战术分析

Moves Defog clears all entry hazards from the field, letting Finneon's teammates switch in more easily. Scald is Finneon's STAB move that is capable of spreading burns, crippling physical attackers. U-turn allows Finneon to pivot safely into a teammate and gain momentum for the team. Lastly, Hidden Power Fighting OHKOes non-Eviolite Pawniard that could switch in on Defog to gain +2 Attack because of its Defiant ability. Set Details The EVs placed in both defensive stats along with a Bold nature provide Finneon with more bulk while hitting Eviolite-optimal numbers, with the investment inclined towards physical Defense to better fight common entry hazard setters like Onix and Dwebble. The remaining EVs are placed into HP, Special Attack, and Speed to bump up each by one point. Storm Drain is the preferred ability, giving Finneon more opportunities to switch in and boosting its Special Attack by one stage off opposing Water-type moves. Berry Juice gives Finneon a form of recovery once its HP goes under half, which it otherwise lacks. Eviolite, however, provides Finneon with considerably more bulk at the cost of recovery, allowing it to sponge hits better, such as Mienfoo's High Jump Kick and Focus Sash Abra's Psychic. An alternative EV spread of 124 HP / 152 Def / 232 Spe with a Timid nature maximizes Finneon's Speed stat, allowing it to outspeed Pawniard and Dwebble and Speed tie with Onix, while providing some physical bulk. Usage Tips Finneon can lead against or switch in on opposing entry hazard setters such as Onix and Dwebble, as it is able to beat them with Scald and remove their entry hazards with Defog. Finneon can be switched in on any Water-type attack thanks to its immunity, though its lack of recovery outside of Berry Juice means it shouldn't risk to switch into most attacks and be worn down from it. It should never switch in on Chinchou, which threatens Finneon with Volt Switch, and should scout Thunderbolt on Staryu before switching in on it. Defog is best used once entry hazard setters and spinners like Onix, Kabuto, and Staryu on the opposing team are gone, as your team can keep entry hazards up without taking any chip damage by the opponent's entry hazards. However, be careful of using Defog when the opponent has a Pawniard, as its Defiant ability boosts its Attack sharply; nailing the switch-in with Hidden Power Fighting can ease the use of Defog. Finneon should use U-turn after it has cleared entry hazards, which allows it to safely bring in a teammate and provide momentum. Team Options Flying- and Fire-types such as Doduo, Rufflet, and Ponyta appreciate Finneon's ability to remove entry hazards from the field and in turn are able to combat Grass-types that counter Finneon, with Fire-types being able to lure in Water-type moves for Finneon to switch into. Sturdy users such as Onix, Tirtouga, and Magnemite also benefit from Finneon's ability to clear entry hazards, which deal chip damage that breaks Sturdy. Setup sweepers like Shellder, Vullaby, and Pawniard appreciate being brought in safely by Finneon's U-turn. Diglett is a great partner, as it can trap Electric-types that check Finneon, while it can pivot Diglett in safely with U-turn as well as clear entry hazards for Focus Sash variants. Grass-types such as Foongus, Snivy, and Pumpkaboo-XL synergize well with Finneon, as they provide Grass- and Electric-type resistances, while Finneon resists Fire- and Ice-type moves. Other U-turn and Volt Switch users such as Mienfoo, Chinchou, and Vullaby can switch Finneon in safely, as it doesn't like being worn down by hits, and can complete a VoltTurn core.
