This Magnemite set traps and sets up on the common Ferroseed, serving as a wincon. Substitute allows it to safely activate Salac Berry. Charge Beam boosts Magnemite's Special Attack and is weak enough to boost all the way to +6 before KOing Ferroseed. Flash Cannon provides almost perfect neutral coverage and OHKOes anything that doesn't resist it when boosted to +6. Rest allows Magnemite to PP stall Ferroseed and stay healthy for an eventual sweep. Pokemon that can lure in Ferroseed, such as Porygon, Abra, and Water-types, are essential partners for setting up a Magnemite sweep; even if it is unable to fully sweep, these Pokemon appreciate Ferroseed being removed. Eviolite Diglett can reliably switch into Ferroseed, provide Memento support to ensure Ferroseed cannot break Magnemite's Substitute, break opposing Abra's Focus Sash, and guarantee Stealth Rock against teams with Natu. This set struggles against Pawniard teams, so your team should prepare to handle Pawniard by bringing a Fighting-type such as Mienfoo.

Berry Juice Magnemite is a powerful offensive pivot that checks threats such as Porygon and Abra. Volt Switch lets Magnemite escape unfavorable matchups and generate momentum using its survivability and the switches it forces. Flash Cannon doesn't force Magnemite out and prevents Ground-types from freely switching in. Recycle in tandem with Berry Juice allows Magnemite to fully heal continually, giving it nearly unmatched longevity. Endure lets it survive any hit when chip damage deactivates Sturdy. Reaching 1 HP with either Endure or Sturdy activates Berry Juice, fully healing Magnemite and reactivating Sturdy. Recycle lets these cycles be used continually. Steel Beam is Magnemite's strongest attack, OHKOing almost everything that doesn't resist it, and its recoil can be mitigated by Berry Juice. Thunderbolt gives Electric-type coverage without forcing a switch and is slightly stronger than Flash Cannon. Fighting- and Poison-types such as Mienfoo and Koffing are mandatory in order to absorb Knock Off for Magnemite, which makes Recycle fail. Staryu checks Ponyta and Mudbray and can remove Stealth Rock. Grookey is an excellent partner; it shares several Magnemite checks such as Ferroseed and Ponyta, can keep its Sturdy intact with Grassy Terrain, and can check Ground-types. Frail attackers such as Ponyta and Abra appreciate Magnemite getting them in safely with Volt Switch.

Choice Scarf Magnemite is a powerful hit-and-run attacker that outspeeds almost the entire metagame. Volt Switch punishes opposing switch-ins with chip damage and grabs momentum. Steel Beam is Magnemite's most powerful attack, OHKOing most neutral targets after minimal prior damage. A Timid nature is preferred to ensure Magnemite outspeeds Choice Scarf Porygon. A Modest nature is a viable alternative that increases many of Magnemite's damage rolls. Analytic helps Magnemite punish the switches it forces, especially with Volt Switch. Staryu is a great partner for Magnemite that can switch into Ponyta, Onix, and Mudbray and help wear down shared checks like Ferroseed. Fighting- and Poison-types are already present on most teams and can reliably switch into Magnemite's checks. Frail attackers like Ponyta and Abra appreciate Volt Switch to soften up foes and bring them in safely. This set is very easy to trap with Diglett or Trapinch, especially if it is locked into an Electric-type attack, so be very careful when facing teams with one of these Pokemon; a trapper of your own like Air Balloon Diglett or Trace Porygon thus makes a good partner.

战术分析
Moves Volt Switch allows Magnemite to act as a pivot and has decent offensive potential because of Magnemite's high Special Attack and STAB. Flash Cannon is a more powerful STAB alternative that doesn't require Magnemite to switch out, and it hits most of what resists Volt Switch. It also hits the common Fairy type for super effective damage. Recycle allows Magnemite to regenerate its Berry Juice, restoring its HP to full. In the last slot, Endure can be used to ensure that Magnemite survives an attack, even if its Sturdy is broken, allowing it to regenerate its HP and get Sturdy back intact. Alternatively, if a broken Sturdy is not a concern, Hidden Power Ground can be run to hit Electric-types, such as Chinchou and opposing Magnemite, that resist Magnemite's STAB attacks. Set Details 236 Special Attack EVs and 236 Speed EVs maximize Magnemite's offensive potential. The remaining EVs go into Defense to allow Magnemite to take on physical priority attacks somewhat better. If Hidden Power Ground is run, the EV spread should be changed to 240 SpA / 236 Spe to make up for the IV drop that running Hidden Power Ground causes. This Magnemite set doesn't need to invest significantly in bulk because the point of the set is to take advantage of Sturdy to survive attacks. Berry Juice gives Magnemite a form of recovery that can be regenerated with Recycle. A Modest nature is used to maximize Magnemite's offensive potential, but a Timid one can also be used if it is essential for Magnemite to outspeed 14 Speed Pokemon, including Weak Armor variants of Vullaby before they are boosted, and most Corphish. Usage Tips This set relies on avoiding Knock Off, which removes Magnemite's ability to regenerate its Berry Juice and recover HP. While some Knock Off users are obvious, such as Pawniard, others, such as Cottonee, Abra, and Ferroseed, can be more unexpected, and a mispredict against these Pokemon can lead to Magnemite being crippled for the rest of the match. Most resisted attacks can be switched into and out of throughout the match, with Magnemite using Volt Switch to pivot in and out and Recycle to recover its health. Strong neutral and super effective attacks should not be switched into if entry hazards are on the field, or if Magnemite has taken prior damage, because Sturdy will no longer be intact. Magnemite can use Endure when its Sturdy is broken but when it has an intact Berry Juice to survive a hit that would otherwise KO it and get to full health, where it will almost always survive any attack with Sturdy. However, if an opponent expects an Endure, they can use the free turn as an opportunity to boost stats, set entry hazards, or recover their own Pokemon's health. Team Options This Magnemite set is most suited for offensive teams that appreciate its ability to act as a last-ditch counter to setup sweepers such as Shellder, Carvanha, and Rufflet. This Magnemite set deals with Fairy-types extremely effectively, being able to hit them hard with Flash Cannon without fear of being worn down thanks to Recycle and Berry Juice. Thus, Mienfoo, Scraggy, and Timburr appreciate having Magnemite on their team. Snivy and Foongus both work well with Magnemite, as they are able to switch into Chinchou and the Ground-types that Magnemite brings in and wear them down, hopefully allowing Magnemite to spam Volt Switch more freely later in the game. Foongus works especially well due to Regenerator, which allows it to pivot in and out as Magnemite does throughout the game. Magnemite also works well with Mienfoo, Larvesta, and Vullaby to form a VoltTurn core and wear down the opponent's team. Larvesta works as a Fighting-type check, a necessity when using Magnemite due to its Fighting-type weakness and the prevalence of Knock Off among Fighting-types. Other Fighting checks include Snubbull, Spritzee, and Foongus. Magnemite appreciates Rapid Spin, which keeps hazards off of the field and thus allows Magnemite to not only pivot in and out of battle without being worn down but also keep its Sturdy intact. Staryu can somewhat handle the Ground-types that threaten Magnemite, while Drilbur can somewhat handle the Electric-types that resist Magnemite's attacks. For Magnemite to be able to pivot without fear, it appreciates having Ground- and Electric-types removed from the match. Diglett can trap and remove opposing Electric-types handily, and can also trap weakened Ground-types, albeit less effectively. With these Pokemon removed from the match, Volt Switch can be spammed more freely. Lastly, users of Toxic Spikes can spread poison to the opponent's team, allowing Magnemite to stall its foes out using Recycle as they lose HP. Mareanie and Skrelp both handle the Fire-types that give this Magnemite set trouble, and Trubbish can absorb Knock Off, which often comes directed at Magnemite, which makes all three of these Pokemon good partners.

Moves Volt Switch is Magnemite's primary STAB attack and gives it momentum by allowing it to switch out to a teammate while weakening switch-ins. Flash Cannon is a more powerful alternative that doesn't require Magnemite to switch out, and it hits most of what resists Volt Switch. It also hits the common Fairy type for super effective damage. Thunderbolt is a more powerful alternative to Volt Switch, and it is useful in scenarios where Magnemite should be left in battle, especially later in the game. Hidden Power Fire allows Magnemite to almost always OHKO Berry Juice Ferroseed and 2HKO Eviolite Ferroseed. Hidden Power Ground is useful for hitting the Electric-types, such as Chinchou and opposing Magnemite, that would otherwise wall Magnemite. Hidden Power Grass also hits Chinchou and is useful against teams with both a Water- and a Ground-type, as it eases prediction, but it comes at the cost of dealing less damage to opposing Magnemite. Hidden Power Fighting is an option to trap and KO Pawniard. Set Details Magnemite maximizes its Speed investment so that it can hit 21 Speed, or 22 with a Timid nature, when equipped with a Choice Scarf. While 21 is sufficient to outspeed the entire unboosted metagame, 22 Speed allows it to outspeed other Choice Scarf users and tie with Scraggy after a Dragon Dance. The remaining EVs go into maximizing Magnemite's naturally high Special Attack to allow it to hit as hard as possible. A Modest nature further boosts Magnemite's Special Attack stat, but at the expense of a Speed point, as discussed. Choice Scarf boosts Magnemite's low base Speed to a high enough level to put pressure on offensive teams. Analytic is the preferred ability on this set, as it allows Magnemite to punish switch-ins. However, if Hidden Power Fire is run, Magnet Pull allows Magnemite to trap and KO Steel-types such as Ferroseed. Sturdy can also be run, allowing Magnemite to take a powerful attack once during a match if entry hazards are kept off of the field. If no Hidden Power is run, an EV spread of 36 Def / 236 SpA / 236 Spe can be used for extra bulk. Usage Tips Choice Scarf Magnemite is especially useful against frailer offensive teams, where it can outspeed unboosted attackers and wear them down over the course of a battle. Care should be taken not to lock Magnemite into Electric-type moves early in the game if the opponent has a Ground-type or Chinchou, which could come into the attack and potentially use it as a setup opportunity. As the game wears on, and the opponent's Electric-type checks are weakened, Magnemite can spam Volt Switch more freely. This Magnemite set does not appreciate taking unresisted, or even powerful resisted, hits, so it works best when sent in to revenge kill an opposing Pokemon, when cleaning an opponent's team late-game, or when you are sure that the foe won't use an attacking move. Team Options Although less effective as a Fairy-type check than SturdyJuice sets, Choice Scarf Magnemite can still threaten Fairy-types, making Fighting-types, such as Mienfoo, Scraggy, and Timburr, good partners. These pokemon can also absorb Knock Off aimed at Magnemite. Snivy and Foongus both work well with this Magnemite set, able to switch into Chinchou and the Ground-types that Magnemite brings and wear them down, hopefully allowing Magnemite to spam Volt Switch more freely later in the game. Foongus works especially well due to Regenerator, which allows it to pivot in and out as Magnemite does throughout the game. Foongus also works as a Fighting-type check, a necessity when using Magnemite, with other options including Spritzee, Snubbull, and Larvesta. Many of these Pokemon also appreciate Magnet Pull variants of Magnemite being able to trap Ferroseed in particular. Choice Scarf Magnemite works well with slower pivots, which can bring it into the battle unharmed, such as Mienfoo, the previously mentioned Larvesta, and bulkier variants of Vullaby. Additionally, forming VoltTurn cores with these Pokemon works well to wear down the opponent's team.

Moves Volt Switch is strong and helps Magnemite perform as a slow pivot. Hidden Power Fighting is used to KO Pawniard, Ferroseed, and opposing Magnemite (be wary of Hidden Power Ground) after trapping them, which is the whole point of the set. Flash Cannon is a secondary STAB move with decent neutral coverage. Thunderbolt is a stronger Electric-type STAB move than Volt Switch. Thunder Wave can be used instead to paralyze fast threats such as Abra and Gastly. Toxic wears down Porygon and Chinchou. Set Details The given EVs let Magnemite survive a Knock Off followed by a Sucker Punch from Eviolite Pawniard after Stealth Rock, a Brick Break from Life Orb Adamant Pawniard after Stealth Rock, or a Hidden Power Fighting from Life Orb Abra. The Special Attack EVs allow Magnemite to KO standard Eviolite Pawniard most of the time with Hidden Power Fighting. Magnemite uses Magnet Pull to trap Steel-types such as Pawniard, Ferroseed, and opposing Magnemite. Eviolite is used to make Magnemite way bulkier and avoid an OHKO from Life Orb Pawniard's Brick Break. You can run Choice Scarf with 240 SpA / 240 Spe to be less weak to Diglett. Usage Tips Use Magnemite as a slow pivot, since its low base Speed plus Volt Switch are really good for this job. Use Magnemite to revenge kill Pawniard; don't switch it in directly. However, you can switch it directly into Ferroseed to trap it. Don't switch into Volt Switch or U-turn if your opponent has Diglett. Team Options Fletchling and Vullaby are good teammates because they can use U-turn to bring in Magnemite versus Pawniard, enabling it to trap it with Magnet Pull and KO it with Hidden Power Fighting. Flying-types such as Doduo and Fletchling and Fairies such as Spritzee appreciate Magnemite's help a lot, since its ability to trap Pawniard makes their job way easier. Both Corphish and Omanyte like Magnemite as a partner due to its ability to trap Ferroseed, a big counter to them. Frail Pokemon such as Gastly and Abra appreciate Magnemite's slow Volt Switch to get them into play safely. A Chinchou and Ground-type switch-in such as Snivy helps a lot, since Magnemite is really weak to both. Shellder heavily appreciates Magnemite's help to trap Pawniard and other Steel-types, which are the main checks to it. Entry hazard setters such as Dwebble are a big help, since Magnemite need a bit of damage to KO some variants of Eviolite Pawniard.

Moves Volt Switch is Magnemite's primary STAB attack due to its ability to maintain momentum against Magnemite's checks and counters. Flash Cannon does decent damage to the Ground-types that come in expecting an Electric-type attack and hits Fairy-types for super effective damage. Thunderbolt is more powerful than Volt Switch and doesn't force Magnemite out, which is great when attempting to sweep your opponent's team late-game. Hidden Power Ground hits Chinchou and opposing Magnemite for super effective damage, while Hidden Power Grass hits Chinchou and Ground-types, and is great for situations where your opponent has both as without Hidden Power Grass you are forced to predict. Set Details With a Choice Scarf, Magnemite reaches 22 or 21 Speed, allowing it to outspeed the entire unboosted metagame. The EVs maximize Magnemite's Special Attack and Speed. A Timid nature is used to outspeed Pokemon with 21 Speed and tie with boosted Scraggy and opposing Magnemite. A Modest nature maximizes Magnemite's damage output. Analytic lets Magnemite hit switch-ins harder, but Sturdy lets Magnemite survive almost any attack from full health. Usage Tips Locking Magnemite into an Electric-type move is a bad idea if your opponent has a Ground-type or Chinchou. Magnemite should avoid switching into Knock Off users, such as Pawniard, as losing its Choice Scarf eliminates its revenge killing capability. Use your other teammates to take out opposing Pokemon immune to Electric, thereby allowing Magnemite to gain momentum with Volt Switch more easily. Team Options Pokemon with U-turn or Volt Switch such as Mienfoo, Chinchou, Larvesta, Fletchling, and Archen, can maintain momentum and form a VoltTurn core with Magnemite. Magnemite makes good teammates with Fighting-types in general due to its ability to switch into and defeat most Fairy-types. Both Foongus and Cottonee can easily switch into Chinchou and Ground-types, Pokemon that Magnemite struggles against. Diglett is also a great teammate, as it deals with Chinchou, trapping and KOing it with a super effective Earthquake. Entry hazard setters such as Drilbur, Ferroseed, and Archen can help secure specific OHKOs and 2HKOs and break foes' Focus Sash or Sturdy, helping Magnemite clean late game. Magnemite also enjoys having a Pokemon that can keep entry hazards off your side of the field, such as Drilbur, Staryu, Vullaby, or Archen. Pokemon that struggle against Fletchling, such as Mienfoo, Timburr, Croagunk, Foongus, and Cottonee, enjoy Magnemite's presence, as it has little trouble switching into Fletchling and taking any attack it has bar Overheat.

Moves Volt Switch is Magnemite's primary STAB attack due to its ability to maintain momentum against Magnemite's checks and counters. Flash Cannon does decent damage to the Ground-types that come in expecting an Electric-type attack and hits Fairy-types for super effective damage. Recycle allows Magnemite to reuse its Berry Juice after consuming it, giving Magnemite reliable recovery. Endure allows Magnemite to survive an attack after its Sturdy is broken and trigger its Berry Juice, allowing it to regain Sturdy. Hidden Power Ground hits incoming Chinchou that expect an Electric-type attack, and for OHKOing opposing Magnemite without their Sturdy intact. Thunderbolt is a more powerful Electric-type STAB attack that won't force Magnemite out. Set Details The Speed EVs allow Magnemite to reach 14 Speed with a neutral nature and outspeed threats such as Adamant Corphish, while the speed EVs maximize Magnemite's damage output. The extra EVs are put in Defense to increase Magnemite's physical bulk. When Magnemite is using Hidden Power Ground over Endure or Thunderbolt, it needs to run an EV spread of 240 SpA / 236 Spe, as Hidden Power Ground lowers Magnemite's Special Attack IVs, thus requiring 4 more EVs to get the Special Attack point. A Modest nature allows Magnemite to hit harder, while a Timid nature lets it avoid Speed ties with bulkier Chinchou, Jolly Corphish, and opposing Magnemite. Sturdy allows Magnemite to survive almost any move from full HP, which can give Magnemite semi-reliable recovery when paired with Berry Juice, Recycle, and Endure. Usage Tips Magnemite should avoid switching in if there are entry hazards on your side of the field, as they will break Sturdy and leave it vulnerable to attacks that can OHKO it. Magnemite should avoid switching into Knock Off users such as Pawniard, because if Berry Juice gets Knocked Off, Recycle won't work anymore, leaving Magnemite without recovery. When you predict that the foe will attack when Magnemite's Sturdy is broken, Magnemite should use Endure to survive and regain it's lost HP with Berry Juice. Once Pokemon that resist or are immune to Electric have been removed, Magnemite can spam Volt Switch and give your team momentum more easily. Once it has lost Sturdy, Magnemite can switch into weaker or resisted attacks from foes that don't have Knock Off, such as Spritzee and Shellder. Team Options Pokemon with U-turn or Volt Switch, such as Mienfoo, Chinchou, Larvesta, Fletchling, and Archen, can maintain momentum and form a VoltTurn core with Magnemite. Magnemite loves having Pokemon that can switch into Fighting-types, such as Spritzee and Trubbish, the latter of which can also switch into Knock Off because of Sticky Hold. If Endure is chosen, Toxic Spikes support from Trubbish can slowly wear down your opponents team as you stall foes out by Recycling Berry Juice. Entry hazard support from Pokemon such as Drilbur, Staryu, Vullaby, and Archen is incredibly useful to ensure Magnemite's Sturdy is not broken. Pokemon that struggle against Fletchling, such as Mienfoo, Timburr, Croagunk, Foongus, and Cottonee, enjoy Magnemite's presence, as it has little trouble switching into Fletchling and taking any attack it has bar Overheat, which Magnemite can survive if it uses Endure at the right time.

Life Orb Magnemite is an underrated threat that can take down many bulky opponents. Possessing a powerful 26 Special Attack means that Magnemite can hit extremely hard, even through resistances. Thunderbolt is the main STAB move, dealing lots of damage to most Pokemon. Flash Cannon makes a good auxiliary STAB to catch off-guard Ground-types, such as Gligar, on the switch in. Because of Magnet Pull, Magnemite can also come in on Steel-types such as Bronzor that lack Earthquake, and proceed to Thunderbolt them to death without worrying about it switching. Hidden Power Fire and Hidden Power Ice both allow Magnemite to defeat Grass-types that do well against this set otherwise. Additionally, Hidden Power Fire helps against opposing Magnemite, while Hidden Power Ice has the ability to OHKO Gligar and do more damage to Dratini than Flash Cannon. Gligar is a great teammate for Life Orb Magnemite. It has good synergy with Magnemite, and the ability to scout opponents with U-turn, easily allowing Magnemite to come back in to deal more damage. Gligar also deals with Munchlax reasonably well, so Magnemite does not have to rely on Explosion to take out a special wall. Snover is also a helpful teammate, as it is quite good for dealing with Chinchou, another Pokemon that Magnemite must sacrifice itself in order to beat; it can Energy Ball for an OHKO while not taking much damage from any of Chinchou's attacks. If you predict a Gligar switch-in, Magnemite can eliminate it with Hidden Power Ice. As such, Pokemon that appreciate the removal of Gligar, such as Scarf Machop and Mankey, are good teammates; once Gligar is out, they can easily use Dynamic Punch and Close Combat respectively to sweep without repercussions. An alternative EV spread of 240 SpA / 240 Spe could be used if you want Magnemite to outrun more Pokemon, though the loss of bulk could prove problematic. With that EV spread, a Naive nature is recommended so that Magnemite reaches 15 Speed, thus outspeeding common threats that sit at 14 Speed.

By employing a Choice Scarf, Magnemite can fill both the role of a Steel killer and a revenge killer, but will have greater problems against foes like Earthquake Bronzor. Thunderbolt is the STAB move of choice here, dealing a lot of damage to almost every Pokemon that isn't immune to it. This set, however, will take a battering from specially-offensive variants of Bronzor due to the reduction in Special Defense, even with its resistances. Thunderbolt is Magnemite's STAB move and provides good coverage. Flash Cannon is a secondary STAB attack, and is used to hit Gligar and Dratini as hard as possible. Hidden Power Ground can be used to do more damage to Electric-types, most notably Chinchou, while Hidden Power Grass allows Magnemite to hit Ground-types, such as Phanpy, harder. Lastly, Explosion is a great last resort move to defeat Pokemon that wall Magnemite, such as Munchlax. This set is a great counter to Dragon Dance Dratini, one of the biggest threats in the current Little Cup metagame; in addition to its resistance to Extreme Speed, Magnemite is able to outspeed Dratini even after a Dragon Dance and proceed to beat it with Flash Cannon or Hidden Power Ice. As such, Pokemon that benefit from Dratini's removal, such as Fire- and Grass-types, are welcome on Magnemite's side. Pokemon that don't like Steel-types appreciate Magnemite's support. In addition, this Magnemite also works fine with Pokemon that Dratini can easily set up on, such as Fire- and Grass-types. Two interesting teammates for this set are Gligar and Lileep. Their two biggest counters are Bronzor and Snover, both of which can be severely hurt by Magnemite's Thunderbolt and Flash Cannon, allowing Gligar and Lileep to sweep much more easily.

Magnemite is the premier Steel-type trapper in Little Cup, being able to easily trap and remove every Steel-type excluding Rock Polish Aron. Thanks to Magnemite's plethora of resistances, it can comfortably switch into a move it resists, set up Substitute and Magnet Rise, and attack. Magnet Rise, in conjunction with Substitute, allows Magnemite to avoid dangerous Earthquakes as well as harmful status. Thunderbolt is Magnemite's main STAB attack, doing tons of damage to most Pokemon. Hidden Power Ice strikes Dratini and the Grass-types that would otherwise wall this set. Alternatively, Hidden Power Fire is an option for attacking opposing Magnemite and Snover, while still being able to hit Grass-types. The Speed EVs make Magnemite faster than common Steel-types so it can use Magnet Rise or Substitute in time. Max Special Attack EVs allow Magnemite to dish out as much damage as possible. The leftover EVs are stored into HP and Defense for additional bulk. If Hidden Power Fire is being used, then an EV spread of 76 HP / 240 SpA / 160 Spe should be used to compensate for the loss of Speed and Special Attack. This set partners well with Pokemon such as Taillow that appreciate the removal of Steel-type Pokemon, especially Bronzor. Even using another Steel-type, like Aron, on your team can work well as it no longer has to worry about being walled by Bronzor.

战术分析
Set Description Thunder is preferred to Thunderbolt to hit switch-ins harder; it 2HKOes Rapidash and Stantler after Spikes, hits Octillery and other Electric-weak targets for a potential OHKO, more reliably paralyzes foes, and is capable of 3HKOing bulky Normal-types like Wigglytuff. Hidden Power Ice is the best coverage option Magnemite has to hit Pokemon that resist Electric such as Dugtrio, Graveler, and Gloom, and it also provides a second way to hit Flying-type Pokemon with perfect accuracy or while using Sleep Talk. RestTalk keeps Magnemite healthy throughout the course of a game to take advantage of its useful defensive typing, primarily making it a strong long-term check to Xatu, Fearow, and Persian that can consistently use them as an opportunity to fire off Thunder. Team Options Magnemite's favorite partner is Xatu, which can cover for Pokemon that can threaten Magnemite, including Weezing, Primeape, and Dugtrio; in return, Magnemite can defeat Wigglytuff, Fearow, and Porygon. Magnemite adores Pineco's Spikes because its main answers, Dugtrio, Rapidash, and Ninetales, all take damage from Spikes, wearing them down and making it easier for Magnemite to muscle through them over time, especially with paralysis from Thunder. Both Graveler and Pineco can use Rapid Spin to clear opposing Spikes so that Magnemite doesn't take damage itself. Ninetales and Rapidash take on Fire-types like opposing Ninetales and Magmar as well as other Magnemite, which Magnemite can struggle with. Magnemite appreciates Rapidash especially, as it can severely threaten Ninetales and forces Water-types like Octillery and Dewgong to use Rest often, giving Magnemite a potential free entry to fire off an attack. Octillery and Dewgong are also prime candidates for partnering with Magnemite, being roadblocks for Dugtrio and acting as better checks to other Octillery and Dewgong than Magnemite, as it does not resist Water and thus takes significant damage from Surf. Weezing and Fearow both handle Primeape and Hitmonlee and assist with pressuring Stantler. Fearow also forces Octillery and Dewgong to use Rest more often, providing entry points for Magnemite, similarly to Rapidash. Primeape and Hitmonlee themselves also enjoy Magnemite's presence, as it can cover for their weaknesses to Xatu and Fearow while in return threatening Stantler. Hitmonlee additionally deals with Octillery, Dewgong, and Chinchou well. Dugtrio also synergizes well with Magnemite, threatening Fire-types like Rapidash and Ninetales and appreciating its ability to take on Xatu and pressure Octillery.
