Sludge Bomb's poison chance makes it the preferred attack of choice, threatening otherwise safe switches like Mesprit and Cryogonal with uncomfortable chip damage. Will-O-Wisp cripples physical attackers and spreads chip damage on common switch-ins like Muk and Mesprit. Pain Split gives Weezing some staying power and helps it stick around in longer games. Haze denies setup sweepers like Swords Dance Virizion. Taunt messes with defensive foes, denying attempts at setting entry hazards, spreading status, and recovery. Toxic Spikes messes with grounded Pokemon like Regirock and is great into bulkier teams. Rocky Helmet chips away at physical attackers using contact moves. Levitate lets Weezing hover over Spikes as well as Ground-type moves, letting it ignore Earthquake from Primeape and Sandaconda. Tera Steel makes Weezing resist Psychic-type attacks from Mespirit and Farigiraf, as well as a ton of other types like Flying, Normal, and Ice, making it a better check to many physical attackers like Dodrio and Beartic. However, Tera Steel makes Weezing weak to Fighting-type attacks, reducing its effectiveness as a check to Fighting-types like Hitmontop and Primeape. Balance teams can tend to struggle against the many strong Fighting-types like Primeape, so Weezing is a great fit on these teams to take this pressure off its teammates. Because of this, Fighting-weak partners like Sneasel appreciate Weezing's presence. Beartic is another wallbreaker that balance teams struggle with, and Weezing can help its team dance around it. As Weezing can't take special hits very well, special walls like Cryogonal and Orthworm are helpful for sponging the special attacks aimed at Weezing. Orthworm coincidentally form a powerful defensive core with Weezing, with Weezing covering Fighting-types for Orthworm. Offensive threats like Beartic and Sneasel appreciate having Weezing to fall back on against would-be revenge killers like Primeape.

Set Details Will-O-Wisp cripples physical attackers such as Golurk, Drapion, and Copperajah. Pain Split gives Weezing recovery and helps wear down opposing Pokemon like Guzzlord. Taunt restricts defensive Pokemon, prevents slow entry hazard setters such as Copperajah and Mudsdale from setting their hazard, and shuts down bulky setup sweepers such as Curse Snorlax and Bulk Up Scrafty. Toxic Spikes can be used instead to punish grounded Pokemon and weaken them, which is especially helpful for bulky Pokemon such as Vaporeon, Diancie, and Sylveon. Levitate is the preferred ability to better check Ground-types and physical attackers such as Golurk, Drapion, and Mudsdale. However, Rocky Helmet punishes physical attackers such as Passimian and Ninjask. Black Sludge is also an option for some passive recovery. 44 Speed EVs allow Weezing to outspeed Vaporeon and prevent it from passing Wish with Taunt. Weezing works best on balance and more defensive teams that need a reliable check for physical threats such a Tauros, Toxicroak, and Golurk as well as a Ground immunity. Bulky Dark-types such as Guzzlord and Scrafty pair well with Weezing, as they check Psychic-types such as Xatu and Starmie and can remove Heavy-Duty Boots with their Knock Off if Weezing carries Toxic Spikes. Bulky Steel-types such as Copperajah and Escavalier also check Psychic-types and various other special attackers such as Exploud, Vanilluxe, and Heliolisk that threaten Weezing. In return, Weezing checks Fighting- and Ground-types. Vaporeon and Sylveon are good teammates, since they keep Weezing healthy with their Wish support. Checks to Salazzle such as Rhydon, Vaporeon, and Mantine are also helpful, as it easily sets up in front of Weezing. Finally, setup sweepers such as Glastrier, Ninjask, and Braviary appreciate Weezing's Toxic Spikes support, as it weakens many of their checks such as Vaporeon, Diancie, and Sylveon, and they can stall for poison damage turns with Substitute or Protect.

Weezing can function as both a wall and a supporter. Will-O-Wisp cripples against Pokemon immune to poison such as Aggron and Ferroseed. Taunt can be used to shut down opposing defensive Pokemon such as Gigalith and Regirock. Flamethrower allows Weezing to threaten Steel-types and Froslass beyond a burn. Neutralizing Gas sacrifices a Ground immunity to let Weezing take advantage of Pokemon that rely heavily on their abilities, such as Audino and Gigalith, and also lets it absorb Toxic Spikes. The given EV spread allows Weezing to outspeed Pokemon like defensive Alcremie. Weezing pairs best with specially defensive Pokemon that can absorb special hits for it; these include blanket checks to special attackers, such as Gigalith and Lanturn, which enjoy Weezing soaking up Fighting- and Grass-type moves for them. Steel-types like Ferroseed and Aggron can handle special attackers like Mesprit, Ribombee, and Galarian Articuno that can overwhelm Weezing. In return, Weezing can absorb Fighting- and, if running Levitate, Ground-type moves for them.

战术分析
Moves Sludge Bomb is Weezing's STAB attack of choice, letting it deal damage to Pokemon immune to Will-O-Wisp such as Incineroar while also possessing a 30% chance to poison foes. Will-O-Wisp lets Weezing burn physical attackers such as Klinklang and Dhelmise. Pain Split provides Weezing with a source of recovery outside of Black Sludge, should Weezing opt for it, while also chipping away at Pokemon with more health than Weezing when Pain Split is used. Toxic Spikes lets Weezing cripple defensive Pokemon like Slowking and Vaporeon. Alternatively, Taunt prevents entry hazard setters like Steelix and Rhydon from doing their job. Set Details The defensive investment lets Weezing avoid the OHKO from Incineroar's +2 Flare Blitz and the 2HKO from Choice Band Sneasel's Icicle Crash, both after Stealth Rock. The Special Defense investment prevents Weezing from being KOed by Life Orb Sceptile's +0 Leaf Storm into -2 Leaf Storm. If running Taunt, 44 EVs should be taken out of Defense and placed into Speed so that Weezing can outspeed and Taunt Vaporeon, preventing it from using utility moves like Wish. A more specially defensive spread of 252 HP / 16 Def / 196 SpD / 44 Spe with a Bold nature lets Weezing better check specially offensive Grass-types like Sceptile while still retaining the necessary physical bulk to check Pokemon like Passimian and Dhelmise. Rocky Helmet lets Weezing punish Pokemon such as Passimian and Whimsicott when they use U-turn and chips away at other physical attackers such as Steelix and Decidueye whenever they use a contact move. Alternatively, Black Sludge provides Weezing with a source of recovery if not using Pain Split. Levitate is Weezing's only ability and allows it to switch into Ground-type moves from Pokemon such as Steelix and Torterra. Usage Tips Because of Weezing's high Defense and Poison typing, it can be switched directly into Fighting-type Pokemon such as Passimian and Scrafty to check them. Look to use Will-O-Wisp to burn threatening physical attackers such as Decidueye and Sneasel and to cripple defensive Pokemon such as Steelix and Rhydon. Be wary of letting Weezing take too much damage from special attackers such as Whimsicott and Sceptile, as Weezing's low Special Defense does not allow it to check them easily, even with investment. Additionally, Sceptile and Whimsicott can carry coverage moves such as Psychic and Hidden Power Psychic to hit Weezing for super effective damage. Weezing should use Pain Split when low on health and when it can force the opposing Pokemon out, such as when against Passimian, Steelix, and Piloswine, as this maximizes the healing Pain Split will provide. Weezing should aim to set Toxic Spikes as early as possible if the opponent has no grounded Poison-types to absorb them. Taunt should be used both to prevent setup sweepers like Decidueye from setting up and to prevent utility-based Pokemon like Mega Audino and Vaporeon from using moves like Wish and Heal Bell. Team Options Weezing fits best on defensively oriented teams as an additional check to physical attackers. Pokemon such as Incineroar, Sneasel, and Steelix appreciate Weezing's ability to pivot into Fighting- and Ground-type Pokemon such as Passimian and Piloswine. Additionally, Incineroar and Sneasel check Ghost-types such as Rotom and Mismagius, which threaten Weezing out. Because of Weezing's lack of recovery outside of Pain Split or Black Sludge, Wish users like Mega Audino and Vaporeon make excellent partners that can also provide cleric support with Heal Bell. Additionally, Weezing possesses good defensive synergy with Mega Audino and Vaporeon, handling the Poison-types that threaten Mega Audino and checking the Grass-type Pokemon that threaten Vaporeon. Even with Special Defense investment, Weezing's low special bulk leaves it vulnerable to strong special attackers such as Heliolisk and Houndoom. Therefore, Pokemon such as Slowking, Cryogonal, and Torterra provide switch-ins to strong special attacks, and Cryogonal also appreciates Weezing's ability to pivot into Fighting-type moves. Psychic-resistant Pokemon such as Slowking, Xatu, and Silvally-Steel cover Weezing's weakness to Psychic-type attacks; Xatu and Silvally-Steel also provide entry hazard control in the form of Magic Bounce and Defog, preventing Weezing from getting weakened by Stealth Rock. Additionally, Pursuit users such as Sneasel and Houndoom can trap Psychic-type Pokemon like Slowking and Sigilyph. If using Toxic Spikes, Pokemon that appreciate Toxic Spikes support such as Passimian and Medicham make great partners for Weezing.

战术分析
Moves Will-O-Wisp is one of Weezing's main attributes as a physical wall, allowing it to completely cripple physically offensive Pokemon such as Steelix and Scyther, wearing them down while also making them setup fodder for teammates such as Swords Dance Samurott. Sludge Bomb is a strong STAB Poison-type attack that has a good chance to inflict poison on troublesome Pokemon that may attempt to switch into Will-O-Wisp and other moves, such as Magmortar, Pyroar, and Xatu. Taunt prevents Weezing from being setup fodder for entry hazard setters such as Garbodor and Steelix and sweepers such as Malamar, Mega Audino, and Gurdurr. It also prevents slower defensive Pokemon from healing themselves, such as Vileplume, Quagsire, and Gourgeist-XL. Toxic Spikes allows Weezing to wear down the opponent's team throughout the match if they lack a grounded Poison-type Pokemon, but it will often only be able to set one layer at a time due to how easy it is to force out. Pain Split provides Weezing with semi-reliable recovery and lets it wear down Pokemon such as Lanturn and Hariyama when at low health, being an especially good option if your team lacks Wish support. Clear Smog and Haze can remove boosts from setup sweepers, with the former inflicting damage and bypassing Taunt, while the latter bypasses Substitute and can be used on Steel-type Pokemon. Flamethrower lets Weezing attack Steel-types such as Steelix and Mawile directly, in addition to Substitute Klinklang, but Will-O-Wisp is usually sufficient for dealing with them. Set Details Levitate allows Weezing to bypass Ground-type attacks and both Spikes and Toxic Spikes. However, it also prevents Weezing from absorbing Toxic Spikes for its team, so it may need to be paired with a grounded Poison-type or entry hazard controller if desired. Black Sludge provides passive recovery for Weezing while also deterring Trick users such as Choice Scarf Jynx and Rotom from taking advantage of it. 108 Speed EVs allow Weezing to outspeed uninvested Malamar and use Taunt to prevent it from using Rest to heal or remove status, as well as outspeeding Pelipper and Mantine and preventing them from using Defog. The nature and remaining EVs are used to maximize Weezing's HP and Defense so that it can take physical hits throughout the match. If Malamar is not a big threat to the rest of your team, the Speed EVs can be dropped and put in Defense for even more bulk. If Weezing has reliable Wish support, Rocky Helmet can be a good item choice for punishing contact attackers such as Hariyama more effectively, breaking Sturdy, and stacking residual damage. Usage Tips Weezing should be used as a pivot to switch into physical attackers throughout the match, either spreading status on the opponent's team with Will-O-Wisp or setting up Toxic Spikes if it gets a chance. Toxic Spikes should not be used until the opponent's grounded Poison-types have been removed. Weezing can switch into bulky setup sweepers such as Malamar, Mega Audino, and Gurdurr and stop them with Taunt, but it usually shouldn't do so against faster Pokemon, as it will likely be hit by a boosted attack before it can do anything. Sludge Bomb can be used to punish usual switch-ins such as Psychic- and Fire-types with a 30% chance to poison, but only if there is little risk in switching to a teammate afterwards. It should also be used with caution when there are specific threats that you don't want to inflict normal poison on, such as Rhydon and Scyther, which Weezing can usually only beat by burning them. Team Options Wish support is fantastic to keep Weezing at good health throughout a match, and Mega Audino is good at providing this due to its great bulk and ability to deal with special attackers with either Calm Mind or raw bulk. Specially defensive Pokemon can be used to compensate for Weezing's lack of Special Defense on balanced and defensive teams. Lanturn can deal with Fire-types fairly well and appreciates Weezing's immunity to Ground-type attacks while also providing Heal Bell support for defensive teams. Altaria can similarly remove status and deter setup sweepers with Haze, and it appreciates Weezing dealing with Fairy-types like Mega Audino. Skuntank can trap problematic Psychic-types such as Xatu for Weezing with Pursuit, as well as absorbing Toxic Spikes for defensive teams and appreciating Weezing's Levitate. Dark-type Pokemon in general, such as Malamar and Shiftry, are also good responses to Psychic-types. Stealth Rock users such as Steelix and Rhydon can punish Fire-type Pokemon for switching into Weezing and help it stack residual damage on the opponent's team. Cacturne is a good Spikes user for balanced teams that also threatens Psychic-types. Weezing synergizes particularly well with these candidates due to Levitate and its Fighting-type resistance. Finally, if Weezing runs Toxic Spikes, Ghost-type Pokemon such as Rotom and Mismagius can capitalize on them, as they can use Hex against targets immediately instead of having to spend a turn burning them, and they can also prevent foes from using Rapid Spin to remove these entry hazards.

Moves Will-O-Wisp is one of Weezing's greatest selling points and is used to cripple physical attackers and deal passive damage to switch-ins. Sludge Bomb is Weezing's best STAB option, as it not only hits Grass- and Fairy-type Pokemon super effectively but also threatens Fire-type Pokemon like Emboar, Houndoom, and Delphox with a neutral hit. Sludge Bomb also has a nice chance to poison, further pressuring the Pokemon that attempt to switch in. Pain Split gives Weezing a semi-reliable form of recovery that has the added bonus of wearing down other Pokemon. Toxic Spikes provides great utility in wearing down Pokemon and crippling opposing walls. Taunt prevents Pokemon from using Weezing as setup fodder, particularly targeting slower entry hazard setters like Diancie, Registeel, Steelix, and Rhyperior along with slower boosting Pokemon like Gurdurr. Flamethrower is also an option to let Weezing hit Steel-type Pokemon like Steelix and Escavalier, though these Pokemon are already neutered by Will-O-Wisp and Taunt. Set Details Black Sludge provides passive recovery for Weezing. The mixed EV spread lets Weezing check both Grass- and Fighting-type Pokemon; specifically, 28 Defense EVs with a Bold nature let Weezing always avoid the 2HKO from Adamant Life Orb Hitmonlee's High Jump Kick and +2 Virizion's Stone Edge after Stealth Rock. The rest of the EVs are dumped into Special Defense to better deal with specially offensive Grass-type Pokemon like Venusaur. Weezing's EV spread can be changed depending on the team's needs; for example, alternate EV spreads with more investment in Defense or Special Defense let Weezing better deal with Fighting-types and Grass-types, respectively. Using 44 Speed EVs is also an option, as they let Weezing outspeed Alomomola so that it can Taunt it before it uses Wish. Usage Tips Use Weezing as a pivot by switching into Grass-, Fighting-, and Fairy-type Pokemon like Venusaur, Virizion, and Diancie and spreading burns with Will-O-Wisp or setting up Toxic Spikes. Take caution before using Will-O-Wisp, however, as Fire-type Pokemon like Houndoom, Emboar, and Mega Camerupt and status absorbers like Sigilyph can switch in and force Weezing out with their strong STAB moves. When you see these Pokemon or others that do not fear Will-O-Wisp, use Sludge Bomb liberally, as it is backed by STAB and has a chance to poison. Weezing performs particularly well against slower, defensive teams because its access to Taunt and Will-O-Wisp coupled with its immunity to Toxic makes it a formidable stallbreaker. Team Options Dark-type Pokemon like Sneasel, Drapion, and Houndoom pair fantastically with Weezing, as they threaten the Psychic-type Pokemon that beat Weezing and they appreciate Weezing's ability to deal with Fighting-type Pokemon. Pokemon that can switch into Fire-type Pokemon are also good partners; Alomomola in particular loves Weezing's ability to deal with Grass-types, and it vastly improves Weezing's longevity with Wish support in addition to checking Fire-type Pokemon and many special attackers in general. Jellicent also does the latter with its great special bulk while also blocking Rapid Spin and taking advantage of the Toxic Spikes support that Weezing provides with Hex. Diancie also has tremendous special bulk, letting it take on most special attackers like Exploud while also giving cleric support to heal burns and having access to Stealth Rock.

Moves Toxic Spikes poisons foes as they switch in, making them easier to wear down. Sludge Bomb prevents Weezing from becoming setup bait and allows it to inflict poison on foes without using Toxic Spikes. Alternatively, Flamethrower can be used to directly punish Steel-types, such as Mega Aggron, Forretress, and Cobalion. It is especially useful to prevent Substitute + Swords Dance Cobalion from setting up on Weezing. Will-O-Wisp cripples physical attackers that attempt to use Weezing as setup bait. Pain Split is Weezing's best option for recovery, while Haze makes foes unable to try to set up against Weezing. Alternatively, Taunt is an option to stallbreak against opposing walls, though Weezing is too slow to use the move reliably. Set Details Maximum HP and Defense investment with a Bold nature allows Weezing to take on several physical attackers in the UU tier. If running Taunt, 44 EVs in Speed can be used to hit uninvested Chesnaught and Umbreon with Taunt, preventing them from stalling out Weezing. Black Sludge gives Weezing passive recovery, allowing it to remain on the battlefield for a bit longer. Alternatively, Rocky Helmet can punish physical attackers and Knock Off users, but Weezing needs its reliable recovery and becomes overly reliant on Pain Split. Levitate removes Weezing's Ground weakness and allows it to switch in on Ground-type attacks and Spikes without worry. Usage Tips Weezing works best as an early- and mid-game wall. To get it in safely and successfully, pivot Weezing into powerful physical attacks to absorb the hit and stifle opposing momentum. Be sure to use it to deal with many threatening physical sweepers, including boosting ones such as Feraligatr and Lucario. In most cases, set up Toxic Spikes on the predicted switch. However, if you suspect that the opponent will bring in a wall, cripple it with Will-O-Wisp. If you predict the opponent will switch in a Steel-type, nail it with Flamethrower. Team Options Specially defensive clerics such as Umbreon, Blissey, Vaporeon, and Florges make for perfect teammates. They give Weezing a more reliable method of recovery than Pain Split and can take the special attacks that it has trouble surviving. Dark-, Ghost-, and Bug-types, such as Mega Absol, Doublade, and Mega Beedrill, respectively, can nail the Psychic-types that give Weezing trouble, such as Espeon and Reuniclus. Dark-types also appreciate Weezing's ability to counter Fighting- and Fairy-types. Pursuit trappers such as Escavalier and Krookodile can nail Psychic-types that attempt to switch out, giving Weezing an easier time walling the opposing team. Ground-types such as Donphan and Mamoswine can take out the grounded Poison-types that try to remove Weezing's Toxic Spikes. In return, Weezing can switch into the Grass-type attacks aimed at its Ground-type teammates. Setup sweepers such as Haxorus and Mega Sharpedo appreciate Weezing crippling their offensive checks with Will-O-Wisp, giving them an easier time setting up. A spinblocker such as Doublade can prevent opposing spinners from removing the Toxic Spikes that Weezing sets up. All-out attackers such as Kyurem, Pangoro, and Hydreigon enjoy having their defensive checks worn down by Toxic Spikes as well.

This is Weezing's trademark set; it prevents physical attackers such as Golurk and Sawk from steamrolling through your team easily. Will-O-Wisp is a necessity for Weezing to incapacitate physical attackers and prevent them from harming it and its fellow teammates. Sludge Bomb is a moderately strong STAB attack that hits many relevant Pokemon such as Swellow and Kangaskhan hard. Flamethrower roasts the Bug- and Steel-types that Weezing wouldn't normally be able to touch, hitting Pokemon like Metang for solid damage. Pain Split is also a possible choice for the third slot, increasing the survivability of Weezing as well as dwindling the opposing Pokemon's health if the circumstances are right. Haze sets the opponent's boosted stats back to 0, which is useful against Substitute + Bulk Up Braviary and Nasty Plot Misdreavus. Taunt can also prevent slower setup sweepers from setting up at all, but it is less reliable, as Weezing is outsped by numerous Pokemon; however, it can stop Pokemon such as Piloswine and Regirock from setting up Stealth Rock as well as prevent Wishes from Lickilicky and Audino, so it is still a solid option for the last slot. Black Sludge is used over Leftovers to punish Trick users and make them want to Trick their Black Sludge away, wasting valuable turns and giving Weezing time to either cripple or hurt them. Fire Blast can be used to secure a 3HKO on Metang, but those KOs don't matter too much since burning them is already crippling them enough. Toxic is usually not recommended, as Weezing's main job is burning opponents, and there are much better candidates to do that job. Clear Smog can also be used in the last slot, but it is generally inferior to Haze, which can pass through Substitute. For teammates, Lickilicky and Audino can sponge most special hits and can pass big Wishes to Weezing. Metang and Skuntank can come in on any Psychic-type Pokemon including Gardevoir (when something is already put to sleep) and Musharna, walling or Pursuit trapping them, respectively. Weezing can support Ludicolo and Tauros by beating Golurk for them. Musharna can handle Mold Breaker Sawk, making it a good partner on stall and balanced teams.

战术分析
Weezing makes an excellent switch-in to all of the Grass-, Bug-, Poison-, and especially Fighting-type Pokemon in the tier. Whether it is Hitmonlee, Hitmonchan, or Gurdurr, Weezing always comes out on top against these threats. Will-O-Wisp is one of Weezing's main selling points, allowing him to become nearly unbreakable if he can land a burn on a physical attacker. Weezing beats two of the most common hazard users one-on-one; Ferroseed and Qwilfish are felled by Fire Blast and Thunderbolt, respectively. These two moves are preferred as attacks over Sludge Bomb, as they provide superior coverage. Pain Split is Weezing's most dependable method of recovery, and it drains health away from the opponent. Sadly, it is not reliable against weakened opponents, so Weezing might struggle to survive later in the match. A now age-old argument is which hazing move is better: Haze or Clear Smog. While Clear Smog does damage, Haze bypasses Substitutes and Steel-types such as Klinklang. It is a matter of preference as to which hazing move to use, if any at all. Rest is an option over Pain Split if you want a method to remove status. If you use Rest, it is recommended that you use Sleep Talk over one of the attacking moves. Whichever recovery move you use, it is advisable to provide Weezing with Wish and cleric support. Clefable makes an excellent teammate, taking special attacks for Weezing and being able to heal him with a large Wish. In return, Weezing aids Clefable by taking the Fighting-type attacks that Clefable despises. Miltank also makes an excellent teammate for removing Weezing's sleep with Heal Bell if Weezing packs Rest over Pain Split.

Weezing, despite usually having pitiful special bulk, can actually tank a special hit or two when fully invested. This set makes him an excellent check to resisted special attackers such as Sceptile and Lilligant. Weezing can now switch in on resisted special attacks and start his walling game. Will-O-Wisp allows Weezing to spread burns to stop plotting physical attackers, while Rest + Sleep Talk allows Weezing to be an excellent sleep absorber that can reliably switch into Lilligant. Pain Split is still an option, however, as it heals him without putting him to sleep. Because Weezing may be running only one attack, Flamethrower is the best option for this set. If you are running two attacks, Fire Blast is viable for the added power. Haze and Clear Smog are always options over Thunderbolt to counter Lilligant. Stockpile can be used over Will-O-Wisp with Toxic Spikes support to stall out opponents easily. Once again, Weezing enjoys Wish support from a Pokemon such as Clefable, as well as cleric support from Pokemon such as Miltank. Sludge Bomb is an option if you are running a mono-attacker set, but it leaves you vulnerable to Steel-types. Weezing also pairs well with specially defensive Pokemon such as Slowking and Munchlax to take Psychic-type attacks and strong special attacks for him, while both also appreciate Weezing checking Tangrowth for them.

Weezing can take advantage of its high Defense, typing, access to coverage options such as Flamethrower and Thunderbolt, and usable base 85 Special Attack to serve as a utility counter to many physical attackers in UU. Flamethrower and Thunderbolt enable Weezing to effectively counter physical attackers such as Heracross and Swellow. However, either can be replaced by Haze, which allows Weezing to stop most set-up sweepers in their tracks, even those that pack Substitute. Pain Split turns Weezing's low base 65 HP into an asset, giving it a form of recovery, while Will-O-Wisp cripples physical attackers and also chips away at their HP. The EVs maximize Weezing's physical bulk; investing in its weaker Special Defense will be a futile endeavor, as Weezing dies to special attacks anyway. Fire Blast is a viable option to run over Flamethrower, as it allows Weezing to 2HKO offensive Torterra; however, Fire Blast is generally inferior due to its lower PP and lower accuracy. Hidden Power Grass hits Rhyperior and Water-types, but lacks coverage otherwise. Sludge Bomb can be used for a STAB move, but it has poor coverage and can end up poisoning a foe that Weezing would have rather burned with Will-O-Wisp. Weezing has issues with strong special attackers thanks to its low Special Defense. Psychic-types in particular can easily dispatch Weezing with their super effective STAB attacks. Thus, Weezing appreciates the support of specially defensive Pokemon that can take Psychic-type attacks, such as Empoleon. Will-O-Wisp must also not be thrown about recklessly, as Weezing could end up burning Guts abusers such as Heracross; however, Heracross is put in its place easily with Flamethrower.

战术分析
By focusing entirely on Weezing's lower Special Defense stat and trusting on his naturally high Defense to be sufficient without additional investment, Weezing becomes an effective check to a variety of attackers, both special and physical. In particular, this set is notoriously effective at checking the versatile Venusaur; from Swords Dance to specially-based variants. With the given EV spread, Weezing takes no more than 43.7% from Venusaur's Life Orb Leaf Storm, while Power Whip does even less and can be weakened further by burning Venusaur with Will-O-Wisp. With an immunity to Spikes and a neutrality to Stealth Rock, Weezing can switch in and out without taking any major residual damage, which really helps him in taking Venusaur's assaults. Weezing can also fend off other Grass-types, such as Sceptile, in the same manner. Even with the touched-up EV spread, Weezing is no slouch physically, having enough physical bulk to comfortably keep threats such as Torterra, Hitmonlee, Hitmontop, and Donphan at bay. Will-O-Wisp also somewhat balances this "loss" of physical bulk, allowing Weezing to burn overzealous physical attackers attempting to exploit this set's lack of investment in Defense. Sludge Bomb is Weezing's main attacking option, as it has STAB and hits many Pokemon for solid, neutral damage. It also has decent synergy with Will-O-Wisp; Steel-types, immune to Sludge Bomb, will find themselves fainting from Will-O-Wisp in a matter of turns if they lack a recovery move. Rest and Sleep Talk keep Weezing healthy while ensuring that he is not helpless while he is asleep, preventing him from being beaten by Sleep Powder Venusaur. Pain Split is Weezing's other option for recovering lost HP, but it is generally inferior to RestTalk on this set; since Weezing's defenses will most likely be called upon very often, the need for a more reliable means of recovery is much higher. A Fire move such as Fire Blast or Flamethrower alongside Thunderbolt or Sludge Bomb can grant good coverage, but Weezing isn't trying to be offensive here (note the lack of investment), and would generally prefer the more dependable fruits of Will-O-Wisp or RestTalk. Flash Fire users such as Arcanine, Houndoom, and Ninetales are the bane of this set, as they are more than able to comfortably switch into Will-O-Wisp and threaten Weezing with their deadly STAB moves. Milotic can patch up this issue, as its resistance to Fire, excellent defenses, and strong STAB Surf allow it to deal with the aforementioned threats. This two-man core is highly capable of dealing with many combinations of offensive threats, such as Venusaur (or Torterra) and Arcanine; however, Pokemon such as Mismagius and Alakazam can shred this tandem into pieces when played correctly. Using either Registeel or Spiritomb can resolve these issues nicely. While Registeel can add Stealth Rock to the mix, hampering Fire-types attempting to switch into Weezing, Spiritomb adds a valuable Psychic immunity, along with the ability to place Mismagius and Alakazam in a checkmate position with the threat of using either Pursuit or Shadow Sneak.

This Weezing is almost the definition of a full-stop to physical attackers in UU; with full investment in his Defense, even a Swords Danced Kabutops's Life Orb-boosted Stone Edge won't be able to bring him down, not even after Stealth Rock! Flamethrower and Thunderbolt form the core of Weezing's attacking moves here, granting super effective coverage on a great many physical attackers. Will-O-Wisp and Haze enhance Weezing's walling capabilities further by permanently crippling his opponents or clearing away any stat boosts they may have acquired, respectively. With only one moveslot left, Pain Split is used as a means of recovering off any damage sustained. Fire Blast over Flamethrower is the same power vs. reliability argument that has come and gone through the generations. Most notably, Fire Blast will allow Weezing to 2HKO offensive Torterra, though its imperfect accuracy and low PP make it a lesser option in general, especially considering that Weezing will rarely need the extra power. Hidden Power Grass is another worthy attacking option, particularly for its ability to hit Rhyperior hard, but its power and coverage are otherwise lacking. Finally, RestTalk over Pain Split and Thunderbolt, with Sludge Bomb over Flamethrower for STAB, will grant Weezing greater survivability, but also cause him to lose out on important coverage. With no investment to counteract Weezing's poor Special Defense this time around, special attackers will easily be making their mark on Weezing's hide. Therefore, a special wall such as Chansey or Registeel will be invaluable when using this Weezing. Most of these Pokemon also have a weakness to Fighting-type attacks, which Weezing can conveniently patch up. Chansey also has access to Wish, and can use it to make Weezing's endurance even more formidable. A Dark-type, such as Drapion and Skuntank, to deal with the Psychic-types that Weezing normally lures in is also useful. Finally, even when they're physical, Flash Fire users are the bane of Weezing's existence. Therefore, packing a Water-type, like Milotic, or a Flash Fire user of your own, like Houndoom, will help immensely.

战术分析
Weezing is the best Fighting-type counter and Haze user in the game. This is a simple set: burn physical threats with Will-O-Wisp, Haze if they set up, and wear them down with Sludge Bomb or Flamethrower. Steel- and Rock-types with Substitute might give Weezing problems here, but Flamethrower can deal with the former. The EV spread simply maximizes Weezing's HP and Defense to give it optimum physical bulk. Due to its low HP stat, Weezing gets more physical bulk by maximizing HP than by putting EVs into Defense. Thus, if you don't wish to maximize Defense, just use a lot of Defense EVs with a Defense-boosting nature, and put the rest in Attack or Special Attack.

A more offensive take on Weezing, this set is surprisingly effective and can put a dent in stall-based teams. The only things it needs to look out for are Dusclops and Gengar. The EV spread is somewhat complex; invest heavily in Attack, put 68 EVs in Special Attack to KO Skarmory and Heracross more easily, and dump the rest in HP so that Weezing can still take a few hits here and there.

战术分析
Weezing is among the tier's most viable tanks, as its naturally high bulk and access to powerful moves such as Sludge Bomb, Fire Blast, and Thunder make it an unpredictable threat that is hard to deal with. Furthermore, its access to Explosion makes it a literal time bomb, granting it the ability to take down threats with it that might be otherwise unable to defend against or to target its own checks to open up the opponent's defenses for its teammates. Its Poison typing is a blessing and a curse, as Weezing can take advantage of the common presence of Fighting-types like Primeape and Hitmonlee, but it is extremely susceptible to the top threat Xatu's STAB Psychic. Weezing's primary STAB move in Sludge Bomb has a high chance of inflicting poison, which can punish many checks that try to switch into it, such as Xatu, Dugtrio, and Sudowoodo, by setting them on a timer. Thunder similarly has a high chance of inflicting paralysis, which makes Weezing even harder to switch into safely. On top of this, it lands a guaranteed 2HKO on Xatu and also hits bulky Water-types hard. The last move depends on whichever benefit the player would like to have: greater coverage, the ability to stop opposing Pokemon from setting up, or longevity. Fire Blast threatens to KO Pineco from full and becomes guaranteed with any slight chip, preventing it from safely setting up Spikes. Fire Blast also lands an OHKO on Magnemite and does massive damage to Gloom, which can otherwise freely paralyze Weezing with Stun Spore or repeatedly use Curse and force Weezing to sacrifice itself with Explosion to take Gloom out. The combination of Sludge Bomb and Thunder tends to leave Weezing open for Ground- and Rock-types such as Dugtrio and Sudowoodo to come in and threaten it with Earthquake, so Weezing can opt for Hidden Power Water, which hits both for significant damage and OHKOes Graveler, but it comes at the cost of some bulk due to DV requirements. Haze nullifies any attempt at setting up and can shut down a potential sweep from any setup sweeper, such as Wigglytuff, Dunsparce, or Meditate Primeape. Lastly, not having any instant recovery moves can leave Weezing in a difficult spot when repeatedly switching into attacks, especially with Spikes down. Thus, Pain Split is a viable option, since it is the only instant recovery move that Weezing learns and can help to prolong the period of time before it is forced to use Explosion. Some of the Pokemon that benefit the most from having Weezing as a teammate are those that like to have Xatu removed by Explosion, such as Primeape, Hitmonlee, and other Xatu. Primeape, in turn, can threaten the majority of the slower, more defensive Pokemon that Weezing struggles to deal with, such as Pupitar and Sudowoodo. Primeape also threatens Normal-types, especially ones that give Weezing a hard time like Stantler and Wigglytuff, with Stantler having Earthquake and Wigglytuff being able to Curse up and force Weezing to explode on it rather than a different Pokemon like Xatu. Defensive Pokemon such as Dewgong and Sudowoodo fear the presence of Primeape on the opposing team and benefit greatly from Weezing's solid matchup against it. Dewgong is also a phenomenal switch into Xatu, taking little from its attacks and hitting back hard with Ice Beam while staying healthy with RestTalk. Water- and Grass-types like Octillery or Gloom with a Grass move can threaten Ground- and Rock-types like Dugtrio and Sudowoodo, which are otherwise solid switch-ins to Weezing as if they avoid poison from Sludge Bomb they can comfortably take Fire Blast and Thunder.
