Thanks to its titanic Defense, Regirock can stonewall popular physical attackers like Sneasel and use them as an opportunity to set up Stealth Rock. Rock Blast deals reliable damage to Typhlosion and Charizard and breaks Substitute on users like Minior and Jolteon. Body Press crushes Ice-types like Beartic and Sneasel, and Steel-types like Orthworm and Magneton. Iron Defense boosts Regirock's physical bulk and powers up Body Press, turning Regirock into a bulky setup sweeper capable of suffocating physical attackers like Hitmontop and overwhelming walls like Sandaconda. Thunder Wave slows down setup sweepers like Hisuian Sneasel and fast Pokemon like Whimsicott but makes Regirock more passive. Clear Body helpfully denies stat debuffs from Intimidate, Shadow Ball, and Triple Arrows. 16 Defense EVs and an Impish nature is a useful jump point to balance Regirock's bulk. Tera Poison helps with Regirock's Grass and Fighting weaknesses and gives it an immunity to poison. Regirock fits best on teams looking for a physically defensive backbone that can set up Stealth Rock. While Regirock has great physical bulk, its typing and comparatively lesser special bulk leave it more prone to strong special attacks. Specially defensive partners like Muk and Articuno complement Regirock's physical bulk and can intercept special attackers like Clawitzer, Whimsicott, and Mesprit. Sandslash and Hitmontop can form entry hazard cores with Regirock and help keep it from taking entry hazard chip damage. Other Grass-type partners like Alolan Exeggutor, Dipplin, and Virizion are also appreciated by Regirock, as they can cover its Ground, Grass, and Water weaknesses by taking on Sandslash, opposing Dipplin, and Clawitzer, while Regirock can take on threatening Flying-types like Minior and Articuno.

Thanks to its typing and splendid physical bulk, Regirock makes for a sturdy Stealth Rock setter capable of dishing out solid damage thanks to Body Press. The given EV spread allows Regirock to always avoid the 2HKO from Choice Band Aggron, while Clear Body lets it block Parting Shot. Rock Blast allows Regirock to break Substitute and Focus Sash from Pokemon like Haunter and lead Archeops, while Stone Edge hits consistently harder. Toxic gives Regirock a way to cripple walls like Jellicent, whereas Thunder Wave can be used to cripple more offensive threats such as Whimsicott. Partners that can take on special attackers like Magneton and Magmortar that Regirock struggles against are appreciated. Lanturn stands out as a solid option, being able to further support Regirock with Heal Bell. Answers to Fighting- and Grass-types like Gallade and Trevenant are also appreciated; this makes Weezing a stellar partner. Charizard is another great teammate, and it appreciates Regirock checking threats like Archeops.

Moves Setting up Stealth Rock is the main use of Regirock on a team. It makes for a good setter due to its good bulk and nice set of resistances. Stone Edge can hit many of the targets Regirock checks defensively, especially threatening Xatu, which can block its use of Stealth Rock with Magic Bounce. Alternatively, Rock Slide can be used for a more reliable way of attacking, as it has more PP and higher accuracy. Earthquake hits opposing entry hazard users such as Steelix, Garbodor, and Rhydon for super effective damage. Hammer Arm can alternatively be used to hit Magnet Rise Klinklang as well as Pangoro in addition to still hitting Steelix and Rhydon. Finally, Toxic badly poisons Pokemon that Regirock can't really touch effectively such as Slowking and Seismitoad. Set Details Sturdy is used to avoid OHKOs from attacks such as All-Out Pummeling from Magmortar and +2 Tectonic Rage from Swords Dance Incineroar. Leftovers is the item of choice to give Regirock passive recovery, helping it last slightly longer during a match. The Attack investment allows Regirock to OHKO offensive Delphox and Aerodactyl with Stone Edge. The Special Defense investment on the other hand allows it to help check Fire-types such as Delphox and Magmortar while also giving the benefit of being able to take two Choice Specs Thunderbolts from Heliolisk a grand majority of the time. The rest of the EVs go into Defense to, along with an Impish nature and a gargantuan base Defense stat, allow Regirock to check multiple physically attacking threats such as Incineroar and Mega Glalie. Usage Tips Regirock can safely pivot into many key threats such as Sneasel and pivot Incineroar. It can easily use these Pokemon as an opportunity to set up Stealth Rock, and setting up Stealth Rock early on is crucial. When you predict Xatu to switch in, though, using a Rock-type STAB move is preferred. Although Regirock can safely pivot in on Fire-types, super effective coverage such as Earthquake from Incineroar, Grass Knot from Delphox, and Focus Blast from Magmortar should be taken into account as well. Toxic is best utilized when you predict that a Pokemon that Regirock can't take on too well, mainly defensive Water-types such as Vaporeon and Blastoise, as well as Grass-types like Decidueye and Alolan Exeggutor, will switch in. Team Options Dhelmise can easily take on Water-, Fighting-, and Ground-types that Regirock hates facing and provides Rapid Spin support to help against Regirock's vulnerability to entry hazards, while Regirock can handle Flying-, Ice-, and Fire-type Pokemon for it in return. Other Grass-types such as Whimsicott and Decidueye can provide similar defensive synergy. Water-type checks such as Blastoise, Druddigon, and Slowking are crucial, considering how badly Regirock performs against Water-types, especially bulky ones. Grass-type checks such as Incineroar, Golbat, and Ferroseed help out against Regirock's similarly poor matchup against the type. Wish users such as Vaporeon and Delphox can help with Regirock's lack of recovery. Vaporeon can also provide Heal Bell support, which helps with Regirock's vulnerability to burns and Toxic, and is immune to Water-type attacks thanks to Water Absorb. Spikes and Toxic Spikes users such as Weezing and Garbodor can form an entry hazard stacking core with Regirock. These two Pokemon in particular also resist Grass and Fighting, two types that Regirock is weak against. Pokemon that struggle with Fire-types such as Vikavolt and Comfey appreciate Regirock's ability to easily take them on. Similarly, Fighting-types like Medicham and Passimian appreciate Regirock's ability to take on Flying- and Poison-types like Sigilyph and Garbodor.

战术分析
Moves Regirock's main use is to set up Sunny Day. Explosion inflicts heavy damage on anything without a resistance to it while KOing Regirock in the process. Explosion's purpose is twofold: not only does Regirock KOing itself prevent Stealth Rock from being removed by slower users of Defog and Rapid Spin, but this also allows partners that take advantage of sun to enter battle safely. Regirock's Attack-invested STAB Stone Edge is effective for dealing with the Fire-, Bug-, Ice-, and Flying-types such as Simisear, Scyther, Jynx, and Oricorio-E that pose a threat to the Grass-types found on Sunny Day teams and can be utilized in matchups where it is better to preserve Regirock than to use Explosion. Set Details Sturdy guarantees that Regirock will be able to set up either Stealth Rock or Sunny Day. Heat Rock increases the number of turns that Sunny Day is active, thereby increasing the time sun sweepers are functioning at peak performance. Usage Tips Given that Sturdy is key to successfully setting up with Stealth Rock and Sunny Day, Regirock should be brought out early-game before the opponent can deactivate the ability via entry hazards. Switch Regirock out of Pokemon like Sableye and Jellicent that can either burn it with Will-O-Wisp or prevent it from supporting its teammates via Taunt. The momentum Regirock's Explosion provides is conducive to bringing in frail Chlorophyll sweepers like Victreebel and Shiftry for free, and it is generally a more effective method than hard switching into resisted attacks for starting a sweep. Regirock should use Explosion on the turn immediately following Sunny Day in order to maximize the number of turns its teammates can operate with sun in play, unless Regirock should be kept alive to combat Normal- or Flying-types like Kangaskhan and Oricorio-E. Kangaskhan in particular is important for sun teams to beat, as it wastes turns of Sunny Day via Fake Out. It can be advantageous to prioritize Sunny Day's use over Stealth Rock or vice versa; it is best to determine first whether the opposing team is weaker to sun sweepers or Stealth Rock and act accordingly. Sunny Day also has some defensive utility in matchups against offensive Water-types, as it reduces the damage of Water-type moves for Regirock and its Fire-type teammates. Team Options Sunny Day Regirock is intended to complement Chlorophyll-reliant sweepers and Fire-types that can use Sunny Day to maximum effect; therefore, this variant of Regirock only fits on dedicated sun-based teams. Fire-types like Simisear are most threatening when played in sun, as Sunny Day boosts the power of their STAB moves significantly. Additionally, Sunny Day effectively negates Simisear's weakness to Water-type attacks and enables the use of a single-turn Solar Beam against bulky Rock-types that would otherwise counter them, such as Carbink. In return, Simisear checks Grass- and Steel-types for Regirock, such as Tangela and Metang. Powerful Grass-type sweepers like Shiftry, Exeggutor, Victreebel, Sawsbuck, and Leafeon all capitalize on Regirock's Sunny Day by doubling their Speed via Chlorophyll, and they become much more difficult to revenge kill as a result. Additionally, Regirock further bolsters their effectiveness by laying Stealth Rock, which limits the number of times that opposing Fire-, Bug-, and Flying-types can pivot into these sweepers' Grass-type attacks. Given that Regirock uses Explosion after setting Sunny Day early-game, mid- and late-game setters of Sunny Day are required to provide sun-based teams with continued support. Prankster Volbeat and Liepard fulfill this role by setting up Sunny Day with priority. Volbeat in particular shares excellent synergy with Regirock due to its ability to pivot into Grass-, Ground-, and Fighting-type moves from Pokemon such as Bellossom, Alolan Dugtrio, and Hitmonchan. Lastly, Sunny Day setters with access to self-KOing moves like Memento and Healing Wish are useful partners to Regirock. For example, Alolan Dugtrio equipped with Sunny Day and Memento eases the setup of sun-based sweepers like Victreebel and Turtonator. Furthermore, it can use its STAB moves to threaten Pokemon that are problematic to sun-based teams such as Snow Warning Aurorus and Abomasnow.

Moves Stone Edge is a more powerful alternative to Rock Slide, but its accuracy and PP make it somewhat unreliable and it can be PP stalled by Pokemon such as Articuno. Drain Punch lets Regirock threaten Ice-types like Alolan Sandslash and Aurorus and Normal-types like Kangaskhan, and it gains notable recovery from the aforementioned targets as well as Primeape with lowered Defense. Earthquake is an alternative that deals more damage to targets like Aggron and Skuntank and can be used to threaten Qwilfish upon switch-in, but it notably worsens Regirock's hail matchup. Toxic is used to cripple Regirock's regular switch-ins and places a timer on setup sweepers that might attempt to take advantage of Regirock's passive nature. Toxic is also Regirock's most reliable means of dealing significant damage to bulky Ground-types like Mudsdale and other physically defensive Pokemon with recovery like Jellicent and Tangela. Protect can be used over Toxic to scout for Choice-locked Pokemon like Primeape and Stoutland and stall for extra Leftovers recovery. Set Details Clear Body is Regirock's ability of choice, as it blocks Parting Shot from Silvally formes and Alolan Persian. A Chople Berry can be used to reduce the damage of super effective Fighting-type moves, such as Primeape’s Close Combat. Maximum HP investment and 180 EVs in Defense along with an Impish nature prevent Regirock from being 2HKOed by Adamant Aggron's Choice Band-boosted Head Smash and Primeape’s unboosted Close Combat from full. Additionally, Regirock has a high chance to survive Zangoose's Close Combat, even after tanking its high-powered Facade. Its remaining EVs are allocated toward its Special Defense, which helps Regirock check Pokemon such as Oricorio-E. Usage Tips Use Regirock's massive Defense stat and Rock typing to pivot into resisted attacks from Pokemon like Kangaskhan and physically offensive Skuntank in order to set up Stealth Rock. If Stealth Rock is already on the field, Regirock can use this opportunity to attack or to weaken its switch-ins with Toxic. Even with Special Defense investment, Regirock can still be overrun by powerful wallbreakers such as Choice Specs Drampa so it is best to either use Protect to ease prediction against these Pokemon or switch out altogether. It is generally good practice with Regirock to switch out against incoming status moves, as effects like Toxic will severely reduce its longevity and consequently disallow Regirock to switch into the Pokemon that it was meant to check. Protect should be used when Regirock either has an opportunity to stall out foes afflicted with Toxic or is at risk of being KOed. However, be careful of using Protect too often, given its frequent use can supply Regirock's foes with free turns to set up and sweep or to lay entry hazards that would be detrimental to Regirock's longevity. Team Options In general, Regirock fits on balanced and bulky offensive teams and is effective in aiding sweepers and wallbreakers that function optimally with Stealth Rock support. For example, offensive partners that are able to pivot into and threaten Grass-types for Regirock by virtue of their typing or ability such as Drampa and Oricorio-G perform at their peak when Stealth Rock is up. Additionally, Drampa is able to use Regirock's weakness to Grass-type moves to gain momentum and fire off powerful attacks. Other Pokemon that resist Grass-type moves for Regirock, like Lurantis and Skuntank, remove entry hazards for it via Defog, which is crucial in preserving Regirock's longevity given its lack of reliable recovery. Skuntank in particular is effective in this capacity, as it absorbs Toxic Spikes for Regirock upon switching in. Checks to Ground-types share excellent synergy with Regirock; for example, Eelektross absorbs Ground-type moves via Levitate and checks Mudsdale and Simisear on Regirock's behalf. Given Regirock counters physically offensive Skuntank, Psychic-, Ghost-, and Grass-types that appreciate Skuntank's absence are ideal teammates.

Moves Stealth Rock is a great entry hazard, and Regirock is a solid setter, as Sturdy combined with impressive mixed bulk makes it very reliable. Sunny Day in conjunction with Heat Rock provides the team with eight turns of sun to utilize. Explosion is an incredibly powerful attack that hits everything but Ghost-types hard and can help get in sun sweepers safely after Regirock has set up Sunny Day. Stone Edge is a hard-hitting STAB move that allows Regirock to do damage without having to KO itself with Explosion. Set Details Maximum HP and Attack investment allows Regirock to hit as hard and be as bulky as possible. Heat Rock is necessary for this set to maximize the number of sun turns for the rest of the team. Sturdy essentially guarantees Regirock the ability to either set up Stealth Rock or Sunny Day at the start of a battle. Usage Tips This Regirock set is best used as a lead, as the ability to reliably set up Stealth Rock and Sunny Day at the beginning of a battle is hugely important for sun teams. If the opponent leads with a Pokemon that outspeeds and can 2HKO Regirock such as Samurott, Lilligant, or Primeape, it is likely you will have to choose between setting up Sunny Day and setting up Stealth Rock. In this situation, evaluate the opposing team, and if they are particularly weak to your sun sweepers, immediately set up Sunny Day. Conversely, if the opposing team is very weak to Stealth Rock or has too many checks and counters to your sun sweepers, it is to your benefit to set up Stealth Rock early and get your sun going in the following turns. Explosion can be used to provide a sun sweeper such as Victreebel or Exeggutor with a free switch in to start wreaking havoc or as a powerful last-ditch effort to remove an opposing Pokemon. Team Options Sun sweepers such as Victreebel, Exeggutor, Shiftry, Lilligant, and Vileplume all make for excellent partners alongside Regirock, as they can take full advantage of the sun that Regirock sets up and often just run through teams. Fire-types such as Magmortar, Pyroar, Combusken, and Charizard also greatly appreciate the sun that Regirock sets up, as it not only powers up their main STAB move by 1.5x but also cuts the damage of super effective Water-type attacks in half. Liepard is almost always seen with this Regirock set, as once the sun set by Regirock has faded, Liepard can reliably set up eight more turns with Prankster Sunny Day. Lastly, a grounded Poison-type such as Victreebel or Vileplume is almost required, as it can absorb the Toxic Spikes that plague not only Regirock but also its other sun sweeping teammates such as Lilligant and Exeggutor.

战术分析
Moves Stealth Rock is a terrific entry hazard, and due to Regirock's excellent bulk, it is one of the more consistent setters of it in the tier. Stone Edge is Regirock's most powerful STAB attack, allowing it to do the most damage possible to the Flying-, Fire-, and Normal-types it is meant to check. Alternatively, Rock Slide has higher accuracy and terrific synergy with Thunder Wave, as the two in conjunction create a paraflinch combination to wear opposing Pokemon down. Thunder Wave prevents offensive Pokemon such as Lilligant, Shiftry, and Klinklang from setting up on Regirock and has generally great utility in slowing down threats throughout a battle. Earthquake allows Regirock to hit opposing Poison-, Steel-, and Rock-types such as Garbodor, Klinklang, and Rhydon super effectively. Toxic can be used over Earthquake, as Pokemon that don't necessarily mind getting paralyzed, such as Mega Audino, Musharna, and Gourgeist, despise being inflicted with Toxic. Finally, Seismic Toss is a decent option which lets Regirock deal consistent damage to bulkier targets such as Steelix, Weezing, Ferroseed, and Piloswine. Set Details Maximum HP and 56 Special Defense EVs allow Regirock to avoid the 2HKO from Life Orb Pyroar's Hidden Power Grass after Stealth Rock. Similarly, 16 Defense EVs with an Impish nature let Regirock avoid a 2HKO from Life Orb Tauros's Iron Tail while also hitting a jump point. The rest of the available EVs are poured into Attack to allow Regirock to hit as hard as possible. Leftovers maximizes Regirock's survivability by granting it passive recovery. Chople Berry can also be used on teams that need extra insurance versus Fighting-types such as Primeape and Hitmonchan, as the item allows Regirock to survive even a Choice Band-boosted Close Combat from the two with ease and retaliate with a status move. Another option for Regirock is Custap Berry, which can net it some surprise KOs with Stone Edge or even let it get off a surprise Thunder Wave when under 25% HP. The item has excellent synergy with Sturdy and is fairly reliable, as Regirock gets worn down easily throughout a battle. Clear Body is the optimal ability for Regirock, as it allows it to block Memento from Skuntank and Mismagius, bypass Intimidates from Mawile, and avoid Special Defense drops from common attacks such as Shadow Ball and Psychic. Sturdy is also an option over Clear Body, as it allows Regirock to survive any attack from full HP. This can be especially useful when leading with Regirock, as it allows it to take attacks such as Samurott's Hydro Pump and Shiftry's Leaf Storm and proceed to either set up Stealth Rock or cripple the foe with status. Usage Tips Regirock should be used as a defensive tank that can switch into common Pokemon such as Kangaskhan, Tauros, Pyroar, Magmortar, Archeops, and Swellow and force them to switch out in fear of status or being KOed by STAB Stone Edge. Although Regirock does check all of these Pokemon individually, it will struggle to check several of them in the same battle due to its lack of reliable recovery, so only switch Regirock into these Pokemon when necessary. Beware of status coming from Pokemon Regirock can usually switch into, such as Will-O-Wisp from Pyroar and Charizard. If using Custap Berry, Regirock can trigger it by switching into entry hazards to get a surprise revenge kill. Once its HP is below 25%, saving Regirock for the late-game to get off a priority Thunder Wave is usually optimal. Do not blindly spam status moves; if the opponent has Pokemon such as Claydol or Steelix that is unaffected by Thunder Wave or Toxic, it is better to double switch into a teammate that can take advantage of these Pokemon and gain momentum. Team Options Grass-types such as Vileplume, Lilligant, and Ferroseed have excellent synergy with Regirock, as they resist the common Water- and Grass-type attacks often aimed at Regirock, while in turn, Regirock resists the Fire- and Flying-type attacks that threaten them. Regirock relies solely on Leftovers to stay healthy throughout a battle, so Wish passers such as Mega Audino make for great partners. Regirock can also easily switch in on Poison-types that threaten Mega Audino such as Garbodor and Skuntank. Psychic- and Ghost-types such as Mesprit, Xatu, and Rotom can help deal with the Fighting-types that threaten Regirock. Regirock is a very reliable status spreader, so slower Pokemon that appreciate Thunder Wave support such as Abomasnow, Kabutops, and Samurott work well with Regirock. These Pokemon in particular can all break through Steelix and Rhydon with ease, which otherwise give Regirock trouble.

Moves Diamond Storm is Regirock's preferred STAB move, dealing decent damage against most foes that don't resist it while having a nifty 50% chance to boost Regirock's Defense. U-turn is a great move for grabbing momentum, allowing Regirock to exploit its low Speed to give teammates a free switch. Sacred Fire allows Regirock to cripple physical attackers like Mega Mewtwo X on the switch, as well as allowing it to threaten Shedinja somewhat. However, Nuzzle is also an option to cripple offensive Pokemon in general. Knock Off has obvious, general utility; notably, it allows Regirock to neuter the offensive power of threats carrying Life Orb or other boosting items, as well as removing Eviolite from Chansey and stopping Toxic Orbs on the switch. Knock Off also discourages cleric support alongside Poison Heal users even once their Toxic Orbs are set—while the poisoning initially remains, removing the Toxic Orb means that Poison Heal will stop working if your opponent elects to use Heal Bell or Aromatherapy. Finally, Infestation is another option to surprise Shedinja if you opt against running Sacred Fire. Set Details The EV spread given allows Regirock to always avoid the 2HKO from Adamant Sky Plate Mega Rayquaza's Thousand Arrows or Boomburst after Stealth Rock. It also affords Regirock the ability to check Mega Gengar in a pinch, as it is not OHKOed by +2 Spooky Plate Judgment or Secret Sword. However, if Mega Gengar carries Spore, Regirock will struggle to check it. The rest of the EVs are poured into Attack in order to give Regirock as much offensive presence as possible. Regenerator enables Regirock to recover passively without wasting turns to do so, while Assault Vest buffs up its relatively low Special Defense and synergizes well with Regenerator. Usage Tips Regirock thrives on forced switches; U-turn, Sacred Fire, Nuzzle, and Knock Off are all tools that you can capitalize upon and grab momentum or cripple the foe. Because of Regirock's demonstrable efficacy in crippling foes on the switch, it's a good idea to identify the members of your opponent's team that Regirock can force out and exploit to the fullest. Early-game, it's also a good idea to make copious use of U-turn to identify what the opponent's strongest answer to Regirock is. Even later on in the game, U-turn is a great, safe option to snag momentum against foes that Regirock walls. Because Regirock is incredibly susceptible to status, you should scout around to identify which members of the opposing team can burn it or put it to sleep and act accordingly—getting hit with either of these statuses can leave Regirock functionally useless. Finally, if you opt to use Infestation, this should be hidden against opponents running Sturdy Shedinja until you can bait the Shedinja to come in on Regirock's attacks; otherwise, a smart opponent will simply pivot out and make it quite difficult to land the Infestation. Team Options Poison Heal Giratina makes for a fantastic teammate to Regirock. Not only can it counter an Imposter of Regirock with ease, but it also boasts excellent defensive synergy with Regirock and can soak up status for it. In addition, Regirock's slow U-turn gives Giratina an easy way to activate its Toxic Orb or nab an extra turn of Poison Heal recovery. If Regirock doesn't run Infestation, a Mold Breaker Pokemon with Pursuit such as Mega Gengar, Giratina, or Mega Gyarados can also be very useful to take care of Shedinja, once again capitalizing on Regirock's U-turn to ease prediction. Entry hazard control is essential to Regirock's success, making a solid Defogger such as Giratina or Registeel an excellent teammate. Ideally, Regirock would also appreciate entry hazards down on the opponent's field to capitalize on with its U-turn; however, as keeping hazards off of its own side of the field is the primary concern and Defog is the most reliable way to do this, stacking hazards is often forced to take a back seat. Another way to limit hazards is with a Magic Bounce user (again, Giratina and Registeel are prime contenders), which can also be useful to redirect the status that Regirock attracts like a magnet; however, Mold Breaker can easily bypass it. While Regirock is certainly bulky, it struggles to switch in against Pixilate and, to a lesser extent, Refrigerate attackers such as Mega Diancie and Kyurem-B. Therefore, a secondary check to these two must be included as a teammate. However, Regirock's alleviation of the pressure from Aerilate allows greater flexibility in checking the other two –ate Pokemon. Finally, a cleric such as Registeel or Mega Audino is a good idea for a teammate, preventing Regirock from becoming dead weight if put to sleep or burned unexpectedly, although it synergizes poorly with Poison Heal on other teammates.

This is Regirock's best set in the current metagame. With its excellent defensive capabilities and viable offensive presence, Regirock makes a great Stealth Rock user and status spreader for any kind of team. Stone Edge hits very hard off of Regirock's high Attack stat, 2HKOing many non-physically defensive Pokemon at the least. However, if power isn't an issue, Rock Slide is still a great alternative given its higher PP and accuracy. Drain Punch provides fantastic coverage alongside Regirock's Rock-type attack of choice, smacking the likes of Bastiodon, Probopass, and Lickilicky hard. It also provides beneficial recovery, something Regirock lacks a reliable source of. The last slot is dedicated to Regirock's status move of choice. Toxic is great for crippling Pokemon Regirock has a hard time getting by, such as Golurk, Alomomola, and Tangela, while Thunder Wave works great for hampering Regirock's prominent switch-ins, such as Sawk and Primeape, accommodates for its middling Speed, and pairs excellently with Rock Slide's flinch chance. In the last slot, Curse is a decent alternative if you prefer Regirock to combat boosting sweepers better, most notably Bulk Up Braviary, and is generally useful to improve Regirock's damage output and Defense stat. However, note that this leaves Regirock completely walled by the omnipresent Golurk. Rocky Helmet is a reasonable alternative to Leftovers if you prefer to punish physical attackers, such as Miltank and Swellow, even further. In terms of the EV spread, it focuses on helping Regirock tank hits and dish attacks out hard, as well as outpacing max Speed Torkoal. An Impish nature is preferred to help with the physical threats that Regirock is meant to check better, as an Adamant nature generally doesn't help Regirock score any notable kills. Given that Regirock lacks any sort of reliable recovery, Wish support is greatly appreciated. Lickilicky and Audino are great in this department, as they help deal with the special onslaughts Regirock often comes across and can provide Heal Bell support in the event that Regirock is crippled with status. It's also recommended to use Pokemon that capitalize on Regirock's weaknesses. Exeggutor is a great option, as it resists Regirock's common Fighting-, Water-, Grass-, and Ground-type weaknesses, and Regirock can assist with its Fire- and Flying-type weaknesses. Ludicolo is also a great choice to look into, resisting Regirock's Ground- and Water-type weaknesses, and reasonably deals with Golurk, Regirock's main nemesis. Golurk itself is also an excellent partner, being immune to Regirock's Fighting-type weakness. It should be noted that Choice Band Golurk and specially defensive Ludicolo make a very effective balanced core with Regirock.

With Stealth Rock almost an absolute necessity on every team, Regirock is a reliable and consistent Stealth Rock user. It defeats Cryogonal one on one, meaning that spinblocking against Cryogonal isn't compulsory as you could switch Regirock in as Cryogonal uses Rapid Spin and just set it back up again. Rock Slide is chosen as the STAB move over Stone Edge thanks to its higher PP and better accuracy to deal consistent damage; it also OHKOes both Moltres and Cryogonal. Thunder Wave and Toxic are both secondary support options to cater to teams. Thunder Wave slows down sweepers and other offensive threats such as Durant and Stoutland, whereas Toxic is an option for use on defensive teams looking to stall out foes and to cripple many of Regirock's common switch-ins, such as Lanturn and Gallade. Protect can be used in the fourth slot to scout for moves such as Medicham's High Jump Kick while letting Regirock heal with Leftovers and helps Regirock to check Fire-types more reliably in the long run. Protect helps to stall out foes with poison damage from Toxic. Earthquake is yet another reliable attacking move that dents Kabutops and Steel-type switch-ins such as Steelix and Aggron. A specially defensive EV spread allows Regirock to handle Fire-type behemoths such as Moltres, and Regirock still has plenty of physical bulk even without investment. Here are some damage calculations to demonstrate Regirock's huge special bulk and its still-high physical bulk: 252 SpA Life Orb Moltres Hidden Power Grass 38.46 - 45.6% 252 SpA Life Orb Moltres Fire Blast 24.72 - 29.12% 252 Atk Choice Band Hustle Durant Iron Head 77.47 - 91.2% Moltres can manage a maximum of 74.7% damage in total with one Fire Blast and Hidden Power Grass. Thus, bar a critical hit or burn, Regirock needs about 62% HP after entry hazards to check Moltres if Regirock has Protect. Specially defensive Regirock is no slouch physically either, as shown by Choice Band Durant's failure to OHKO it from full health. Wish support from teammates such as Clefable and Alomomola are good options to keep Regirock healthy as it often needs to be at high HP to be able to check the aforementioned threats. Rapid Spin support from Cryogonal, ironically, is also helpful as Regirock has no reliable recovery and appreciates the removal of hazards. However, this compounds your team's Fighting-type weakness, so Ghost-types such as Rotom and Spiritomb, bulky Poison-types such as Qwilfish and Amoonguss, and Psychic-types such as Mesprit and Uxie will come in handy. Other Grass-types, such as Tangrowth and Roselia, are also good teammates as they resist Water- and Grass-type attacks; the latter can also provide further entry hazard support. Aside from defensive teammates, offensive Pokemon such as Moltres and Lilligant are also good teammates as they can capitalize on the status spread by Regirock and fall back on its defenses if they fail to pull off a sweep. Stone Edge is an option over Rock Slide for added power, but it can be stalled out easily by SubRoost Moltres and has poorer accuracy. Rock Slide is often enough as it is usually used against foes weak to it.

Regirock's Rock typing is a huge boon for sun teams. It pairs well with many sun sweepers as it can take Fire-type attacks targeting Grass-type sweepers while also resisting common priority moves or being bulky enough to sponge them. Many priority users, such as Extreme Speed Entei, Belly Drum Linoone, and Swords Dance Absol, threaten sun teams due to their sweepers' frailty. Regirock is able to check the aforementioned Pokemon. It also benefits from sun as its Water weakness is negated, and its natural Fire resistance lets it shrug off even sun-boosted attacks. Regirock can set up not only Sunny Day, but also Stealth Rock, and is thus a good utility teammate for sun teams. It can often set up Sunny Day more than once when needed, as it has the defenses to keep itself healthy enough for another setup. Rock Slide is the main STAB move used, often to check opposing Fire-types hoping to take advantage of sun-boosted Fire-type attacks. However, when relying on Regirock to check Fire-types, be wary of the occasional Solar Beam from Pokemon such as Typhlosion. Rock Slide is also useful for dealing with Cryogonal, a common Rapid Spin user. Fire Punch receives pseudo-STAB from sun, where it is just as powerful and even more reliable than Rock Slide. Escavalier and Durant are both notable foes that Fire Punch works extremely well against, and the former is often even slower than Regirock as it usually does not invest in Speed. Explosion, however, is a usable last resort to deal damage while bringing in another teammate safely, possibly paving a way for a sweep. A specially defensive EV spread enables Regirock to tank special hits more comfortably as it already has sufficient physical bulk. It also allows Regirock to sponge common special Water-type attacks such as Scald, and physical ones aren't going to break through Regirock while weakened by sun. As with all dedicated sun inducers, Heat Rock is used to prolong the sun. Thunder Wave is another option to support the team as it slows down foes, which can be helpful in the event that the sun is out. Toxic deters opponents from stalling out sun with Protect, though Thunder Wave is usually the better option for an offensive sun team. Stone Edge can be considered for added power over Rock Slide. For other great Sunny Day users as teammates, Uxie is a good partner and complements Regirock, as it resists Fighting and is immune to Ground. Furthermore, with Regirock taking care of Stealth Rock, Uxie will be able to free up a moveslot for another support move such as Heal Bell. Sun sweepers are definitely compulsory teammates. Victreebel, Exeggutor, Moltres, and Sawsbuck are common sun sweepers. However, defensive sun-reliant teammates such as Harvest Exeggutor are also usable, though less common.

战术分析
With Rock Polish and a Life Orb, Regirock can be surprisingly effective offensively. Although it lacks the power to OHKO most Pokemon unless it hits them super effectively or uses Explosion, it does outspeed and 2HKO most of the metagame after a boost, and its excellent natural bulk makes it difficult to revenge kill even without any defensive investment. This set faces some competition from Rhydon, which gets STAB on Earthquake and hits significantly harder overall, but Regirock is able to set up much more easily and is significantly harder to revenge kill due to its greater bulk, lack of 4x weaknesses, and ability to outspeed many common Choice Scarf users after boosting its Speed. Regirock also has Explosion to almost guarantee that it will KO at least one foe even if it isn't able to sweep, although it can use Ice Punch in the final moveslot instead if you want Regirock to be able to muscle past Ground-types without sacrificing itself. A Jolly nature allows Regirock to outspeed Choice Scarf Medicham, Gardevoir, and Shiftry and Speed tie with Choice Scarf Magmortar, all of which can OHKO Regirock after it's taken any damage from Stealth Rock or Life Orb recoil. On the other hand, an Adamant nature gives Regirock the power to 2HKO walls such as Slowking and Cradily with Stone Edge without needing them to take entry hazard damage first, although Spikes support from Cacturne or Glalie can help make that a moot point. If Regirock lacks Explosion, it will be unable to break through physically bulky Ground-, Water-, and Grass-types like Poliwrath, Quagsire, and Meganium, so it needs a teammate that can switch in on them such as Victreebel or Vileplume. Conversely, a Regirock that has Explosion is likely to use it against those targets, potentially opening up a sweeping opportunity for a teammate such as Floatzel or Tauros.

With this set, Regirock is a very reliable pivot and Stealth Rock setter that fits well on just about any offensive or balanced team. It easily switches in on common threats like Charizard and Tauros and can set up Stealth Rock multiple times per match. It's no mere passive entry hazard setter, however; with non-trivial Attack investment, Regirock's STAB Stone Edge is actually quite difficult to switch in on without a resistance. Earthquake provides perfect neutral coverage alongside Stone Edge and gives Regirock a more accurate attack to finish off weakened foes without risking Stone Edge's 20% chance to miss. If you're willing to give up Earthquake's coverage, Thunder Wave is always a useful move to cripple opposing offensive Pokemon and assist your own wallbreakers. If you opt for Thunder Wave in this slot, Rock Slide becomes a decent alternative to Stone Edge, as its flinch rate pairs nicely with paralysis, and it gives Regirock more than Stone Edge's 8 PP to work with. Explosion is the move that truly sets Regirock apart from other bulky Pokemon; it prevents Regirock from losing momentum when faced with a counter and allows it to almost always trade efficiently. Leftovers is great for any bulky pivot and is the most consistently useful item for Regirock, but there are some viable alternatives for more offensive teams that don't expect Regirock to stick around for too long. Custap Berry allows a weakened Regirock to throw out a last-ditch Stealth Rock or Explosion against a faster Pokemon before being KOed, and it's fairly easy for Regirock to activate given its excellent overall bulk. If you're using Regirock as your lead, Lum Berry is a good option to prevent it from being put to sleep on the first turn by Jynx or Venomoth. 252 HP EVs improve Regirock's overall bulk, most notably making it very unlikely to be 2HKOed by Choice Band Tauros's Earthquake after Stealth Rock damage. 144 Attack EVs and an Adamant nature give Regirock enough power to always break Poliwrath's Substitute with Earthquake, preventing it from setting up on Regirock for free, and to almost always 2HKO Tauros with Stone Edge. 112 Special Defense EVs ensure that Choice Specs Charizard and Typhlosion will almost never OHKO Regirock with Focus Blast and that Life Orb Charizard's Focus Blast will never OHKO even after Stealth Rock damage. If you're using Rock Slide and Thunder Wave instead of Stone Edge and Earthquake, you may want to shift some more of the Attack EVs into Special Defense to help Regirock counter Pokemon like Life Orb Charizard and Substitute + Calm Mind Drifblim more consistently. On the other hand, if your team doesn't need Regirock to switch in on special attackers, maximizing Regirock's Attack is also a viable option that allows it to do serious damage to Pokemon like Hitmonchan and Nidoqueen that think they can switch in for free. This set works best on offensive-leaning teams, where it's meant to pivot in on Normal- and Fire-types a couple of times, set up Stealth Rock, fire off an attack or two, and then use Explosion to get a KO and safely bring in a sweeper. Most teams will want to have at least one other bulky Pokemon to switch in on the threats that Regirock can't handle. Slowking is a great partner that counters many of the Pokemon that give Regirock trouble, such as Poliwrath, Hitmonchan, and Gligar; this pairing is the most popular core in NU. Due to its lack of a recovery move, Regirock is prone to being worn down and therefore shouldn't be your team's only answer to Fire-types and Tauros, since they can work together to break past it. Slowking or another bulky Water-type can provide defensive backup against Fire-types, but more fast-paced teams can instead rely on an offensive check like Floatzel, Tauros, or Ninetales as your secondary method of keeping opposing Fire-types in line.

Regirock is the perfect mid-game Sunny Day user for dedicated sun teams. Its bulk allows it to reliably set up both Stealth Rock and Sunny Day, and it can follow that up with Explosion to get out of the way so one of your sweepers can come in safely. It also naturally checks opposing Fire-types like Choice Scarf Typhlosion that might otherwise be able to use the harsh sunlight to countersweep you. Ideally, Regirock will only stay on the battlefield long enough to set up and then sacrifice itself, but its powerful Stone Edge is still useful in a few scenarios, such as when there is one turn of sun remaining and you need to burn a turn before setting it up again, or when faced with a Ghost-type that would otherwise set up a free Substitute. The straightforward EV spread gives Regirock enough bulk to reliably set up both Stealth Rock and Sunny Day while maximizing the power of its Explosion, almost guaranteeing that it will KO any target that doesn't resist it. You can shift some of the Attack EVs into Special Defense if you want to make it even easier for Regirock to set up, but keep in mind that this set really only wants to survive for three turns before ceding the stage to a Sunny Day sweeper. This set obviously belongs on a dedicated Sunny Day team. Victreebel and Shiftry are by far the two most dangerous Chlorophyll sweepers, and every sun team should carry at least one, if not both, of them. Fast Fire-types such as Choice Scarf Typhlosion are also good choices, since the sun powers up their STAB attacks but they aren't as dependent on it as Chlorophyll sweepers are, meaning they can act as a wincon even if you aren't able to keep sunlight active. Your sun team should also include at least two additional Sunny Day users, including one that can lead, since Regirock is too slow to set up Sunny Day against common Taunt leads. Persian and Jumpluff are much safer Sunny Day leads that outspeed most other leads and can use Taunt or Sleep Powder to keep opposing entry hazards out of play. Outside of the lead slot, Skuntank, Lickilicky, and Hypno are all good options for your third Sunny Day setter.

Investing fully in Regirock's Special Defense makes it a more reliable counter to Fire-types and a great Stealth Rock setter for defensive teams. This set faces competition from Cradily, which not only can check some of the same Pokemon and set up Stealth Rock, but also has access to Recover. However, Regirock's resistances to Fire and Flying make it a better counter to Pokemon like Choice Specs Typhlosion and Choice Band Dodrio that are otherwise very difficult to switch into. Regirock's access to Thunder Wave and Explosion also makes it less of a momentum killer than Cradily, since opponents must respect the possibility that their switch-in will be crippled by one of those moves. Toxic is this set's best way to deal meaningful damage to most of its switch-ins and fits well on defensive teams. Protect stalls for additional Leftovers recovery and Toxic damage, scouts Choice item users, and punishes Medicham that think they can break through Regirock with High Jump Kick. Balanced teams may prefer to forgo Toxic and Protect in favor of Thunder Wave alongside either Explosion or Earthquake. Thunder Wave pairs well with Rock Slide's flinch rate, and it punishes offensive Pokemon that think they can switch in relatively freely on Rock Slide, such as Medicham and Shiftry. Explosion OHKOes most of the metagame despite this set's lack of Attack investment, and it prevents Pokemon like Poliwrath and Whiscash from setting up on Regirock. On the other hand, Earthquake prevents Pokemon like Nidoqueen and opposing Regirock from switching in and setting up their own entry hazards for free. On teams that have cleric support, Rest is also an option in the final moveslot that allows Regirock to continue countering its targets throughout the match without relying on Wish support for recovery. Maximizing Regirock's Special Defense allows it to counter all specially attacking Fire-types so long as it doesn't switch in on a Choice Specs-boosted Focus Blast. However, if Regirock is your team's only answer to Tauros, you can shift 52 EVs into Defense to ensure that its Choice Band-boosted Earthquake will never 2HKO Regirock after Stealth Rock damage. Since Regirock lacks a recovery move, Wish support is very useful to help it stay healthy, especially on stall teams. Lickilicky is the tier's best Wish passer, although it shares a Fighting-type weakness with Regirock that other teammates will need to handle. Gardevoir and Hypno are the tier's other notable Wish users, but they can be risky to use on stall teams due to their weakness to Pursuit. Cleric support from a teammate like Lickilicky, Vileplume, Meganium, or Grumpig is also helpful, especially if Regirock has Rest. Regirock needs a teammate that can handle Ground- and Fighting-types, especially if Rock Slide is its only attacking move. Slowking is a great teammate on balanced teams, but it's less popular on stall due to its Pursuit weakness and its inability to truly counter Fighting-types with Thunder Punch and Ground-types with boosting moves. Sableye and Dusclops are stall teams' best answers to Fighting-types, while Meganium is an excellent counter to Ground-types. It's also worth keeping in mind that Regirock shouldn't be your team's only response to Fire-types and Tauros, as they can work together to wear Regirock down due to its lack of reliable recovery. Your team should have at least one other Pokemon that can switch in on Fire-types or reliably revenge kill them.

战术分析
The idea of this set is to come in on a Pokemon who doesn't threaten Regirock, such as Heatran, Zapdos, or Weavile, and start setting up. After a Curse or two, Regirock will be able to take even super effective physical attacks with over half of its HP remaining. Should your opponent's special attackers be gone, Regirock will become hard to stop. When Regirock is running low on health, it can just Rest off the damage, wake up instantly thanks to Chesto Berry, and attempt a sweep. When using Regirock, it's inevitable that it will be compared to Tyranitar. Regirock has its advantages, however; it has superior Defense, lacks the 4x weakness to Fighting-type attacks, and doesn't have a weakness to Bug-type attacks. This enables it to come out on top against Gyarados, Dragonite, Lucario, and Scizor, all of whom Tyranitar loses to. Stone Edge is an option over Rock Slide, as the extra power is sometimes helpful at the cost of less PP. In the last slot, Sleep Talk is an option, as it allows Regirock to use Rest more than once without becoming set up bait, and lets it use Leftovers instead of Chesto Berry. Running Stone Edge becomes more viable due to Sleep Talk consuming PP for Stone Edge; however, running Sleep Talk over Earthquake gives Regirock a much harder time against Steel-types. The EVs can also be tweaked by investing in either more Defense or Attack should you want more physical bulk or attacking power, respectively.

This set focuses on Regirock's ability to check numerous threats in the UU metagame, while also being able to pose a threat offensively. Regirock's excellent Defense aids it in countering and checking many physical sweepers. Additionally, Regirock can use its impressive bulk to aid its team through its support moves. Stone Edge and Earthquake create the famous EdgeQuake combination, which provides great type coverage, backed by Regirock's respectable Attack stat. Stealth Rock is secured a spot in the third slot because it allows Regirock to provide some team support while also taking advantage of Regirock's ability to set it up reliably. Explosion differentiates Regirock from Pokemon such as Rhyperior and Aggron. A well-timed Explosion can turn the tide of a match by eliminating a problem Pokemon your team may have trouble facing. Stone Edge is best used with Earthquake, as 8 PP is too little to rely on for a wall such as Regirock. Earthquake also gives Regirock a way to hit Steelix and Registeel, as well as Fighting-types. However, paralysis support is always useful, and if Thunder Wave is chosen over Earthquake, then Rock Slide becomes the superior option over Stone Edge. With Rock Slide, Regirock will not have PP issues, and also gains access to a nice flinch chance. An alternative to Thunder Wave is Toxic, which can severely cripple Pokemon such as Milotic and Donphan as they switch in. If you already have a reliable Stealth Rock user, such as Mesprit or Uxie, Toxic can go in the third slot to complement either Earthquake or Thunder Wave. Rest can be used over Explosion to ensure Regirock sticks around a bit longer; however, it would be wise to pair Regirock with a cleric such as Chansey or Clefable so it's not a sitting duck. With the given EV spread, Regirock can comfortably defeat powerful threats such as Mismagius and Houndoom, never being OHKOed by a +2 Hidden Power Fighting or Dark Pulse, respectively. If a more hard-hitting Regirock is desired, an alternative EV spread of 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD Adamant may be used, but Regirock now has a decent chance of being OHKOed by Timid Life Orb Alakazam's Focus Blast and Nasty Plot Houndoom's +2 Dark Pulse. Finally, another alternative EV spread of 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 SpD with a Careful nature can be used to fully maximize Regirock's special tanking abilities, made better if used in a sandstorm. Regirock can also check Pokemon such as Blaziken and Moltres. Blaziken only causes trouble if Regirock is weakened, or if Blaziken runs rare moves such as Focus Blast or Swords Dance. With its amazing defenses, Regirock can switch into Moltres, OHKOing it with its STAB Rock-type move of choice. Regirock really enjoys having a Grass-type to sponge Water-, Grass-, and Ground-type attacks thrown at it. Pokemon such as Venusaur provide nice support for Regirock by bringing down bulky Water-types. Altaria is another Pokemon who can be of use, as it is resistant to Fighting- and Water-type attacks and immune to Ground-type attacks. Both of these Pokemon have instant recovery moves, so Regirock can form a solid defensive core with them. Mismagius can take advantage of Regirock's ability to lure Ground- and Fighting-type attacks, as it can switch into them with impunity. Weezing also makes a great partner as it resists Regirock's Grass- and Fighting-type weaknesses, and is immune to Ground-type attacks. Wish support is greatly appreciated because of Regirock's lack of a reliable recovery move. Chansey makes a good Wish passer to pair with Regirock, as it lures out physical attackers for Regirock to switch into. Leafeon makes a decent alternative Wish passer, possessing great defensive synergy with Regirock. With Explosion, Regirock can punch some major holes in the opponent's team, allowing another Pokemon to sweep. Bulky Water-types like to switch into Regirock and attempt to force it out with STAB Surf. However, Regirock can absorb the Surf and Explode, eliminating said bulky Water-type. Pokemon such as Dragon Dance Feraligatr and Azumarill benefit greatly from these Pokemon being removed from the battle, and thus make good partners for Regirock.

As a Rock Polish user, Regirock can work in two different ways. On the one hand, Regirock can play exactly the same as Rock Polish Rhyperior and Torterra as an offensive late-game sweeper. On the other hand, Regirock can also lure in its main counters, Milotic and other bulky Water-types, and blow them away with Explosion, opening the door for another sweeper to come in and finish the job. For the other two slots, Stone Edge and Earthquake come together to form the famous EdgeQuake combo, giving Regirock almost perfect neutral coverage in UU outside of Torterra and Claydol. If using Regirock as a sweeper, an Adamant nature and Life Orb are recommended in order to give Regirock as much power as possible. If using Regirock as a lure, a Jolly nature and Passho Berry are recommended instead to guarantee that Regirock outpaces Milotic, survives Surf or Hydro Pump if need be, and eliminates it with Explosion. Regirock literally doesn't have anything else worth using in the last slot besides Explosion. Superpower or Brick Break could be used to gain super effective coverage on Normal-types, but most times Stone Edge and Earthquake will be sufficient, and Regirock really doesn't like the power drop from Superpower. If you're not planning on Exploding Regirock at the first sign of a bulky Water-type, teammates who can eliminate them in a cleaner manner are recommended. Venusaur is a great teammate to switch into Water-types and blast them with a super effective Leaf Storm; Venusaur is also a good answer to both Claydol and Torterra, who resist both Stone Edge and Earthquake. Stealth Rock and Spikes support are also appreciated to pick up Regirock a couple of secured KOs against bulkier threats. With both forms of support, Life Orb Regirock can easily 2HKO Milotic with Stone Edge. Cloyster and Qwilfish can both provide Spikes support while Uxie and Miltank are both good options for Stealth Rock. Finally, if you decide to blast Milotic with Explosion, then a teammate who can capitalize on its absence is crucial. Dragon Dance Feraligatr and Choice Band Azumarill can both wreck teams without a bulky Water-type, as can Blaziken and Arcanine.

战术分析
This set abuses Regirock's bulk to set up for a late-game sweep. With its excellent defenses, aided by RestTalk recovery, Regirock will have no trouble setting up Curse. After a couple of Curses, the opponent will likely not be able to KO Regirock with any Pokemon who can survive a boosted Rock Slide. This set reaches its full potential in a sandstorm, especially as the last Pokemon standing so that it can't be forced out. With incredible Defense as well as decent Attack and Special Defense, Regirock can set up six Curses quite easily and sweep your opponent's team. Rock Slide is chosen as the single attack due to its high PP, whereas Stone Edge might be more powerful but runs out too quickly. Since Regirock already boasts an insane Defense stat, Regirock's EVs should be put into Special Defense and HP (its Special Defense also receives a boost from sandstorm). Leftovers is the preferred item, but Chesto Berry allows Regirock to instantly wake up upon using Rest, allowing it to sweep and prevent itself from becoming setup fodder. This variant of Regirock needs a Pokemon who can set up permanent sandstorm. Without sandstorm in play, Regirock struggles to take powerful special hits. Unfortunately, Hippopotas is the only option in UU. This Regirock has trouble against Steelix and Donphan, who have great Defense, STAB Earthquake, and Roar to force Regirock out. Pokemon such as Nidoking, Magmortar, and Blaziken can OHKO Steelix, Donphan, and other walls who may be in Regirock's way; however, Magmortar and Blaziken lack sandstorm immunity, so Nidoking is preferred. Unfortunately, all three share an Earthquake weakness with Regirock. Haze Milotic is a big nuisance to Regirock, as it prevents it from setting up. Venusaur makes a fantastic partner, as it can easily switch in on Milotic and threaten it with STAB Grass-type attacks. Regirock should be wary of setting up until Encore and Trick users have been eliminated. Common users of these moves include Alakazam, Clefable, and Uxie. Drapion with Pursuit can be a great partner due to its ability to eliminate common Psychic-type Trick users, and can set up Toxic Spikes to aid Regirock's sweep. Drapion may also utilize Taunt and wear down Clefable as well.

Physical attacking Regirock aims to hit its usual counters hard with boosted attacks. Stone Edge nails any Pokemon who doesn't resist it, and deals respectable damage even when resisted. Earthquake and Ice Punch hit Steel-types and Ground-types, respectively. When Regirock has run its course, Explosion makes sure it takes out another Pokemon before it bites the dust. Stone Edge is Regirock's main STAB attack, and will dent almost everything that does not resist it. Earthquake is a nice coverage move which hits Steelix for super effective damage and also takes care of Registeel quite easily. Ice Punch is there to KO Pokemon such as Torterra and Claydol, who completely wall Stone Edge and Earthquake. A boosted Explosion is extremely powerful, easily KOing any wall without a resistance or immunity to it. Regirock takes advantage of Pokemon such as Houndoom and Arcanine who give Regirock a free opportunity to switch in. Venusaur is probably the best partner for this Regirock set, as it lures these Fire-types, and is also able to take hits from the bulky Water-type Pokemon who give this set trouble. With Houndoom and Arcanine out of the way, Grass-types and Pokemon susceptible to priority, such as Alakazam or Absol, have a much easier time sweeping.

Sunny Day Regirock is a surprisingly sound strategy; it reduces the damage Regirock takes from Water-type attacks, allowing it to actually beat several of its typical switch-ins, open up a sweep for a Fire-type, such as Typhlosion, or a Chlorophyll user, such as Victreebel, as well as boost the offensive prowess of its teammates in general. In addition to this, Regirock makes a great Stealth Rock supporter, which further facilitates the sweep of said teammates. Regirock is also a fine switch-in to the Fire- and Flying-types that usually trouble a team that revolves around the harsh sunlight, and can quickly dispatch them with its STAB Rock-type attacks. Ghost-types intending to switch into Explosion are also made wary because of its powerful STAB moves. A Heat Rock is the item of choice, prolonging the effects of Sunny Day, and giving Regirock's teammates the best chances of success. The EV spread is simple; HP is maximized for bulk, Attack EVs ensure that Milotic is always OHKOed by Explosion, and the rest are sent into Special Defense for some added leeway against special attackers such as Houndoom. A dedicated specially defensive spread can be used so that Regirock has the bulk to repeatedly set up Sunny Day throughout the match. If such a spread is used, it is recommended that you replace Explosion with Earthquake, as it would be a bit wasteful to just blow up that much beef... err rock. Fire-types, Chlorophyll users, and basically any Pokemon that can benefit from Sunny Day make great teammates to Regirock. Tangrowth deserves special mention for its ability to switch into Donphan, opposing Regirock, and Rhyperior with ease. Typhlosion and Arcanine are amazing partners as well, as both of them benefit from the removal of Water-types such as Milotic and Azumarill, making a potent Choice set much more viable.

Simply switch this into a Pokemon Regirock isn't afraid of, such as Snorlax, and start setting up with Curse. Suicune or some similar Water-type will usually switch in to ruin your fun; this is when Regirock should Explode. A Curse-boosted Explosion will take out basically every Water-type, and Regirock can often survive a Surf from most of them. The other option is Rest, which helps Regirock stick around for longer. Rock Slide can help flinch a Skarmory using Whirlwind. As usual, focus on HP and Attack for bulk and power. However, emphasis should be placed on Special Defense as Curse will boost Regirock's Defense to the point where, after a few Curse boosts, non-STAB Earthquakes will do a pittance to it. Do keep in mind that Regirock has decent Special Defense and can survive attacks such as unboosted Suicune's Surf and Zapdos's Thunderbolt.

While Regirock's stats might seem more defense-oriented, it does have some great attacking moves. Superpower works much like Focus Punch, but requires less prediction and can be used several times before Regirock is forced to switch out. Hidden Power Rock is superior to Rock Slide on this set as it does more damage; Regirock is too slow to take advantage of the latter's flinch chance. In fact, the only notable Pokemon it outspeeds is Snorlax, who is hit harder by Superpower. The only reason to use Rock Slide would be to run Hidden Power Bug, which OHKOes Celebi, surprises other Grass-types, and does decent damage to Claydol. However, it is mostly inferior to the other moves. Again, maximize HP and Attack, and go with Adamant for a further Attack boost.

战术分析
Bring Regirock in against the likes of Tauros and Aerodactyl, on a move other than Earthquake. Focus Punch hits almost everything that resists Rock Slide at least neutrally; however, a notable exception is Claydol. Rock Slide should be used along with Thunder Wave, as this will give them a high chance to do nothing with paralysis and the flinch chance. Counter is a great move with Focus Punch, however, as it forces opponents into guessing games as to whether to attack, set up, or switch. Thunder Wave should usually be the first move Regirock uses, because paralysis is always handy. Remember, Regirock's massive Defense allows it to take even STAB Earthquake and retaliate with Counter for the KO. If it lacks Counter, though, this set faces obvious problems with Claydol and Flygon, as all it will be able to do is use Explosion. Considering Regirock's nice Attack stat, it can blow up many threats. The spread is simple and straightforward: maximize HP and Attack. An Adamant nature is recommended, but Impish is also viable thanks to its massive Defense. Note that, due to its titanic Defense and low HP, one should never give Regirock Defense EVs before investing in HP.

Regirock's titanic Defense allows it to take Swagger-boosted hits from most Pokemon, and also screws with the enemy by potentially forcing them to hit themselves in confusion. Regirock can then use Psych Up to copy Swagger's Attack boost, and proceed to attack appropriately. Psych Up also works perfectly alongside Superpower by getting rid of Superpower's stat drops. This set must be used with Spikes support; otherwise, opponents will simply switch out of Swagger at no cost and leave Regirock with nothing to Psych Up. With Spikes on the field, opponents will think twice about switching, especially as Flying-types such as Gyarados, who are immune to Spikes, face the threat of a super effective STAB Rock Slide.
