Earthquake lets Trevenant OHKO Aggron and 2HKO itemless Neutralizing Gas Weezing. Trick can be used to annoy defensive Pokemon like Tangela and virtually guarantee that a foe can be hit by Poltergeist, although Trevenant becomes noticeably weaker without Choice Band. Sucker Punch is another option that allows Trevenant to make up for its lackluster Speed, but it's prediction-reliant and not a good move to be locked into. While Frisk lets Trevenant scout for items and whether foes can be hit by Poltergeist, not being rendered useless by status thanks to Natural Cure is usually more useful. Using an Adamant nature maximizes Trevenant's damage output, but opting for a Jolly nature allows it to outspeed Pokemon like Jolly Aggron and Perrserker. Despite being incredibly strong, Trevenant can still struggle to take care of some physical walls like Tangela. Therefore, powerful special attackers such as Galarian Articuno and Charizard are good teammates. The former can also use U-turn to get Trevenant in safely and put immense pressure on Trevenant's answers with Future Sight, while the latter can remove entry hazards with Defog. Entry hazard support helps to wear down annoying physical walls too. In particular, Spikes setters like Qwilfish can be incredibly useful, helping Trevenant guarantee 2HKOs against Pokemon like Ferroseed with Poltergeist. Avoid pairing Trevenant with Knock Off users, since they'll prevent it from as freely using Poltergeist.

战术分析
Trevenant is a powerful wallbreaker that threatens teams without sturdy Ghost and Grass answers or sufficient offensive pressure. Thanks to Natural Cure, it can pivot into status better compared to other attackers and eases the need for a cleric. However, it faces competition from Gourgeist-S, which has significantly higher Speed. Trevenant compensates by hitting much harder, 2HKOing switch-ins like Altaria and Qwilfish, the latter after Stealth Rock damage. Sucker Punch nails faster foes like Rotom, Jynx, and Froslass. If Trevenant is paired with Thwackey, Grassy Glide can provide Trevenant with a safer priority move. Trick cripples lured walls like Tangela and Sap Sipper Miltank, which otherwise switch in safely. Natural Cure allows Trevenant to pivot into Pokemon reliant on status such as Stunfisk and defensive Poliwrath. Despite Trevenant’s strength, it struggles to break through physical walls, especially ones that invalidate its STAB moves like Tangela, Sap Sipper Miltank, and itemless Gourgeist-XL. Special wallbreakers like Jynx, Skuntank, and Thievul overwhelm them with super effective coverage or setup. Pivots such as Uxie and Alolan Persian can help Trevenant get onto the field against faster builds. Coalossal can cover its Fire-, Ice-, and Flying-type weaknesses and provide Rapid Spin, while Dark-types like Skuntank can cover its Dark- and Ghost-type weaknesses. In return, Trevenant can offensively deal with many Water- and Ground-types, including Poliwrath, Rhydon, and Stunfisk. Thwackey not only gives Trevenant Grassy Glide, a more reliable priority move, but also an offensive partner that works together to overwhelm bulky Grass-types.

Choice Band Trevenant can function as a breaker with passable coverage that can also spinblock. Natural Cure and Trick are still some features it has over its competition with status absorption and the ability to cripple a wall. However, Trevenant remains notably outdone by Victreebel and Torterra as Grass-type wallbreakers due to Trevenant's inferior typing and power, and also Golurk, which offers better utility in Stealth Rock and better coverage in Stone Edge and Ice Punch.

战术分析
Moves Wood Hammer is Trevenant's strongest STAB move, 2HKOing a majority of Pokemon that don't resist it and even some of the frailer ones that do, such as Magmortar, Swellow, and Pyroar, although it comes with hefty recoil damage. Shadow Claw is Trevenant's next best STAB option, with its better neutral coverage making it a decent move to throw out. It is also Trevenant's strongest attack against Psychic-types, particularly Xatu. Earthquake OHKOes Skuntank and Pyroar switch-ins, takes out Garbodor without making contact, and can hurt Steel-types such as Steelix and Aggron more efficiently. Rock Slide targets bulky Flying-types, such as Eviolite Scyther and Swords Dance Charizard, which can otherwise prove bothersome checks. Horn Leech is an alternative Grass-type STAB move for Trevenant to use that restores health instead of depleting it like Wood Hammer, making it decent for extending Trevenant's longevity. Trick can be used to cripple the likes of Weezing, Vileplume, and Ferroseed while allowing Trevenant to switch up moves, although its attacks do lose substantial power upon doing so and Tricking Choice Band doesn't cripple many of Trevenant's checks. The aforementioned Poison-types might be holding Black Sludge as well, which puts pressure on Trevenant to Trick it away immediately, as it has horrible synergy with Wood Hammer. X-Scissor has mild use in skewering Malamar as well as OHKOing Shiftry switch-ins, though it doesn't hit much outside of that. Set Details Maximum Attack and Speed investment allows Trevenant to outspeed and threaten as much as possible, most notably Jolly Rhydon, Malamar, Adamant Golurk, and Adamant Aggron. An Adamant nature further increases Trevenant's damage output, while a Jolly nature allows Trevenant to outspeed Pokemon such as Modest Aurorus, Timid Omastar, Jolly Aggron, and opposing Adamant Trevenant if any of these are of concern. Choice Band bolsters Trevenant's power to the point where even resisted Wood Hammer does substantial damage to frailer Pokemon that resist Grass while suiting its hit-and-run attacking style. Natural Cure allows Trevenant to take on status users without fear, particularly letting it not being permanently crippled by Scald burns. Usage Tips Trevenant would preferably switch in on an attack it either resists or is immune to, such as Rhydon's Earthquake, Samurott's Waterfall or Aqua Jet, or Tauros's Rock Climb, or a status move from Pokemon that don't immediately threaten it, such as Toxic from Gastrodon or Thunder Wave from Musharna and non-Heat Wave Xatu. Alternatively, VoltTurn support from the likes of Swellow, Archeops, and Manectric can allow Trevenant to enter battle safely. Be wary of switching into Scald; even with Natural Cure ensuring Trevenant won't stay crippled, being burned on the switch means Trevenant would struggle to threaten the opponent's switch-ins. Once it enters battle, Trevenant should choose the move most capable of punching a hole through the opponent's team. Usually this move is Wood Hammer, as it has enough power to 2HKO, if not OHKO after Stealth Rock damage, the likes of Skuntank, Pyroar, Swellow, and Shiftry, which would be the opponent's most likely switch-ins given their resistance to both of Trevenant's STAB moves. However, Trevenant's low Speed and bad weaknesses mean it gets forced out really easily after using an attack or getting a KO, so it might be wise to go for the move with the most immediate results, which is when the other attacks and prediction come into play. Team Options VoltTurn teams allow Trevenant to enter battle without having to risk taking a direct hit and often absorb status moves or resisted attacks aimed at the VoltTurn users. VoltTurn Pokemon are also speedy, which helps cover for Trevenant's awful matchup against offensive teams. Flying-types such as Swellow, Archeops, and Scyther can use U-turn to pivot into Trevenant on various status moves and appreciate Trevenant threatening Ground- and Rock-types as well as softening up Steel-types for them. Primeape can U-turn away from Psychic-type switch-ins, such as Musharna and Xatu, for Trevenant to prey on, while Trevenant can cripple Poison-types with Earthquake or Trick. Lanturn and Manectric make for appealing Volt Switch teammates for Trevenant, as they can handle most Flying-type Pokemon, as well as Fire-type Pokemon in Lanturn's case, while Trevenant easily takes advantage of opposing Lanturn, Gastrodon, and Rhydon while also luring in and denting bulky Grass-types. Fire-types also can synergize well with Trevenant, as they offer speed, great offensive presence, and the ability to threaten most Pokemon that resist Grass, such as Vileplume, Weezing, and Scyther, which deter Trevenant from throwing out Wood Hammers. Trevenant meanwhile absorbs status for them and resists or otherwise covers for most of their weaknesses, including Pyroar's Fighting weakness and Combusken's Psychic weakness. Floatzel can be a good teammate for Trevenant, as it can revenge kill many of the Pokemon that would threaten Trevenant, while Trevenant can switch into Lanturn and Gastrodon and threaten them with powerful attacks, although switching into the former can be risky if they can Volt Switch into a Pursuit trapper.

战术分析
Moves Trevenant's Wood Hammer is chosen as the primary STAB option, as it is the most powerful Grass-type attack in the tier. Shadow Claw provides a secondary attack that hits walls such as Gourgeist-XL; however, it should be noted that locking into a Ghost move in PU can be detrimental, as PU has a large number of strong Normal-types that would take advantage of this. Rock Slide hits Flying-type Pokemon such as Vullaby and Fire-type Pokemon such as Rapidash, 2HKOing all of them. The last slot is quite customizable, but the recommended move is Earthquake for 2HKOing defensive Mawile even after an Intimidate. Other options include Trick to cripple any walls that may switch in; however, by giving the Choice Band away, Trevenant forfeits its ability to 2HKO many common Grass switch-ins such as Vullaby. Horn Leech is also an option for healing, since Trevenant can get worn down quickly through switching in and Wood Hammer recoil. Due to the lack in power, however, it is not recommended that Horn Leech replaces Wood Hammer; instead, it should work as a secondary and weaker Grass option if used at all. Set Details The Speed EVs are set to always outspeed Adamant maximum Speed Mawile, which can force Trevenant out otherwise with a strong Knock Off. Trevenant can run 252 Speed to outspeed neutral-natured Cacturne; however, this is not recommended due to Cacturne's ability to OHKO it with Sucker Punch, which nullifies any Speed that Trevenant has. The leftover EVs are put into HP for some additional bulk, as Trevenant's natural bulk is fairly respectable. Choice Band is the item of choice to make Trevenant as strong as possible in conjunction with the Attack EVs and Adamant nature, which guarantees the 2HKO on many threats and switch-ins such as Vullaby and defensive Mawile. Natural Cure is used to heal off any burns so Trevenant is not crippled by them while also letting it act as a general status absorber for the rest of the team. Usage Tips Trevenant is heavily reliant on the player's ability to properly predict their opponent. If predicted correctly, Trevenant has the ability to 2HKO most of the common Grass switch-ins PU has to offer. If the player predicts incorrectly, then whatever move Trevenant locks itself into is usually an easy switch-in for a Pokemon that either resists or is immune to the move. For example, locking into Shadow Claw gives a free switch for Stoutland, and locking into Wood Hammer gives a free switch for Vullaby. It is exceedingly important to predict often and predict well in order for Trevenant to succeed. Bring Trevenant in in the earlier parts of the game to soften the opposing team with its wallbreaking ability, but always be prepared to switch it back out. Additionally, thanks to Trevenant's decent natural bulk, coming in on resisted moves like an Earth Power from Stunfisk is also acceptable. Trevenant can also switch in on a Scald if necessary, as Natural Cure will get rid of the possible burn. Using Trevenant as a status absorber is a decent option for taking a Toxic or Thunder Wave for a partner while also affording a relatively free switch for Trevenant by simply healing the affliction on the switch. Team Options Trevenant's primary niche is its ability to weaken common Grass switch-ins, so a great partner for Trevenant is another Grass sweeper such as Leafeon or Jumpluff that appreciates this. Monferno and Pawniard are also notable options if you do not want to stack Grass-types, as they also appreciate targets such as Vullaby out of the way to ease their own sweep. Partners that can give Trevenant a free switch through U-turn or Volt Switch also work well, and choices such as Rotom-F and Monferno can succeed in this role. Additionally, while Trevenant is strong on its own, it still requires Stealth Rock on the field to solidify the 2HKO on some notable threats such as Vullaby. Thus, choices such as Metang and Mawile are good partners for both providing Stealth Rock and patching up some type weaknesses Trevenant has. Defensive partners can consist of choices such as Mawile, which can switch in on Flying and Dark attacks, and Altaria, which can switch in on Fire attacks. Having defensive partners for Trevenant is advised because Trevenant has to switch in and out on a regular basis, making reliable teammates to absorb the attack meant for Trevenant a strong asset to the team.
