Moves Hydro Pump is Lapras's most powerful Water-type STAB attack, capable of breaking through Fire-types like Torkoal and Heatran. Freeze-Dry is the preferred Ice-type STAB attack, as it hits Water-types like Swampert, Slowbro, and Toxapex. Hidden Power Fire is essential for hitting Steel-types like Mega Scizor and Ferrothorn. Surf is the Water-type STAB attack used for consistency and to confirm KOs when Hydro Pump's power isn't needed. Set Details Maximum investment in Special Attack with a Modest nature and Choice Specs lets Lapras hit as hard as possible. 176 EVs in Speed are used to outspeed Azumarill and defensive Mega Scizor. The remaining EVs are put into HP to increase Lapras's overall bulk and let it survive a +4 Bullet Punch from defensive Mega Scizor from full health. Choice Specs further increases Lapras's Special Attack, turning it into a decent wallbreaker. Water Absorb grants Lapras an immunity to Water-type attacks, allowing it to safely switch into Water-types like Toxapex and Mantine. Usage Tips Try sending out Lapras early-game to wallbreak against Fire-, Water-, and Steel-types. Make sure to keep Stealth Rock off the field as often as possible, since it wears down Lapras very quickly. Preserve Lapras's health so that it can take hits from Mega Scizor more effectively; for example, don't directly switch into neutral attacks from Excadrill and Heatran. Switch in Lapras against predicted Water-type attacks to restore its health. Additionally, Water Absorb can give Lapras safe switches against bulky Water-types like Toxapex and Mantine. Only use Hydro Pump when there is an important wall that Lapras needs to break through, such as Tyranitar or Mega Sableye. In most other situations, Surf's consistency is more important. Team Options Kyurem-B is capable of breaking through specially defensive Pokemon that Lapras can't beat, such as Chansey and Alolan Muk, as well as being able to target Water-types that don't take much damage from Freeze-Dry like Volcanion and Empoleon. In return, Lapras can hit Water / Ground types that are immune to Fusion Bolt like Swampert and Seismitoad. Alolan Ninetales can set up Aurora Veil, allowing Lapras to survive more hits. It can also check Fighting-types like Keldeo and Terrakion with Moonblast. Mamoswine can set up Stealth Rock to chip down foes throughout the battle to help Lapras wallbreak more easily. It can also switch into Electric-type attacks, while Lapras switches into Water-type attacks in return. Piloswine can also set up Stealth Rock, switch into Electric-type attacks, handle special attacks from Nihilego and Heatran in order to keep Lapras from taking unnecessary damage, and phaze setup sweepers such as Mew and Mega Latias with Roar. Avalugg and Rotom-F can remove entry hazards to keep Lapras healthy. Avalugg can switch into Fighting-types like Terrakion and Heracross, while Rotom-F can use Will-O-Wisp to cripple Mega Scizor so Lapras can safely switch into it. Rotom-F can also slowly pivot with Volt Switch to bring in Lapras safely. Alolan Sandslash can both remove entry hazards with Rapid Spin and check Electric-types like Tapu Koko and Xurkitree in hail. Cloyster greatly benefits from Lapras's ability to beat Water-types that wall it, such as Toxapex and Slowbro, with Freeze-Dry. Weavile can trap Psychic- and Ghost-types like Victini, Latios, and Gengar with Pursuit and also remove Porygon2's Eviolite with Knock Off to help Lapras break through it more easily.

Lapras is a decent choice as a bulky offensive user of OHKO moves. Sheer Cold can hit anything but Sturdy Pokemon and Ice-types. Freeze-Dry is the best Ice-type move to use, since it hits Water-types harder, while Ice Shard gives Lapras a priority option to pick off weakened sweepers. Lapras may be good at using OHKO moves, but it can be a bit overly reliant on them to deal serious damage, making it somewhat unreliable compared to other OHKO users.

Moves Freeze-Dry and Ice Beam complement each other, the former hitting opposing Water-types such as Lumineon and the latter providing a stronger alternative to it. Hydro Pump is Lapras's strongest attack to put pressure on bulky foes such as Audino, while Surf is a slightly weaker but more accurate alternative to be used when the extra power is not needed. Set Details 252 Special Attack EVs, a Modest nature, and Choice Specs contribute to Lapras hitting as hard as possible, decimating all but the bulkiest Pokemon. 136 Speed EVs allow Lapras to outspeed fully invested Adamant Golem, while the rest is put into HP to increase its general bulk. Water Absorb helps Lapras to check opposing Water-types. Usage Tips Lapras can be brought in on many slower Pokemon such as Stunfisk, Probopass, Roselia, and Vullaby when predicting them to use a support move. Although this can be risky if they go for a super effective attack, Lapras needs to be brought in as frequently as possible to wallbreak effectively, and it has very few foes that it can safely switch into due to its mediocre two resistances. Once Lapras has been brought in safely, it should aim to use the best attack for breaking down opposing teams. Hydro Pump is good for chipping away at specially bulky foes such as Audino and Assault Vest Bouffalant, while Freeze Dry is good for hitting bulky Pokemon that resist Water. In most other situations, Ice Beam and Surf are the safest neutral coverage attacks. Although Lapras is a decent check to opposing Water-types, beware of Superpower Simipour and Focus Blast Floatzel or Politoed. Team Options Electric-immune Pokemon such as Stunfisk and Camerupt can help prevent foes such as Zebstrika from using Volt Switch on Lapras to gain momentum. Fighting-type checks such as Grumpig and Clefairy help take on Monferno, and both can slow down faster foes with Thunder Wave for Lapras. Grass-type checks such as Roselia and Bouffalant are also key for covering foes such as Leafeon. Teammates to help break down specially bulky foes such as Dodrio and Stoutland can help Lapras put pressure on opposing walls. Lapras also pairs well with other Water-types such as Floatzel to put pressure on most Water-type checks such as Lumineon with Freeze-Dry. Setup sweepers like Nasty Plot Simisear and Rock Polish Regice can use Lapras's special wallbreaking capabilities to more easily sweep late-game.

Moves Freeze-Dry allows Lapras to tank hits from most Water-types and strike back for considerable damage. Hydro Pump, alongside Freeze-Dry, has fantastic coverage, hitting just about everything for neutral damage. Because of this, there is a lot of filler in the rest of Lapras's moveset. Ice Shard gives Lapras some occasionally useful priority. Sheer Cold can get Lapras an occasional lucky KO, Icy Wind gives Lapras some speed control, Ice Beam id Lapras's best Ice-type STAB move versus anything that's not a Water-type. Feel free to experiment with the last slot at your leisure. Set Details The EV spread lets Lapras take two Zen Heabutts from Jolly Mega Metagross or a +1 Return from Jolly Mega Salamence while maintaining a solid Special Attack stat. The investment of EVs might look alarmingly strange considering there's much more defensive investment and not much in HP, but Lapras's HP stat is so large that investing in its defenses helps much more than investing in HP. Assault Vest lends so much special bulk already that very little investment is needed. Usage Tips Bring Lapras to the game if you're up against rain or some other Freeze-Dry-vulnerable team. Otheriwse, you should leave it behind. Lapras trades very favorably with Water-type tanks such as Ludicolo, Politoed, and Suicune. Try to take them out or severely weaken them for Lapras's teammates. Despite this, Lapras doesn't trade favorably with Rotom-W. Rotom-W can 2HKO or 3HKO Lapras, depending on how large Rotom-W's Special Attack investment is, while Lapras 3HKOes factoring in Sitrus. Lapras is slower, so it loses this encounter either way. Targeting Rotom-W with Lapras while its partner uses a spread move can work, however. Additionally, with Lapras's heavy defensive investment, it can take a single hit from Pokemon such as Landorus-T and most Salamence and OHKO them with Freeze-Dry. Team Options Pokemon that excel with Water-types gone, such as Landorus-T and Mega Metagross, like Lapras. Lapras benefits from a partner with Intimidate because most of the answers to it are physically based. Again, Landorus-T is great and the two complement each other wonderfully. Lapras synergizes well with Pokemon that can tank Rock- and Fighting-type attacks such as Aegislash, Mega Mawile, and Landorus-T. Lapras can operate well in Trick Room and has nice synergy with common Trick Room Pokemon. Amoonguss redirects Fighting-type attacks for Lapras and sets the Water slaughter into overdrive. Mega Mawile and Mega Camerupt really enjoy Lapras's ability to clear away Fire- and Water-types.

This set takes advantage of Lapras's main attributes: bulk and access to Hydration. The idea is to come in while rain is up, take a Water-type attack to activate Absorb Bulb, and proceed to repeatedly attack with STAB rain-boosted Surf. The choice of Thunder or Ice Beam comes down to what you need Lapras to take out. Thunder has perfect accuracy in the rain, but leaves Lapras susceptible to Dragon-types. On the other hand, Ice Beam is an option to take out the Dragon-types that will stop Lapras, but it will allow rain teams to walk all over it. The final two moveslots are the bread and butter of this set. Rest provides full recovery, and, in the rain, Lapras's sleep is cured at the end of the turn, courtesy of Hydration. Protect is standard in the VGC metagame to ease prediction and recover HP, if opting for Leftovers. The above EV spread allows Lapras to only be 3HKOed by Zapdos's Discharge while being able to 3HKO back without an Absorb Bulb boost, or 2HKO with an Absorb Bulb boost. Politoed stands out as one of the best teammates for Lapras, as it sets up rain, indirectly keeping Lapras alive. Politoed can also help by using Surf to activate Lapras's Absorb Bulb. Other good teammates include Amoonguss, who resists Fighting-type attacks, as well as any other Pokemon that can take out Fighting-types.

While Lapras is typically seen playing a defensive role, this set aims to capitalize on an incorrect prediction and KO specific threats that counter Lapras. For example, Yache Berry Garchomp will survive a +1 Ice Beam from the defensive set; however, the same Garchomp is OHKOed by an Ice Gem-boosted Blizzard. Other examples include Dragonite (with Multiscale), Latios, and even Zapdos. The other three moves come down to supporting the primary STAB option, Blizzard. Surf provides a secondary STAB move, taking out Fire-types that resist Blizzard as well as 2HKOing Tyranitar outside of sand. Ice Shard will help deal with Focus Sash users such as Chandelure; however, if they aren't problems, then Thunderbolt can be used to take out Water-types, most of whom would otherwise wall this set. Protect is, once again, standard in VGC. This set has a couple of EV spreads that can be used. With a neutral nature and 252 Speed EVs, Lapras gets the jump on Gyarados and can KO with Thunderbolt. With a Timid nature and 252 Speed EVs, Lapras can Speed tie with Honchkrow, meaning that it will beat Pokemon such as Hitmontop and Metagross as well. Another option would be to use this set in Trick Room, with a Quiet nature and 0 Speed IVs. Lapras functions extremely well with both hail and Trick Room active. Abomasnow is welcomed for this set, as it will allow Blizzard to hit with 100% accuracy. Reuniclus also can be a good partner if you are looking to use Lapras in hail and Trick Room simultaneously, as it is immune to hail, takes out Fighting-types, and can set up Trick Room effectively. Zapdos can help by taking out Water-types if you decide not to run Thunderbolt on Lapras. Once again, Amoonguss is a good partner to draw in Fighting-type attacks. Finally, Kingdra and Ludicolo are beneficial for this set, as their STAB Surf attacks will heal a lot of Lapras's HP due to Water Absorb. However, these two partners are really only beneficial if used in rain.

Lapras's huge HP and respectable Special Defense stats make it an ideal Curse user. Curse allows Lapras to boost its Attack and Defense stats at the cost of lowering its Speed, which turns it into a monstrous tank who is difficult to remove without landing a critical hit or leeching its health with Toxic or a burn. Ice Shard works great with Curse as its priority will negate the drop in Speed. Avalanche is another option, as it doubles in power by moving last, which Lapras will almost always be doing after a Speed drop. Waterfall is a strong STAB attack that will deal huge damage to any Pokemon without a resistance or immunity after a few boosts from Curse. Return provides excellent type coverage alongside Waterfall, while Rest allows Lapras to fully restore its health and remove harmful status. Using a Chesto Berry with Rest is a good option as it wakes Lapras up instantly. An alternative set of Avalanche, Curse, Rest, and Sleep Talk is viable, as it gives Lapras the ability to recover its health and absorb status effectively. Sleep Talk is helpful to ensure that Lapras isn't wasting the two turns of sleep, and is instead using them as an opportunity to raise its stats further with Curse or attack with a boosted Avalanche. The EVs on this set give Lapras the highest possible special bulk. Maximum HP also gives Lapras a Leftovers number. 252 Special Defense EVs allow Lapras to withstand powerful specially-based hits, even those that are super effective. The remaining EVs are placed into Attack, giving Lapras a little more offensive power. Critical hits are a problem to this set as they will overcome any boosts from Curse and deal huge damage to Lapras. This is where Shell Armor, which protects Lapras from any critical hits, comes in handy. However, Water Absorb is usually the preferred ability, allowing Lapras to restore 25% of its health and come in freely on Water-type attacks, which can sometimes be a more reliable form of healing than Rest. As this set is designed to stick around as long as possible, support from Toxic Spikes is recommended, as it allows Lapras to stall opponents, such as Lanturn, who it cannot damage sufficiently. Drapion is an excellent option as it has access to various support moves such as Taunt, Whirlwind, and Knock Off which allow it to cripple the opponent's team and set up for Lapras at the same time. To keep these hazards on the field, a way to block Rapid Spin is necessary; Spiritomb is a great defensive option, while Calm Mind or Nasty Plot Mismagius is the preferred option if you'd like an offensively oriented Pokemon to block Rapid Spin. Lapras has major problems when faced with a Fighting-type opponent such as Hitmonlee or Hitmontop. Spiritomb is an ideal partner for Lapras as it can switch into a predicted Close Combat and threaten physical attackers with Will-O-Wisp. Uxie is another option as it takes little damage from physical attacks and can cripple the opponent with Thunder Wave or Yawn.

This set focuses on Lapras's excellent defensive stats and the ability to hit many UU threats with its great type coverage. Surf, Ice Beam, and Thunderbolt together hit every Pokemon in the UU tier for neutral damage (barring Lanturn and Shedinja). The final slot brings a support move to the set, allowing Lapras to heal its team or cripple an opponent. The choice between Surf and Hydro Pump depends on whether you prefer power or accuracy. Hydro Pump is recommended if you wish to play more offensively. For example, with Life Orb equipped, Hydro Pump scores OHKOs on both Nidoqueen and Absol, which Surf cannot do. In the second slot, Ice Beam strikes Pokemon such as Venusaur and Altaria for major damage. To round off the coverage, Thunderbolt hits helpless Water-types such as Milotic and Blastoise for super effective damage. Finally, the last slot depends on what role you wish Lapras to fulfill. Toxic allows it to wear down walls such as Lanturn and Chansey, Perish Song allows Lapras to force switches when it is faced with an unfavorable match up, and Heal Bell allows it to support its teammates by removing crippling status. 252 HP and 56 Special Defense EVs ensure that Lapras will never be 2HKOed by Hidden Power Grass or Electric from Gorebyss and Omastar, even if they hold a Life Orb. The remaining EVs give Lapras great offensive power and type coverage. If you wish to play more offensively, you may move 52 EVs from HP into Special Attack and have Lapras hold a Life Orb, though this carries the risk of being 2HKOed by the previously mentioned Gorebyss and Omastar. As with any special sweeper, Lapras has trouble with Chansey. Toxic and Perish Song may work for a limited time, but by then, Chansey will have crippled Lapras with Toxic or Thunder Wave. Powerful physical attackers, such as Hitmonlee and Hitmontop, are excellent choices to deal with Chansey; both Pokemon are able to batter it with super effective STAB Fighting-type moves. Hitmontop is also an effective Rapid Spin user, which is helpful due to Lapras's Ice typing. Dugtrio is another option, as it can trap both Chansey and Clefable with Arena Trap and 2HKO them with Earthquake, though Clefable needs to have taken prior damage to ensure this. Venusaur causes problems for this set as it can switch in on any move (barring Ice Beam) and threaten Lapras with a super effective Grass-type move or Sleep Powder. RestTalk Arcanine makes an excellent check to Venusaur as it can absorb status, while also hitting Venusaur super effectively with Flare Blitz. Altaria with RestTalk is another option who is capable of switching into all of Venusaur's moves. Sleep Talk allows it to set up Dragon Dance boosts or hit Venusaur with a powerful Outrage.

This set functions as a wallbreaker; with Lapras's above-average offensive stats and great type coverage, it is capable of removing some of UU's most troublesome walls, including Steelix and Chansey. This set also utilizes Dragon Dance, which boosts Lapras's Speed and Attack, and turns it into a powerful sweeper. Dragon Dance gives Lapras a great boost in power and the Speed to outrun common UU threats such as Drapion and Houndoom. The choice of which physical move to pick depends on your personal preference: use Waterfall for flinch rate and power, or use Return to damage Water-types. With 64 Special Attack EVs and a Life Orb, Hydro Pump gives Lapras a chance to OHKO the most defensive Steelix with Spikes support, while also dealing huge damage to Donphan and Weezing. The final slot depends on whether you wish to hit Grass-types super effectively with Ice Beam, or if you want Lapras to hit Water-types with Thunderbolt. Thunderbolt is recommended if you use Waterfall as your physical option. The EVs on this set ensure that Lapras is able to OHKO most defensive Steelix with Hydro Pump and Spikes support. 224 Speed EVs allow Lapras to outrun positive nature base 95 Pokemon after a single Dragon Dance, including Leafeon and Houndoom, who are OHKOed by Ice Beam and Hydro Pump, respectively. 64 SpA Naughty Lapras + Life Orb Hydro Pump vs 252 HP / 252 SpD Careful Steelix = 84.7% = 100% 64 SpA Naughty Lapras + Life Orb Hydro Pump vs 252 HP / 0 SpD Impish Arcanine = 99% = 117.2% 64 SpA Naughty Lapras + Life Orb Hydro Pump vs 52 HP / 0 SpD Adamant Donphan = 142.5% - 168.9% 64 SpA Naughty Lapras + Life Orb Hydro Pump vs 252 HP / 0 SpD Bold Weezing = 63.2% - 74.9% 64 SpA Naughty Lapras + Life Orb Ice Beam vs 0 HP / 0 SpD Jolly Venusaur = 84.4% = 99.7% 220 Atk Naughty Lapras + Life Orb +1 Return vs 0 HP / 252 Def Calm Chansey = 58.5% = 69% 220 Atk Naughty Lapras + Life Orb +1 Waterfall vs 0 HP / 252 Def Calm Chansey = 68.8% = 81.1% This set isn't easy to counter after a Dragon Dance or two; however, bulky Water-types such as Slowbro and Milotic cause trouble for this set if Lapras lacks Thunderbolt, due to their massive physical defense stats. Venusaur comes in handy here as it can hit them super effectively with Grass-type moves or Sleep Powder. Lanturn is one of Lapras's biggest problems thanks to its mammoth HP stat and ability to switch in on any Water-, Ice-, or Electric-type move. Support from Toxic Spikes can cripple Lanturn as it lacks a reliable recovery move. Drapion is an option as it can prevent Lanturn's Thunder Wave by using Taunt, and can set up Toxic Spikes or phaze the opponent's team with Whirlwind. For a more offensive approach, Venusaur can hit Lanturn with STAB Leaf Storm or Power Whip, while Dugtrio can switch in on Thunderbolt and trap Lanturn with Arena Trap. If Lapras lacks Ice Beam, Venusaur can switch in on Hydro Pump or Return and threaten Lapras with Sleep Powder or a super effective Grass-type move. RestTalk Arcanine is an excellent check to Venusaur as it can absorb status while also dishing out huge damage with Flare Blitz. Altaria also makes a fine RestTalk user due to its high defensive stats and great typing. Natural Cure also helps Altaria remove its own status upon switching out.

On this set, Dragon Dance is used in order to raise Lapras's average Attack and Speed stats into much higher degrees. Lapras makes an excellent Dragon Dance user thanks to its respectable defenses and Water Absorb ability, giving it numerous opportunities to switch in and boost its stats. A combination of Waterfall and Return provides near-perfect type coverage in UU, with Shedinja being the only Pokemon who is immune to both moves. Zen Headbutt is an option if you need Lapras to hit Weezing and Fighting-types such as Poliwrath or Toxicroak harder. However, if you leave out Return, Slowbro will cause problems. Substitute grants Lapras safety from crippling status moves, but Ice Beam, although being a special attack, will hit Grass-types for more damage than any of Lapras's other physical options. 224 Speed EVs give Lapras 212 Speed, which allows it to outrun base 95 Pokemon with a positive nature, such as Drapion and Houndoom, after a single Dragon Dance boost. Maximum Attack EVs allow it to deal as much damage as possible. The remaining EVs are placed into HP, giving Lapras more bulk while also allowing Lapras to create Substitutes bigger than 101 HP. This requires Chansey to use Seismic Toss twice before Lapras's Substitute breaks. Bulky Water-types cause this set problems as Lapras is unable to hit them super effectively. Grass-types, most notably Venusaur, are good teammates as they can hit Water-type Pokemon for super effective damage with their STAB Grass-type attacks or cripple them with status or Leech Seed. Venusaur is an outstanding candidate because of its great bulk and diverse movepool.

Other Options: Reflect, Surf, Body Slam

Set Description Thanks to the presence of Exeggutor and Tauros in the lead slot, Lapras is capable of being a decent lead itself. It possesses the ability to outspeed and 2HKO Exeggutor with its STAB Blizzard or land Sing before getting put to sleep itself. Against Tauros, it is able to stomach two Body Slams and a Hyper Beam and is virtually never KOed without a critical hit. In return, it can attempt to put Tauros to sleep or fire off Blizzard, which will 2HKO a little over a quarter of the time. Lapras can use its excellent coverage and bulk to use Thunderbolt against Starmie and unboosted Slowbro mid-game. It also completely stonewalls Cloyster, forcing it to use Explosion or switch out in fear of being 2HKOed by said Thunderbolt. Blizzard's 10.2% freeze chance also means Lapras can potentially flip a game on its head by securing a freeze on the likes of Chansey or Mewtwo. Hyper Beam is used in the last slot as a decent finishing tool against Chansey, KOing from about 40%. While Lapras does have many qualities that make it enticing as a lead, it also suffers from some bad matchups. Jynx, Gengar, Jolteon, and Zapdos all are common leads that make the Lapras user start off on a terrible foot. Zapdos and Jolteon are massively threatening with STAB Thunderbolt, which 2HKOes Lapras, and they have a good chance to OHKO outright thanks to their high critical hit rates. While Zapdos is 2HKOed by Blizzard, this is still a very favorable matchup for it. Jynx and Gengar both outspeed and carry their own more accurate sleep-inducing moves, threatening to put Lapras to sleep before it can do anything. Lapras also suffers from its lack of recovery, often being worn down very quickly while taking stray hits from Snorlax and Mew. This makes it quite difficult to facilitate Lapras, especially when common Pokemon like Chansey and Thunderbolt Mewtwo can switch in repeatedly and shrug off the damage with their reliable recovery, only fearing being frozen. Lapras and its traits make it somewhat matchup dependent, as it can be quite devastating against teams that rely on Exeggutor for sleep or Cloyster for their Snorlax check. It is best to maximize your gain early on, putting something to sleep and using Blizzard to aim for a freeze. If these goals are achieved, then sacrificing Lapras to the likes of Sing Chansey is often optimal. One additional benefit is the lack of Thunderbolt on Chansey in Ubers, meaning it is typically safe to stay in and fish for a freeze while Chansey tries to put it to sleep. Additionally, if threats such as Cloyster are revealed, Lapras should be kept healthy to repeatedly switch in and freely use Blizzard into incoming Chansey and Mewtwo.

Set Description Lapras's STAB Blizzard is no joke, OHKOing Dragonite and almost always OHKOing Rhydon and Golem. It also 2HKOes notable Pokemon like Zapdos, Exeggutor, Persian, and sometimes even Tauros. Tauros is a notable matchup, as few Pokemon are capable of beating it in a head-on fight; not only can Lapras potentially 2HKO it, but it can also survive two Body Slams followed by Hyper Beam. Thunderbolt ensures Water-types like Cloyster, Starmie, and Slowbro can't wall Lapras, as it 2HKOes Cloyster and 3HKOes the others. Body Slam allows Lapras to be more self-sufficient in spreading paralysis, which also supports parafusion with Confuse Ray. It also gives Lapras an effective move against Jynx, rarely 3HKOing it. Thanks to RBY's brutal confusion mechanics, when supported with paralysis, Lapras can position itself into a positive matchup against most Swords Dance Mew variants, including Reflect sets. Progress-makers like Snorlax and Mew tend to have trouble combatting Lapras, as they cannot KO it quickly. However, this only works consistently from full HP: thus, Lapras should be kept for one single, favorable trade before going on its rampage. Lapras benefits from an allied Mew with Thunder Wave, which is one of the most consistent methods of landing paralysis against a myriad of threats, most notably including opposing Mew. Other paralysis support options include Alakazam, Chansey, Jolteon, Zapdos, Dragonite, and Slowbro. Lapras teams tend to struggle against Zapdos, so Jolteon is a suitable partner, though Rhydon is also suitable for a more definitive answer.
