Seismitoad can use Stealth Rock after pivoting into Pokemon such as Rotom-W and Celesteela. Scald gives Seismitoad a chance to burn switch-ins such as Tapu Bulu and Amoonguss as well as offensive Pokemon like Scizor. Toxic makes Seismitoad less passive against the likes of Tangrowth and Slowking switching in. It also helps Seismitoad outlast other Defoggers such as Salamence and Rotom-W as well as threaten other foes like Keldeo. Knock Off is useful for removing items from Defoggers like Salamence, Mandibuzz, and Rotom-W, making it tougher for them to remove Stealth Rock. 64 Speed EVs enable Seismitoad to outspeed Adamant Azumarill. Seismitoad fits best on balance and semi-stall teams that appreciate its defensive qualities and Stealth Rock and Knock Off support. Grass-types like Amoonguss and Tangrowth act as secondary checks to Water-types such as Primarina, Keldeo, and Azumarill, for Seismitoad struggles to check then by itself. They also as good Knock Off sponges for Seismitoad to maintain Leftovers. Tapu Bulu also counters the aforementioned Water-types and provides Grassy Terrain support to increase Seismitoad's longevity. Salamence and Skarmory help take on Grass-types like Zarude and Tangrowth, with the latter also providing Spikes to complement Seismitoad's Stealth Rock. Salamence also can keep Seismitoad from being worn down by Spikes with Defog. Umbreon and Jirachi can sustain Seismitoad with Wish, with the former checking wallbreakers like Mamoswine, Azelf, and Nidoqueen that can overwhelm Seismitoad. Togekiss can similarly play the role of a cleric and assist in pressuring Grass-types like Zarude and Tapu Bulu while forming a solid backbone against Keldeo. In exchange, Seismitoad helps in wearing down Rotom-W and Rotom-H. Chansey also acts as a cleric with Aromatherapy and walls dangerous wallbreakers like Hydreigon, Thundurus-T, and Azelf with ease.

戰術分析
Seismitoad's ability to outspeed and remove threats such as Belly Drum Azumarill and Crawdaunt gives it a niche as a Water-immune Pokemon for Ground teams. Compared to its main competition, Gastrodon, Seismitoad trades longevity and walling potential for utility, Speed, and offensive presence. Substitute takes advantage of foes locked into a Water-type move such as Choice Scarf Urshifu-R and Choice Band Barraskewda, as well as passive, status-reliant Pokemon such as Rotom-W and Toxapex. Power Whip deals heavy damage to Water-types, notably KOing Azumarill after it has used Belly Drum, Crawdaunt after Stealth Rock damage, and Urshifu-R after a Close Combat Defense drop. Power Whip also deters Calm Mind Tapu Fini and Keldeo from using Seismitoad as setup fodder. Earthquake threatens Poison- and Steel-types such as Toxapex, Dragalge, and Magnezone. Knock Off deals with Ghost-types and removes items from switch-ins such as Tapu Bulu, Zapdos, and Zarude. 104 Speed EVs with an Adamant nature allow Seismitoad to beat Adamant Crawdaunt and Adamant Azumarill, while the defensive investment lets it survive Close Combat from Choice Band Urshifu-R. Status, especially Toxic, hinders Seismitoad's ability to pivot against predicted Water-type moves from Urshifu-R and Kingdra. This makes Nidoking an excellent teammate, as it absorbs Toxic Spikes. Nidoking also deals with Steel-types such as Ferrothorn and Celesteela and threatens Kommo-o, Tapu Bulu, and Corviknight, which commonly use Seismitoad as setup fodder. Seismitoad's offensive presence makes it a great fit for sand teams, as Choice Band Sand Rush Excadrill appreciates Seismitoad's ability to remove Azumarill and Rotom-W, and in return outspeeds and removes threats such as Kyurem, Zarude, Tapu Bulu, and Tapu Lele. Landorus-T provides a Ground-type immunity and can take Grass-type attacks from Zarude and Choice Specs Jirachi. Mamoswine deals with Flying- and Grass-types such as Galarian Moltres, Zapdos, and Tapu Bulu. It also switches into Freeze-Dry from Alolan Ninetales and Kyurem. In return, Seismitoad switches into Scald from Slowbro and Toxapex. Swords Dance Garchomp pressures Dragon- and Flying-types such as Kyurem, Dragonite, and Corviknight as well.

Seismitoad is the premier Stealth Rock setter for Swift Swim teams while also providing an Electric-type immunity for the team. Hydro Pump is hard to switch into under rain, and Earth Power is strong Ground-type STAB move for Seismitoad to use. Focus Blast allows Seismitoad to 2HKO Ferrothorn. Grass Knot will enable Seismitoad to take on opposing rain teams with more ease as well as Water-immune Pokemon such as Gastrodon and opposing Seimsitoad, with Hydro Pump being able to take on Ground teams in the rain easily. However, Ferrothorn is harder to break past for the team without Focus Blast. Seismitoad's EV spread allows it to take advantage of the rain to its best ability by being as strong and as fast as possible. Barraskewda and Gyarados appreciate Seismitoad's ability to set up Stealth Rock as well as help them break past physical walls such as Ferrothorn by wearing them down. Gyarados is also a check to Choice Scarf Gardevoir on rain teams, which poses a considerable threat to Swift Swim Water teams through outspeeding every Pokemon on the type by obtaining Swift Swim through Trace. Furthermore, Barraskewda can take on faster Choice Scarf users such as Terrakion and Gengar under rain. Other wallbreakers such as Keldeo are appreciated as partners as they break down shared checks with Seismitoad and can beat faster Pokemon such as Hydreigon and Indeedee outside of rain. Toxapex is a good partner for Seismitoad as a result of its Grass neutrality as well as its ability to weaken the opposing team by spreading status.

戰術分析
Seismitoad is an incredibly effective pivot thanks to its fantastic bulk which lets it check physical attackers like Zeraora and Tyranitar. Furthermore, its fantastic typing lets it handle the likes of Heatran and Dracozolt, and thanks to Water Absorb, it's also a fantastic check to Water-types like Rotom-W, Keldeo, and Urshifu-R. Seismitoad's excellent defensive profile gives a plethora of opportunities to set up entry hazards, which is why Spikes is preferred over Stealth Rock. However, Stealth Rock is an option if the team already has another Spikes setter. Shore Up allows Seismitoad to stay healthy throughout a game, so that it can check Pokemon like Cinderace and Zeraora long-term. Thousand Waves allows Seismitoad to trap Pokemon such as Toxapex and Tyranitar. Toxic is an alternative to Thousand Waves that punishes switch-ins like Rotom-W, Tornadus-T, and opposing Seismitoad, allowing partners like Heatran, Keldeo, and Aerodactyl to potentially break through them. Rocky Helmet can be used to further spread chip damage onto Pokemon such as Zeraora, Cinderace, and Buzzwole, while Heavy-Duty Boots prevents Seismitoad from being pressured by entry hazards while switching in on wallbreakers. Wallbreakers like Cinderace and Aerodactyl pressure Pokemon that want to switch into Seismitoad's Flip Turn, like Ferrothorn and Tornadus-T. 0 Speed IVs and EVs and a Relaxed nature can be used for a slower Flip Turn, underspeeding Pokemon like Clefable to better bring in wallbreakers like Aerodactyl.

戰術分析
Sporting a solid typing, colorful coverage, and access to Swift Swim, Seismitoad is a potent rain sweeper that can threaten many common Pokemon in the Series 12 format. Seismitoad's spammable STAB combination allows it to set its own rain with Max Geyser and boost its Special Defense with Max Quake while Dynamaxed, making it more difficult to revenge kill. Power Whip is necessary coverage to break past Water-immune Pokemon and other bulky Water-types, such as Kyogre, Quagsire, and Tapu Fini, with Life Orb-boosted Max Overgrowth OHKOing all three. Brick Break is Seismitoad's best option for a physical Max Knuckle, further preventing Ferrothorn and physically defensive Porygon2 from walling it. Brick Break also allows Seismitoad to remove opposing Light Screen and Reflect for its team. Bounce is Seismitoad's only option for Max Airstream, but the Speed boost can be crucial if rain runs out the following turn, and it heavily damages most Grass-type switch-ins. Notably, it is the only listed move that can damage Shedinja while Seismitoad is Dynamaxed. Ice Punch is Seismitoad's only way to hit Dragonite and defensive Zygarde-C for meaningful damage, maintains coverage against Grass-types, and is its strongest option against Landorus-T outside of rain. At the cost of a coverage option, Seismitoad can set Stealth Rock if its team lacks a setter. Due to its ability to threaten a sweep under rain, Seismitoad can find opportunities to set up Stealth Rock on predicted switches to checks like Ferrothorn, Lapras, and Shedinja. Toxic may seem strange on such an offensive Pokemon, but it supports Seismitoad's team by crippling a potentially troublesome wall, and Seismitoad's threat level tends to draw walls in. Additionally, if Seismitoad forgoes Bounce, Toxic is its only option to defeat Heavy-Duty Boots Shedinja. Kyogre is one of Seismitoad's best teammates, as it can summon rain with Drizzle to kickstart a Seismitoad sweep, and together they can wear down their shared checks. While Seimitoad's power under rain and many coverage options make it difficult to keep in check, it still needs to be wary of Grass- and bulky Water-types. Zapdos makes for a standout partner, threatening them with its accurate STAB Hurricane and Thunder under rain. Urshifu-S pressures the likes of Ferrothorn, Shedinja, and Porygon2, which give Seismitoad trouble. Items Life Orb is the best item to enable a Seismitoad sweep, granting it high damage output while Dynamaxed despite an only average Attack stat. Choice Band makes Seismitoad worse at Dynamax sweeping, in exchange for OHKOing maximum HP Zacian-C and havng a 70% chance of OHKOing maximum HP Kyogre with Power Whip. However, if Life Orb is already being used by another Pokemon, other viable options include Mystic Water, Rindo Berry, and Expert Belt. Do note that Seismitoad needs either a Life Orb or Expert Belt to OHKO Kyogre with Max Overgrowth. EV Spreads 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe with Adamant: Under rain, this EV spread lets Seismitoad outspeed the entire unboosted metagame bar Regieleki, as well as +1 positive-natured base 100s. 116 HP / 252 Atk / 140 Spe with Adamant: This EV spread gives Seismitoad a good chance of surviving a Play Rough from Jolly Zacian-C while still outspeeding Pheromosa and Calyrex-S under rain. 52 HP / 252 Atk / 204 Spe with Adamant: If Seismitoad is holding a Rindo Berry, this EV spread will allow it to survive a Grassy Glide from Choice Band Rillaboom under Dynamax.

戰術分析
Despite its lower Special Attack stat, Seismitoad can run a specially-based set worth consideration, as Hydro Pump actually outdamages Liquidation against neutral targets, and the ability to catch opponents off guard with a mixed set has tremendous value in a best-of-one format. A Ground-type STAB move lets Seismitoad deal good damage against Zacian-C, with Earthquake doing more against Kyogre and Tyranitar, while Earth Power is less vulnerable to Attack drops via Intimidate or burn. Power Whip nets crucial coverage against Water-immune Pokemon and bulky Water-types. Grass Knot is a feasible alternative, sporting much higher damage against physically-bulky targets like Quagsire. It is significantly weaker against Kyogre and Gastrodon than Power Whip, though, and will fail if the target is Dynamaxed. Focus Blast is Seismitoad's only way of hitting Ferrothorn for significant damage, netting a 2HKO against specially defensive variants outside of Dynamax. Sludge Bomb allows Seismitoad to boost its Special Attack with Max Ooze while Dynamaxed, and it's Seismitoad's strongest option against Rillaboom. Seismitoad can set Stealth Rock if there's not already a setter on its team, but it won't be able to surmount Grass-types. While Toxic may seem out of place on a set designed for sweeping, it is Seismitoad's only shot at beating Chansey, specially defensive Porygon2, and Shedinja, and it can put other troublesome walls on a timer for its team. Items Life Orb is the best item to enable a Seismitoad sweep, granting it high damage output while Dynamaxed despite its only average attacking stats. However, if Life Orb is already being used by another Pokemon on the team, other viable options include Mystic Water, Assault Vest, and Expert Belt. EV Spreads 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe with Mild: Under rain, Seismitoad will outspeed the entire unboosted metagame bar Regieleki, as well as +1 positive-natured base 100s. A Mild nature is preferred over Rash to always survive a Max Geyser from Modest Kyogre while Dynamaxed. A special-only set with a Modest nature can be run if opting for Grass Knot, though such a set struggles even more to break past many of the metagame's special walls.

戰術分析
With its serviceable bulk, great defensive typing, and coveted Water Absorb ability, Seismitoad can act as one of the sturdiest Kyogre switch-ins around while blanket checking the metagame's many Water-types. While it competes with Gastrodon, which sports higher special bulk and access to Recover, Seismitoad's unique utility movepool and access to Grass-type coverage make it less predictable. Stealth Rock is the primary advantage Seismitoad has over many other Water-immune Pokemon, freeing up its teammates to run more offensive sets. Seismitoad's access to Toxic, very valuable and rare for a non-Poison type, is key to put foes on a timer. If holding a Light Ball, Fling becomes a one-time paralysis-inducing move, which can be a nasty surprise for offensive switch-ins that don't mind Toxic but hate the Speed drop from paralysis. If holding Leftovers, Protect allows Seismitoad to restore a bit of additional HP per turn, as well as scouting for potentially devastating Grass-type coverage. Power Whip is an option for more security against bulkier Kyogre variants, particularly those with Substitute + Calm Mind. In general, carrying Grass-type coverage makes Seismitoad a much better check to many threatening Water-types, such as Tapu Fini, Quagsire, and Rotom-W. Rest when paired with Chesto Berry, lets Seismitoad stick around much longer. Items Light Ball makes Fling a one-time paralysis-inducing move. Leftovers provides Seismitoad with passive recovery each turn, and it synergizes especially well with Protect. Aguav Berry is an alternate healing option. Chesto Berry is required when running Rest, to avoid losing serious momentum while asleep. EV Spreads The listed 4 Speed EVs allow Fling Seismitoad to outpace paralyzed Cinderace. 212 HP / 4 Atk / 92 Def / 196 SpD / 4 Spe with Careful: This EV spread allows Seismitoad to avoid the 2HKO from Adamant Zacian-C's Behemoth Blade, avoid the OHKO from its Play Rough, and survive a Choice Band-boosted Wicked Blow from Urshifu-S. 252 HP / 252 SpD / 4 Spe with Careful: This spread maximizes Seismitoad's special bulk, letting it take on Kyogre as well as possible. 228 HP / 4 Atk / 76 Def / 196 SpD / 4 Spe with Careful: This spread allows Seismitoad to always survive Timid Life Orb Yveltal's Max Darkness and almost always survive Adamant Zacian-C's Play Rough.

Moves Substitute provides Seismitoad with a lot more opportunities to use Toxic on faster threats like Sceptile and Decidueye without fearing being KOed in the process. Additionally, Substitute allows Seismitoad to avoid being statused by Toxic from foes such as Vaporeon and Blastoise. Toxic allows Seismitoad to wear down an opposing Pokemon and cripple threats such as Decidueye and Alolan Exeggutor that it otherwise is unable to effectively punish. Scald allows Seismitoad to punish users it can't touch with Toxic, such as Weezing and Golbat; however, it can be counterproductive if it inflicts a burn on an unwanted target like Sceptile, preventing Seismitoad from being able to use Toxic on it. Earthquake allows Seismitoad to remove the likes of Heliolisk and Togedemaru as well as punish Pokemon like Garbodor from setting up entry hazards freely against Seismitoad. Protect is an option to scout for coverage and status while still racking up a turn of Toxic damage. It can also allow Seismitoad to gain a free turn of Leftovers recovery, but Seismitoad has to drop Earthquake leaving it more vulnerable when pressuring threats like Heliolisk. Set Details The given 232 Speed EVs with a Timid nature allow Seismitoad to outpace Magmortar, Decidueye, and Samurott to effectively rack up multiple turns of Toxic damage with Substitute or potentially put them on a timer as a last-ditch effort and, in the former's case, to remove it with Earthquake. The rest of the EVs are invested into bulk with a Bold nature to allow Seismitoad to still pivot into threats like Incineroar and Aerodactyl. Leftovers is vital for Seismitoad to passively recover its health, especially when it continually reduces its health with Substitute. Water Absorb grants Seismitoad an immunity to Water-type attacks, allowing it to take advantage of Pokemon like Blastoise and opposing Seismitoad. Usage Tips While this set can look to pivot into Pokemon it can check like Aerodactyl and Garbodor, its main goal is to spread Toxic to whittle down its switch-ins, so Seismitoad should attempt to come in on a free switch rather than take too much unnecessary damage. It is important for Seismitoad to be behind a Substitute in order to safely get a Toxic off against some of its checks such as Sceptile, Decidueye, and Alolan Exeggutor as well as beat Pokemon like Vaporeon and defensive Druddigon one-on-one, which are unable to break its Substitute or wear down Seismitoad with status like Toxic as a result. Substitute should not be used too liberally, as it is important that Seismitoad conserves enough health to pivot into threats like Aerodactyl, especially with it being reliant on Leftovers as its source of recovery. Seismitoad is also very susceptible to Knock Off for this reason. Status moves such as Toxic and Will-O-Wisp similarly hinder Seismitoad's effectiveness, so it should not switch too liberally into common status users. Water Absorb gives Seismitoad the potential to switch into Pokemon like Blastoise and opposing Seismitoad to recover lost health; however, Seismitoad has to be careful of getting poisoned by Toxic in the process. Team Options Seismitoad beating bulky Water-types is greatly appreciated by Pokemon like Magmortar and Mega Glalie, both of which are unable to effectively break past Water-types like Vaporeon and Slowking without specific coverage moves. In return, Mega Glalie and Magmortar are able to threaten Grass-types, and Mega Glalie can also set up Spikes to stack residual damage with Seismitoad's Toxic. Fire-types like Delphox and Incineroar are great partners, as they can pressure the many Grass-types like Whimsicott and Sceptile that threaten Seismitoad. Delphox also has the ability to greatly improve Seismitoad's longevity through Wish support, especially with it reducing its health with Substitute a lot. Delphox also invites Water- and Rock-types such as Vaporeon and Rhydon, which gives Seismitoad an opportunity to switch in and set up a free Substitute. Defensive Incineroar's access to a slow U-turn combined with its tendency to invite in bulky Ground-types like Rhydon helps Seismitoad secure an opportunity to come in and fire off its STAB coverage or set up a free Substitute. Incineroar also checks the many Grass-types that force out Seismitoad and appreciates Seismitoad's ability to absorb the Water coverage aimed at it in return. Other slow pivots such as Vikavolt and Xatu work well with Seismitoad, as it appreciates the safe switches in. Vikavolt also helps switch into the Grass-types that threaten Seismitoad and retaliate with its Bug-type STAB moves to remove them. Pokemon such as Samurott and Heliolisk appreciate Seismitoad luring in Grass-types like Dhelmise and Decidueye to cripple them with Toxic. Late-game cleaners such as Braviary, Comfey, and Vivillon appreciate Seismitoad's ability to cripple a multitude of Pokemon and remove Pokemon like Rotom and Togedemaru for them to sweep more easily.

戰術分析
Moves Seismitoad is a decent Stealth Rock user by virtue of its natural bulk and ability to pressure other entry hazard setters in the tier such as Steelix, Garbodor, and Palossand. Scald is the Water-type STAB move of choice due to its decent chance to burn the foe, which can be detrimental to a lot of Pokemon such as Dhelmise and Druddigon. Refresh allows Seismitoad to cure itself of status ailments such as Toxic, which helps improve its longevity. It also allows Seismitoad to pivot into Pokemon like Blastoise and Vaporeon knowing it can stall them out of Toxic PP while absorbing their Water-type STAB moves. Earthquake hits threats like Delphox, Heliolisk, and defensive Garbodor significantly harder than Earth Power would, notably being strong enough to KO Heliolisk. Alternatively, Toxic gives Seismitoad the ability to cripple Pokemon like Slowking, Alolan Exeggutor, and Vaporeon, which fear very little from Seismitoad's STAB moves and don't care about being burned that much, and the latter is immune to Scald due to Water Absorb. Set Details The given Speed EVs with a Timid nature allow Seismitoad to outpace Incineroar and Xatu. The rest of the EVs are invested into physical bulk to allow Seismitoad to check Pokemon like Incineroar and Aerodactyl better. Leftovers gives Seismitoad the passive recovery it requires to consistently keep pivoting into these threats. Water Absorb provides Seismitoad with an immunity to Water-type coverage from Pokemon like Blastoise and Vaporeon to potentially provide Seismitoad with another way to recover its health when hit by said coverage. An EV spread of 252 HP / 216 Def / 40 Spe with a Bold nature can be run to give Seismitoad more defensive capabilities that can allow it to pivot into Pokemon like Aerodactyl more easily. The 40 Speed EVs allow Seismitoad to outspeed defensive Garbodor and 2HKO it with Earthquake. Usage Tips Seismitoad should aim to switch into Pokemon it can check and force out like Steelix, Palossand, and Togedemaru, securing a free opportunity to set up Stealth Rock. Seismitoad can use its ability Water Absorb and Refresh to pivot into Pokemon like Vaporeon and defensive Slowking to regain health and potentially put them on a timer with Toxic. You should look to remove Seismitoad's status immediately to prevent it from being worn down too much, especially if it can't find a free opportunity to do so later on. While Seismitoad has a good set of resistances and immunities, it should not switch into some threats like Samurott and Delphox too liberally, as they can easily threaten it with strong or super effective coverage options; they are notably effective users of Grass Knot. Similarly, Seismitoad invites Grass-types like Whimsicott and Sceptile and can only put them on a timer with Toxic before being forced out. However, Seismitoad can limit their switches with Toxic damage in conjunction with Stealth Rock chip damage, especially if utilizing Protect to get more Toxic damage off. Seismitoad is reliant on Leftovers for passive recovery, so it should avoid switching into strong physical attackers like Incineroar and Rhydon too liberally. Team Options Fire-types like Incineroar, Magmortar, and Delphox work well with Seismitoad thanks to their ability to pressure Grass-types. Incineroar is able to lure in many of its checks like Rhydon and Aerodactyl to potentially pivot out with U-turn and give Seismitoad the free turn to pressure them and set up Stealth Rock. Delphox appreciates these checks being removed too and is able to provide Wish support, which is fantastic due to Seismitoad's reliance on Leftovers. Aerodactyl is another great partner that can threaten the abundance of Grass-types in the tier while also providing a secondary check to Fire-types, which takes some pressure off Seismitoad. In return, Seismitoad is able to take the Water coverage aimed at Aerodactyl and check the bulky Ground-types that Aerodactyl struggles to break. Pursuit users such as Sneasel and the aforementioned Aerodactyl can trap and remove Xatu while also threatening it with their STAB coverage, which gives Seismitoad an easier time to set up Stealth Rock. Entry hazard removal from Pokemon like Rotom, Dhelmise, and Decidueye works well to prevent Seismitoad from getting worn down easily. These Pokemon can also pressure the bulky Water-types that Seismitoad struggles with such as Slowking, Blastoise, and opposing Seismitoad and are capable of acting as effective spinblockers. Poison-types such as Garbodor and Weezing work well with Seismitoad by pressuring Grass-types like Whimsicott, Sceptile, and Dhelmise; additionally, both can act as Toxic absorbers for Seismitoad, and Garbodor is also able to absorb Toxic Spikes, which prevents Seismitoad from having to use Refresh immediately and draining momentum.

戰術分析
Moves Seismitoad has an easier time setting up Stealth Rock, as it effectively threatens opposing entry hazard setters and forms of entry hazard control like Rhydon, Steelix, Xatu, and Rotom. Hydro Pump hits Pokemon like Rotom, Weezing, and Incineroar for heavy damage and weakens your opponent's team significantly if unresisted. Hydro Pump, when boosted by Waterium Z, OHKOes Xatu. Earth Power hits Pokemon like Blastoise, Druddigon, and Heliolisk that resist or are immune to Hydro Pump. Knock Off mainly makes Pokemon like Golbat and Blastoise easier to wear down, removing their Eviolite and Leftovers. Toxic is another viable fourth move, allowing Seismitoad to cripple metagame staples like Slowking, Comfey, Vaporeon, and Dhelmise. Sludge Bomb can also be used over Knock Off, as it lets Seismitoad OHKO Whimsicott and 2HKO Grass-types like Alolan Exeggutor and Sceptile while potentially crippling common switch-ins like Slowking and Decidueye. However, it is not as consistently useful as Knock Off or Toxic. Set Details 252 EVs in Speed and Special Attack with a Modest nature give Seismitoad the most firepower it can get while still outspeeding a key target in Incineroar. Waterium Z enables Seismitoad to get past entry hazard control like Xatu and Rotom by OHKOing said targets with Hydro Vortex and gives it a safe option if you don't want to worry about missing Hydro Pump. Hydro Vortex also often catches Pokemon like Weezing and Pangoro off guard thinking they can set up relatively safely. Water Absorb gives Seismitoad a Water immunity, making it a relatively safe switch-in to Water-types like Blastoise and Vaporeon and helping it check Heliolisk better. Although, players must be wary of Toxic from the aforementioned Water-types. Usage Tips This particular set is best used as a lead and is able to scare out a number of Pokemon. Use Seismitoad's offensive presence to force out opposing Pokemon and gain an opportunity to set up Stealth Rock, preferably as soon as possible. With Waterium Z, Seismitoad threatens common leads, often Stealth Rock users like Rhydon, Steelix, and Palossand. Predicting an incoming Golbat and going for Knock Off, thus removing its Eviolite, offers great utility for your team. In the same vein, removing an incoming Whimsicott's Choice Specs greatly reduces its damage output. This set doesn't have the bulk to take a lot of hits. Keep this in mind when switching in, even against resisted moves like Delphox's Fire Blast and Aerodactyl's Stone Edge. Try to time the usage of Hydro Vortex correctly. It has good surprise value and works best on Pokemon with uninvested special bulk like Weezing, Xatu, and Vikavolt. Team Options Other entry hazard setters like Garbodor and Ferroseed appreciate Seismitoad's ability to remove entry hazard control and checks to these Pokemon like Xatu and Rotom. Garbodor in particular forms a good entry hazard core with Seismitoad. Garbodor takes care of Grass-types, while Seismitoad gets rid of Ground-types. Seismitoad can pave the way for physically offensive Pokemon like Passimian and Togedemaru by removing checks like Weezing and Vikavolt with a potent Hydro Vortex. In return, Togedemaru helps Seismitoad deal with Rock-types and is also an answer to Flying-types, which makes up for Seismitoad's lack of a Flying resistance. Flying-types like Aerodactyl, Sigilyph, and Vivillon take care of Grass-types hindering Seismitoad. Seismitoad offers itself as a Rock-resistant and Electric-immune teammate in exchange.

Moves Since Seismitoad walls Rotom-Wash and various other common Volt Switch users, it gets many free opportunities to set up Stealth Rock during a game. Scald hits common Pokemon such as Landorus-T super effectively and can heavily punish switches to physical attackers like Kartana and Tapu Bulu with a burn. Earthquake hits common defensive Pokemon super effectively, importantly being able to OHKO Heatran and 2HKO Assault Vest Magearna and specially defensive Toxapex. Knock Off can also be used in place of Earthquake to remove items such as Leftovers from common switch-ins such as Tapu Fini, Ferrothorn, and Serperior, as well as Eviolite from Chansey. Toxic threatens Pokemon that do not fear Seismitoad's STAB attacks, such as Rotom-Wash, Tapu Bulu, and Mega Latias. Refresh can also be used, as it allows Seismitoad to not fear Will-O-Wisp or Toxic from Pokemon it is tasked with dealing with, such as Rotom-Wash. Rest can be used on bulkier teams to allow Seismitoad to heal itself, although this requires a lot of team support such as Heal Bell and Wish; therefore, Refresh is much easier to fit onto Seismitoad. Set Details 12 Speed EVs allow Seismitoad to outrun uninvested Mega Scizor and threaten it with a Scald burn. 244 HP EVs and 36 Defense EVs allow Seismitoad to avoid the OHKO from a Swords Dance-boosted Sucker Punch from Mega Mawile. Lastly, the rest of the EVs are put into Special Defense to help Seismitoad better take on special attackers such as Tapu Koko and Magearna. If Earthquake is not being used, you should use a Calm nature instead to maximize the amount of damage Scald does. It is also possible to use an alternate physically defensive spread of 252 HP / 244 Def / 12 Spe with an Impish nature, which allows Seismitoad to better take on physical attackers such as Landorus-T, Tyranitar, Mega Charizard X, and Mega Mawile. However, the specially defensive set is more commonly useful due to the prevalence of Tapu Koko, Magearna, and Heatran. Usage Tips Seismitoad should be sent out against Pokemon that it can easily wall, such as Rotom-Wash, allowing it to freely set up Stealth Rock or potentially Scald burn an incoming switch-in. Seismitoad is also adept at coming in on predicted Electric-type moves, specifically Volt Switch from the likes of Magearna and Tapu Koko, allowing it to threaten them out with Earthquake. Also, make sure to take full advantage of Water Absorb to get free recovery from a Choice-locked Greninja using Hydro Pump or a Toxapex using Scald. While Heatran is a Pokemon that Seismitoad can switch in on and threaten, you should also be wary of Heatran's Grassium Z variant, which threatens to OHKO Seismitoad. You should make sure to keep multiple layers of Spikes off the field when using Seismitoad, as it isn't able to reliably heal off this damage. It also allows your opponent to bait your Seismitoad in with their Electric-types, causing it to take Spikes damage and get worn down. Team Options Seismitoad fits on a plethora of team styles, but it's especially good on teams ranging from semi-stall to bulky offense. You should always pair Seismitoad with a Grass-type check, such as Magearna, Heatran, or Celesteela. Heatran is especially noteworthy because of its ability to handle the dangerous Serperior and because Heatran greatly appreciates both Seismitoad's immunity to Water-type attacks and not needing to run Stealth Rock itself, freeing up a moveslot for Protect or Taunt. It is also a good idea to run both a Dark-type answer such as Clefable or Magearna and a Fairy-type check such as Jirachi or Heatran for Greninja's Dark Pulse and Tapu Koko's Dazzling Gleam, as Seismitoad cannot switch into these moves repeatedly. Entry hazards limit the number of times Seismitoad can switch in, so pairing it with hazard removal such as Tornadus-T is highly beneficial. Wish support can be useful when using Seismitoad, as it acts as an extra safety net when Seismitoad's HP runs low, so pairing it with a Wish passer such as Jirachi or Clefable is beneficial. If your Seismitoad isn't running Refresh, it is a good idea to bring cleric support from the likes of Clefable and Chansey, preventing your Seismitoad from being worn down by status and waking it up if it opts to use Rest.

Moves Stealth Rock gets important chip damage against metagame threats like Ninetales and Noivern. Scald is Seismitoad's primary STAB move that has a 30% chance to burn. Earthquake is great for covering common Pokemon like Registeel, Roserade, Toxicroak, Mega Ampharos, Dragalge, Gardevoir, and Assault Vest Hariyama. Toxic is great for crippling walls, and puts sweepers like Calm Mind Necrozma on a timer. Refresh is usable to remedy status, notably Toxic, from defensive staples like Registeel. Set Details 252 HP and 252 Defense EVs with a Relaxed nature let Seismitoad be as physically bulky as possible, giving it more insurance against physical threats like Zygarde-10% and Arcanine. Leftovers gives it passive recovery. Water Absorb lets it heal off any Water-type attacks from Pokemon like Mantine. Usage Tips Prioritize setting up Stealth Rock, as it is frequently important to win games. Use Toxic to cripple some of the entry hazard removers that Seismitoad struggles with, notably Mandibuzz and Mega Blastoise, as they switch in. Use Scald freely to spread burns, unless you're worried that Seismitoad will burn a wall that you would rather inflict Toxic poison on. Capitalize on Seismitoad's defensive utility to pivot in and force out Pokemon like Metagross, Barbaracle, and Raikou. Team Options Noivern and Brave Bird Mandibuzz are great at combating the best Grass-types in the tier, Roserade, Virizion, and Shaymin. In return, Seismitoad spreads Toxic poison to wear down walls and provides an immunity to Electric-type attacks and a resistance to Rock-type attacks as well. However, when using Noivern, look out for Stone Edge from Virizion and Hidden Power Ice from Roserade and Shaymin. Specially defensive walls like Registeel and Snorlax are great for taking super effective special attacks from Pokemon like Shaymin that run through Seismitoad and help provide another check for Mega Blastoise. Other Pokemon like Florges and Umbreon offer this as well as Wish support to keep Seismitoad healthy.

Moves Earthquake is preferred over any other Ground-type STAB moves because it allows Seismitoad to hit certain Pokemon harder, notably 2HKOing Empoleon and OHKOing Nihilego. However, Earth Power can be used instead to hit Pokemon like Cobalion and Crawdaunt harder. Toxic is used to cripple Pokemon that would otherwise wall Seismitoad, such as Slowbro and Latias. Alternatively, Refresh can be used to cure itself of status ailments such as poison and burn that would otherwise whittle it down. Set Details Leftovers provides Seismitoad with the passive recovery it needs to help it check the threats it needs to. Water Absorb grants Seismitoad an immunity to Water-type attacks, allowing it to take advantage of Pokemon like Choice Specs Primarina and Volcanion. Usage Tips The point of this set is to make use of Seismitoad's immunity to Water-type attacks to threaten bulky Water-types like Slowbro and Alomomola with Toxic, something Pokemon like Swampert and Hippowdon have a hard time doing. Seismitoad is a relatively straightforward Pokemon to use: it should attempt to switch into Pokemon that it can check like Mega Aerodactyl and Slowbro in order to find an opportunity to set up Stealth Rock. Even though Water Absorb grants Seismitoad an immunity to Water-type attacks, it should not be recklessly switching into any Water-type Pokemon, as they can still hit it very hard with a different move. It's safe to switch into a Water-type attack from a Choice-locked Pokemon like Primarina or Volcanion, however, or when it's certain that the foe will use said move. Since it doesn't have access to reliable recovery, Seismitoad can be easily worn down. As such, it should try to avoid tanking hits unnecessarily, as that would hinder its ability to check what it's intended to. It should also avoid switching into a potential Knock Off, Toxic, or Will-O-Wisp for the same reason, as it heavily relies on Leftovers as its main form of recovery. However, if running Refresh then status such as the aforementioned Toxic aren't as worrying and Seismitoad should attempt to cleanse itself of any status ailment as soon as inflicted. This being key for allowing Seismitoad to indefinitely wall the likes of Rotom-Heat. Be wary of Grass-type coverage such as Mega Manectric's Hidden Power Grass and Infernape's Grass Knot, as they can easily OHKO Seismitoad. Team Options Seismitoad fits best on balance or bulky offense builds that appreciate its ability to set up Stealth Rock and wear down bulky Water-types with Toxic. The best partners for Seismitoad are Pokemon that can sponge Grass-type attacks like Moltres, Latias, and Hydreigon, as Seismitoad is very threatened by them. Latias and Hydreigon are exceptionally good partners because they're also able to provide a secondary check to Electric-types like Mega Manectric and Zeraora, Pokemon that Seismitoad has trouble dealing with on its own. Wish support from Pokemon like Sylveon and Florges is appreciated, as Seismitoad is prone to being worn down due to its lack of reliable recovery. Cleric support from Pokemon like Togekiss, Blissey, and the aformentioned Sylveon and Florges is also very useful, since Seismitoad is heavily crippled by status. Dragon-type Pokemon like Latias and Hydreigon can easily switch into Seismitoad and take advantage of its passive nature, so Pokemon that can check them, such as the aforementioned Togekiss and Florges, make good teammates. Pursuit users are extremely useful partners, especially if Seismitoad is not running Toxic in order to trap and remove Pokemon like Latias and Celebi that easily pivot into it. Pokemon that appreciate bulky Water-types like Slowbro and Alomomola being worn down like to be partnered with Seismitoad. Examples include Cobalion, Mega Aerodactyl, and Infernape. Entry hazards are another way to wear down Seismitoad, so Pokemon that can remove them from the field like Defog Rotom-Heat and Hydreigon pair well with it.

Moves Earth Power is notable for OHKOing Pokemon like Volcanion and Cobalion when holding an Expert Belt, and it is integral in letting Seismitoad pressure Empoleon and Tentacruel. Hidden Power Fire allows Seismitoad to revenge kill offensive Scizor, which other moves fail to do. Sludge Wave can also be used, allowing Seismitoad to hit Pokemon like Primarina, Rotom-Mow, Mega Altaria, and Celebi super effectively. Set Details The given EV spread allows Seismitoad to outspeed maximum Speed Scizor while also retaining some bulk. Water Absorb grants Seismitoad an immunity to Water-type attacks, allowing it to take advantage of Pokemon like Starmie, Choice Specs Primarina, and Volcanion. Leftovers is the item of choice, as it provides Seismitoad with a form of passive recovery, allowing it to be more durable and tank certain hits more easily, such as Mega Aerodactyl's Wing Attack. Expert Belt is also an option, as it allows Seismitoad to secure the OHKO on offensive Scizor and Volcanion while also giving it a chance to OHKO Hippowdon without hindering its longevity too much. 228 Speed EVs should be used with Expert Belt to outspeed Volcanion, one of its main targets. It also allows Seismitoad to outspeed base 60s like Primarina and Bewear. Usage Tips Seismitoad should be brought in via double switching or on a U-turn or Volt Switch, as it's not bulky enough to switch directly into attacks. However, it can attempt to switch into Pokemon like Rotom-Heat or moves like Scizor's Bullet Punch. Once it's brought onto the field, Seismitoad should attempt to set up Stealth Rock on a free turn due to its ability to force switches. However, if there's a Pokemon on the opposing team that could remove Stealth Rock from the field like Rotom-Mow or Hydreigon, Seismitoad should either attack accordingly or switch out. After setting up Stealth Rock, Seismitoad should focus on wallbreaking and weakening the opposing team by using its STAB and coverage moves appropriately. Sludge Wave should be used on a predicted switch to Pokemon like Celebi and the aforementioned Rotom-Mow, while Hidden Power Fire should only be used against Scizor, as it's too weak to be useful in any other scenario. Although it's immune to Water-type attacks thanks to Water Absorb, Seismitoad should not be recklessly switching into every potential attack, as most Water-type Pokemon can hit it very hard with a different move and bulky Water-types can cripple it with Toxic. As such, it should only switch into a Water-type attack if it's certain that the opponent will use one or from a Choice-locked Pokemon like Primarina or Volcanion. Seismitoad should be wary of Grass-type coverage such as Mega Manectric's Hidden Power Grass and Infernape's Grass Knot, as they can easily OHKO it. Avoid switching into a potential Knock Off, Toxic, or Will-O-Wisp because Seismitoad can be easily worn down, especially without its Leftovers, meaning sets utilizing Expert Belt have to be particularly cautious. Team Options Seismitoad fits best on offensive builds that benefit from its ability to reliably set up Stealth Rock without giving up momentum and keep threatening Pokemon like Swords Dance Scizor in check. U-turn and Volt Switch users like Mega Beedrill and Rotom-Mow pair well with Seismitoad for their ability to bring it safely onto the field. Dragon-types like Hydreigon and Latias have good synergy with Seismitoad, since they're able to check Grass-types like Celebi and provide a secondary check to Electric-types like Mega Manectric and Zeraora, which Seismitoad usually struggles to deal with on its own. In return, Seismitoad is able to pressure Steel-types like Empoleon and Mega Aggron while also being able to revenge kill Scizor. Pokemon that can sponge Grass-type attacks such as Rotom-Heat and Moltres make good teammates for Seismitoad as well, as it's heavily threatened by them. Dragon-type Pokemon like Latias and Hydreigon can switch into Seismitoad with ease and hit it hard with one of their STAB moves. As such, Dragon-type checks such as Mega Altaria and Klefki pair well with Seismitoad. Other Fairy-types such as Togekiss, Sylveon, and Florges can also pivot into the likes of Hydreigon as well as provide Seismitoad with Heal Bell support, the latter two also being able to alleviate its lack of recovery with Wish support. Pursuit users such as Choice Band Scizor and Mega Aerodactyl also make great partners, as they can trap and remove Celebi and Latias for Seismitoad. Wallbreakers such as Terrakion and Infernape are able to threaten the special walls that try to tank Seismitoad's attacks, thus making them good partners.

Moves Hydro Pump is Seismitoad's strongest attack and should be used liberally to punish switch-ins such as Celesteela. Earth Power is a reliable Ground-type STAB attack for hitting targets that resist Hydro Pump such as Toxapex and Kyurem-B. Sludge Wave is mandatory coverage for hitting Azumarill and can KO it through Light Screen after it has used Belly Drum. Scald is a more reliable Water-type STAB move that has the additional benefit of potentially burning targets. Grass Knot is an option over Scald for hitting bulky Water-types such as Swampert and opposing Water-immune foes such as Gastrodon and opposing Seismitoad. Focus Blast is an option over Scald for hitting specific switch-ins such as Ferrothorn and Trace Porygon2. It also secures a 2HKO versus Chansey once Eviolite has been removed with Stealth Rock up. Set Details Maximum Special Attack investment with Choice Specs gives Seismitoad the power to break through walls such as Skarmory. Maximum Speed investment with a Timid nature allows Seismitoad to outspeed all Azumarill sets as well as key defensive threats such as Gliscor and defensive Garchomp. The leftovers 4 EVs are invested in Special Defense to deny Download users Special Attack boosts. Water Absorb offers Seismitoad an immunity to Water-type attacks that lets it check threats to the team such as Kingdra and Azumarill. Usage Tips Seismitoad should be used as a wallbreaker to break through defensive threats to Ground such as Skarmory and Gliscor. Make use of Seismitoad's immunity to Water-type moves and neutrality to Ice-type moves to switch into Pokemon that rely on these attacks such as Volcanion and Toxapex, providing Seismitoad the opportunity to launch off powerful attacks. Take care to preserve Seismitoad's health and avoid excess damage from entry hazards or status in matchups where Water Absorb is needed to check Water-types threats as Azumarill or Keldeo. Be careful of Pokemon that can effectively run Grass-type coverage such as Grass Knot Tapu Koko. Use Scald instead of Hydro Pump when the latter's power is not necessary for the reliable accuracy and additional burn chance, which can pester defensive switch-ins such as Mega Venusaur and Ferrothorn. Team Options Every Pokemon on Ground appreciates Seismitoad's ability to switch into Water-type attacks and break physical walls such as Skarmory for the team. Hippowdon is a bulky sand setter that can take pressure off of Seismitoad to manage offensive threats whilst wearing down its switch-ins with sand and Stealth Rock. Excadrill takes advantage of the holes Seismitoad punches in defensive cores to clean as a powerful sand sweeper whilst supporting Seismitoad in matchups it struggles in such as Dragon and Fairy. Landorus is a complementary special wallbreaker to Seismitoad that provides valuable Gravity support for exposing threats such as Celesteela and Rotom-Wash. Its access to Knock Off also lets Seismitoad apply more pressure on the Normal defensive core once their Eviolites have been removed. Dugtrio serves as an excellent trapper for Pokemon that check or wall Seismitoad such as Chansey and Celesteela, with Gravity support in the latter's case. It also appreciates Seismitoad's ability to weaken Pokemon into the range where Dugtrio can come in and trap them. Garchomp is a potent Z-Move sweeper that appreciates Seismitoad's ability to weaken physically defensive walls such as Skarmory and Hippowdon. In turn, Garchomp can break special walls that beat Seismitoad such as Zapdos. Mamoswine is another powerful physical wallbreaker that can threaten the Flying- and Dragon-types that wall Seismitoad such as Mega Latias, Mantine, and Zapdos.

Moves Scald is Seismitoad’s most spammable STAB move and is good for fishing for burns in order to neutralize physical attackers such as Dragonite. Earth Power is a reliable Ground-type STAB attack useful for hitting Water-resistant targets such as Toxapex and Empoleon. Sludge Wave is Poison-type coverage necessary so that Seismitoad can check Azumarill after it has used Belly Drum. Knock Off is useful for crippling offensive and defensive Pokemon such as Latios and Chansey by removing items like Choice Scarf and Eviolite. Set Details Maximum Special Attack investment with a Modest nature lets Seismitoad hit as hard as possible. 140 Speed EVs allow Seismitoad to outspeed all Azumarill sets, guaranteeing Seismitoad can check it. The remaining EVs go into HP to improve Seismitoad's bulk so that it can more reliably check threats. Assault Vest provides Seismitoad with the bulk necessary to tank attacks from powerful special attackers such as Kyurem-B. Water Absorb allows Seismitoad to absorb Water-type attacks for the team from threats such as Keldeo. Usage Tips Seismitoad should typically be switched in on special attackers that threaten the team, such as Greninja. Seismitoad's immunity to Water-type moves and neutrality to Ice-type moves provide opportunities to switch in against threats such as Volcanion and defensive Water-types such as Toxapex. Be careful to preserve Seismitoad in matchups where it is needed to check powerful Water-types that threaten the team such as Azumarill and Keldeo. Take care to avoid status, as without any recovery, both poison and burn reduce Seismitoad's longevity over a battle. Entry hazards will also greatly reduce Seismitoad's presence in a battle and how often it can pivot into and out of attacks. When damage output isn't a concern, prioritize spreading burns using Scald or removing items from defensive and offensive threats using Knock Off, such as Choice Scarf from Heracross and Eviolite from Porygon2. Team Options Every Pokemon on Ground appreciates Seismitoad's capacity to switch into powerful special attacks and sponge Water- and Ice-type moves. Hippowdon is an essential sand setter for Ground teams that also serves as a physical wall to complement Seismitoad's special bulk. It also serves as an effective entry hazard setter and phazer. Excadrill is a powerful sand sweeper and offensive check to threats that Seismitoad cannot manage such as Latios. Rapid Spin can also help Seismitoad avoid getting outsped by Azumarill due to Sticky Web in the Fairy matchup. Garchomp and Mamoswine are powerful physical wallbreakers that can threaten both the physical and special walls that Seismitoad cannot break such as Cradily, Zapdos, and Mantine. Mamoswine also offers a secondary Ice resist. Garchomp also serves as an effective setup sweeper that can break apart defensive cores using Swords Dance and a Z-Move. Landorus is an excellent special attacker that can break the many walls that threaten Seismitoad and Ground as a whole, such as Mega Venusaur and Ferrothorn. Its access to Gravity also allows Seismitoad to put more offensive pressure on walls such as Zapdos. Dugtrio offers powerful offensive utility to Ground teams by trapping and removing threats such as Mega Diancie, Alolan Raichu, and Kyurem-B with its ability Arena Trap. Guaranteeing the removal of these Pokemon allows Seismitoad to be preserved to check other threats.

戰術分析
Moves Hydro Pump is Seismitoad's primary STAB move, and when coupled with the boost from Life Orb, Modest nature, and presence of rain, is able to hit neutral target incredibly hard, even being able to 2HKO Zapdos and Celesteela. Scald may be used over Hydro Pump, as it is much more reliable due to its accuracy and PP as well as its chance to cripple physical attackers with a burn. However, there is a significant loss in power, and Scald makes Seismitoad miss out on some important KOs, such as missing out on the 2HKO against Zapdos and Celesteela in rain. Earth Power is a secondary STAB move that allows Seismitoad to reliably hit Electric- and Steel-types without having to depend on an inaccurate Hydro Pump. Sludge Wave is a coverage move that allows Seismitoad to hit Fairy- and Grass-types for super effective damage; notable targets are Tapu Bulu, Tapu Fini, Azumarill, and Breloom. Stealth Rock takes advantage of Seismitoad's ability to force switches, pressuring the opponent on switches as well as making it easier for Seismitoad and the rest of the team to sweep. Knock Off is an optional coverage move that also has great utility in removing the target's item. It also lets Seismitoad hit Latios and remove Chansey's Eviolite, making it easier for the rest of the team to deal with. Set Details Maximum investment in Speed and Special Attack along with a Timid nature maximize its offensive presence. 4 EVs in Special Defense ensure that Porygon-Z gets the boost in Attack from Download instead of in Special Attack. Swift Swim doubles Seismitoad's Speed in rain, allowing it to outspeed almost the entire unboosted metagame and most of the boosted metagame. A Timid nature is used for a bit more Speed at the cost of a bit of power. Most notably, it allows Seismitoad to outspeed Tapu Bulu outside of rain. A Modest nature may be used to increase its damage output; however, this may leave it vulnerable to the aforementioned threats. Life Orb grants Seismitoad an increase in damage output, helping it secure the 2HKO against Celesteela and Zapdos. Usage Tips Seismitoad is best brought in on a predicted Electric-type move or with a slow U-turn from Pelipper after it sets rain. Feel free to use Hydro Pump liberally in rain unless the target resists or is immune to it. However, its low PP must be kept in mind so as to not waste it unnecessarily. Using Stealth Rock in rain would waste a turn of rain, which may prove to be detrimental. It may, however, be used as a lead to set up Stealth Rock early and dedicate turns with rain to purely dealing damage. Try to preserve Seismitoad against an Electric-type team, as it prevents the opponents from being able to freely use Electric-type moves without having to worry about giving Seismitoad a free opportunity to switch in. It is best to switch out Seismitoad if rain is no longer on the field, as its lackluster Speed and offensive presence without rain makes it very easy to revenge kill. Outside of rain, it should mostly be limited to setting up Stealth Rock. Against Fairy-type teams, Sludge Wave may be used more frequently to prevent Tapu Bulu from being able to switch into it, especially in the absence of rain, where it outspeeds Seismitoad. It can also be used to prevent Tapu Fini from switching in and removing entry hazards with Defog. It is advisable to keep Seismitoad away from Toxic, poison, and burns, as its longevity is reduced by a lot when combined with the recoil from Life Orb. Stealth Rock should usually be set when Seismitoad forces a target to switch fearing a Hydro Pump, especially in rain, as its high Speed in rain would give it a good chance of outspeeding and KOing a hazard remover before it has time to use Defog or Rapid Spin. Knock Off is to be used against walls and Choice item users when it can't do enough damage on its own or in the absence of rain. This makes them easier for rest of the team to deal with. Team Options Pelipper is the most important teammate for Seismitoad, as it sets rain upon switching in with Drizzle. It also serves as a Grass-neutrality and Defogger, getting rid of annoying hazards as well as threatening slower Grass-types with a 100% accurate Hurricane. It is also capable of safely bringing in Seismitoad after setting rain with a slow U-turn. Politoed may be used as an alternate rain setter with Drizzle. It also helps in deterring setup sweepers and acting as a stallbreaker with Encore and Perish Song. Kingdra is another Swift Swim sweeper that helps weaken shared checks with Seismitoad. Most notably, it is able to KO a weakened Mega Venusaur with Draco Meteor and is an excellent way to beat Dragon teams with Stealth Rock support from Seismitoad. Azumarill appreciates Seismitoad's ability to dent walls and weaken the opposing team as well as the chip damage from Stealth Rock, providing Azumarill with opportunities to set up Belly Drum. Azumarill is also able to check Pokemon like Ferrothorn and Cradily with Superpower and also threatens special walls like Chansey that Seismitoad has trouble getting past. Mega Sharpedo is another physical wallbreaker and late-game sweeper that takes advantage of Seismitoad's ability to punch holes in the opposing team and weaken it. It also has access to Psychic Fangs and can KO a weakened Mega Venusaur, which Seismitoad usually struggles with. Gyarados is an excellent check to Grass-type threats like Mega Venusaur. It is also able to set up relatively easily, and with Moxie, it is able to easily take out teams weakened by Seismitoad. Mega Gyarados, on the other hand, has a much easier time with bulky Psychic teams and is able to set up easier thanks to Intimidate. Gyarados appreciates Seismitoad's ability to take out Fairy- and Electric-type threats in return. Greninja is an excellent wallbreaker that can help check Pokemon that threaten Seismitoad with its wide range of coverage options to choose from. Ice Beam helps against Grass and Dragon teams, while Dark Pulse helps against bulky Psychic teams. It may even run Extrasensory to deal with Mega Venusaur or Rock Slide to check Mega Charizard Y. It appreciates Stealth Rock support from Seismitoad to grab important KOs and Seismitoad's ability to outspeed and KO prominent Choice Scarf users like Victini and Heracross, Electric-types like Tapu Koko, and naturally faster Pokemon like Mega Beedrill and Mega Alakazam under rain. Powerful special wallbreakers like Manaphy and Keldeo are able to break walls on the opposing team, making it easier for Seismitoad to clean up late-game.

Moves Seismitoad can find plenty of opportunities to set Stealth Rock up, as it can easily come in on Pokemon such as Electric-types that lack Grass coverage or Pokemon locked into weak or Water-type moves. Scald's chance to burn allows Seismitoad to cripple a lot of Pokemon that try to switch in, such as Breloom. Despite having a Bold nature, Earthquake is the preferred Ground-type STAB move on Seismitoad, as it prevents Seismitoad becoming setup bait for specially defensive Pokemon such as Substitute + Calm Mind Keldeo. Earthquake also does solid damage to Fire- and Steel-types such as Mega Charizard X, Heatran, and Mega Metagross. Knock Off can cripple Pokemon such as Chansey, Ferrothorn, and Rotom-W by removing their items. Toxic can severely shorten the longevity of setup sweepers such as Mega Charizard X, Mega Altaria lacking Heal Bell or Refresh, and Mega Gyarados, while also wearing down Grass-type switch-ins outside of Mega Venusaur and Ferrothorn. Set Details Maximizing Seismitoad's HP and Defense allows it to handle many threats in OU such as Victini, Mega Metagross lacking Grass Knot, and Tyranitar. 12 Speed EVs are used to ensure Seismitoad outspeeds Mega Scizor lacking Speed investment. Water Absorb is the best ability to use on Seismitoad, as it completely deters Pokemon such as Keldeo, Rotom-W, and Slowbro from spamming Water-type moves. Leftovers provides valuable recovery for Seismitoad, as it lacks any outside of Leftovers and Water Absorb. Usage Tips Stealth Rock should be used as soon as possible to punish switches, but only when Seismitoad is in a safe position. Seismitoad shouldn't be switched in repeatedly, as it has a lack of recovery and is easily worn down by entry hazards and powerful attacks. Scald is Seismitoad's most spammable move and should be used to weaken or cripple Pokemon with burn while Knock Off should be used against Pokemon that are item reliant, such as Chansey and Gliscor. Seismitoad can be used to pivot and gain momentum against threats such as Victini locked into Bolt Strike or Landorus-T locked into Stone Edge. Team Options Pokemon such as Talonflame, Mega Charizard Y, Volcarona, Scizor, and Mega Venusaur make for good partners, as they can handle the Grass-types that force Seismitoad out, while Seismitoad handles Rotom-W for Talonflame and Scizor. Fairy-types appreciate support from Seismitoad, as it can handle Steel-types such as Jirachi and Heatran. Volt Switch and U-turn users such as Rotom-W, Scizor, and Landorus-T can gain momentum for Seismitoad, allowing it to come in more easily and set up Stealth Rock. Scizor handles the Fairy-types that can give Seismitoad trouble such as Clefable and Mega Altaria, while Seismitoad takes on Heatran for Scizor. Steel-types such as Bisharp, Ferrothorn, and Skarmory are good partners because they have decent defensive synergy with Seismitoad. Bisharp punishes the use of Defog with Defiant, while Skarmory and Ferrothorn can set up Spikes. Jirachi can heal Seismitoad with Wish and deal with the Grass-types that beat Seismitoad, such as Mega Venusaur and Amoonguss. Seismitoad is a very useful Pokemon on sand teams as it can provide Stealth Rock and handle Rotom-W, which is a big problem for Sand Rush Excadrill.

Moves Hydro Pump is Seismitoad's main attacking move and is boosted even further when rain is up. Earth Power is weaker but more reliable. Sludge Wave allows Seismitoad to deal damage to Grass-types that resist its STAB combination. Focus Blast allows Seismitoad to break past Ferrothorn, which resists its Water, Ground, and Poison coverage, though it has unreliable accuracy. Knock Off can be used over Focus Blast to deal a lot of damage to Latios and Latias, as they can handle Hydro Pump and Sludge Wave and have an immunity to Earth Power. Knock Off also cripples Chansey by removing its Eviolite and gives Seismitoad a good chance to 2HKO it. Set Details The given EV spread maximizes Seismitoad's offensive capabilities while the Speed investment allows it to outspeed Choice Scarf Landorus-T and the remaining EVs are dumped into HP. Swift Swim is the only reason to use offensive Seismitoad, as it allows Seismitoad to become a very threatening sweeper in rain. Life Orb should be run to maximize damage output, as Seismitoad has a fairly low Special Attack stat. A Modest nature maximizes Seismitoad's Special Attack, but, a Rash nature should be run with Knock Off to allow Seismitoad to 2HKO Latios and Latias. Usage Tips Offensive Seismitoad should only be used on rain teams, as rain support makes Hydro Pump very powerful while allowing Seismitoad to outspeed the entire unboosted tier. Seismitoad acts as a late-game cleaner rather than a wallbreaker, and so should be used once specially defensive Pokemon have been weakened. Try to only use Seismitoad once rain is set up as it is very slow without the Swift Swim boost and can be easily beaten by faster threats. To get Seismitoad in safely, send it in on Fire- and Electric-type Pokemon that are Choice-locked or do not have any Grass-type coverage as it can take their moves easily and OHKO or force them out next turn. Aim to have entry hazards set before attempting to sweep with Seismitoad to break Focus Sashes and Sturdy and make it easier to net OHKOs. Seismitoad also appreciates VoltTurn support as it minimizes the damage it takes from coming in. Team Options Politoed is the best teammate for Seismitoad, as it can set up rain with Drizzle, which is absolutely necessary for Seismitoad to sweep. Manual rain setters such as Thundurus and Klefki are also great partners, while Klefki can put pressure on teams with Spikes. Entry Hazard support from Pokemon such as Ferrothorn, Skarmory, and Celebi are very useful for Seismitoad, as it helps it net OHKOs and 2HKOs more easily. All three work well in rain, as rain halves the damage they take from Fire-type moves. Seismitoad works well with other rain sweepers such as Kabutops and Mega Swampert as they can handle specially defensive Pokemon that trouble Seismitoad, while Seismitoad can break physically defensive Pokemon that trouble Mega Swampert and Kabutops. Pokemon that can switch into Grass-type moves, such as Tornadus-T and Thundurus, are very useful, as bulky Grass-types can beat Seismitoad under rain. Bulky Water-types can halt Seismitoad's sweep, so Electric-types such as Thundurus and Magnezone are also good teammates. Fighting-types such as Conkeldurr and Keldeo can threaten Chansey and Blissey, both of which are problems for Seismitoad. Conkeldurr can restore HP against them with Drain Punch, while Keldeo can take advantage of the rain.

Moves Seismitoad's ability to reliably get up Stealth Rock makes it essential on this set. Scald is one of the obligatory STAB moves, with an additional 30% chance to burn the foe. Earthquake is the secondary STAB move, hitting Registeel, Jolteon, Drapion, and Jellicent, and is preferred over Earth Power for its ability to OHKO Jolteon and deal more damage to Registeel. Alternatively, Toxic puts defensive walls, such as Alomomola, Slowking, Jellicent, and bulky Grass-types on a timer. Knock Off can cripple bulkier and offensive Pokemon alike by removing their item. Set Details Maximum HP and Defense investment is used with a Bold nature so that Seismitoad can take on physical attackers effectively by maximizing physical bulk. However, shifting some EVs to Special Defense is an option so Seismitoad can tank hits from Magneton and Diancie better. Water Absorb is used as the ability to deter opposing Pokemon from using Water-type attacks, allowing this set to function excellently against rain teams. Leftovers is used as the item to provide passive recovery. Usage Tips Switch Seismitoad into resisted moves or non-Choice Band physical attackers to set up Stealth Rock or spread status. Try to wear down opposing walls with Knock Off and Toxic to pave the way for a teammate to sweep late-game. Keep Seismitoad away from Grass-types, as they can all OHKO it, but if you have a dedicated Grass-resistant Pokemon of your own, your opponent might sometimes go for a different coverage option or double switch their Pokemon. However, high-risk plays such as leaving Seismitoad in should only be made if you would lose too much momentum or have a severe matchup disadvantage otherwise. Seismitoad can also stop VoltTurn cores by absorbing Volt Switch from the likes of Jolteon and Magneton, but be wary of a potential Hidden Power Grass from both. This set especially dislikes status, since it can quickly wear Seismitoad down and turn 3HKOs into 2HKOs, so keep it away from poison and burn. Team Options Garbodor is an excellent partner for its ability to switch into offensive Fighting- and Grass-types, absorb Toxic Spikes, and form a hazard-stacking core with Seismitoad. Emboar also synergizes well with it, dealing with Grass-types, notably Virizion, while Seismitoad can counter Fletchinder, one of Emboar's biggest checks, and absorb Water-type attacks while wearing down its checks and counters. Additionally, clerics, such as Aromatisse and Diancie, can heal Seismitoad of the status it despises. Pokemon vulnerable to common physical attackers, such as Hoopa, Malamar, and Venusaur, appreciate Seismitoad's ability to take on such attackers. Late-game sweepers and wallbreakers, such as Drapion, Virizion, and Braviary, appreciate the Stealth Rock support Seismitoad provides in wearing down their checks and counters.

Moves Scald is the obligatory STAB move, with a 30% chance to burn the foe, making it Seismitoad's best option for hitting physical attackers. Earth Power is the secondary STAB move, hitting Registeel and Diancie super effectively and Venusaur neutrally. Substitute allows Seismitoad to avoid detrimental status, scout a foe's moveset, and sometimes achieve more than one KO, as it can let Seismitoad easily take Pokemon that would otherwise cripple it, such as Alomomola, on one-on-one. Toxic is the preferred option in the last moveslot, crippling bulky Water- and Grass-types that like to switch in on Seismitoad more reliably than Scald. Finally, Endeavor is an option for Seismitoad to weaken or pick off slower Pokemon while behind its Substitute and can also put faster offensive threats in range of priority. Set Details Maximum Special Attack investment allows Seismitoad to deal as much damage as possible, and maximum Speed investment and a Timid nature allow it to put in a Substitute against most defensive Pokemon and outspeed threats such as Adamant Gallade, Sawk, Adamant Absol, Choice Specs Magneton, Substitute Braviary, and Choice Band Emboar. Leftovers is the preferred item the majority of the time, providing passive recovery, which is essential to maintaining Seismitoad's longevity behind a Substitute. Alternatively, Salac Berry allows it to function as a late-game sweeper once it can no longer put in Substitutes, as it allows it to outspeed Jolteon, Aerodactyl, Sneasel, and Choice Scarf Emboar. Water Absorb is used as the ability to ease switching in on opposing Water-types. Usage Tips Avoid switching Seismitoad in on potential status-inducing moves, which drastically decrease the effectiveness of this set, rendering Substitute practically useless. As such, bring it in on resisted hits or a predicted utility move, such as Wish or Stealth Rock. Set up Substitute on Pokemon that don't threaten Seismitoad; common examples are bulky Water-types and defensive walls that rely on status, such as Alomomola. A benefit of having maximum Speed investment is that this set can bluff a defensive spread, lure Choice Specs Magneton trying to go for Hidden Power Grass, and eliminate it with Earth Power. Team Options Water-, Ground-, and Rock-types, such as Alomomola, Flygon, and Diancie, make for good partners, as they appreciate Seismitoad's ability to lure Grass- and Water-types and threaten or eliminate them. Fletchinder especially benefits from this set's ability to weaken its common checks, notably Alomomola and Diancie. Pokemon like Venusaur, Garbodor, and Braviary that take on the Grass-types that force Seismitoad out also synergize well with it. Magneton is able to deal with Pokemon this set struggles to break, such as Golbat and Venusaur. Clerics such as Diancie, Mega Audino, and Aromatisse can heal this set of any status, which is especially detrimental to it. Mega Audino has the added bonus of being able to switch in on Venusaur before it Mega Evolves thanks to Regenerator.

Moves Stealth Rock provides entry hazard support that every team appreciates, and Seismitoad is a very reliable user of the move due to its good defenses and typing. Earthquake is a powerful STAB move that hits hard off of base 95 Attack even without investment, allowing Seismitoad to effectively counter the various Steel- and Poison-types in UU. Scald is an alternative STAB move that has a 30% chance to burn, helping to cripple physical attackers and whittle down the foe. Knock Off cripples threatening switch-ins and is another trait that sets Seismitoad apart from Swampert. Toxic is an alternative over Knock Off to spread status around and goes well with Seismitoad's ability to tank moves. Protect is another option to garner a free turn of Leftovers recovery, which Seismitoad will appreciate due to its lack of a form of reliable recovery. Set Details 200 HP EVs maximize Seismitoad's overall bulk and allow it to evenly restore HP with Leftovers. Maximum investment in Defense is needed so that Seismitoad can tank repeated hits from powerful sweepers such as Mega Aerodactyl, Darmanitan, and Feraligatr. A Relaxed nature boosts Seismitoad's Defense and lowers its unimportant Speed while preserving the power of its STAB moves. Leftovers increases Seismitoad's longevity and is important, as it lacks a form of reliable recovery. The remaining EVs are placed into Special Defense to round out Seismitoad's overall bulk. Seismitoad can also run a specially defensive spread of 200 HP / 56 Def / 252 SpD with a Sassy nature to better check Pokemon such as Mega Ampharos, offensive Suicune, and Chandelure. Usage Tips Aim to use Seismitoad's impressive bulk, resistances, and Water-type immunity in order to switch in and set up Stealth Rock to support your team. Seismitoad's excellent defensive typing makes it a great check to a lot of common offensive threats such as Mega Aerodactyl, Feraligatr, Cobalion, Darmanitan, Entei, and Tyrantrum. Water Absorb makes it immune to the ever-present Scald and allows it to take advantage of Pokemon such as Vaporeon, defensive Empoleon, Tentacruel, and Alomomola. Be sure to utilize Water Absorb and Knock Off, as they are unique traits that give Seismitoad an advantage over its Water / Ground type counterpart, Swampert. Team Options Seismitoad excels on balanced and defensive teams. Due to its inclination towards tanking physical hits and lack of reliable recovery, it partners extremely well with specially defensive Wish users such as Florges, Umbreon, and Blissey. Wish helps keep Seismitoad healthy and increases its walling potential. Powerful sweepers that benefit from entry hazard support, such as Mega Aerodactyl and Heracross, make for great teammates. Pokemon that synergize well defensively with Seismitoad, especially Grass-types such as Shaymin, Roserade, and Chesnaught, make for great partners. Roserade and Chesnaught can also set up Spikes to complement the Stealth Rock support Seismitoad provides. Fire-, Rock-, and Ground-types such as Darmanitan, Mega Aerodactyl, and Nidoqueen enjoy Seismitoad's ability to absorb Water-type attacks directed at them.

Moves Scald is one of Seismitoad's most reliable moves due to its decent Base Power and high chance to burn. Earth Power is Seismitoad's option for targeting Pokemon that resist its Scald such as Tentacruel and Kyurem-B. Grass Knot is great for hitting Water-type threats such as Swampert and Slowbro. Alternatively, Sludge Bomb can be used for hitting Grass- and Fairy-type Pokemon such as Serperior and Azumarill. Knock Off provides great utility by removing items such as Chansey's Eviolite and Ferrothorn's Leftovers. Set Details Maximum investment in Special Attack with a Modest nature allows Seismitoad to deal as much damage to its foes as possible. 16 EVs in Speed allow Seismitoad to outspeed 0 Speed Mega Scizor as well as Walrein and Lapras that Speed creep Mega Scizor. The remaining EVs are put in HP to maximize Seismitoad's bulk. Water Absorb gives Seismitoad a Water-type immunity and allows it to switch in on most Water-types that threaten the rest of the team. Assault Vest increases Seismitoad's Special Defense and allows it to take special hits better. Usage Tips Assault Vest allows Seismitoad to pivot into a variety of special attacks with ease, while Water Absorb grants immunity to Water-type attacks, allowing it to check Water-type threats to the entire team such as Slowbro. It does have to watch out for other moves Water-types might go for if they expect Seismitoad to come in, however. Although Seismitoad's bulk is outstanding with an Assault Vest and large investment in HP, it still lacks reliable recovery, so it can only take a few hits before being worn out. It can take advantage of Water-type attacks to heal up in order to remedy this. It's important to avoid letting Seismitoad get inflicted with status because this wears Seismitoad down easily and cripples its longevity. Entry hazards can be a major issue, as they take a toll on Seismitoad's pivoting potential, and a weakened Seismitoad is easily defeated. Even with its Assault Vest, foes with Grass-type attacks can almost always easily OHKO or severely damage Seismitoad, so they should be played around cautiously. Scald and Knock Off are both fantastic moves for hitting switch-ins, as Scald can burn opposing Pokemon and Knock Off can remove their items. They can both be spammed pretty safely to wear down checks. Team Options Offensive physical wallbreakers are necessary to work with Seismitoad, as many specially defensive walls shut it down. Wallbreakers also pair well with Seismitoad because they appreciate their checks having their items removed and being burned by Seismitoad. Landorus and Mega Garchomp are good examples of this, as they take out the walls that Seismitoad cannot touch such as Ferrothorn and Mega Venusaur. Hippowdon is a good physical wall to work with Seismitoad in a defensive core. It can set up Stealth Rock and can force out setup sweepers with Whirlwind. Hippowdon also comes with Sand Stream to boost Mega Garchomp's Earthquake or double Excadrill's Speed, which both help Seismitoad by providing physically offensive pressure. Gliscor is a notable defensive partner for Assault Vest Seismitoad, as it can alleviate Seismitoad's major Grass-type weakness. Gliscor is also a great stallbreaker that takes out most of the walls that can stop Seismitoad. Landorus-T is particularly useful, as it can work as a powerful physically offensive pivot with Intimidate to weaken physical attackers while also helping with Seismitoad's Grass-type weakness. Mamoswine is a good offensive teammate that can beat Grass- and Dragon-types that threaten Seismitoad, although it cannot switch into them. Excadrill appreciates Seismitoad's ability to switch in to Fire- and Water-type attacks while providing powerful wallbreaking power.

Moves Scald's ability to burn is particularly useful in breaking walls such as Porygon2 or Mew, along with crippling switch-ins that would normally counter it. Hydro Pump is a much stronger Water-type alternative; however, it lacks the ability to burn and has low accuracy, which are major drawbacks. Earth Power is Seismitoad's secondary STAB attack. It targets Pokemon that Scald doesn't do well against, such as Kyurem-B. Grass Knot is useful for taking on Water-types such as Swampert and Mega Gyarados. Sludge Wave targets Grass-types such as Whimsicott and Breloom that resist Seismitoad's other attacks, and Fairy-types such as Clefable and Azumarill. Set Details 228 EVs in Speed allow Seismitoad to outspeed Adamant Breloom and Adamant Bisharp and OHKO them, while also outspeeding and 2HKOing Zapdos after Stealth Rock damage. 4 EVs in Special Defense make Porygon2's Download boost Attack rather than Special Attack. Full investment in Special Attack with Choice Specs maximizes Seismitoad's damage output. The remaining EVs are put into HP to increase bulk. Water Absorb makes Seismitoad immune to Water-type attacks, allowing it to check Water-type threats such as Swampert and Rotom-W. An alternate spread of 152 HP / 252 SpA / 104 Spe can be used so Seismitoad has just enough Speed to outpace Jolly Crawdaunt as well as Adamant Azumarill. Usage Tips Seismitoad can switch in on Water-type attacks that threaten every other Pokemon on the team due to its immunity. However, it should be careful from other attacks the foe can go for if they predict Seismitoad to switch in. For example, Azumarill can punish Seismitoad with a Play Rough and Kingdra can go for Draco Meteor. Due to Seismitoad's lack of recovery, it's important to use it carefully and preserve its health in matchups where a Water-type switch-in is needed such as against Psychic teams with Slowbro. Avoid status because it cripples Seismitoad's longevity. In some matchups such as against Dark-type teams or Steel-type teams without Ferrothorn, Seismitoad can be used as a wallbreaker thanks to its Choice Specs because usually those types don't have solid resistances to Seismitoad's attacks. Team Options Seismitoad fits best on offensive teams that enjoy keeping up momentum. Seismitoad does not require much support defensively, as it is the one supporting the team by absorbing Water-type attacks and striking back with its offensive pressure. Most team options are instead to help Choice Specs Seismitoad's offensive wallbreaking capabilities. Mega Garchomp and Mega Camerupt help with Seismitoad's weakness to Grass-type attacks while Seismitoad can help with their Ice-type and Water-type weaknesses respectively. Mamoswine is a great partner due to its ability to check many Grass- and Dragon-type Pokemon that check Seismitoad such as Breloom and Latios, respectively. Excadrill is a great partner for Seismitoad because of its amazing wallbreaking capabilities and its ability to threaten specially defensive walls that Seismitoad has trouble getting past such as Chansey and Cradily. Hippowdon is a good teammate that appreciates Seismitoad's ability to switch into Water-type attacks. It also sets up Stealth Rock to put many foes such as Mega Gyarados and Zapdos into range of Seismitoad's powerful attacks. Landorus is useful as it can break walls that Seismitoad cannot such as Ferrothorn and Cradily. Together, they put a lot of pressure on the opposing team by weakening their shared checks over time. Landorus can also run Gravity, which helps Seismitoad break Flying teams with great ease, thanks to its powerful Earth Power.

戰術分析
Thanks to its excellent typing, useful ability, and good bulk, Seismitoad is extremely effective with a physically based defensive set. It matches up excellently against the most common users of Stealth Rock in the tier: Golem, Piloswine, Golurk, Regirock, and Armaldo, all of which are weak to its STAB moves and are physical attackers. In addition, their special bulk is average at best, meaning that Seismitoad can dispose of them easily with Scald. To truly appreciate just how effective Seismitoad is at taking on these Pokemon, it's only 3HKOed by Golurk, has a 25% chance to be 4HKOed by Golem, is 4HKOed by Piloswine, and is only 5HKOed by Armaldo, while Regirock cannot even touch it. These are all Pokemon with high Attack stats, generally full offensive investment, and powerful Earthquakes. Being physically based also makes Seismitoad the best counter to one of the most threatening Pokemon in the tier: Shell Smash Carracosta. However, Seismitoad is not limited to taking resisted hits; both Choice Band Sawk and Braviary fail to OHKO it even after Stealth Rock and Spikes damage, while Seismitoad can deal a powerful blow to Sawk's reduced defenses or potentially burn them both with Scald. Stealth Rock is an obvious choice on a Pokemon that matches up so well against the other Pokemon that set it up and outspeeds all of them even with a Relaxed nature. Major threats such as Braviary, Charizard, and Mandibuzz hate having to lose so much of their HP when they switch in, and Seismitoad is extremely reliable at ensuring this happens. Scald is the obligatory STAB move of choice on a defensive Water-type Pokemon such as Seismitoad, and the relatively high chance to burn the opponent makes Seismitoad even more of a full stop to physical attackers. Earth Power is used in the third slot to hit Pokemon such as Garbodor hard. The last slot is fairly variable. Toxic is the recommended choice, as bulky Grass-types, such as Serperior and Ludicolo, love to switch into Seismitoad but absolutely despise being badly poisoned. It's also an excellent way to wear down other bulky Water-types, such as Alomomola. Knock Off is a more colorful option that can be used to scout potential sets based on the opponent's item and is very handy for crippling the many Eviolite users that reside in the tier. Protect is another possible move to use in the last slot. It enables Seismitoad to regain more HP from Leftovers and again allows you to scout effectively and react accordingly. More specifically, it allows Seismitoad to check for any random Hidden Power Grasses or Grass Knots from the likes of Samurott and opposing Seismitoad. It's especially lethal if Seismitoad is paired with a Toxic Spikes user, as the extra turns to whittle the opponent's HP can be crucial. The EVs on this set are fairly specific. Defense is maximized so that Seismitoad can take on the threats it's supposed to counter with maximum efficiency, while 200 HP EVs hit a Leftovers number. The 56 EVs in Special Defense ensure that Seismitoad is never OHKOed by Hidden Power Grass from Life Orb Zebstrika and Electrode. It even has a good chance to avoid the OHKO after Stealth Rock damage and can proceed to OHKO both of them in return with Earth Power. A specially defensive EV spread is viable and helps Seismitoad better check the likes of Electric-types. but it loses the ability to beat opposing Stealth Rock leads as well as Shell Smash Carracosta. Some Speed EVs are also an option, with 24 coupled with either a Bold nature allowing Seismitoad to outspeed maximum Speed Golem, but this detracts from Seismitoad's bulk. Ideal teammates for Seismitoad will be able to switch into the Grass-type attacks targeted at it with little to no risk. Sap Sipper Pokemon, such as Miltank and Sawsbuck, can gain a boost to their Attack for free and then do as they please. Roselia has excellent defensive synergy with Seismitoad, as it takes next to nothing from Grass-type attacks and can strike back at their users with its STAB Sludge Bomb. It also handles special threats akin to how Seismitoad takes care of physical ones and has the ability to set up additional entry hazards. Metang is another solid choice for a teammate, with the two covering each other's weaknesses nicely and Metang's access to Stealth Rock freeing Seismitoad to use another move in lieu of it. Flying-types are also good partners, as they can switch in on Grass-types easily and immediately threaten them with their STAB moves. Articuno, Braviary, and Charizard are notable examples, as Articuno has the sheer bulk and STAB combination to beat practically any Grass-type, Braviary can use them as setup fodder, and Charizard sports a quadruple resistance to Grass, while Seismitoad also covers all of Charizard's weaknesses perfectly. Other than that, it's really Seismitoad who supports the team and not the other way around.

戰術分析
This is the most offensive approach to Seismitoad you can take and is its best shot at sweeping. While it might have inferior offensive stats and a narrower offensive movepool than other Swift Swim sweepers such as Gorebyss and Ludicolo, Seismitoad has two qualities that set it apart from its competition: an immunity to Electric and access to Stealth Rock. This can be key for many dedicated rain teams, who would often otherwise lack both. While there are often better choices for standalone rain sweepers, Seismitoad plays the role of both a supporter and a sweeper, and it pulls it off well. Rain Dance is the obvious focus of the set; doubling Seismitoad's Speed and significantly increasing its power is mandatory to begin its sweep. Also, because Seismitoad often finds itself paired up with other rain sweepers, they can often pick up each other's slack should one of them be taken down. Hydro Pump is the obvious Water STAB, hitting extremely hard when factoring in rain and the Life Orb boost. Earth Power is used to hit Garbodor & other Ground-weak Pokemon hard, though Earthquake is stronger against Roselia. Finally, Stealth Rock is an extremely useful move in the last slot, allowing Seismitoad to support its team and still be able to reliably sweep in the rain. As many rain teams often lack a Stealth Rock setter, it's also a massive selling point in that regard. That said, if your team does already have a Stealth Rock setter, Sludge Bomb provides great coverage alongside Seismitoad's STABs, notably hitting Grass-types for super effective damage. With maximum Speed investment, Seismitoad can outspeed everything up to +1 base 100 Speed Pokemon in the rain, and the rest of the EVs emphasize on power. A Modest nature is used to maximize Seismitoad's offensive power, though if Earthquake is used a Mild nature & 4 Attack EVs are recommended to secure a 2HKO on Roselia with Earthquake. Surf continues the never-ending debate of power vs. accuracy; in this case, however, the power of Hydro Pump has priority as Seismitoad is not the strongest attacker around. Finally, if Life Orb's recoil doesn't appeal to you, Damp Rock and Leftovers are viable alternatives. Both have unique traits surrounding them, with the former extending rain turns and the latter increasing longevity. The power boost from Life Orb is far more important, though, and as this set plays a bit more recklessly than others, Life Orb recoil is often negligible. As stated before, this Seismitoad works best on dedicated rain teams thanks to its access to both Stealth Rock and Rain Dance, and its partners should reflect that. Articuno is a great way to deal with problematic Grass-types easily and also benefits from rain with a 100% accurate Hurricane & patching up its Fire weakness. Roselia and Vileplume also pair up with Seismitoad well; not only do they 4x resist Grass and can retaliate back with STAB Sludge Bomb, but they also enjoy the rain thanks to having their Fire weakness removed. Finally, Ludicolo is an excellent partner for this set, as it absolutely loves having both rain and Stealth Rock already set up when it enters the field and in general shares great offensive synergy with Seismitoad.

This set takes a more offensive approach to setting up Stealth Rock in order to take advantage of its excellent offensive typing, while still matching up brilliantly against opposing Stealth Rock leads. With the combination of its two STABs, Seismitoad is capable of taking down nearly every Stealth Rock lead in the tier barring the rare Torterra and Cradily, effectively turning it into a powerful anti-lead. While it certainly can't stomach Earthquakes as well as more defensive sets can, it really doesn't need to, as its higher offensive presence allows it to take down opposing leads in one or two hits. Stealth Rock is a staple on this set, as Seismitoad is such a reliable setter of it and can then follow up with a powerful attack. While Seismitoad does somewhat lack power, Hydro Pump's high Base Power more than makes up for this, making quick work of common leads such as Golurk, Golem, Piloswine, Armaldo, and Regirock. Earth Power is Seismitoad's chosen Ground STAB, notably hitting Steel-types such as Metang, Probopass, and Bastiodon, none of which can do much in return. Finally, the last moveslot is generally reserved for Toxic, deterring bulky walls and Grass-types from switching in, as the chip damage can go a long way in ensuring one doesn't get swept by the likes of Ludicolo and Serperior. Grass Knot, on the other hand, is a viable coverage move that adds to Seismitoad's ability as an anti-lead; while it doesn't appear to provide much in coverage, it punishes opposing Seismitoad, which in itself makes it viable. Aside from that, though, Toxic is the more useful choice. The given EV spread allows Seismitoad to outspeed maximum Speed Golem, maximizes power, and puts the rest into bulk to give it a bit more longevity. Maximum Speed investment can be used, but as Seismitoad's main goal is to take down opposing Stealth Rock leads, it isn't necessary. Leftovers further capitalizes on Seismitoad's good natural bulk, allowing it to take random hits with less pressure. To players who are less conservative and more focused on OHKOing certain leads, Expert Belt is an interesting item choice to consider; this makes Seismitoad capable of OHKOing standard Piloswine with Hydro Pump. This especially comes in handy when using Grass Knot, allowing Seismitoad to OHKO opposing bulky Seismitoad. On that note, Life Orb is an even more offensive approach that powers up all of Seismitoad's attacks; this, however, does not bring any notable KOs along with it, and it detracts from Seismitoad's tanking abilities. The fourth moveslot can also vary somewhat from Toxic and Grass Knot, with some honorable mentions including Hidden Power Ice and Sludge Bomb. Hidden Power Ice is most notable for hitting Torterra and Cradily, the two Stealth Rock leads Seismitoad is not capable of beating otherwise, for super effective damage. While it does improve Seismitoad's coverage quite a bit, neither of these Pokemon are common enough to warrant its use, and it still fails to 2HKO Cradily anyway. Sludge Bomb also provides decent coverage, most notably against Ludicolo. However, this does not help Seismitoad achieve any KOs against opposing leads, and it shouldn't be staying in on Ludicolo anyway. Seismitoad can set up Stealth Rock, prevent the opponent from setting up their own Stealth Rock, and easily dispose of its common setters. Because of this, any Pokemon that can take advantage of all of this is a quality partner. Braviary and Charizard are some of the best examples of this, all handily appreciating Seismitoad's services and in return easily dealing with Grass-types, foes which Seismitoad quickly falls to. This set finds its home mainly on offensive teams that enjoy the Stealth Rock support it provides without losing momentum. Seismitoad does not outstall the opponent through sheer bulk like defensive sets do; it uses its natural bulk to tank one or two hits and its greater power to make KOing them easier.

Moves Scald's most important function is fishing for burns, which lets Seismitoad not be entry hazard fodder for Skarmory and Ferrothorn, since they hate being burned on the switch. Refresh is what makes Seismitoad so valuable, since negating Toxic, Toxic Spikes, and Will-O-Wisp allows Seismitoad to neutralize bulky Water-types like Rotom-W, Politoed, Tentacruel, Milotic, and defensive Starmie. The primary use of Protect is to stack Leftovers recovery and sand damage, but it also lets Seismitoad scout Choice-locked Pokemon like Latios, Tyranitar, and Garchomp. Stealth Rock is an amazing option, as Seismitoad can pressure all spinners with the combination of Scald + Refresh and free up a moveslot for its teammates. Alternatively, Knock Off can make progress by removing items, making foes like Ferrothorn, Refresh Politoed, and opposing Seismitoad unable to regain health with Leftovers. Earthquake can be used to damage other Water-types—especially Keldeo, break Kyurem's Substitute, OHKO Heatran if it's not maximum HP, and damage Toxicroak. However, it lacks any other important targets, since Seismitoad has mediocre offensive stats, and forces it to run a Relaxed nature. Toxic can also be used in the last moveslot to deal with other Water-immune Pokemon, like Gastrodon and Jellicent, and to not be overly dependent on Scald burns to make progress. Dropping Protect for another support move is possible but never recommended, since losing the stability it provides alongside Leftovers hurts Seismitoad a lot in the long run. Set Details 28 Speed EVs are used to outspeed standard specially defensive Heatran. 248 HP and 232 Defense EVs with a Bold nature prevent Seismitoad from being 2HKOed by Jolly Sand Force Excadrill's Earthquake after Protect. If running Earthquake, use 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SpD with a Relaxed nature. Usage Tips Do not waste any opportunity to bring Seismitoad safely to the field, since almost every team has a bulky Water-type. Spam Scald against Pokemon like Ferrothorn, Skarmory, Jirachi, and Tentacruel, as burns are the main way for Seismitoad to threaten them. Use Refresh as soon as Seismitoad gets inflicted with status so to not waste any HP. Do not let common Substitute users go unpunished, as Seismitoad attracts them, oftentimes being unable to break the Substitute of Pokemon like Breloom and Keldeo. Going for Scald to burn the foe or outright switching to achieve an advantageous position is best in these scenarios. Avoid using Protect too predictably. If using Stealth Rock, bring Seismitoad in as soon as possible to set it up. If using Knock Off, do not be afraid to predict switches, since its best targets in Ferrothorn, Latios, Jellicent, and Reuniclus love to switch into Seismitoad. Refresh, Stealth Rock, and Knock Off are Seismitoad's advantages over Gastrodon, so it should use them to their fullest. Team Options Since Seismitoad loves the chip damage sand provides, Tyranitar is one of its best partners, and it also Pursuit traps problematic Psychic-types like Latios and Reuniclus. Pokemon that can deal with Ferrothorn like Heatran, Breloom, Magnezone, and Xatu are a must, since Ferrothorn can use Seismitoad as entry hazard fodder. Xatu especially is an amazing partner for an anti-metagame core, shutting down entry hazard stacking and helping Seismitoad with Reflect support. Magnezone invalidates any free switch in that Ferrothorn or Skarmory tries to grab versus Seismitoad. Because Seismitoad is a bit passive, it loves having Spikes support from Pokemon like Ferrothorn and Skarmory. Offensive Pokemon that can benefit from Seismitoad's ability to nullify Rotom-W like Excadrill, Mamoswine, and Garchomp are also amazing partners. Pokemon that have ways to deal with Reuniclus like Latios, Scizor, Encore Alakazam, and Nasty Plot Celebi are needed on the team. Bulky Flying-types like Landorus-T, Gliscor, and Skarmory can help deal with Adamant Excadrill. Seismitoad can be used in rain structures to neuter Rotom-W, which is normally a nightmare for rain teams. In those, partners like Gyarados, Tentacruel, Scizor, Breloom, Latios, Latias, and Jirachi are good options.

戰術分析
This set takes advantage of Water Absorb and Seismitoad's good typing to make it a great check to Water-types, as well as a lure to Grass-types and other Pokemon that would naturally switch in on Seismitoad. Substitute allows Seismitoad to avoid any kind of status that might hinder it, while it also acts as a buffer against attacks that would KO it, giving Seismitoad a chance to potentially KO Pokemon such as Sceptile and Moltres. Setting up a Substitute isn't impossible either, as Seismitoad will cause a lot of switching against Pokemon like Lanturn, Magneton, and Kabutops. Earth Power will be Seismitoad's most useful STAB move, as with it Seismitoad can OHKO Kabutops, Magneton, and Omastar, while dealing a good chunk of damage to Pokemon such as Lanturn. Surf provides a great secondary STAB move for Seismitoad to use against Pokemon that resist Earth Power, and will hit Pokemon like Entei and Steelix a bit harder. Sludge Bomb gives Seismitoad something to hit Grass-types, mostly slower ones such as Tangrowth, but it can also help KO faster ones such as Lilligant and Sceptile if Seismitoad has a Substitute up. A 30% chance to poison the foe is really nice too, as it can make Pokemon like Slowking easier to deal with. However, Toxic is a better option if you want a more reliable way to deal with Pokemon such as Alomomola, Cryogonal, and the aforementioned Slowking. This does, however, make Seismitoad more susceptible to Grass-types. Hydro Pump can be used over Surf for a more powerful STAB move, but beware of the lowered accuracy. In the same vein, Sludge Wave can be used over Sludge Bomb for slightly more power, but Sludge Bomb's 30% chance to poison the foe is preferred over Sludge Wave's 10% and five points higher Base Power. The EV spread and the Timid nature are used to allow Seismitoad to outspeed Adamant Kabutops by one point. This makes it so that Seismitoad can OHKO Kabutops before taking any unnecessary damage. As this set is meant to be used as a way to deal with Water-types, Pokemon that have trouble with them should be paired with Seismitoad. Durant has serious trouble with Qwilfish as its Intimidate and Thunder Wave can severely cripple Durant. Seismitoad should have no trouble KOing Qwilfish with Earth Power, giving Durant a big opening for a sweep. Seismitoad can also take care of Steelix, another Pokemon that gives Durant trouble. Fire-types that have trouble with Kabutops and Lanturn, such as Entei and Moltres, appreciate Seismitoad's help. Seismitoad should be immune to or resist both Pokemon's commonly used moves, and can proceed to KO them with ease; Lanturn might be using Ice Beam at times. Slowking is also a common switch-in to Seismitoad, meaning that Seismitoad can either poison it with Toxic or switch to a teammate such as Spiritomb, Escavalier, or Absol with no worries and trap Slowking with Pursuit mindgames. Seismitoad will also lure out Grass-types, which could give Fire-types, Pokemon such as Druddigon and Escavalier, and Sap Sipper Pokemon like Sawsbuck a free switch in and an opportunity to set up. Grass-types such as Lilligant can also take advantage of this.

This is Seismitoad's best bet on the offensive. Seismitoad as a rain sweeper is pretty straightforward, but it has a key difference from other Swift Swim Sweepers. Its Ground typing makes Seismitoad immune to Electric-type moves. Not only does it remove a weakness to the type, but also keeps Seismitoad from being paralyzed by Thunder Wave, something that would otherwise stop any Pokemon from sweeping through a team. Hydro Pump gives Seismitoad much-needed power, as Surf does not cut it. This is the move Seismitoad will most likely use the most in the rain, as it will OHKO nearly everything that doesn't resist it. Earth Power adds a secondary STAB move for Seismitoad to use, and it will dent most things that resist Hydro Pump. Sludge Wave rounds out Seismitoad's coverage, as it allows Seismitoad to hit Grass-types that resist its STAB moves. Sludge Wave will OHKO every Grass-type bar Amoonguss; the chances of Sceptile, Lilligant, and Rotom-C surviving it are really slim. When it comes to Seismitoad's final move, it really depends on how the rest of the team is shaped, although it shouldn't matter much which move you pick. Rain Dance is the slightly more useful choice. Rain Dance allows Seismitoad to keep its sweep going without switching to another Pokemon; however, Grass Knot does allow Seismitoad to hit certain threats, such as Slowking and Poliwrath, slightly harder than with Earth Power. Surf can be used over Hydro Pump for a more consistent move with more PP, but the power drop is noticeable as OHKOs against the likes of Escavalier are turned into 2HKOs, so keep that in mind. Focus Blast can be used as a faster way to take down Ferroseed, as it is immune to Sludge Wave. However, Ferroseed can't do much back to Seismitoad as Thunder Wave doesn't affect it and Seismitoad resists Gyro Ball, so Earth Power is usually enough to break through Ferroseed. When it comes to teammates, Seismitoad only needs help with a few things. The first are teammates that can set up rain. Uxie is one of the more consistent Pokemon to choose from, as it can usually set up rain twice or more thanks to its great bulk. On top of that, Uxie can also set up Stealth Rock. Rotom-C can also be effective in this role, as it helps in covering Seismitoad's Grass weakness while also taking care of Pokemon such as Poliwrath and Alomomola with little effort. Mesprit is a slightly less bulky version of Uxie, but brings a more offensive presence to the field with its higher attacking stats. Druddigon pairs well with Seismitoad as well, as its Dragon typing gives it a nice resistance to Grass-type moves while also having the ability to set up Stealth Rock that will help Seismitoad OHKO Escavalier with Hydro Pump in the rain. Druddigon can help in taking care of opposing Druddigon as well, as Seismitoad is only able to 2HKO them with Earth Power. Escavalier not only packs a nice Grass resistance, but has the ability to reliably take care of Slowking, one of the most problematic Pokemon for Seismitoad. Absol and Spiritomb are also good at this, but lack the same type synergy with Seismitoad. Other Electric-types besides Rotom-C, such as Manectric, Galvantula, and Rotom, make for good teammates as well, as they can easily deal with most Water-types in the tier, most notably Alomomola and Slowking.

戰術分析
Seismitoad makes for a solid defensive Pokemon due to its impressive bulk and good typing. Its Water / Ground typing gives it several good resistances and two useful immunities in combination with Water Absorb, allowing Seismitoad to check various threats in the tier such as Kabutops and Entei, while even walling the likes of Magneton and Lanturn. This gives Seismitoad many good opportunities to set up Stealth Rock. Scald is a great STAB for any defensive Water-type, as the high burn chance will greatly improve Seismitoad's survivability. Earth Power does not only provide a great secondary STAB move, allowing Seismitoad to hit Pokemon that resist Scald like Druddigon and Slowking harder, but is also crucial for its ability to deal with Lanturn so well. Toxic rounds out this set by giving Seismitoad a solid option for dealing with defensive threats such as Alomomola and the aforementioned Slowking a lot easier, as Earth Power will never be enough to beat them. Seismitoad's options are rather limited to what's already been mentioned. However, Knock Off can be useful to make Eviolite and Leftovers users easier to handle. Knock Off will be mostly used against Ferroseed and Tangrowth, but the occasional Misdreavus and Mandibuzz can be severely neutered by it. Protect can also be useful, as it can help Seismitoad recover more HP with Leftovers while it works great in tandem with Toxic when it comes to stalling the opponent. With the given spread, Seismitoad is able to outspeed Adamant Aggron with max Speed while it ties with Steel trapper Magneton that aim for the same Speed mark. Seismitoad can use a faster EV spread of 252 HP / 152 Def / 104 Spe to outspeed certain Pokemon so it can avoid taking an unnecessary hit before dealing one itself, while still retaining most of its bulk. 104 Speed EVs allows Seismitoad to outspeed neutral base 55 Speed Pokemon with max Speed, such as Modest Omastar, Adamant Bouffalant, and Adamant Crawdaunt. This is particularly useful for Pokemon like Omastar, as it means Seismitoad can KO or severely cripple them before they can set up. Seismitoad is also able to outspeed Qwilfish with no Speed investment, while hitting the same Speed as Qwilfish with 16 Speed EVs, as they aim to outspeed the same Pokemon. Seismitoad can also be specially defensive, but Grass is a commonly seen special attacking type meaning Seismitoad will be 2HKOed at worst by a number of Pokemon, so it's not recommended. Seismitoad's typing does bring a 4x weakness to Grass-type moves, so Pokemon that can deal with threats that use moves of this type make for great teammates. Fire-types, Emboar, Moltres, Entei, and Magmortar to be more specific, make for great answers to Grass-type Pokemon. They also pair well with Seismitoad as it can take care of most Water-types with ease, especially Kabutops, the most threatening one. Magmortar gets a special mention as it is immune to Spore and Sleep Powder thanks to Vital Spirit, making it the most effective answer to Grass-types like Amoonguss and Tangrowth. Adding a Grass-type to your team gives you a nice Fire / Water / Grass core; Amoonguss can become a good complement defensively, while Lilligant gives you a more offensive option. Sap Sipper Pokemon, most notably Bouffalant and Miltank, can also help against Grass-types and other Pokemon using Grass-type moves. Miltank also complements Seismitoad's physical defense with a specially defensive set. However, an offensive version of Miltank works just as well. Sawsbuck is another good candidate, especially since it can be a part of a Fire / Water / Grass core while being able to pass its Attack boosts with Baton Pass. While Seismitoad is bulky, there are a few Pokemon that can break through it with brute force. Gallade, Medicham, and Hitmonlee are Fighting-types that can do just that. This means Spiritomb pairs well with Seismitoad, especially a more specially defensive version, as it can break down these Fighting-types with relative ease. Spiritomb is also good at dealing with Slowking, and even Amoonguss if Spiritomb uses a RestTalk set, two Pokemon that can give Seismitoad a lot of trouble. Escavalier and Durant fall into this category as well. Again, Fire-types are the easiest solution, more specifically Choice Scarf Emboar. Choice Scarf Electric-types, in this case Manectric and Rotom-C who can run Fire-type moves, handle Durant as well. Using either of the three mentioned Pokemon makes Sceptile easier to deal with as well. When it comes to Pokemon that benefit from Seismitoad's support, it's pretty straightforward. Grass-types that fear the likes of Entei will greatly appreciate Seismitoad's typing. The same goes for physically frail Pokemon and Fire-types that fear Kabutops, and Steel- and Water-types that have trouble with Magneton and Lanturn.

This set aims to remedy Earth Power's lack of power. Surf and Hydro Pump are for STAB. Earthquake hits all opponents on the field, much like Surf, but from the physical side instead. Hidden Power Ice hits the Dragon- and Flying-types who resist Surf, while Grass Knot hits Water-types. Protect is used once again because of its multi-purpose uses in VGC. Mild nature is used so as to not lower Seismitoad's Attack and weaken Earthquake. Life Orb gives Seismitoad a boost to all its moves, but again, Sitrus Berry can be used instead for survivability. Unlike the previous set, this set demands an immune partner. Tornadus and Thundurus work best with this set, being immune to Earthquake and setting up rain. With Seismitoad having both Earthquake and Surf, Musharna makes the best partner, boosting Seismitoad's powerful spread attacks with Helping Hand and having Telepathy so as not to get hit.

Surf is Seismitoad's primary STAB move, dealing insane amounts of damage under rain. Hydro Pump gives Seismitoad even more power if you don't like hitting your teammate or being forced to have a partner immune to Surf. Hidden Power Ice hits Grass-types who resist Ground- and Water-types moves, as well as Hydreigon, who is immune to Ground-type moves. Grass Knot hits opposing Water-types like Jellicent and Samurott. Earth Power gives Seismitoad an extra STAB move, but it doesn't really hit anything that Surf and Grass Knot don't. Protect allows Seismitoad to stall out an opponent's Tailwind or Trick Room, or let its partner KO a Pokemon that threatens Seismitoad. Life Orb gives Seismitoad as much power as it can get, and with its fair bulk, it can afford the recoil. If you don't like this, however, a Sitrus Berry could be used for maximum survivability. The given EV spread allows Seismitoad to outspeed Scarf Terrakion in the rain, and the rest are put in HP to let it possibly take another crucial attack. This set does not function well without Rain Dance support, making Pokemon such as Tornadus or Thundurus good partners. Jellicent makes for an excellent partner to Seismitoad, getting healed by Seismitoad's Surf and taking out opposing Jellicent who ruin Seismitoad's day. Telepathy Musharna is also immune to Seismitoad's Surf, and can boost its power even further with Helping Hand.
