Moves Thanks to Toxic Orb, Facade is boosted to a fearsome 140 Base Power, making it Teddiursa's strongest attack that allows it to OHKO or 2HKO a majority of the LC metagame. Crunch provides good coverage, hitting the Ghost-types that are immune to Facade, such as Gastly and Pumpkaboo-XL. Close Combat is another great coverage move that allows Teddiursa to hit the Steel- and Rock-types that resist Facade, such as Ferroseed and Pawniard. Protect stalls a turn, allowing Toxic Orb to activate and trigger Quick Feet, and allows for scouting the foe's move and playing Sucker Punch mind games with Pawniard. Swords Dance boosts Teddiursa's already high Attack stat to extreme heights, securing it more OHKOs, including on Mudbray and Foongus. However, Teddiursa will not be able to get a free turn to activate Toxic Orb without Protect, and its frailty provides it with limited opportunities to set up. Set Details The 196 Attack EVs are crucial, enabling Teddiursa to guarantee a 2HKO on bulky Pokemon such as Mudbray and Foongus with Toxic-boosted Facade. With a Jolly nature and 196 EVs put into Speed, Teddiursa hits 14 Speed, which is boosted to 21 after Quick Feet is activated, allowing it to outspeed the entire unboosted metagame. The remaining EVs are put into HP, Defense, and Special Defense to give Teddiursa as much bulk as possible. Toxic Orb is used to activate Quick Feet, which gives it a huge Speed boost. Usage Tips Teddiursa has poor bulk, so try to bring it in as safely as possible. Good ways to do this are through a free switch and with a slow pivot. A slow pivot is great because it also activates Toxic Orb at the end of the turn without Teddiursa first having to stall or risk being outsped for a turn. Teddiursa's poor bulk together with the Toxic damage means that it can hardly take any hits, so priority users such as Timburr, Pawniard, and Carvanha must be taken out before Teddiursa can clean an opponent's team. Bulky Pokemon that can't be OHKOed such as Spritzee must also be weakened beforehand. Teddiursa works best as a late-game cleaner that sweeps the enemy team once these and other threats such as Croagunk and Onix have been taken out and the enemy's team weakened. Team Options Teddiursa appreciates entry hazard support from Pokemon such as Onix, Dwebble, and Omanyte, as it can wear down the enemy team and break Sturdy, making it easier for Teddiursa to sweep. Teddiursa does not want to take damage from entry hazards due to it already being whittled down by Toxic Orb, so a Defogger or spinner such as Vullaby or Staryu make for excellent teammates. Knock Off users such as Mienfoo, Timburr, Pawniard, and Ferroseed help Teddiursa by getting rid of items on foes such as Eviolite, allowing it to break through walls more easily. This is especially useful against very bulky Pokemon like Spritzee that still aren't OHKOed after a Swords Dance and Stealth Rock damage. Fighting-types threaten Teddiursa greatly, so checks for those are needed; Spritzee and Foongus are two good Fighting-type checks that pair well with Teddiursa. Slow pivots such as Mienfoo, Chinchou, and Magnemite can bring in Teddiursa safely to allow it to sweep, as well as activating its Toxic Orb for free at the end of the turn. Pursuit trappers such as Pawniard and Alolan Grimer are able to trap Focus Sash Abra, which can revenge kill Teddiursa if its Focus Sash is still intact. Strong wallbreakers can help Teddiursa by dealing a lot of damage to the opponent's walls, allowing Teddiursa to KO them more easily. Pokemon such as Snivy and Staryu can threaten the Rock-types that resist Facade and make for good teammates as well.
