EV Spreads 252 HP / 252 SpD / 4 Spe with Careful or Sassy: This specially defensive spread is Hisuian Goodra's best shot at avoiding a 2HKO from Timid Choice Specs Flutter Mane's Tera Fairy Moonblast, assuming extra Leftovers recovery from Protect. 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 Spe with Impish or Relaxed: Maximum physical bulk means Hisuian Goodra won't check Flutter Mane nearly as well, but it let will let Body Press become a better sweeping tool. Minor Optimizations Acid Armor: Acid Armor is the best option for boosting Defense due to its higher PP, but it requires Hisuian Sligoo to evolve while knowing the move in either Scarlet or Violet, as it's not able to be relearned by Hisuian Goodra. Shelter is still a viable, albeit strictly inferior, option. Female Gender: While very rare, Heavy Slam being a contact move means Hisuian Goodra does risk of activating Enamorus's Cute Charm, making a female gender a marginally better choice.

Draco Meteor versus Ice Beam: Draco Meteor's power makes switching offensive threats like Urshifu-R into Hisuian Goodra tricky, and it is notable for 2HKOing Dondozo. Ice Beam lets Hisuian Goodra punish important Ground-types. Acid Spray: Acid Spray is a useful wallbreaking tool, capable of making even specially bulky foes like Clodsire risk taking massive damage after the Special Defense drop. Thunderbolt: Thunderbolt is another way to 2HKO physically defensive Dondozo and OHKO offensive Urshifu-R and pairs very well with Ice Beam in terms of coverage. Earthquake: While not particularly strong, Earthquake is highly recommended for 2HKOing Heatran and 3HKOing opposing Assault Vest Hisuian Goodra, as both of these will wall this set otherwise. Flamethrower: For other Steel-types like Gholdengo and Scizor, Flamethrower will deal much more damage than Earthquake. Modest versus Quiet: The importance of mirror matches makes Modest an appealing option for Hisuian Goodra, but Quiet will ensure that all but the bulkiest Flutter Mane will need to Terastallize to avoid an OHKO from Heavy Slam.
