Camerupt's overall bulk. Solid Rock on non-Mega-Evolved Camerupt helps it take less damage on a poorly predicted switch in. A more defensive spread of 248 HP / 176 Def / 84 Spe with a Bold nature can be used to check Emboar. Another alternate spread of 248 HP / 176 SpD / 84 Spe can be used to check Houndoom, Delphox, Jolteon, and Rotom-C, though these spreads come at a major loss in power and reduce Mega Camerupt's ability to break through Alomomola, Jellicent, and Mega Audino. Usage Tips Mega Camerupt pressures the opponent into switching, which gives it an opportunity to set up Stealth Rock or hit a foe on the switch. One of the major challenges of Mega Camerupt is knowing when to switch it in. As a result, Mega Camerupt benefits tremendously from good prediction. Predicting Volt Switches from Rotom-C, Magneton, Jolteon, and Eelektross gives you a free switch to Mega Camerupt and nets a free turn if the foe is holding a Choice item. Mega Camerupt is also a good sponge for a predicted Knock Off from Escavalier, Drapion, Sneasel, or Eelektross, as well as a predicted Trick from Rotom-C, Choice Scarf Delphox, or Choice Scarf Meloetta. Thanks to its typing, Mega Camerupt can also switch freely into Will-O-Wisp and Thunder Wave. Toxic should be used when anticipating a Water-type switch-in, such as Alomomola, Seismitoad, or Jellicent, as this will help wear them down throughout the rest of the match. If running Hidden Power Ice, try to hit Flygon on the turn it switches in. Team Options Healing Wish support from Mesprit, Audino, or Musharna helps Mega Camerupt survive longer and punch more holes into the opponent's team. Wish support from Alomomola, Aromatisse, or Audino helps Mega Camerupt last longer on more balanced teams. Mega Camerupt appreciates Heal Bell or Aromatherapy support to prevent it from being worn down by poison damage, so Uxie, Aromatisse, Audino, Vileplume, Togetic, Lanturn, Musharna, Granbull, and Lapras make for good partners. Trick Room turns Mega Camerupt's low Speed into an advantage, so setters such as Aromatisse, Cofagrigus, Musharna, Bronzong, Smeargle, and Uxie synergize well with it. Mega Camerupt appreciates switching in safely, so VoltTurn support from Jolteon, Rotom-C, Magneton, Lanturn, Eelektross, Flygon, Meloetta, and Uxie helps. A good way to mitigate Mega Camerupt's poor Speed is by paralyzing foes, so paralysis spreaders make for effective teammates, such as Qwilfish, Druddigon, Granbull, Uxie, and Jolteon. While Mega Camerupt generally runs Stealth Rock, it appreciates other Stealth Rock setters, such as Uxie, Mesprit, Druddigon, Seismitoad, Bronzong, Omastar, and Smeargle, so that it can run both Toxic and Hidden Power Ice. Spikes support from the likes of Qwilfish, Omastar, Garbodor, Accelgor, and Smeargle can help Mega Camerupt more easily OHKO or 2HKO foes. Qwilfish and Garbodor are also helpful for absorbing Toxic Spikes, which would otherwise wear Mega Camerupt down. Bulky Water-types, particularly those with Water Absorb or Storm Drain, help to patch up Mega Camerupt's weakness to Water-type attacks, so Seismitoad, Lapras, Mantine, Alomomola, Lanturn, Pelipper, and Qwilfish are great options that appreciate Mega Camerupt's ability to check Grass-types. Defog and Rapid Spin support prevents Mega Camerupt from being worn down as easily, so Flygon, Togetic, Shiftry, Hitmonlee, and Kabutops make for good partners. Electric-types such as Jolteon, Eelektross, Magneton, and Rotom-C pair well with Mega Camerupt for their ability to check Water- and Flying-types. Eelektross and Rotom-C synergize particularly well with Mega Camerupt because of their immunity to Ground-type attacks. Grass-types such as Shiftry, Vileplume, and Virizion also help against Water-types, as well as Ground-types. Mega Camerupt's offensive prowess is appreciated by late-game cleaners such as Sneasel, Hitmonlee, Fletchinder, and Medicham because it allows them to sweep more easily.

Moves Fire Blast is a very powerful STAB attack, and its power is further boosted by Sheer Force. Earth Power is a secondary STAB attack with great coverage alongside Fire Blast and decent power, and is also boosted by Sheer Force. Ancient Power is boosted by Sheer Force and hits Flying-types for super effective damage, most notably Mega Aerodactyl and Crobat. Hidden Power Grass can be used in the fourth slot to catch Swampert, Quagsire, and Gastrodon on the switch. Alternatively, Will-O-Wisp can cripple physical attackers by halving their Attack stat. Set Details Solid Rock, Camerupt's ability before Mega Evolving, helps it take super effective hits better if an opponent predicts the switch. Sheer Force, Mega Camerupt's ability, gives a great power boost to Camerupt's attacks with a secondary effect. Cameruptite allows Camerupt to Mega Evolve into Mega Camerupt. Max HP and Special Attack investment help Mega Camerupt take hits better and hit as hard as possible. A Modest nature gives another boost to Camerupt's great Special Attack. If Camerupt is used on a Trick Room team, make sure to use a Quiet nature. Usage Tips This Camerupt fits best on bulky offense teams because of its ability to take hits and hit opponents back quite hard with a STAB attack. Make sure to Mega Evolve as soon as possible, because Mega Camerupt will get a huge boost in its offensive stats as well as its defensive stats. Try to predict when an opposing check or counter might come in; for example, if you predict a Swampert to come in, make sure to go for Hidden Power Grass or Will-O-Wisp, instead of hitting it with Fire Blast. Switch out of threatening Water-types, because their STAB attacks will most likely OHKO Mega Camerupt. Ground-types are threatening too as they outspeed and beat Camerupt with a STAB attack. Mega Camerupt can switch into predicted Volt Switches and other Electric-type moves to force opposing Pokemon to switch out in most situations and get off a lot of damage on the opponent's next switch-in. Bringing Mega Camerupt in with a slow U-turn or Volt Switch is good, too, as it cannot recover any damage taken by switching in normally without healing support. Team Options Trick Room support from Pokemon such as Porygon2 and Cofagrigus is especially great, because then Mega Camerupt will usually move first. Pokemon that can switch into Water-types for Camerupt and beat them, such as Roserade and Shaymin, make for good partners. Pokemon that can reliably beat Ground-types that threaten Camerupt, such as Chesnaught and Suicune, are excellent teammates as well. Wish support from Pokemon such as Blissey and Florges is really good for Camerupt, as it lacks its own form of reliable recovery. Entry hazard support from Pokemon such as Nidoqueen and Forretress is nice, too, as this will give Mega Camerupt an easier time wallbreaking. Furthermore, Pokemon that can remove entry hazards such as Crobat and Tentacruel are good partners, as Mega Camerupt cannot recover from chip damage taken. Slow U-turn or Volt Switch users such as Forretress are great for Mega Camerupt because it cannot recover damage taken while switching in. Lastly, special attackers that appreciate Mega Camerupt plowing through their checks and counters, such as Celebi and Sylveon, are good partners.

Moves Heat Wave and Earth Power are Mega Camerupt's STAB attacks and are used for max damage. Hidden Power Ice hits Dragon-types immune to Earth Power such as Hydreigon, Latios, and Salamence. Ancient Power is for special Rock coverage and pairs well with Sheer Force, hitting Fire-types immune to Earth Power such as Rotom-H and Charizard. Protect lets Mega Camerupt scout the foe's moves. Set Details 252 Special Attack EVs let Mega Camerupt hit as hard as possible, while 252 EVs in HP maximize Mega Camerupt's bulk. You may opt for 76 EVs in Defense which allow Mega Camerupt to survive Adamant Mega Kangaskhan's Double-Edge 95% of the time. 0 Speed IVs let Mega Camerupt sweep in Trick Room. Usage Tips Always use Mega Camerupt in Trick Room, as the chances of non-Mega Camerupt attacking outside of it is much lower due to fact that most people double target it. Trick Room has only four turns after it is used, so don't waste them. Use the four turns to make aggressive plays. Never switch Mega Camerupt in directly unless you are confident that it can take little to no damage. Team Options Don't consider using Mega Camerupt without Trick Room. Viable Trick Room users, such as Cresselia and Gothitelle, can also set up Sunny Day for Mega Camerupt, making its Fire-type moves stronger. Jellicent has great type synergy with Mega Camerupt. Despite Mega Camerupt's power, it is unable to KO Pokemon such as Aegislash in its Shield forme and requires Helping Hand to make sure it KOes Pokemon neutral to Mega Camerupt's attacks. Pokemon able to redirect attacks such as Amoonguss, which has access to Rage Powder, a resistance to Water-type attacks, and the ability to hit Water-types with Giga Drain, are good partners for Mega Camerupt. Follow Me Clefable, Clefairy, and Togekiss can also redirect dangerous moves. Storm Drain Gastrodon and Cradily redirect Water-type moves for Mega Camerupt. Grass-type Pokemon that take on Water-types one-on-one help Mega Camerupt to defend against Water-types, such as Amoonguss and Ferrothorn. Pokemon that can KO Dragon-, Water-, and Levitating Fire-types such as Sylveon, Ferrothorn, and Tyranitar, respectively, help Mega Camerupt a lot.

Moves Lava Plume is Camerupt's preferred Fire-type move because its high burn chance can compensate for Camerupt's middling Defense. Roar allows Camerupt to deter setup and rack up entry hazard damage. Set Details A specially defensive EV spread is used to more reliably check threats such as Serperior, Eelektross, and Rotom-F. With maximum investment, Camerupt notably avoids a 2HKO from Rotom-F's Blizzard. Solid Rock can allow Camerupt to take a weak Earthquake or Scald in a pinch. Team Options Camerupt finds its home on bulky offense and balance teams by setting Stealth Rock and checking many common threats, namely Rotom-F. Camerupt heavily appreciates partners that can deal with Water- and Ground-types. Serperior is stellar with its Water resistance and Grass-type STAB attacks, which deal with the likes of Samurott, Seismitoad, and Golurk. Roselia has a resistance to Water while also boasting Spikes, creating a good hazard-stacking core. Alomomola is yet another great check to Water- and Ground-types and boasts major utility with its massive Wish. In return, Camerupt provides a capable pivot into the Electric-types that threaten these teammates, namely Rotom-S and Eelektross. Ghost-types such as Misdreavus and Haunter can reliably block Rapid Spin, keeping Camerupt's Stealth Rock up throughout the course of a match, while also being immune to Ground-type attacks.

Camerupt's main move on this set is Eruption. Boasting a massive 150 Base Power not including STAB, Eruption OHKOes almost any Pokemon that doesn't resist it, and with the boost from Fire Gem, few threats will be able to soak it up. The other main STAB move is Earth Power; it lacks the raw power of Eruption but it can get rid of Heatran, Chandelure, and other Fire- or Rock-types in Camerupt's way. Hidden Power Ice allows Camerupt to counter Salamence, non-Yache Berry Garchomp, and Hydreigon. Heat Wave is also highly recommended as it is a nice backup STAB, however, in case Camerupt has already taken large damage. Protect needs no explanation; Camerupt is pretty frail and it needs a move to stick around while allowing its partner to take out a threat. Solid Rock is the chosen ability because having a little extra resistance to Earthquakes is always appreciated, but note that almost any Water-type move will end Camerupt right there and then. The EV spread maximizes Camerupt's HP and Special Attack, giving it optimum bulk and firepower. Camerupt works better as a third or fourth choice than as a lead; without the absolutely necessary Trick Room, it's far too slow to ever use Eruption. Bread-and-butter Trick Room leads such as Cresselia, Musharna, and Bronzong can set up the said move, and are also bulky enough to help Camerupt when it switches in. Outside of the mentioned Pokemon, however, the best partner for Camerupt is probably Gastrodon. Gastrodon draws Water-type attacks such as Surf and Water Spout away from Camerupt, putting a major monkey wrench in the opponent's plans, and also makes Ground-type moves Camerupt's only weakness. Anything that can counter a rain team, such as Tyranitar or Hippowdon, also helps out tremendously. Camerupt works well in a sun team as its Eruption can become even more powerful, but this is difficult because it absolutely needs a Trick Room supporter.

Moves Camerupt is reliable Stealth Rock user, as it can easily set it up on most foes and threatens common Rapid Spinners such as Forretress. Despite Starmie easily being able to switch in and use Rapid Spin, it cannot do so without Camerupt threatening it to OHKO it with Explosion. Camerupt is additionally an excellent user of Explosion, as it naturally threatens Steel-types and Rock-types, while Camerupt completely walls defensive Rotom-A with Thunderbolt and can 2HKO Gengar. Explosion also helps keep momentum and prevent dangerous foes such as Gyarados and Dragonite from setting up on it. Lava Plume is the best option against defensive Jirachi and spreads burns. Lava Plume burns help Camerupt prevent set-up without sacrificing itself, as offensive teams hate dealing with burns and Jirachi can no heal off Camerupt’s attacks if it’s burned. Earthquake rounds out Camerupt’s coverage, OHKOing Heatran, 2HKOing Tyranitar, most Steel-types, and 3HKOing Clefable. Having STAB boosted physical and special moves helps Camerupt threaten every Steel-type in the tier. Set Details Camerupt’s lopsided stat distribution and Solid Rock reward heavy bulk investment, as it doesn’t need much offensive investment to remain a threat. However, with maximum HP and 176 Special Defense EVs with a Sassy nature, Camerupt can survive up to defensive Starmie’s Surf from full health. As Camerupt’s typing is neutral to common options Electric-types use against Ground-types, such as Zapdos’s Hidden Power Flying, Hidden Power Ice, and Hidden Power Grass and Rotom-A’s Shadow Ball, a specially defensive slant is preferred. The Defense EVs allow Camerupt to survive mixed Flygon’s Earthquake, while the remaining EVs are put into Attack to power up Explosion and Earthquake. Camerupt is already slower than almost everything, so using a Sassy nature allows it’s offenses to stay in tact. Camerupt can more heavily focus on its offenses as well to hit harder, or even invest heavily in Speed to outspeed slower Pokemon such as Skarmory. However, these choices generally are not as effective in fulfilling its niche as a Stealth Rock user, as Camerupt is very frail without investment. Usage Tips Camerupt should switch in early and get Stealth Rock up. From here, figure out how important Camerupt is against what the opponent is using. Most commonly, Camerupt uses Explosion shortly afterward to open up a wall and let a teammate in for free. If Camerupt’s prowess against defensive Steel-types and offensive Electric-types is valuable, it’s wise to not immediately use Explosion. However, Camerupt can often KO Pokemon such as Starmie, Clefable, and Zapdos with a surprise Explosion, so it can be an effective lure. Latias and Clefable especially often switch into Camerupt on more defensive teams due to ability to spread burns. Do not underestimate Camerupt’s ability to pull off an Explosion, as with bulk and Solid Rock, it’ll typically live most non Water-type attacks from full health. Using Explosion on Starmie trying to keep Stealth Rock off or Flygon trying to force it out is hugely valuable. Team Options Camerupt mainly fits on very aggressive hyper offense builds as an early game Stealth Rock user and Electric immunity. It is typically used alongside leads that cannot get Stealth Rock up and have good synergy with it so it gets in early in the game. Some examples include Breloom, Gallade, Machamp, Dragonite, and Gyarados. These Pokemon can potentially lure in Skarmory, giving Camerupt a switch-in to set up Stealth Rock. Choice Scarf Breloom is a particularly good choice, as it can prevent opposing set-up with a fast Spore and the sleeping foe gives Camerupt a free switch. Otherwise, very offensive teammates fit well with it. One of the best partners for it offensive Calm Mind Jirachi, as Camerupt can often bait in and use Explosion on Clefable and Latias, opening it up to sweep. Camerupt can also use Explosion on Ground-types such as Gliscor and Flygon that think they can OHKO it but cannot, preventing them from revenge killing Jirachi. Swords Dance Scizor is another excellent partner, as it can potentially remove Latias with Pursuit and can help out against Dragon Dance boosted foes, such as Tyranitar and Dragonite, that can OHKO Camerupt with a boosted Earthquake. Dragon Dance Gyarados and both mixed and Dragon Dance Dragonite outside of the lead position are also great, as they resist all of its weaknesses and can potentially open up walls. Other offensive teammates such as Agility Empoleon, Swords Dance Lucario, and Rock Polish Metagross are all effective teammates. All of these Pokemon can be revenge killed by Choice Scarf Rotom-A using Thunderbolt, giving Camerupt a free switch-in.

This set aims to help Camerupt solve its Speed issues through the use of Rock Polish, which doubles it to respectable levels. Though this set may seem outclassed by Agility Blaziken, who has a higher Speed stat to work with and can split offensive EVs to cover more threats, Camerupt has a wonderful Electric-type immunity, and by extension, an immunity to Thunder Wave, which gets it some setup opportunities that Blaziken would not, as well as access to Explosion to make sure nothing is ever safe switching into it. Rock Polish is the crux of the set as it doubles Camerupt's otherwise horrific Speed stat, allowing it to outspeed the majority of UU. Fire Blast is Camerupt's most powerful attack on the special side, and it deals massive damage to anything that doesn't resist it, bar Chansey, and also hits Registeel, another prominent special wall in UU, super effectively. Earth Power is a strong secondary STAB that deals with opposing Rock- and Fire-types that resist Fire Blast, while also hitting Water-types for neutral damage. Explosion is recommended for the final slot as without it, Chansey completely and utterly walls Camerupt. However, by running Stone Edge, Camerupt will have less trouble against Moltres and Altaria. The choice all comes down to what your team can deal with better. 216 Speed EVs are used in order to outspeed everything up to positive-natured base 105s after a Rock Polish. After that, Special Attack is maximized so that Camerupt can deal as much damage as possible with his STAB attacks. The remaining EVs go into Attack for an added oomph on Explosion. Maximizing Speed is an option to outspeed Swellow after a Rock Polish, but then Camerupt will lose the guaranteed OHKO on Milotic with Explosion. A Rash nature is preferred in order to take priority attacks, which are mostly physical, more easily, but Mild may be used to take advantage of Camerupt's slightly higher defensive stat. Depending on the final moveslot, Pokemon that either benefit from the removal of bulky Water-types or check them effectively make great partners to Camerupt. Water- and Grass-types in general fit these roles perfectly, and also synergise very well with Camerupt. Stealth Rock supporters and Pokemon that can check the stronger priority users of UU make great partners for this set. Uxie is a fine example of such a Pokemon, and can also come in for free on Ground-type attacks that threaten Camerupt.

Camerupt is the only Fire-type in UU that can effectively abuse Trick Room, thanks to its impressive mixed attacking stats, wide movepool, and most importantly, its low Speed. With minimum Speed, Camerupt will move before even base 30s that run hindering natures under Trick Room. This information becomes especially useful when the nearest viable competitor Camerupt has is Blaziken, who sits at base 80, and so can't even go lower than the many UU Pokemon that lurk around the base 55 range. With Camerupt's Speed issues solved, his offensive prowess skyrockets, and it becomes very dangerous. Fire Blast and Earth Power are Camerupt's most effective and stable STAB options, and together are only resisted in standard UU by Altaria and Moltres, both of which are KOed by Stone Edge with Stealth Rock support. Hidden Power Ice and Rock Slide may be used over Stone Edge if the accuracy is an issue for you, but the former will be useless against Moltres while the latter has much less power. With Explosion, Camerupt becomes an excellent lure for bulky Water-types, as it can OHKO even the bulkiest of them with it. Earthquake is a very practical replacement though, 2HKOing many of the special walls in the tier, including Chansey, without the need to sacrifice Camerupt. However, without Explosion, Camerupt is effectively walled by the aforementioned bulky Water-types and will need proper team support to deal with them. Since Camerupt does not have to worry about its Speed on this set, both attacking stats are maximized to give Camerupt the muscle to obtain many important KOs, with the remaining EVs going into HP. Attack EVs can be siphoned into HP for some added bulk, but this is not advisable as Camerupt really doesn't have that much natural bulk to play with, and would rather have those EVs added to his strong points. Reliable users of Trick Room are important teammates for this Camerupt to excel. Slowbro is able to set it up reliably, and also has decent synergy with Camerupt, capable of switching in on the Water-type moves that plague him, while it can come in for free on Electric-type attacks aimed at Slowbro. Other than that, the usual other Trick Room supporters such as Uxie and Mesprit work just fine. Stealth Rock is very useful for Camerupt, guaranteeing OHKOs on such Pokemon as 252/0 Donphan and 4/0 Mismagius with Fire Blast, as well as 252/216+ Altaria with Hidden Power Ice or Stone Edge. Unfortunately, reliable users of Stealth Rock that also pair up well with Camerupt are hard to find, as many of them share similar typings, and thus, common weaknesses. Torterra works well though, as its part Grass typing complements Camerupt's Fire typing nicely. Depending on the choice for the final moveslot, Pokemon that benefit from the removal of bulky Water-types (such as Rhyperior), or those who can check them (such as Ampharos) also pair up well with Camerupt. Water- and Grass-types in general can perform these roles admirably, and synergise nicely with Camerupt as well.

戰術分析
While a specially-based Camerupt is much less affected by common factors such as Intimidate, physically-based Camerupt has a number of advantages to its name as well, such as a stronger Explosion and less trouble dealing with Altaria, Clefable, and Chansey. Camerupt still has perks over Blaziken in its Electric-type immunity and access to Explosion, but it is recommended to choose which offensive side to base Camerupt on, which depends on what Pokemon can better deal with these walls. Once again, Rock Polish is the basis of the set, allowing Camerupt to outspeed much of UU after a single turn of setup. Earthquake is the main STAB move here, packing quite the punch with the investment, 2HKOing most of the special walls in the tier, most notably Chansey, while STAB Fire Blast covers many of the Pokemon that give other physical Speed boosters trouble, namely Leafeon, Steelix, and Tangrowth. Explosion is recommended in the final slot to separate Camerupt from Blaziken by giving him a way to deal with Water-types, of which even the bulkiest are KOed, but Stone Edge may be used to hit Altaria and Moltres without having to resign Camerupt for the rest of the match. The likeness of the EVs to the special Rock Polish set is not very surprising seeing as how both are attempting to boost their Speed and then sweep. The EVs maximize Attack, and provide sufficient Speed for Camerupt to outspeed positive-natured base 105s after a Rock Polish. The rest go into Special Attack for added power on Fire Blast, increasing the chance of outright OHKOing common physically defensive Grass- and Steel-types. A Naughty nature is preferred, as priority will otherwise be a tremendous hindrance to Camerupt's sweep, but Lonely may be used so as not to lower Camerupt's higher defensive stat. Camerupt's perfect partners always stay the same. Depending on the final moveslot, Pokemon that either benefit from the removal of bulky Water-types or can check them well make great partners to Camerupt. Water- and Grass-types in general are able to fulfill these roles quite well, and also synergise very well with Camerupt. Stealth Rock supporters and Pokemon that can check the stronger priority users such as Uxie are great teammates, especially if they are immune to or resist Ground.

This is basically a weaker but less prediction-reliant version of the Choice Band set; it sacrifices power for ease of use and ability to switch in. The first move Camerupt should use when it comes in is Toxic, as this cripples its most common counters, namely Water-types and Salamence. Additionally, with the looming threat of Fire Blast and Earthquake, opponents typically won't risk switching in a Steel-type. Afterwards, Toxic should be used sparingly unless their originally poisoned Pokemon can no longer switch in. Explosion gives Camerupt the ability to completely wreck another opponent. The EVs go for a mix of bulk and power.

戰術分析
With its unique Fire / Ground typing, Camerupt walls Electric-types quite effectively. The massive EV investment lets it take a mere 24% - 28% from 252+ Zapdos's Hidden Power Ice or Grass, as well as 23% - 25% from Timid Raikou's Crunch, making Camerupt one of the best Calm Mind Raikou counters in the game. Though it is by far the best in this role, Camerupt can do more than wall Electric-types. It switches in on Weezing with relative ease, though Sludge Bomb does take its toll. Support Celebi's Psychic only does 28% - 31%, and Camerupt can retaliate with Fire Blast for 67% - 79%. While Camerupt doesn't exactly wall them, it can beat Jirachi, Jynx, and Alakazam in a pinch: Camerupt is overwhelmingly likely to survive Wish Jirachi's +1 Psychic, and will 2HKO Jirachi 80.7% of the time with Earthquake. Similarly, Jynx and Alakazam miss out on the 2HKO, and are both OHKOed by Earthquake. Rest and Sleep Talk, combined with a sandstorm immunity, give Camerupt some much-needed durability and allows it to completely wall special Gengar. Dual STAB moves are obvious, and the combination is only resisted by Flygon, Salamence, Gyarados, Moltres, and Charizard in OU. You might find that Fire Blast PP is too rapidly depleted by Zapdos, Suicune, and Dusclops, making Flamethrower a suitable replacement.

This set is particularly tailored to the OU environment. Camerupt's low Speed and common weaknesses make it often only able to stay in for one turn, and Choice Band lets Camerupt make the most out of this one turn. A boosted Earthquake will put major dents in bulky Water-types, while its Fire STAB of choice cripples Steel-type physical walls. The third move is largely filler, but can surprise and take out Gyarados and Salamence. Alternatively, Explosion can destroy a key wall and open up a sweep for the likes of SubSD Heracross. The EVs are straightforward: Camerupt needs all the power it can get.

This is basically a diluted, less prediction-based version of the Choice Band set. Power is sacrificed for ease of use and the ability to switch in. The first time Camerupt gets in, the first move it should be using is Toxic. It cripples its most common counters, Water-types, and with Fire Blast and Earthquake looming right overhead, opponents won't take the risk to switch in a Steel-type or something with Natural Cure. Afterwards, Toxic should be withheld unless their originally statused Pokemon can no longer switch in. Explosion gives you the opportunity to wreck another Pokemon on your opponent's team.

戰術分析
Camerupt, with its unique Fire / Ground Typing, walls Electric-Types quite effectively. With the massive EV investment in SpD, even a Zapdos with 383 SpA (the highest of any Electric-Type) only manages to do 24% - 28% with Hidden Power Ice or Grass. Timid Raikou's unboosted Crunch only hits for 23% - 25%, making Camerupt one of the best Calm Mind Raikou counters in the game. Though by far the most effective of its uses, Camerupt's walling potential is not limited to Electric-types. It switches in on Weezing with relative ease, though Sludge Bomb does take its toll. Heal Bell Celebi's Psychic only does 28% - 31%, while Fire Blast hits for 67% - 79%. While Camerupt doesn't exactly wall them, it can be used to beat Jirachi, Jynx, and Alakazam in a pinch. Wish Jirachi has only about a 1% chance of 2HKOing Camerupt with a +1 Psychic, while Camerupt has an 80.7% chance of 2HKOing Jirachi with Earthquake. Jynx and Alakazam miss out on the 2HKO and are both OHKOed by Earthquake. In UU, Camerupt stops, but falls short of beating, the ever popular Hypno + Vileplume combo. Sunny Day + Solar Beam users, barring nasty luck, are shut down, and Victreebel can be walled in a pinch. Ninetales, Manectric, and Electabuzz have no chance of overcoming Camerupt without Hidden Power Water. Rest and Sleep Talk, combined with a sandstorm immunity, gives Camerupt some much needed durability and allows it to completely wall special versions of Gengar. Letting it utilize dual STAB is an obvious choice, with Ground and Fire only being resisted by Flygon, Salamence, Gyarados, Moltres, and Charizard in OU and Mantine, Solrock, and Lunatone in UU. If being used in UU, Fire Blast completely outclasses Flamethrower. However, in OU, you may find your Fire Blast PP getting rapidly depleted by Zapdos, Suicune, and Dusclops, which makes Flamethrower a suitable replacement.

A set tailored to the OU environment, though it also works in UU. Many players will give all of one-turn for Camerupt before it either has to switch out or get killed, and Choice Band lets Camerupt make the most out of it. A boosted Earthquake will put major dents in bulky Water-types, while your Fire-move cripples the other half of physical walls. The third move is really just filler, allowing you to stop Gyarados and Salamence from walking all over you if you have good prediction. And even then you could just unleash an Explosion on them, and perhaps open up a sweep for a SubSD Heracross or the like.
