With an incredible ability to resist any attack at full HP and the completely unresisted Tera Starstorm after Terastallization, Terapagos is one of the most terrifying bulky sweepers in the game! Rock Polish: Rock Polish ensures that Terapagos outspeeds most of the metagame, with only extremely fast Speed-boosted Pokemon such as Koraidon, Miraidon, Calyrex-S, and Flutter Mane outspeeding it. Protect: Protect pairs excellently with Leftovers and Toxic Spikes support to whittle down foes and give Terapagos an even longer lifespan. Earth Power versus Flamethrower: Using a coverage move over Protect doesn't make Terapagos as long-lasting, but it makes Terapagos less of a liability if a different Pokemon needs to Terastallize in a given match. Earth Power ruins Glimmora and does big damage to Miraidon and Zacian-C, while Flamethrower still hits Zacian-C and roasts the irritating Knock Off Scizor. Leftovers: Besides benefitting Terapagos's impressive bulk, getting any chance to gain Tera Shell's effect back is devastating enough to seriously consider Leftovers. Other Options Rest and Chesto Berry: When Rest and Chesto Berry are combined, Terapagos has an easy way to gain Tera Shell's protection back! However, this combination won't work nearly as well with Toxic Spikes as Protect does and is very vulnerable to Knock Off. Dark Pulse: Dark Pulse nails Calyrex-S regardless of whether or not Terapagos is Terastallized, though the great coverage isn't all that useful after Terastallization. Rapid Spin and an Attack IV of 31: Terapagos is great at removing entry hazards with Rapid Spin, especially since most foes won't expect it, plus Terapagos can still boost its Speed even if it's Taunted. As a bonus, Rapid Spin breaks Focus Sash on powerful users like Sneasler. However, Terapagos will now need 244 Speed EVs and a Timid nature to outspeed Calyrex-S after a Speed boost. Tera Types Tera Dependency - Almost Required: Terapagos is heavily dependent on Terastallization to transform into the incredibly bulky Terapagos-S. This is especially the case if Tera Starstorm is its only attack, meaning Terastallization is necessary to hit Ghost-types. Terapagos-S: Tera Stellar is the only possible option for Terapagos, but thankfully Terapagos-S's incredible bulk and perfect coverage make Terastallizing worth it. However, Tera Shell is a fantastic ability for enabling setup, and Tera Starstorm actually does more damage to neutral targets when Terapagos is not Terastallized, so it shouldn't be in a rush to Terastallize either. Also, take special note of Teraform Zero; while its not the main selling point of Terapagos-S, clearing Koraidon's sun or Miraidon's Electric Terrain at the correct times can have a huge impact on the match! EV Spreads 172 HP EVs: This HP investment gives Terapagos maximum Leftovers recovery before Terastallizing and minimizes Terapagos-S's damage from entry hazards. It also ensures that +1 Psyshock from Calyrex-S will not 2HKO Terapagos-S after Leftovers recovery. 100 Speed EVs versus 140 Speed EVs: 100 Speed EVs let Terapagos outspeed Jolly Choice Scarf Landorus-T, a common revenge killer. 140 Speed EVs will require losing some power, but they do enable Terapagos to outspeed Jolly Choice Scarf Urshifu formes, which can potentially revenge kill Terapagos-S with Close Combat.
