Analisi

Moves Rock Blast is Alolan Geodude's main STAB move, hitting Flying-types for super effective damage and helping it check threats such as Vullaby and Doduo. Fire Punch OHKOes Ferroseed and hit other Grass-types. Superpower helps Alolan Geodude by OHKOing Pawniard and Magnemite, as well as hitting Rock-types super effectively. Stealth Rock is useful thanks to Alolan Geodude's bulk to set up against trapped Pokemon like Ferroseed and Pawniard. Set Details Magnet Pull is required for this set to work, trapping Ferroseed and Pawniard. 36 EVs in HP and 116 EVs in Defense along with Eviolite allow Alolan Geodude to switch into Pawniard and avoid being 2HKOed by Knock Off followed by Iron Head. 116 EVs in Attack secure the OHKO on both Ferroseed and Pawniard with the adequate coverage. 36 EVs in Speed let Alolan Geodude outspeed Ferroseed in order to effectively trap it. Usage Tips Alolan Geodude should be sent into the field if Ferroseed or Pawniard are going to switch in, which can be done by providing momentum via Volt Switch and U-turn or on double switches. If a teammate has been weakened by Pawniard, Alolan Geodude can be sent in to trap and revenge kill it. Alolan Geodude can only set Stealth Rock up against Pawniard if it comes in unscathed and against Ferroseed if it doesn't take a Knock Off. It is important for Alolan Geodude to stay healthy throughout the match if it has to trap anything. Moreover, it must be careful with Diglett on opposing teams and should not come into pivoting moves such as U-turn to avoid getting trapped. In case there are no trappers, Alolan Geodude's typing can be used to check Flying-types such as Doduo, but it is important to distinguish when to use it and when to keep it healthy to trap important threats. Team Options Pokemon that provide momentum such as Mienfoo and Vullaby make decent partners by helping Alolan Geodude pivot in safely. Grass-types such as Foongus and Snivy can help mitigate the weakness against Diglett, as well as check Ground- and Water-types. Moreover, Snivy benefits from Alolan Geodude removing both Pawniard and Ferroseed to help it act as a wallbreaker in a more effective way. Similarly, wallbreakers such as Abra and Gastly enjoy getting these threats removed to break through many common builds. Shellder is a setup sweeper that appreciates both Pawniard and Ferroseed getting removed in order to set up and clean teams with ease. Checks to Fighting-types such as Spritzee help Alolan Geodude with its weakness in exchange for trapping Steel-types. Lastly, Flying-types such as Doduo and Vullaby appreciate Alolan Geodude removing Pawniard, and in return they help with checking Grass-types, which can manage Alolan Geodude with ease.
