Life Orb Psychic severely damages most targets. Dazzling Gleam hits Vullaby and other Dark-types. Fire Punch is used with 36 Attack EVs to let Abra 2HKO Ferroseed, while Submission with 116 Attack EVs allows it to OHKO Pawniard. Protect blocks Mienfoo's Fake Out and Trapinch's First Impression and bluffs Abra's Focus Sash set. Alternatively, Substitute allows Abra to take advantage of a forced switch and fire off an extra attack while also letting it avoid Pawniard's Sucker Punch. Inner Focus is a notable alternative over Magic Guard that lets Abra ignore flinch from Mienfoo's Fake Out in the lead matchup and KO it. Life Orb Abra is best utilized as an early- and mid-game wallbreaker, taking advantage of its incredible damage output to weaken opposing defensive cores. However, it should be played carefully, especially against teams with trappers, as Life Orb Abra is incredibly vulnerable to being trapped and removed. Abra fits on Spikes-stacking offense teams, taking advantage of Dwebble's and Ferroseed's Spikes weakening foes into KO range of its powerful attacks. Trappers such as Diglett and Trapinch can eliminate the troublesome Pawniard and Ferroseed, as well as opposing trappers. On less offensive team structures, playing Abra more passively and bluffing Focus Sash can be beneficial, as it causes the opponent to be more cautious. Knock Off absorbers such as Timburr and Mienfoo, as well as defensive cores like Ferroseed + Mareanie and Staryu + Foongus, can help Abra handle opposing Dark-types and Choice Scarf users like Porygon and Vulpix. Grass-resistant foes like Foongus, Koffing, and Ponyta are also appreciated, helping Abra against Grookey. Abra has good synergy with other special attackers like Porygon and Staryu due to their ability to wear down shared checks like Ferroseed and Frillish.

戰術分析
Protect blocks Fake Out from Mienfoo and First Impression from Trapinch, preserving Focus Sash and preventing the latter from KOing Abra. Counter synergizes with Focus Sash to potentially revenge kill Pokemon Abra otherwise struggles to KO like Grookey and Pawniard, while Thunder Wave cripples switch-ins like Pawniard and serves as a safety net against Choice Scarf users and setup sweepers. Abra is best utilized as an early- and mid-game wallbreaker and late-game cleaner. It is very important that Focus Sash is preserved until the late-game, as Abra often will be the best option to revenge kill setup sweepers. Fighting-types such as Mienfoo and Timburr complement Abra really well, pressuring Steel-types like Pawniard and Ferroseed; in return, Abra is able to handle Poison-types like Foongus, Mareanie, and Koffing, which limit the effectiveness of the Fighting-types. The aforementioned Poison-types are also solid partners, absorbing priority attacks such as Grookey's Grassy Glide and Timburr's Mach Punch and preserving Abra's Focus Sash. Knock Off support from Mienfoo, Timburr, and Pawniard allows Abra to KO foes like Foongus and Mareanie with Psychic. Trappers such as Diglett and Trapinch can remove Pawniard, Ferroseed, and opposing Diglett. Abra synergizes well with other special attackers like Galarian Ponyta and Porygon to overwhelm opposing Steel-types.

Shed Shell mitigates one of the most effective ways to remove Abra in trappers, making it a fearsome offensive threat. Both Focus Punch and Fire Punch target Steel-types; Focus Punch OHKOes Pawniard, while Fire Punch heavily dents Ferroseed. Substitute takes advantage of Abra forcing switches to give it an extra layer of protection while also making it easier to use Focus Punch. Alternatively, Abra can forgo Substitute and fit both Focus Punch and Fire Punch to be less prediction reliant. Inner Focus helps Abra in the lead matchup by preventing it from flinching due to Mienfoo's Fake Out and letting it potentially set up with Substitute. Abra is best utilized as an early- and mid-game wallbreaker and late-game cleaner. Shed Shell allows Abra to be played more aggressively, as it doesn't have to fear getting trapped. It also lets Abra be utilized as a lead to beat lead Mienfoo, giving insurance if Mienfoo pivots to a trapper. Fighting-types such as Mienfoo and Timburr pressure Steel-types like Pawniard and Ferroseed; in return, Abra handles Poison-types like Foongus, Mareanie, and Koffing. Knock Off support from Mienfoo, Ferroseed, and Pawniard allows Abra to KO foes like Foongus and Mareanie with Psychic; Ferroseed and Pawniard also help check problematic foes like Choice Scarf Porygon. Trappers such as Diglett and Trapinch can remove Pawniard, Ferroseed, and opposing Diglett.

Life Orb + Magic Guard with decent Special Attack and Speed makes Abra a threat for many walls in the tier. Magic Guard prevents Life Orb recoil while armoring Abra against status and entry hazard chip damage. Shadow Ball hits Galarian Corsola, Lampent, and Duosion. Dazzling Gleam is important for coverage against Dark-types such as Vullaby, Galarian Linoone, and Morgrem. Abra's last moveslot is flexible: Knock Off debilitates special walls such as Vullaby, Ferroseed, and Klang, which normally switch into Abra, while Substitute reduces the need for prediction when the foe is going to switch out, and Seismic Toss deals consistent damage against Steel-type Pokemon such as Ferroseed and Klang. Another set option worth using is Focus Sash + Counter. This combination brings less raw power than Life Orb Abra, but Magic Guard keeps Focus Sash safe through entry hazards, letting Abra survive against and KO physical attackers that would otherwise OHKO it. Due to Abra's frailty, it needs resilient teammates such as Galarian Corsola, Roselia, Ferroseed, and Clefairy, which can handle some common revenge killers that force Abra out such as Electabuzz, Raboot, Galarian Linoone, and Thwackey. Moreover, these aformentioned walls can also set entry hazards, which make Abra's checks less able to switch into its attacks. Abra has good synergy with Pokemon such as Tangela and Vullaby that some have Knock Off to debilitate two of its main switch-ins, named Vullaby and Ferroseed. Abra's own Knock Off can hinder its common switch-ins such as Vullaby, Clefairy, and Ferroseed, clearing the path to wallbreak for teammates such as Piloswine, Raboot, and Lampent. VoltTurn cores such as Raboot + Electabuzz help bring Abra into the field against walls such as Galarian Corsola and Roselia, which are scared of Abra's special attacks. Slow pivots such as Vullaby and Wartortle can also help, bringing Abra in against common walls such as Clefairy and Roselia, respectively.

Moves Psychic is a hard-hitting STAB move that Abra will be using most often. Dazzling Gleam lets you hit Dark-types and eases prediction versus Fighting-types. For the third slot, Hidden Power Fighting can be used to let Abra OHKO Pawniard; Hidden Power Ground can also be used to let Abra avoid being trapped by Alolan Grimer if it is used on the switch or from behind a Substitute. Alternatively, Energy Ball can be used to let Abra 2HKO Slowpoke, OHKO Chinchou and Drilbur, and do more damage to Mudbray. Lastly, Substitute is good for exploiting the many switches Abra forces and absorbing random statuses such as Foongus's Spore. Psychic Terrain is an alternative to get around priority and further boost Abra's power, but can be difficult to set up due to Abra's frailty. Set Details The EV spread on this set is rather self-explanatory. 200 Speed EVs with a Timid nature let Abra reach 19 Speed, which is enough to outspeed the majority of the unboosted metagame, and 240 Special Attack EVs let Abra hit as hard as possible. Life Orb gives Abra wallbreaking potential, turning certain 3HKOs into 2HKOs and certain 2HKOs into OHKOs. For example, Life Orb Abra OHKOes Foongus, slow Mienfoo, Timburr, and bulky Berry Juice Archen from full, as well as 2HKOing Spritzee, specially defensive Mudbray, and Pumpkaboo. Usage Tips Life Orb Abra is a wallbreaker. In addition to protecting it from entry hazards, Magic Guard also lets Abra not take damage from Life Orb recoil. This is partly why Life Orb Abra is so threatening; it can feign holding Focus Sash, allowing it to nab some surprise OHKOs and 2HKOs. As a wallbreaker, Life Orb Abra is often played early on in the match and very aggressively. Abra will be using Psychic or whatever coverage move is super effective, though it can also use Substitute on predicted switches so that it does not need to predict perfectly. Substitute can also be used to avoid Sucker Punches from Pawniard. Team Options VoltTurn support is helpful for Life Orb Abra, since even without Focus Sash, Abra doesn't particularly like switching into attacks. Magnemite, Chinchou, and Mienfoo work nicely for this. Seeing as Life Orb Abra is a wallbreaker, this set pairs nicely with Pokemon that enjoy having bulky walls lured and KOed, such as Shell Smash Shellder and Nasty Plot Vullaby. Also, on sets that have Hidden Power Fighting over Hidden Power Ground, Diglett can be used to countertrap Alolan Grimer.

戰術分析
Moves Psychic is a strong STAB attack that lets Abra hit the large number of Fighting- and Poison-types in the tier. Dazzling Gleam hits Dark-types for super effective damage, letting Abra revenge kill Vullaby and Scraggy. Hidden Power Fighting or Fire gives Abra a way to hit annoying Steel-types like Magnemite, Pawniard and Ferroseed. Alternatively, Counter can be used to bait in physical attackers, primarily Pursuit trappers, and retaliate if Abra has retained its Focus Sash. Abra's final slot is a decision between Protect, Energy Ball, and Psychic Terrain. Protect allows Abra to scout against Choice Scarf users and get around Fake Out. Energy Ball lets Abra 2HKO Slowpoke and Mudbray, OHKO Shellder, and more reliably revenge kill bulky Shell Smashers. Psychic Terrain lets Abra get around priority and potentially pull off a late game sweep. Set Details Abra's EV spread is very straightforward. 200 Speed EVs with a Timid nature let Abra hit 19 Speed, which lets it outspeed the unboosted tier except for Diglett, Elekid, and Voltorb, and 240 Special Attack EVs let Abra hit as hard as possible. The combination of Focus Sash and Magic Guard means Abra can act as a one-time stop to set-up sweepers lacking multi-hit moves, because Magic Guard ignores entry hazard damage that would otherwise break Abra's Focus Sash. Usage Tips Abra is an amazing revenge killer, as it possesses good coverage, blazing Speed, and a sky-high Special Attack, but it has horrendous defenses. Thus, Abra should not be switched directly into play, but rather through U-turn or Volt Switch or after a KO. Furthermore, Abra is very susceptible to trappers such as Diglett and Alolan Grimer, the latter of which can switch in on it. For this reason, if there are trappers on the opposing team paired with a sweeper, it's best to not put Abra into play until the opposing sweeper has set up. Versus teams that lack trapping, Abra does not need to be played conservatively and can freely pressure the opposing team. Lastly, Abra should not be sent out versus Pokemon with priority unless necessary, because otherwise it will lose its Focus Sash. In most situations, Abra will be using Psychic or a super effective coverage move, but Knock Off can be used on predicted switches to walls like Munchlax and Bronzor. Keep in mind that Knock Off is a very high-risk move, though, and if Abra uses Knock Off in any other situations, it will likely be losing its Focus Sash. Note that while Psychic does more damage to Fighting-types, Dazzling Gleam is a good move to use if the Fighting-type Abra is facing is at medium-to-low HP and you're unsure whether or not the opponent will send in a Dark-type. Team Options Because Abra cannot switch into play, Pokemon like Magnemite, Chinchou, and Mienfoo pair nicely with it. These Pokemon provide VoltTurn support for Abra so it can get into play without wasting its Focus Sash. Checks to priority users such as Pawniard, Corphish, and Timburr are appreciated for the same reason. Fighting-types like Mienfoo and Timburr cover Pawniard, Foongus and Spritzee cover Timburr, and Foongus and Chinchou cover Corphish for Abra. To mitigate Abra's tendency to be Pursuit trapped by Alolan Grimer, Diglett can also be run as a partner to countertrap it.

戰術分析
The combination of Magic Guard and Focus Sash is critical for this set to function, since it allows Abra to survive all single-hit attacks at least once. Signal Beam gives it excellent coverage to hit threats like Beheeyem and Shiftry, which is cannot hit with just Psychic. Abra has a flexible choice of three good options for the last two moveslots. Thunder Wave is handy for disabling any fast threats like Simisear and Jumpluff that might cause trouble otherwise. Knock Off is great for disrupting foes by getting rid of valuable items like Eviolite from common switch-ins like Bronzor, and with Magic Guard, Abra can actually afford to come in and use Knock Off potentially multiple times in a single match. Alternatively, Encore is good for endlessly forcing support and setup Pokemon into using unfavorable moves such as Duosion and Beheeyem into Calm Mind and Bronzor into Stealth Rock. Abra finds a home on offensive teams that tend to not have enough of a defensive backbone to take on multiple varied threats and therefore need a blanket check to most Pokemon thrown their way. It is unique in that it does not provide much to a team in terms of basic offensive and defensive synergy, but it instead fills its shortcomings in roles. Abra's ability to disable fast threats like Rapidash and Simisear by paralyzing them with Thunder Wave or revenge killing them is extremely appreciated by wallbreaking and sweeping teammates like Monferno and Huntail that might be revenge killed otherwise. Abra's ability to further disable walls like Bronzor and Stunfisk with Encore and Knock Off also makes them considerably easier to overcome, which is adored by partners like Torterra and Zebstrika that are walled otherwise. It also desperately wants to avoid taking any unnecessary damage, so partners that can bring it in safely like Klang and Jumpluff are great choices. Common priority users such as Shiftry and Monferno frequently attempt to finish Abra off after its Focus Sash is broken, so switch-ins like Klang and Stunfisk also make for good partners to absorb those attacks.

戰術分析
Abra can function very well as a Choice user due to the excellent coverage provided by its attacks, and can effectively run Choice Scarf or Choice Specs due to its high Special Attack and Speed. Psychic is Abra's strongest STAB move, and its main attack on this set. Signal Beam provides good coverage alongside Psychic. Choice Scarf is generally the more reliable option with this set, due to the Little Cup metagame being very centralized around Speed. Choice Scarf boosts Abra's Speed to 28 with a Timid nature, matched only by positive natured 83-92 Base Speed Choice Scarf users, such as Gligar, and neutral-natured 93-100 Base Speed Choice Scarf users, such as Diglett, and surpassed only in Speed by 93-100 Speed Pokemon with a positive nature. However, Modest is also a very viable option due to Abra gaining 2 extra points in Special Attack, which can make the difference between winning and losing a battle. It is important to note, however, that you risk tying with 18 Speed Choice Scarf users such as Gastly. Hidden Power Ground is the superior option on this set due to Abra's ability to outpace a +2 Aron, even with a Modest nature. Trick is slightly less effective on this set, as many Pokemon in Little Cup will hardly mind the boost in Speed. However, it is still useful for Pokemon such as Wynaut who lose their effectiveness when locked into a move. Trick can also be useful for Pokemon who may try to set up on Abra, forcing them to switch out, and not allowing them to sweep as effectively. Choice Specs is a fun option with this set as Abra has good Speed, which allows it to run the set effectively, and its Special Attack gets boosted to astronomical levels with the Choice Specs boost. Timid is the only nature to use for this set, as it lets Abra tie with other 19 Speed Pokemon, such as Gligar and Staryu. Hidden Power Fire is generally the better option with Choice Specs, as Abra can hit Bronzor for massive damage, being able to OHKO max HP variants if they lack Special Defense EVs. Trick can be very effective on this set, as it can be a pain for physical attackers, who receive no boost in anything useful, and are forced to lock into an attack. This set demands a high degree of prediction as any Choice set does due to being locked into one attack before switching out. Dark-types are also immune to Abra's strongest attack, making it even more difficult to play with this set. Predicting incorrectly and using Psychic on a switch to Carvanha gives it a free Substitute, which can be a major pain to any team. Also, using Psychic on a Dark-type Pokemon who knows Pursuit, such as Houndour or Stunky, spells instant death for Abra, and Munchlax can also Pursuit Abra while taking low damage from all of Abra's attacks, particularly on sets with Choice Scarf. Because of this, Abra sweeps best if Dark-types and Munchlax are removed from play. The Choice Specs set also greatly appreciates the removal of Choice Scarf users, as they can outpace and potentially KO Abra. Croagunk works well with Abra because of this, as it is able to wear down Choice Scarf users with priority attacks.

戰術分析
The goal of this set is to use Abra's awesome power while attempting to get rid of its glaring weakness to priority. If Abra manages to get a Substitute up, it has a good chance of taking down Pokemon who rely on priority to take down Abra, such as Carvanha and Croagunk. Substitute can also be troublesome for slower Pokemon, as it turns potential OHKOs into 2HKOs. This can be helpful if, for example, a weakened Munchlax is trying to take down Abra. Munchlax could be relying on only taking one hit from Abra and instead has to waste a turn taking down Abra's Substitute. Psychic is Abra's main STAB attack, which will hit any Pokemon who isn't resistant or immune to it very hard. The exception to this is Munchlax, with its massive HP and Special Defense. Signal Beam provides excellent coverage alongside Psychic, hitting Dark- and Psychic-types for super effective damage. With the excellent coverage that these two attacks provide, there is hardly anything left to hit. Hidden Power Fire provides super effective coverage on Bronzor, while Hidden Power Ground is almost exclusively for Aron, though it also provides good coverage on Houndour and Magnemite. However, Magnemite is already hit hard by Hidden Power Fire. Encore can be an interesting option on this set, as it can provide an excellent opportunity for one of your other sweepers to set up. For example, if Abra Encores a Gligar's Earthquake, it provides a Pokemon such as Mantyke with a free turn of setup. Encore can also aid Abra in setting up a Substitute if Abra manages to Encore a non-attacking move. Life Orb gives even more power to Abra's already powerful attacks, and due to Abra's 19 HP stat, Life Orb only takes 1 HP due to recoil. Inner Focus allows Abra to take Fake Out, a common attack in Little Cup, without flinching. Abra can then either use Substitute, or if it is running Encore, Encore a move that won't work the next turn. Timid is the best option for this set because it allows Abra to tie with the majority of non-Choice Scarf sweepers in Little Cup. The purpose of the EVs on this set is to maximize Abra's sweeping potential by maxing Special Attack and Speed. Due to the IV drop from either Hidden Power Fire or Hidden Power Ground, Abra is forced to add an extra 4 EVs in each stat, making it so that Abra cannot gain a point in any other stat. If you choose to run Encore instead of a Hidden Power you want to run a spread of 76 Def / 236 SpA / 196 Spe. 76 EVs in Special Defense as opposed to Defense is also viable. Two partners who work well with this set are Choice Scarf Gligar and Choice Scarf Mankey. Both have access to U-turn to scout for Abra and both can dispose of Munchlax, a Pokemon who gives Abra a fair bit of trouble. One must be very careful when using this set, as an incorrect prediction can lead to a dead Abra. For example, if Abra attempts to use Substitute on a Choice Scarf Pokemon, anticipating the switch, but instead the Pokemon attacks, Abra will not have enough HP to do much else. It is also very difficult to get a Substitute up with Abra, as many Pokemon will choose to simply attack rather than switch due to Abra's frailty. Abra works better as an early-game sweeper because of this, as the opponent is much more likely to switch when there are more options to switch to. In the late-game, there is a greater chance the opponent will leave his or her Pokemon in, possibly because there is a lack of a better options.

戰術分析
Abra is the fastest user of dual screens in Little Cup. To go along with this, Abra is also tied for being the fastest user of Encore with Poliwag. On paper, Abra seems to be an inferior user due to its very low defenses, but its high Speed can make it very effective. Abra has the ability to very quickly set up screens, often before the opponent even attacks, giving Abra greater staying power and more time to execute its plan. A fast Encore is also very useful against leads with Stealth Rock, as Abra can set up a screen on the first turn, and if the opponent used Stealth Rock, Abra can Encore, forcing the opponent into a worthless move and allowing Abra to get up its second screen. This set functions very well as a lead if one is trying to set up screens as early as possible as well as there being common moves seen from the lead position that Abra can Encore, such as Stealth Rock and Fake Out. Psychic gives Abra an attack on this set, and can still hit very hard despite the lack of Special Attack EVs. Light Clay is chosen so that the screens last 8 turns instead of 5, which can make a very big difference thanks to the fast pace of Little Cup. Inner Focus is very useful particularly against Fake Out leads such as Meowth, as Abra won't flinch. This gives Abra an opportunity to either Encore the lead, making it so that Fake Out will fail next turn, or set up its screen of choice. Timid nature is chosen to help Abra reach the magical 19 Speed without hindering its defenses or Special Attack. The EVs given are to improve Abra's bulk while still keeping it at maximum Speed. This Abra functions best in the lead position, because in most cases, you will want to get up screens as soon as possible. The ability Inner Focus also helps out with Abra being in the lead position, as Fake Out leads are relatively common. Abra doesn't really need any support here; it will be the one supporting other teammates for a sweep. In general, bulky setup sweepers benefit the most from screens, letting them set up and sweep while taking relatively low damage. Good examples of this would be Totodile, Krabby, Dratini, and Bagon. All of them are fairly bulky and can be very difficult to take down behind screens.

Set Description Calm Mind makes Abra an even scarier attacker and helps it bypass Pokemon like Flareon, Metang, and Torkoal. Psychic has good neutral coverage and hits prominent Pokemon like Hitmonchan, Roselia, and Golbat hard. Fire Punch complements Psychic well by targeting foes resistant or immune to it like Metang, Mawile, and Cacturne; it's also Abra's best way to hit Chimecho and Sableye. Substitute provides Abra with insurance against revenge killers and helps activate Salac Berry. Endure is an alternative to Substitute that lets Abra get its Speed boost from its Berry when faced with a faster attacker, although it's much more prediction reliant and can lead to Abra giving up momentum. Maximum Special Attack and Speed investment with a Timid nature lets Abra hit hard and Speed tie with Pokemon like Golbat and Pikachu. 4 HP EVs allow Abra to activate its Berry after three uses of Substitute. Salac Berry enables Abra to be even scarier late-game, giving it the jump on Pokemon like Haunter, Plusle, and Murkrow. Abra's main focus should be on sweeping late-game once its checks are weakened and removed, although it can make use of its solid Speed tier and great power to revenge kill early- and mid-game. By bringing Abra in against a Pokemon like Roselia that it can easily force out, you gain a free turn to boost with Calm Mind or set up Substitute. Team Options Spikes from Roselia, Glalie, or Cacturne benefits Abra greatly, helping it get by Pokemon like Lickitung, Torkoal, and Flareon more easily. Similarly, special wallbreakers such as Haunter, Flareon, and Wailord wear down switch-ins to Abra like Kecleon and opposing Wailord. Haunter in particular is a solid partner—especially Thief variants—because it's great at drawing in and weakening Sableye and Chimecho. Due to Abra's extremely poor bulk, it's very prone to being revenge killed by attackers like Raticate and Pidgeot; as a result, pairing it with sturdy checks such as Sudowoodo, Relicanth, and Sableye is beneficial. A slow Baton Pass user like Mawile is also great, since it can make getting Abra safely onto the field much easier.

Abra is a huge threat with its combination of Speed and Special Attack. It outspeeds and can revenge kill many weakened foes like Quilava, Aipom, Flaaffy, and Seaking. Calm Mind makes Abra an even stronger attacker and allows it to 2HKO even special walls like Porygon and Delcatty with Psychic after a single boost. Encore disrupts setup sweepers like Anorith and Beedrill as well as defensive threats like Wartortle and Delcatty by locking them into an unthreatening move. This offers Abra more setup opportunities and can make up for its poor defenses. Substitute pairs well with Petaya Berry to ensure it can be activated and is a safer way to boost Abra's offensive power without risking an OHKO. STAB Psychic threatens a 2HKO on many common foes such as Flaaffy and Seaking, making Abra very difficult to switch into and very powerful as a revenge attacker. Hidden Power Grass threatens mainly Corsola with the potential to OHKO it without a boost but can also serve to hit Water-types really hard and KO them with additional damage. Ice Punch threatens Tropius with 4x super effective damage and can also be an option over Hidden Power Grass to hit Mightyena and Lileep slightly harder. Petaya Berry coupled with Abra’s Special Attack allows it to swiftly clean up chipped teams, even 2HKOing special walls like Delcatty and Porygon with a +1 Psychic. Lum Berry is a great alternative to absorb and return status to preserve when Abra can be a threat without the additional power from Petaya. Lum Berry is ideal when running Encore + Calm Mind and no substitute. A Timid nature is recommended to outspeed the entirety of the tier outside of Voltorb and Elekid as well as Ponyta, which Abra Speed ties with. Abra fits both on offensive and defensive teams as a late-game sweeper and constant disruptor with the threat of Encore. Abra is at its strongest when it’s preserved to clean up late-game after its checks are dealt with or in a health range that allows Abra to KO them. This makes defensive pivots critical on any team with Abra to cover a number of common threats. Koffing can take on common physical attackers like Ponyta, Beedrill, Anorith and common Choice Band users like Meditite, Doduo, Seaking, and Aipom when they’re locked into a resisted move. Intimidate Mightyena and Normal-resistant Pokemon like Corsola, Rhyhorn, and Anorith can come in on Quick Attack users as well as opposing Abra and also do respectable damage to special walls that can get in Abra's way. Abra benefits greatly from a safe switch in due to its fragility, which makes strong Baton Pass users such as Ariados, Meditite, and Delcatty great pairings. Ariados can come in on Mightyena and threaten it out with a strong STAB Signal Beam while also taking on other threats with good coverage in Sludge Bomb and Psychic for Koffing and Beedrill. Abra’s extremely poor bulk makes it an easy target for priority users, notably Doduo, Ponyta, and Meditite. Specially defensive pivots are required alongside Abra to counteract opposing special walls that are not yet in range of a KO. Ariados can serve as a strong Mightyena switch-in and additionally functions as a slow pivot via Baton Pass. Delcatty can serve as a special wall and cleric support for Abra and other offensive threats on the team. Specially defensive Gloom and Noctowl can be great alternative options. Gloom can come in on many threats like Corsola and Mightyena and force progress with Stun Spore or Leech Seed. Noctowl can slowly wear down Pokemon that Abra doesn’t threaten like Mightyena or Drowzee. Abra enjoys being paired with additional sweepers that can enable its sweep. Options like Anorith can break through special walls like Noctowl, Delcatty and Porygon that can get in Abra's way. Weather sweepers like Seaking and Tropius can also open up Abra's offensive gameplan by putting opposing teams in KO range of its attacks. Choice Band wallbreakers like Ponyta and Mightyena can offer much of the same by damaging foes that tend to slow down Abra.
