Lilligant is a niche Quiver Dance sweeper that capitalizes on Sleep Powder generating one or two free turns to boost and break through the opposing team. Pollen Puff nails opposing Grass-types such as Appletun, Exeggutor, and Tangela. Life Orb gives Lilligant more firepower, which it desperately needs; however, Leftovers provides Lilligant with passive recovery, which can help it acquire Quiver Dance boosts against more passive foes such as Galarian Stunfisk. While this set isn't intended to take advantage of Chlorophyll, Lilligant provides some counterplay versus opposing sun sweepers, notably Shiftry. Fighting-types such as Sawk and Gurdurr do a fantastic job of scaring out Klinklang, one of Lilligant's biggest checks, and can remove Heavy-Duty Boots from Flying-types such as Articuno and Altaria. Similarly, Ice-types such as Jynx and Froslass force out opposing Flying-types and can help Lilligant chip away at Klinklang and Fire-types like Rapidash and Ninetales. Both examples of offensive partners, however, result in overlapping weaknesses, limiting Lilligant's use to only offensive teams. Entry hazard setters such as Uxie, Qwilfish, and Froslass can provide Lilligant with the necessary chip damage needed to whittle down foes it struggles against. Pokemon such as Silvally-Dark and Choice Scarf Kabutops can also offensively pressure common Defog users for Lilligant.

With this set, Lilligant acts as a setup sweeper thanks to Quiver Dance and Sleep Powder, although its typing doesn't give it a lot of setup opportunities, while its shallow movepool and typing mean that it often finds itself forced out by threats like Incineroar, Alolan Exeggutor, Sigilyph, and Weezing, although they don't appreciate taking a boosted Breakneck Blitz. Decidueye and Dhelmise are especially problematic, as they completely wall it. Moreover, this set is better done by Vivillon, which has a better offensive typing and movepool while still having access to Sleep Powder, letting it bypass checks more reliably.

戰術分析
Moves Leaf Storm is Lilligant's strongest STAB option, and the Special Attack drops are less relevant due to its frailty. Sleep Powder provides Lilligant with a way of shutting down foes by sending them to sleep, although its inaccuracy can be an issue. After You is an excellent tool for speed control, allowing normally slower allies like Torkoal to move after Lilligant. Hidden Power Fire nails the Bug-, Grass-, and Steel-types that resist Leaf Storm and is boosted by the sun. Hitting Grass-types, particularly Kartana, is especially important, since they are unaffected by Sleep Powder. Protect allows Lilligant to shield itself while a partner eliminates a threat or switches; this is valuable given its frailty. Set Details Focus Sash is often the most useful item, given that Lilligant's frailty means that it struggles to survive many turns. Grassium Z is a more offensive alternative that is particularly powerful with Leaf Storm, as there's no stat drop. It also allows the use of Z-Sleep Powder, which raises Lilligant's Speed. This is useful outside of sun. Chlorophyll is the mandatory ability with this set, as Lilligant's Speed is otherwise too low without the sun boost. A 252 SpA / 252 Spe EV spread is fine here, as Lilligant is frail enough that any investment in bulk will likely be wasted. That said, an EV spread of 124 HP / 252 SpA / 132 Spe is an option to outpace the first relevant foe: Choice Scarf Garchomp. Modest is often the better nature, as Lilligant doesn't enjoy giving up any of its already average Special Attack. Usage Tips In general, you shouldn't bother bringing out Lilligant without sun, as it's too slow and frail to function without it. While predictable, just leading Torkoal + Lilligant can often be a good decision, as many teams are unprepared. After which, you'll either want to use Protect on Torkoal for a turn while Lilligant moves, or just do After You + Eruption. Opposing weather can be an issue though. If seen at team preview, bring Lilligant out late-game or not at all. This is so you have more time to wrestle control of the weather with Torkoal before bringing Lilligant out safely. Sleep Powder's undesirable accuracy means that you should avoid relying on it; take alternative plays where possible instead. Team Options Torkoal is essentially mandatory as an ally, since its Drought is the most reliable means of setting sun. Given the above, Trick Room support from teammates such as Oranguru are also likely to join Lilligant's team. Rock-types such as Nihilego and Aerodactyl cover many of Lilligant's weaknesses in Bug, Fire, and Flying. Ground-types such as Mudsdale are likewise a boon, as they cover Fire-, Poison-, and Steel-types for Lilligant. Salamence switches into Fire- and Bug-type moves aimed at Lilligant, and Intimidate allows it to take a hit. Tapu Bulu's Grassy Terrain boosts Bloom Doom and cancels Electric Terrain and Misty Terrain, which stop Sleep Powder.

戰術分析
Moves Leaf Storm is Lilligant's strongest move; its high damage output makes Lilligant an efficient revenge killer. Hidden Power Rock allows Lilligant to KO a bunch of Pokemon that otherwise would wall it completely, like Scyther and Vivillon. Giga Drain is Lilligant's secondary STAB move, making it able to reliably pick off weakened targets without having to fear a miss, as well as increasing Lilligant's longevity. Sleep Powder can be used to avoid getting Pursuit trapped by Skuntank, for example, and is used to create free turns for teammates. Healing Wish gives Lilligant the ability to support the rest of its team by completely healing them up when needed. Since Choice Scarf Lilligant outpaces almost the entire metagame, this can often be a quite reliable backup check to many major threats that may otherwise get out of hand. Petal Dance is an alternative over Giga Drain to give Lilligant the ability to pick between a one-off nuke in Leaf Storm and a strong cleaning move to use when Pokemon that resist Grass have been weakened and Lilligant has a potential chance to sweep late-game. However, it has several drawbacks such as making contact and preventing Lilligant from switching out, which makes it easy to be revenge killed by a majority of Pokemon that can survive multiple Petal Dances, such as Garbodor and Skuntank. When you are running Petal Dance, Own Tempo is the preferred ability to avoid getting confused and to keep spamming Petal Dance without any additional drawbacks. Lastly, Hidden Power Fire can be used over either Giga Drain or Hidden Power Rock to hit common Pokemon that resist Grass like Ferroseed, Vileplume, and other Lilligant. Running Hidden Power Fire does have some drawbacks, however; being outsped by +2 Combusken and Omastar and not being able to revenge kill Vivillon with a Quiver Dance under its belt might be crucial in some matches. Set Details Lilligant, while equipped with a Choice Scarf, is able to outpace the entire unboosted metagame including major threats like Archeops and Tauros. Maximum Speed investment with a Timid nature allows Lilligant to outspeed Vivillon after it gets up a Quiver Dance, as well as various other threats like Swellow and Floatzel, which can otherwise KO it when it is slightly weakened. Maximum Special Attack investment maximizes Lilligant's offensive power, making it a scary threat that is able to revenge kill a bunch of offensive Pokemon when slightly weakened like Floatzel, Archeops, and Swellow, depending on the chosen move. When you run Petal Dance, however, Own Tempo is the preferred ability, as it allows Lilligant to endlessly spam it, not having to fear confusion. Usage Tips Lilligant should mostly be used as a revenge killer, as its already high Speed combined with a Choice Scarf allows it to effectively pick off faster targets such as Archeops, Floatzel, and Tauros when they are weakened slightly. Lilligant should sometimes be wary of using Leaf Storm or Giga Drain, as it allows free setup for Pokemon like Scyther and Vivillon, which both don't take much damage from it but are heavily dented if not OHKOed by Hidden Power Rock. Sleep Powder can be used versus targets that Lilligant can't deal with by using its own attacks, such as Pyroar, Garbodor, and Skuntank. If Lilligant isn't as useful in the match anymore and a weakened teammate needs some support, use Healing Wish. Make sure to carefully think through whether or not Lilligant's high Speed tier is still necessary to secure a victory. Team Options As Lilligant struggles to deal with bulky Poison-types such as Garbodor and Skuntank, Psychic-types like Mesprit and bulky Ground-types like Rhydon and Steelix are great partners for Lilligant; they can handle the majority of checks to Lilligant as well as set up Stealth Rock to heavily dent most Pokemon that resist Grass like Magmortar and Scyther. Setup sweepers such as Samurott and Barbaracle have great synergy with Lilligant, as they can wear down each other's checks quite easily, offer decent synergy, and heavily appreciate the Healing Wish support Lilligant offers. Pokemon that tend to wear themselves down like Zangoose, Guts Swellow, and Abomasnow heavily appreciate Lilligant's ability to support them with Healing Wish. Besides that, they also offer decent synergy type-wise, wearing down each other's checks and counters. All hazard support from Pokemon like Garbodor is also heavily appreciated, as it helps out with weakening some of Lilligant's checks such as Skuntank and Magmortar. Regirock and Rhydon have great type synergy with Lilligant, most importantly being hard checks to Scyther, and can also set up Stealth Rock to help Lilligant wear down bulkier Grass-resistant Pokemon such as Weezing and Magmortar. Lanturn is another great teammate for Choice Scarf Lilligant, as it deals with most Fire-types relatively well, can Volt Switch out to bring Lilligant in safely, and heavily appreciates Lilligant's ability to check Gastrodon, as well as Lilligant's Healing Wish.

戰術分析
Moves Quiver Dance boosts Lilligant's Special Attack, Special Defense and Speed in one fell swoop. Giga Drain is used as a consistent STAB move that has the additional benefit of healing Lilligant. Hidden Power Rock primarily targets Fire- and Flying-types such as Charizard, Pyroar, Scyther, and Xatu. Hidden Power Fire hits Grass-, Steel-, and Bug-types such as Ferroseed, Abomasnow, Klinklang, and Scyther. Hidden Power Ice is an option to nail bulky Grass-types such as Vileplume and bulky Flying-types such as Xatu in one moveslot without reducing Lilligant's speed IV. Sleep Powder eases setup and shuts down foes that are slower than Lilligant. Set Details Life Orb is used to further amplify Lilligant's already high damage output. A Yache Berry is also an option that prevents Lilligant from being revenge killed by Abomasnow and Piloswine's Ice Shard. Chlorophyll grants Lilligant a better matchup against occasional sun teams. 252 EVs are placed in Special Attack to maximize Lilligant's power. Maximum Speed investment with a Timid nature allows Lilligant to outspeed threats such as positive-natured Pinsir and Mesprit and neutral-natured Kangaskhan and Zangoose before boosting, as well as to Speed tie Jolly variants of the latter two Pokemon, if not running Hidden Power Rock or Fire. Lum Berry acts as a safety net against annoying status conditions such as poison and paralysis and allows Lilligant to switch into Water-types more safely, most of which carry Scald. Usage Tips Players should only attempt to sweep once Lilligant's checks and counters have been weakened or eliminated, otherwise Lilligant may be forced out regardless. It should also be noted that Lilligant needs two boosts to outspeed some Choice Scarf users such as Haunter, Scyther, and Rotom. Players should switch Lilligant into bulky Water- and Ground-types such as Quagsire and Rhydon, as Lilligant resist their STAB moves. However, it cannot safely switch into the latter's Rock Blast and Megahorn. Try to bring Lilligant in on predicted switches, as Lilligant does not like taking unnecessary damage. Players should also not use Sleep Powder recklessly, as it has poor accuracy and grants free switches to Pokemon such as Magmortar and Xatu. Try to predict the opponent's switches into Lilligant's counters, and use Sleep Powder to make it easier to set up. Lilligant can use Sleep Powder early-game to support its teammates or use it late-game when it will attempt to sweep. Players should predict when their opponent will send in certain Pokemon as sleep fodder. This can be accomplished in Team Preview by looking for the least-useful Pokemon on the opponent's team in its current matchup, as well as mid-battle by looking for weakened Pokemon on the opponent's team. If Lilligant is not your primary sweeper, it can be used to poke holes in the opposing team to support its teammates. Team Options Water-types such as Samurott, Kabutops, and Lanturn can benefit Lilligant, as they can dispatch Fire-types such as Magmortar and Pyroar for it. Entry hazards can also greatly aid Lilligant by weakening its checks and counters; good setters include Carracosta, Garbodor, and Archeops. Carracosta in particular can handle Fire-, Flying-, and Ice-types for Lilligant, while Lilligant can deal with Ground- and Electric-types for it. Entry hazards can also pick up crucial KOs for Lilligant that it cannot achieve without them. For instance, Stealth Rock guarantees a 2HKO on Malamar with +1 Life Orb-boosted Giga Drain after Leftovers recovery. Wallbreakers such as Kangaskhan, Aurorus, and Tauros can greatly benefit Lilligant, as they can weaken its checks and counters with their massive offensive presence. Lastly, Fighting-types such as Hariyama and Primeape make good partners, as they can get rid of Steel-types such as Klinklang and Mawile as well as Bouffalant, one of the best counters to Lilligant. Hariyama is a great partner in particular, as it can handle Ice- and Fire-types for Lilligant. Primeape and Hariyama can also carry coverage moves such as Earthquake to weaken Poison-types such as Garbodor and Muk.

Lilligant's stats make it a perfect user of Quiver Dance, being tailor-made for a move that raises its Special Attack, Special Defense, and Speed one stage. As an added bonus, Lilligant also has access to Sleep Powder, enabling it to remove a troublesome check or counter as it switches in. These turns of sleep also create free opportunities to set up more. Giga Drain is Lilligant's most reliable STAB move and heals it in the process. Hidden Power Rock nets pretty good coverage alongside Giga Drain, hitting Fire-, Flying-, and Bug-types super effectively—such as Moltres and Entei—but misses out on Grass- and Steel-types. Alternatively, Hidden Power Fire hits Pokemon of these types, including Rotom-C and Escavalier, while also nailing Bug-types. It is especially useful early-game, when it can be used to lure out these Pokemon and remove them. Unfortunately, using it leaves Lilligant vulnerable to opposing Fire-types. The EVs on this set are rather straightforward: Special Attack and Speed are maximized to capitalize on Quiver Dance's boosts. A Timid nature is necessary to outpace various Pokemon just below Lilligant's Speed tier, including Choice Scarf Pinsir and Rotom-F at +1. Life Orb is naturally the item of choice, as the KOs it ensures are important considering Lilligant struggles to take a hit. That said, Lum Berry is an interesting alternative, offering a nice one-time save from otherwise crippling status such as Uxie's Thunder Wave or Slowking's Toxic. Chlorophyll is the most useful ability, enabling Lilligant to revenge kill Sunny Day sweepers like Victreebel. Substitute over Sleep Powder turns Pokemon like Slowking into setup fodder, allowing Lilligant to dodge status and obtain multiple boosts. However, it loses the ability to put an enemy to sleep, meaning this set plays very differently from the standard Quiver Dance set. Petal Dance is worth a mention along with the Own Tempo ability, but Grass is a bad type to be locked into and makes it even easier to revenge kill. That being said, the power boost is fantastic—Petal Dance can even 2HKO Pokemon that resist it like Entei at +1. Generally, Lilligant fits well in Fire / Water / Grass cores as these give it teammates that can take on Pokemon that trouble it. With Hidden Power Fire, Fire-types like Moltres and Entei wall Lilligant; therefore, a strong Water-type, such as Kabutops, that can remove these foes is very useful. When running Hidden Power Rock, Grass- and Steel-types come in easily, so the Fire-types mentioned earlier pair well with Lilligant. A lack of a Fire-type move also makes Lilligant Escavalier bait, so a Pokemon like Qwilfish is a good teammate to tank its hits. Hidden Power Rock is better when using Lilligant late-game to hit the more common Fire- and Flying-types, as Lilligant can often beat Grass-types one-on-one regardless.

戰術分析
Meet Quiver Dance Lilligant, the flower that could be. Speaking of Quiver Dance, the move is simply amazing, boosting Lilligant's two best stats and bolstering her mediocre Special Defense to acceptable levels. After a Quiver Dance or two and with her counters removed, there's no question that she can pull off a sweep. Sleep Powder helps with setting up, as incapacitating a foe gives her a free turn to set up or, if something that can counter her is still alive, bring in the appropriate teammate for free. The ease with which Lilligant can set up means that she is one of the few of the large group of frail setup sweepers that can actually switch in instead of coming in from a slow U-turn or after sacking something. Both of Lilligant's STAB choices have their own advantages and disadvantages, so the decision must be carefully made. Giga Drain is preferred due to its decent power and that it actually heals Lilligant every time it is used. It also lacks a lock-in, giving Lilligant the freedom to put something to sleep, set up some more, hit a resist with Hidden Power, or switch to a teammate if she cannot handle an opposing Pokemon. However, although being locked into a Grass-type move is not exactly preferable, the additional power from Petal Dance is helpful against certain Pokemon, and Lilligant will not be confused afterwards due to Own Tempo. Here are some calculations that help demonstrate the uses of the additional power provided by Petal Dance, assuming one boost, a Modest nature, and a Life Orb: +1 Petal Dance vs. 4/0 Zapdos 63.6% - 74.8% +1 Petal Dance vs. 4/0 Arcanine 70.1% - 82.2% +1 Petal Dance vs. 4/0 Cobalion 75.2% - 88.5% +1 Petal Dance vs. 4/0 Heracross 64.6% - 75.8% +1 Petal Dance vs. 252/252+ Umbreon 56.6% - 67% +1 Petal Dance vs. 252/0 Bronzong 48.2% - 56.8% The last thing to worry about as far as moveset is concerned is Hidden Power. The Hidden Power choice should be tailored to what support Lilligant has. Hidden Power Rock is by far preferred to hit Darmanitan, Victini, Zapdos, Crobat, and Arcanine. It might be helpful to use Petal Dance in conjunction, as Steel-types will have trouble taking boosted Petal Dances provided Stealth Rock is on the field, and Grass + Rock coverage sadly misses out on hitting Steel-types. Hidden Power Rock hits Zapdos and Togekiss in particular, which take little from Petal Dance. Hidden Power Fire is another option that may be used to hit Bronzong, Heracross, Roserade, Shaymin, Cobalion, and Bisharp hard, especially without any sort of boost. The EVs are quite simple, with max Speed allowing Lilligant to tie with Roserade and max Special Attack for the highest possible damage output. Alternatively, the Speed EVs can be dropped to 224, enough to outspeed Rotom-H, which should be considered particularly if running Hidden Power Rock, as then Lilligant has trouble doing very much damage to Roserade without numerous boosts. The remaining 32 EVs should be placed in either HP or Special Defense in this case. A Modest nature is by far preferable for the additional damage output, but a Timid nature may be used to outspeed max Speed Roserade as well as most Yanmega, Adamant Victini, and Modest Shaymin. The choice of item is quite simple: either sustained extra power from Life Orb or a one-time save from status with Lum Berry. While the additional power from Life Orb is by far preferred, Lum Berry means that Lilligant gets a free pass against paralysis and Toxic Spikes. As far as abilities are concerned, Chlorophyll is useful if Lilligant is on a sun team or to beat opposing sun, but Own Tempo is useful in its own right for preventing confusion from Petal Dance. The only other move option that should be considered is Hidden Power Ice, which is like a semi-hybrid of Hidden Power Rock and Fire in that it hits Flying-types like the former and Grass-types like the latter, as well as hitting Flygon and OHKOing Gligar without any boosts. Due to Lilligant's rather desolate movepool, there is little else that could possibly be run. As Lilligant will always miss out on a few Pokemon due to having to pick between Hidden Powers, proper support to remove these threats is needed. If lacking Hidden Power Rock, a Pokemon like Aerodactyl to remove Flying-types and a Water-type, such as Kingdra or Blastoise, to remove Fire-types should be considered. If lacking Hidden Power Fire, Magneton, Darmanitan, or Victini should be considered to remove Steel-types. Entry hazards are vital to Lilligant's success, putting many targets into KO range and wearing down her counters. Scolipede and Qwilfish can set up Spikes and Cobalion, which has excellent type synergy with Lilligant, can set up Stealth Rock. Sun support is helpful due to Chlorophyll doubling Lilligant's Speed under it; Arcanine and Uxie are the best choices for the job. Fire-types resist all of Lilligant's main weaknesses, so bulkier Fire-types such as Victini and Arcanine make great partners. Lilligant definitely needs some key support to work, but carrying the right support makes Lilligant a very dangerous sweeper and an excellent addition to any team.

This set is meant to be used with Sunny Day support. Leaf Storm and SolarBeam are the strongest STAB choices for Lilligant, and in the sun, SolarBeam does not require a charge turn. SolarBeam is usually preferred as Leaf Storm will lower Lilligant's Special Attack two stages, but if Sunny Day support is unavailable, Leaf Storm becomes the primary option. Hidden Power Rock hits the Flying-type Pokemon that resist Lilligant's STAB attacks, and also nails Chandelure for super effective damage. Sleep Powder allows Lilligant to support its team by putting opponents to sleep, and, in the sun, Lilligant can outspeed nearly every Pokemon and put it to sleep before it can attack. The choice between Protect or Quiver Dance is one between security and power. Protect is usually preferred to allow Lilligant to shield itself from blows that could KO it while its teammates take out the threat; many of the common Pokemon in VGC 2011 can OHKO Lilligant. Additionally, with Lilligant's weaknesses, it will have few opportunities to set up a Quiver Dance. However, Quiver Dance allows Lilligant to set up after Sleep Powder. After a Quiver Dance, Lilligant can OHKO Pokemon that normally counter it, such as Tornadus, Thundurus, and Chandelure, with Hidden Power Rock. A Modest nature is preferred when the sun is up, because with Chlorophyll activated, Lilligant is already outspeeding most Pokemon. Life Orb adds to the damage Lilligant can deal, and thus is the item of choice here. However, if you don't like the idea of Lilligant being OHKOed before it can attack, Focus Sash is a viable item in place of Life Orb. With the sun up and 252 Speed EVs, the only Pokemon that can outspeed Lilligant are fellow Chlorophyll abusers Sawsbuck and Leavanny, which allows Lilligant to run a Modest nature with close to no drawbacks. Fire-types or Wide Guard users are the best partners for Lilligant. Chandelure is common, so Heat Wave is definitely a threat. With a partner using Wide Guard and good prediction, Lilligant can avoid being OHKOed by Heat Wave, and hit back hard with a super effective Hidden Power Rock. A Fire-type partner discourages Chandelure and Volcarona from using Heat Wave. Whimsicott is the fastest user of Sunny Day in VGC 2011, so it is definitely a good teammate for Lilligant. If Teeter Dance is being used, a partner with the Prankster ability can use Substitute to prevent becoming confused.
