戰術分析
Quilladin is a good wall thanks to its good defensive typing, stats, and utility moves. It takes advantage of Pokemon it checks such as Krokorok and Thwackey to set up Spikes, slowly making progress for the entire team. Wood Hammer is Quilladin's most powerful STAB move, hitting Ground- and Water-types such as Piloswine and Quaxwell. With Roar, Quilladin acts as a phazer, preventing Pokemon such as Scraggy and Duosion from setting up. Additionally, Roar takes advantage of Quilladin's own Spikes, passively doing damage to any grounded Pokemon it forces in. Super Fang does good damage to Pokemon with no recovery such as all-out attacker Hisuian Sliggoo and Pignite. Taunt can be used to help break through defensive cores including Pokemon like Duosion and Dunsparce. Taunt is especially useful when paired with Super Fang to heavily weaken defensive Pokemon while preventing them from healing. Synthesis enables Quilladin to stay on the field for a long time. Bulletproof grants an immunity to bullet moves, such as Sludge Bomb, making Quilladin a counter to Ivysaur. Quilladin fits best on balance teams looking for a good entry hazard setter and wall to Grass- and Water-types. Pokemon weak to Grass like Quaxwell, Krokorok, and Piloswine appreciate Quilladin checking Pokemon like Servine, Thwackey, and Ivysaur. Similarly, Water-weak Pokemon like Pignite, Piloswine, and Krokorok appreciate it checking Water-types like Seadra and Quaxwell. Thanks to Bulletproof, Quilladin also checks Hisuian Sliggoo, so Pokemon that struggle against it like Koffing and Hattrem benefit from Quilladin. In return, Koffing checks common Fire-types like Fletchinder, Raboot, and Monferno, while Hattrem prevents the opponent from setting entry hazards on the field, letting Quilladin set as many Spikes as possible without having to deal with the opponent's entry hazards too. Quilladin's Spikes help wallbreakers such as Pignite and Choice Band Piloswine to break through defensive cores, while Quilladin appreciates Drakloak blocking Quaxwell from removing its Spikes thanks to its Ghost-type. Due to Quilladin's passivity, many offensive Pokemon can come in on it for free, so it appreciates being part of a solid defensive backbone including Pokemon such as Quaxwell and Seadra to check Fire-types like Raboot, Monferno and Fletchinder, as well as Pokemon like Tinkatuff and Hisuian Sliggoo to check the likes of Girafarig and Drakloak. Thanks to Magic Bounce, Hattrem completely blocks Quilladin, so Pokemon that take advantage of Hattrem's passivity such as Krokorok and Scraggy pair well with it. Similarly, Fletchinder comes in on Quilladin for free and can remove its Spikes, so Pokemon that threaten it such as Hisuian Sliggoo and Seadra make for good partners. Toxic Spikes heavily hinder Quilladin's longevity, so Poison-types such as Koffing and Mareanie are appreciated to remove them.
