Regieleki Movesets & Competitive Sets

Set Description Regieleki's amazing Speed stat and powerful Electric-type moves give it an unique niche in the metagame. Thunder Cage is its main STAB move, dealing solid damage and beating Endure users like Primarina, Blaziken, and Porygon-Z. Thunder deals more damage, which matters against Pokemon like Spectrier. Hyper Beam deals with some frail Pokemon that resist Electric, like Naganadel, Haxorus, and opposing Regieleki. Electro Ball covers for a few slow Pokemon like Registeel and specially defensive Aromatisse. EVs 252 SpA EVs let Regieleki maximize its damage output, while 252 Speed EVs let it tie opposing Regieleki and maximize Electro Ball damage. The remaining EVs are put in Defense, as most priority moves and the few Choice Scarf users that outspeed Regieleki skew physically. Usage Tips Regieleki's matchups are simple: figure out what move can OHKO and use it. Against potential Endure users like Primarina and Galarian Moltres, Regieleki should use Thunder Cage to KO them with trapping damage if they use Endure. In situations where Thunder Cage deals sufficient damage to KO, it should be used over Thunder, as it has a smaller risk to miss.

A special set helps Regieleki utilize Volt Switch, which allows it to damage and pivot out against Electric-resistant Pokemon such as Eternatus and Zekrom so that a teammate can take advantage of them. Transistor-boosted Thunderbolt makes Regieleki a powerful revenge killer that can OHKO threats such as Kyogre and take out a lot of slightly weakened Pokemon such as Ho-Oh, Yveltal, Calyrex-S, and offensive Necrozma-DM. Rapid Spin allows Regieleki to clear entry hazards in a pinch. Explosion prevents it from being total setup bait for Electric-resistant Pokemon such as Zygarde-C and Zekrom. A Rash nature is used instead of Mild in order to take priority attacks such as Marshadow's Shadow Sneak a little better and increase damage output. Heavy-Duty Boots can be used instead of Life Orb to pivot more freely throughout a match. As Regieleki often pivots out against bulky Electric-resistant Pokemon, Pokemon such as Xerneas and Eternatus that can threaten them out help Regieleki wear them down over time. Similarly, Pokemon such as Kyogre and Calyrex-I that can take advantage of Ground-types after an Explosion are useful partners. Pokemon that appreciate Eternatus being worn down such as Kyogre benefit from Regieleki's support. As Regieleki provides offensive and Rapid Spin support, it pairs well with Sticky Web setters such as Shuckle and Slurpuff.

A decently powerful Transistor-boosted Wild Charge and a phenomenal Speed tier let Regieleki revenge kill fast threats such as Choice Scarf Kyogre and Calyrex-S. It can also threaten common Defoggers such as Yveltal and Ho-Oh to keep entry hazards up. Wild Charge is used over Thunderbolt to hit specially defensive targets such as Yveltal harder while maintaining Attack EVs to power up Explosion. Assurance allows Regieleki to revenge kill Calyrex-S or smack it as it tries to switch in and spinblock while also nailing Shedinja. Thanks to Life Orb, Assurance also KOes 252 HP Lunala if it switches into Wild Charge. Explosion allows Regieleki to generate momentum, block Defog, and dent Electric-resistant Pokemon such as Eternatus, Zekrom, and Zygarde. Regieleki should be used on hyper offense teams, which appreciate its Rapid Spin support and revenge killing capabilities while not suffering too much from its lack of defensive utility, and is a nice teammate to Sticky Web setters such as Shuckle and Slurpuff. It often has to use Explosion against Electric-resistant Pokemon, so teammates that can take advantage of the free switch are great partners, such as Xerneas for Dragon-types and Kyogre for Ground-types. Regieleki also struggles against physically defensive Steel-type Pokemon that can take Wild Charge, such as Necrozma-DM, which can notably chip it down with Rocky Helmet; therefore, teammates that can offensively deal with them such as Groudon are helpful.

With Dynamax and bulk investment, Regieleki has better survivability and cataclysmic power. Rising Voltage gives Regieleki the most powerful Max Lightning, and Rising Voltage becomes even stronger in the Electric Terrain set by Regieleki's Max Lightning. Electroweb supports Regieleki's team outside of Dynamax. Hyper Beam is most useful for Max Strike, which is Regieleki's best way to hit pertinent Ground-types like Landorus-T and Groudon, and it has utility in lowering Speed. Life Orb grants Regieleki immense power, allowing it to 2HKO even Amoonguss. The given EVs are optimal for Life Orb recoil and allow Dynamaxed Regieleki to always survive Adamant Zacian-C's Behemoth Blade after Life Orb recoil. Regieleki also outspeeds +1 Landorus-T with the given Speed. Regieleki's EV spread is fairly flexible, and it can very viably forgo bulk for more Speed. This Regieleki set fits well on Calyrex-S hyper offense teams and Calyrex-I Trick Room teams. Regieleki and Calyrex-S have a limited pool of mostly different answers and are immensely powerful, which makes them strong together. Calyrex-I is an excellent Regieleki partner, as it can destroy Ground- and Grass-types like Groudon, Landorus-T, and Rillaboom, while the slow Trick Room teams Calyrex-I fits on appreciate having a fast and powerful Pokemon for increased flexibility. Helping Hand makes Regieleki capable of incredible feats such as OHKOing Porygon2 and Dynamaxed Calyrex-S. Indeedee-F and Whimsicott are good options to provide Helping Hand on Calyrex-S teams, and Dusclops can provide it on Calyrex-I teams.

With the highest Speed stat in the game, immensely powerful attacks, and incredible speed control in Electroweb, Regieleki is one of s11's top-tier Pokemon. Elecrtoweb is invaluable speed control that deals decent damage, ignores redirectors such as Amoonguss and Indeedee-F, and usually goes first with Regieleki's Speed. Thunder should only be run over Thunderbolt on teams with a rain setter. Thunder Wave and Eerie Impulse are niche support options that can be run over Thunderbolt or Volt Switch. Thunder Wave slows foes more severely than Electroweb and is particularly useful against Clear Body Dragapult, while Eerie Impulse weakens special attackers such as Venusaur, Rotom-H, and Coalossal. Magnet and Life Orb further increase Regieleki's incredible offense; Magnet lets a teammate such as Landorus-T, Dragapult, or Venusaur run Life Orb, but Life Orb is otherwise superior. Focus Sash is an especially useful item given Regieleki's frailty and makes it a great check to the combination of Tornadus and Kyogre. Regieleki's many positive qualities and strong synergy with other top-tier Pokemon allow it to fit on a wide variety of teams. Incineroar can threaten Grass-types such as Venusaur and Rillaboom, while Regieleki can thwart Water-types like Blastoise and Kyogre. Water-types are also strong teammates, able to check Ground-types like Landorus-T and Groudon for Regieleki. Zacian-C greatly benefits from Regieleki's Electroweb and ability to keep Water-types and Charizard in check. Landorus-T and Groudon appreciate Regieleki's speed control and Water-type checking, and Landorus-T can check Grass-types for Regieleki.

The boosts from its ability, its held item, and Electric Terrain allow Regieleki to hit like a truck with Rising Voltage, OHKOing neutral targets and 2HKOing bulky Electric-resistant Pokemon like Kyurem and Ferrothorn. Thunderbolt is a safe move to use outside of Electric Terrain and also hits non-grounded Pokemon like Latias for good damage. Volt Switch lets it keep up momentum for the team and bring in a teammate against Pokemon like Ferrothorn and Cradily when Electric Terrain is not active. Ancient Power lets Regieleki hit certain Pokemon like Lightning Rod Alolan Marowak for a 2HKO, letting Regieleki beat it on the switch. It is also Regieleki's best attack to hit Landorus-T. Rapid Spin can be used over Ancient Power to compress roles on offensive Electric-type teams. Maximum Speed investment with a Timid Nature makes it as fast as possible, letting it outspeed fast Pokemon like Choice Scarf Latios. Choice Specs boosts Regieleki's decent Special Attack to greater heights, making its attacks harder to tank. Tapu Koko is a crucial teammate, as it provides Regieleki with Electric Terrain, which further boosts the power of its moves—especially Rising Voltage. Tapu Koko can also deal with Dragon- and Dark-type Pokemon for Regieleki such as Garchomp and Hydreigon as well as Ground-type Pokemon such as Hippowdon and Gastrodon with Grass Knot. Teammates like Zeraora and Alolan Raichu greatly benefit from Regieleki's wallbreaking capabilities, as it's able to blow past Pokemon that check those two such as defensive Zapdos, Amoonguss, Ferrothorn, Blissey, and specially defensive Drapion. In return, Zeraora provides Knock Off support and can use its Choice Band set to form a wallbreaking core with Regieleki. Alolan Raichu, on the other hand, can capitalize on Regieleki's wallbreaking ability to clean teams late-game and take care of Ground-type Pokemon like Gastrodon, Swampert, and Hippowdon with Grass Knot, which Regieleki dislikes facing. Rotom-W and Zapdos provide a good defensive backbone and pair of Ground immunities for Regieleki to rely on while also providing Defog support to keep it healthy and not slowed down by Sticky Web. Defensive Zapdos with Static also checks problematic Pokemon like Grassy Glide Rillaboom and Tapu Bulu for Regieleki and takes care of them with Heat Wave. Air Balloon Magnezone can trap and beat certain checks to Regieleki such as Ferrothorn and Choice item Excadrill.

When paired with Tapu Koko, Rising Voltage is Regieleki's main attacking option, its massive power devastating most foes. Volt Switch lets Regieleki deal significant chip damage in positions where it can't threaten a KO while transitioning to teammates with a better match-up. Electroweb doubles as a handy, albeit weak, spread attack as well as immediate, reliable speed control thanks to Regieleki's high Speed, useful for letting teammates follow up for a quick KO. The final moveslot serves as a last resort attacking option for when Regieleki can't rely on Rising Voltage. Thunderbolt is preferred for its consistency and better usability against faster offensive teams, while Electro Ball is an aggressive option against slower team compositions, being stronger against threats around Incineroar's Speed tier and lower. The offensive investment with a Modest nature maximizes Regieleki's damage output while still outrunning Choice Scarf users, such as Genesect, Urshifu-R, and Galarian Zapdos. The Defense and HP investment let it survive Rillaboom's Grassy Glide. An alternative spread of 4 HP / 44 Def / 244 SpA / 216 Spe with a Timid nature can be used to let Regieleki outrun Modest Kingdra under rain.

Regieleki’s access to Electroweb and amazing base 200 Speed make it one of 2v2 Doubles's premier means of speed control. Electroweb is especially devastating in 2v2 Doubles because the changes in Speed take effect immediately, as opposed to at the end of the turn. Thunder is used, despite its shaky accuracy, for bulkier targets that Thunderbolt cannot reliably OHKO. For example, it always OHKOes offensive Genesect if it hits. 228 Speed EVs allows Regieleki to outspeed opponents such as Zapdos-Galar and Victini at +1 speed or when Regieleki is at -1 Speed. The Special Attack is for maximum damage. The rest of the EVs are extra, and can be moved into Speed for the Regieleki mirror matchup if desired. Regieleki is often paired with teammates that benefit from the excellent speed control it provides, such as Genesect, Pheromosa, and Regidrago. Regieleki's teammates will also cover for common Pokemon that resist or are immune to its Electric-type attacks, such as Naganadel, Zygarde, and Landorus-T. Common Pokemon that fill this role are Kyurem-B, Urshifu-R, and Cinderace.

One of Regieleki's biggest weaknesses is being OHKOed before it can move after opposing Prankster Whimsicott or Tornadus sets Tailwind up. However, when holding a Choice Scarf, Regieleki will outspeed nearly everything in the format despite Tailwind and drop their Speed with Electroweb before they move. Hyper Beam is used as a means of hitting Ground-, Grass- and Dragon-type Pokemon, like Zygarde, Whimsicott, and Landorus-T with a burst of damage before being KOed. This Regieleki has the EVs to survive +0 Bug Buzz from Defensive Life Orb Genesect, and outspeed Tornadus in Tailwind with some extra Speed to spare. Choice Scarf Regieleki pairs well with Pokemon that struggle against Prankster Tailwind, such as Pheromosa and Naganadel. Choice Scarf Regieleki is especially great with Pheromosa because Electroweb allows Pheromosa to outspeed -1 Speed Genesect in Tailwind, nabbing a surprise KO on it with Close Combat after Electroweb. Choice Scarf Regieleki struggles against the Ground- and Dragon-types of the tier, most notably Kyurem-B, Landorus-T, Zygarde, and Naganadel. Pheromosa, Kyurem-B, Naganadel, Urshifu-R, and other Pokemon with similar offensive typings generally deal with these Pokemon well with the amazing speed control Regieleki provides.

Regieleki's phenomenal Speed tier and access to Rapid Spin allow it to act as a valuable entry hazard remover for offensive teams in AG. In addition, it can outspeed notable fast threats such as Choice Scarf Kyogre, Calyrex-S, and Zacian-C, enabling it to act as a revenge killer on such teams. Wild Charge deals immediate damage to bulky Flying-types such as Ho-Oh and Yveltal, as well as Kyogre, while hitting decently hard generally in conjunction with Transistor, allowing Regieleki to heavily damage Zacian-C. Explosion lets Regieleki KO itself once it has successfully removed entry hazards with Rapid Spin, generating momentum for its offensive teammates to enter safely and set up, while also potentially blocking opposing Defoggers from removing hazards set by Regieleki's teammates. Additionally, it KOes Eternatus and prevents Regieleki from being complete setup bait against the likes of Groudon, Zekrom, and Zygarde-C, bringing in teammates that can set up on these foes besides dealing damage. Assurance OHKOes Calyrex-S, even without prior hazard damage, and nails other Ghost-types like Lunala that spinblock Regieleki. Life Orb with an Adamant nature maximizes Regieleki's damage output, making it a better revenge killer and increasing damage against bulky walls such as Eternatus. Regieleki primarily fits on hyper offense teams, as they greatly appreciate its Rapid Spin support, and its fantastic Speed tier prevents fast threats such as Choice Scarf Kyogre, Zacian-C, and Calyrex-S from wrecking the team. Regieleki particularly struggles against entry hazard setters like Necrozma-DM and Ferrothorn, as their Rocky Helmet and Iron Barbs, respectively, can wear it down, while Wild Charge cannot deal too much damage against them. Its mediocre bulk leaves it very susceptible to their moves in return. Teammates that can pressure these foes such as Life Orb Yveltal, Calyrex-S, and Groudon are thus appreciated. Regieleki struggles against Electric-resistant Pokemon such as Groudon, Zekrom, and Zygarde-C, only having Explosion to meaningfully hit them. Teammates that can enter after Explosion and deal with them such as Xerneas, Calyrex-S, and Life Orb Yveltal are beneficial.

Regieleki's blazing Speed tier and coveted BoltBeam coverage thanks to Refrigerate allow it to be a solid pivot, revenge killer, and entry hazard remover all in one. Volt Switch threatens non-Volt Absorb Corviknight, Tapu Fini, and Toxapex, lets it pivot out of checks such as Ferrothorn and specially defensive Heatran, and works exceptionally well with its Refrigerate-boosted attacks that dissuade Ground-types like Garchomp and Landorus-T from trying to block it. Refrigerate-boosted Extreme Speed revenge kills boosted threats like Garchomp, Galarian Moltres, and Salamence, outprioritizes Dhelmise and Zarude's Grassy Glide and Zygarde-10%'s Extreme Speed, and highly damages specially defensive Pokemon like Blissey. Explosion can surprise and cripple foes like Ferrothorn, Swampert, and Volt Absorb Corviknight and allow a teammate to come in freely afterwards. Rapid Spin supports its teammates with entry hazard removal, especially with Refrigerate to prevent spinblocking attempts from the likes of Dhelmise and Doublade. Never-Melt Ice can be used instead of Life Orb to boost Regieleki's Ice coverage without taking recoil. The Speed EVs let Regieleki outspeed +1 base 100 Speed Pokemon like Mew, Volcarona, and Jirachi. Refrigerate Regieleki fits in hyper and bulky offense teams by providing them with valuable offensive utility. It provides insurance for the team by reliably outspeeding and threatening fast threats like Barraskewda, Azelf, and Cinderace that would otherwise overwhelm its teammates prior to boosting. Teammates weak to entry hazards like Focus Sash Polteageist, Choice Band Cinderace, and Aerilate Salamence appreciate Regieleki's Rapid Spin support. Cinderace, in particular, can help pressure Regieleki's Steel-type checks in Heatran, Ferrothorn, and RegenVest Jirachi as well as forgo Court Change in favor of another attacking move. Due to Regieleki's inability to threaten Swampert outside of KOing itself with Explosion, teammates like Zarude and Dhelmise are necessary to pressure it. Without having to rely on Defog, hazard-stacking leads like Skarmory and Mew can freely set up Stealth Rock and Spikes, with Regieleki also threatening common Defoggers like Corviknight, Mandibuzz, and Tapu Fini. Barraskewda forms a fast and potent VoltTurn core with Regieleki by bringing it in safely on its bulky Water-type switch-ins like Slowbro and Tapu Fini. Wallbreakers like Galarian Zapdos and Terrakion also appreciate Regieleki's Volt Switch to bring them in on foes like Heatran and Blissey.

Regieleki's unmatched Speed tier alongside an adequate utility movepool makes it one of the metagame's best dedicated dual screens leads. The combination of Reflect, Light Screen, and Light Clay gives its teammates plenty of opportunities to set up. Rapid Spin helps counter opposing entry hazard leads like Azelf and Swampert and works well with Refrigerate to prevent Ghost-types like Dhelmise and Chandelure from spinblocking. Refrigerate-boosted Explosion also prevents the aforementioned Ghost-types from blocking Regieleki entirely, punishes unsuspecting Ground-types like Garchomp and Landorus-T, and generates momentum to give free entry for its teammates. Volt switch is an alternative support option to pivot Regieleki's teammates safely into the field without KOing itself, potentially to set up dual screens again later. Prankster might seem redundant, but it usually guarantees both screens are set against priority users like Grassy Surge Zarude and Dhelmise. The Speed EVs let Regieleki outspeed Choice Scarf Azelf; if forgoing Explosion, maximum HP investment is also an option. Regieleki fits exclusively on hyper offense teams that appreciate it reliably setting up dual screens and removing entry hazards. Setup sweepers like Kommo-o, Galarian Moltres, Volcarona, Polteageist, and Dhelmise love Regieleki's dual screens to set up easier. Rapid Spin also significantly helps Polteageist, Volcarona, and Galarian Moltres, preserving the former's Focus Sash and alleviating the latter two's Stealth Rock weakness to opt for more offensive items or abilities such as Sheer Force + Life Orb and Weakness Policy, respectively. Dhelmise's Grassy Surge also grants Regieleki with much-appreciated recovery, as well as weakening Earthquake from foes like Swampert and Garchomp, providing it with longevity to set up dual screens again.

Regieleki's absurd Speed stat and access to Explosion makes it an ideal choice for setting up Reflect and Light Screen. Volt Switch lets Regieleki become a decent scout, while Thunderbolt has the most consistent damage output. Wild Charge can be used with maximum Attack investment for a more powerful Explosion. Make sure to pair this Regieleki with powerful sweepers that benefit from dual screens, such as Galarian Moltres and Glastrier. EV Spreads Regieleki has many different benchmarks to go for. At minimum, all EV spreads will avoid a Special Attack boost from Porygon2's Download. 148 HP / 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 100 Spe with Timid or Jolly: This EV spread allows Regieleki to outspeed up to +1 Nihilego. If using Wild Charge, invest in Attack instead of Special Attack. 92 HP / 68 Def / 252 Spa / 76 SpD / 20 Spe with Timid or Jolly: This EV spread allows Regieleki to survive Jolly Landorus-T's Earthquake after Reflect is set up, while still outspeeding up to Choice Scarf Urshifu-R. If using Wild Charge, use a Jolly nature and Attack investment. 116 HP / 116 Def / 132 SpA / 124 SpD / 20 Spe with Timid or Jolly: This EV spread will survive Adamant Landorus-T Earthquake after a Reflect, while outspeeding up to Choice Scarf Urshifu-R. Use Jolly and Attack investment if using Wild Charge. 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe with Modest or Adamant: This EV spread allows Regieleki to outspeed up to +1 base 100 Speed Pokemon, such as Salamence, while maximizing its power. Use Adamant and Attack investment for Wild Charge.

Transistor and its insane Speed make Regieleki a fearsome late-game cleaner once Ground-types are sufficently weakened. Hyper Beam is a very risky move, but it's Regieleki's best shot at dealing serious damage to Landorus-T and Hippowdon, and makes for a powerful Max Strike while Dynamaxed. Ancient Power allows Regieleki to 2HKO Thundurus-T without relying on Max Strike. Rising Voltage can be used to have a more powerful Max Lighting, and deal massive damage to grounded targets under Electric Terrain. Items Choice Specs makes Regieleki a powerful late-game cleaner without much hassle to use. Life Orb makes Regieleki more suited towards Dynamax sweeping, Magnet is a viable alternative if a different Pokemon is holding Life Orb. EV Spreads 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe with Modest: This EV spread allows Regieleki to outspeed up to +1 Base 100 Speed Pokemon such as Salamence, prevents Porygon2 from getting a Special Attack boost from Download, and maximizes Regieleki's Special Attack. 148 HP / 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 100 Spe with Timid: This spread allows Regieleki to outspeed up to +1 Speed Nihilego. The leftover 4 EVs can be put anywhere but Defense, as this will boost Porygon2's Special Attack with Download.
